Textiles have been part of a complex communication system through different cultures. Clothing forms part of women´s regional identity in the Mayan area, where each indigenous group has a distinctive dress, colours and intricate designs that adorn the blouses, or huipiles. Dressing is a form of identification and identity among Maya women and those characteristics are distinctive between towns in the Maya region. This exhibition features textiles, both traditional and modern, and photographs of contemporary Maya people of Chiapas, Mexico. "

I like to stop by to see up coming artists. And it's a great place to launch my kayak.

Although only a small gallery, they had artworks in a style different from anything I'd seen anywhere else in the world; which I had to buy!! Staff were very helpful, in my circumstances, as I was in town for only one day
