We asked several companies to quote on painting our old house and J Ussner Painting & Finishing was by far the most responsive and professional of the bunch. While their price was on the high side, they did an excellent job for us. The old paint on our house was badly chipped in many places so a LOT of scraping needed to be done. The members of the team were all polite and professional and very hard working. They paid attention to details and were done on-time, too. They even did a very good job of cleaning up after themselves. If Google allowed fractional scores, we would have given them a score of 4.75 — not far from perfect! — and we are happy to recommend them to others.

Out of all the painters we had contacted, J Ussner painting gave the best quote and was able to meet our short deadlines. The quoting was detailed and extremely reasonable, this was most likely due to Jimka actually measuring the walls for the quote (other contractors did not and provided unreasonably high estimates). Furthermore, his crew Alexander and Florian were very polite and did an amazing job with painting and patching the holes that we needed fixed. Lastly, they were also flexible and were able to work early in the morning on short notice, which was greatly appreciated. Overall, I would definitely go with J Ussner painting again for any of my future painting needs.

If you are looking for a company who delivers what they promise this is it. I do have to mention that they are on the higher end of pricing, but if you are OCD like me and need precision, this is the company for you. We had a mutual miscommunication which was quickly remedied by Jimka, the owner. I had my entire 2 bed 2 bath apartment painted (ceilings, walls, doors and trim, baseboards and I had drywall repairs). All of the work was done in 5 days, Mon-Fri, and I was able to contact Jimka for updates or concerns as the job was in the process and he addressed all of my concerns. I needed dry wall repairs for a big imperfection in one of my bedroom walls and for a hole in the living room to get filled, both have been addressed. Very impressed and definitely feel like I chose the right company for this big project. I highly recommend this company when it comes to good quality work, precision and professionalism.

We were very pleased with the finished work on our showroom by J Ussner Painting. I brought Jimka in to fix the first paint job done by another painting contractor who got the wrong paint but we did not catch it until our bright white furniture and displays arrived. That's when we noticed our walls had a greening-yellowish tinted white, it was a disaster but after calling in Jimka's he helped us choose the correct tint of white and finish type. Chantilly Lace Low Sheen for the walls and Gallery White High Gloss for our furniture, it turned out amazing! I will use Jimka again for on future work and would recommend him. We have just had the woodwork on the exterior of our house painted. Ours is an old home in the Point Gray area. Typical of houses built in the 1930/40s, there is lots of wood surrounding the windows and doors. These days, this property is considered a ‘teardown’. Therein lay a dilemma. We wanted to freshen up the place – we live there, but wanted to balance looks with the practicality that likely the house will be torn down sooner than later. Jimka at Ussner got it. He understood. We got three paint companies to take a look at it. We settled on Jimka. He is personable accommodating and speaks with clarity. We agreed on scope of work for which he gave a written estimate. His people arrived on time. They were courteous, respectful of our space and property and did an excellent job. I wanted to have some outside painting in the fall before the weather detreated. I met with Jimka and 2 other companies. The job was complicated in that I was going to be away during the period before the fall weather stared added to this the job was a bit complex as access to the high points was restricted. After talking to Jimka I felt that he had the competence and trustability to do the job. His price was competitive however I selected him because I felt he could be trusted to do the job in my absence. My trust was rewarded as the job had been completed to my satisfaction on my return.

Job was started a month later than projected. Several areas of the outside paint job were omitted or forgotten, so that 3 additional visits were necessary! After the first frost the paint started peeling off - whether this will be rectified I still don't know. I cannot recommend this company!
