After installing a new fireplace and mantle in my 1915 home, I needed the space between it and the walls replaced, since it was smaller than the old mantle. Doug's worker did an excellent job, you'd never know a repair was done, and was courteous and respectful of my time. I would definitely use VanDuzer Painting & Decorating again.

We had VanDuzer painting paint the whole main floor of our home, front entry, kitchen, dining room hallways exc. We were so pleased with the promptness of the painter and how friendly he was- I have three kids and he was so polite and kind to them when they would ask him questions and he would talk to them as they were watching him intently! They were quick to provide a quote and very professional. The price was reasonable compared to other companies. It was more than a one day job and they made sure the place looked exactly how it was each night so that nothing was in the way well the job was getting done. Would strongly recommend for any painting job- will go back for a quote for some exterior painting as well!

VanDuzer is the best. We first used VanDuzer about 10 years ago to paint our porch, and more recently to paint our bedroom, entrance and hallway and refinish our stairs. We have a 1905 home in Hamilton with old plaster walls. In our most recent project, they repaired all the plaster cracks, skim coated and smoothed the walls with plaster, primed and repainted, sanded and re-stained our stairs and trim, painted our radiator, etc. The walls and ceilings now look perfect, like new. They also have electrical, carpentry and other services. During our recent job, they replaced our track lighting with beautiful pot lights. The transformation to our home has been remarkable, thanks to their very professional painters with great attention to details. I wouldn't consider using anyone else.

Make sure you get every single item, there is no detail to small, in writing regardless of what the owner says. I Have used this company twice. First time to paint interior of my home and his worker did a great job. Was very careful and considerate of my things and was finished on time with no extra costs. Second time was to do a large (for me) renovation on my mother's Victorian home. Did a walk through with Doug telling him everything I wanted and needed done and he acknowledged everything. The quote he did up summarized what we had discussed but did not list every little thing I wanted, i.e. shut off valves on sinks, toilets, etc. Using different workers than on my home, the two month job turned into a four month plus job with a whopping great bill for all the "extras" at the end and some original items not done or done poorly. Also, very important, I found out that he had not applied for any permits other than the one for the dumpster in front of the house despite his leading me to believe otherwise. I would not recommend this company for anything other than painting and minor repairs and make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing.
