Professionalism, artistry, atmosphere, cleanliness all 11/10! If I could give more stars, I would! The studio itself is absolutely stunning and always sparkling clean, with friendly faces of Trish and Katrina welcoming all clients or potential clients. Katrina has done all of the work on my right arm (almost completed my half sleeve so far) and we already have plans for the rest of my arm, my other arm and have discussed work on my leg. I couldn’t imagine going to anyone else after having Kat tattoo me. She specializes in black and grey realism and really nails it! You’ve gotta respect someone who hones their craft to the degree Katrina has, and who has the knowledge and kindness to pass on work to other artists if it is not within her style range. Not only has she done amazing work on my right arm, she has helped me deal with a severe burn (kitchen accident) on my left arm, working with me to design a plan to tattoo around the burn and work it in to make it less noticeable. Katrina and Discover the Canvas have made a true positive contribution to our city by her moving home, buying property here, really fixing up that property and making it into one of the nicest spots in town and with her professionalism. I can’t wait to see what Katrina will do for tattoos on me in the future and what she will accomplish as a business woman moving forward. She is one to watch and it is an honour to have someone of her caliber tattooing in Sault STE Marie.

I went with a friend as she got her tattoo by Katlyn the end result was brutal with mistakes and unfinished work.It was about the size of my hand Mandela, the line work was off.. was left unfinished, as well as the band around was a very noticeable difference in size, it's a band! I believe it should at least connect correctly, but I'm no expert. The arrow at the end is was clearly crooked. It was honestly like it was a piece they she did not care about at all... And all for the low low cost of over 600$ for a hr of work (and I'm dead serious as I took photos with time stamps on it) We arrived and waited 1.5 hr and that was ok as we understand Covid laws have changed Things. If the artist katlyn was not wanting to do this piece and didn't care about it I wish should would have refused to do it, instead of leaving this highly overpriced mess behind, it had the potential to be amazing, if Katlyn would have just put the skills that we know she has into this piece. Very unfortunate as these lady's came so highly recommended, these portfolios looked amazing! I don't think it's fixable unfortunately, but hopefully the shop does right by her and trys to correct the work. No picture at this time as the friend is very upset and is hoping the shop will try and make this right.

Katrina is incredible! Her talent is unmatched as her artistry continually shines whether it is in her tattoos or art pieces. A true artist! She is professional, sweet as pie and her studio is so clean and a blast to be in. Sitting in a chair for hours is a treat when you're at DISCOVER THE CANVAS

Received a lobe piercing it was very expensive for a poorly done job. It hurt and wasn’t done well. I was bruised for weeks afterwards and the piercing never healed properly.

Have you ever walked in somewhere and felt completely at peace? thats a rarity for me , however i will say walking in and seeing a bunch of outrageously positive and embracing woman is the first stepping stone. The second is when they show you their art . I lost a beating heart very close to me. heartbroken , i brought my pain to katrina, she put my heart to ink, on my body . she was precise and delicate. i couldnt ask for more... but a shop is more than just the artist .. the receptionist , the piercer , the other artists in the room .. these woman are a vibe . its not just a tattoo. its not just a piercing , its safety , its warmth. its everything i want in a vulnerable space . i cant thank these women enough, im at 3 tattoos so far by them .n. i'll see you soon . thank you for the safe space

Just booked my 7th tattoo with Katrina! Her work is outstanding. I get many compliments on my tattoos and look forward to the upcoming portrait session. I am proud to refer her to friends and complete strangers as I know she will not disappoint. The shop is very clean, tasteful and extremely professional. If you are considering art work on your body or special pieces check her out! You might have to wait, but it's most definitely worth it!
