My kids and I went to the art gallery on the Rawlco Radio free day this weekend! My youngest had gone with her class and wanted us all to see the exhibit by Christi Belcourt they went to. That exhibit had beautiful pieces. We loved looking at all the other art exhibits too and seeing the special performances by the irish dancers and the metis dancers. Will definitely try to visit the gallery more!

Fun fact: One of the largest elevators in North America is inside this building. The elevator is not open to the public but it was a really neat thing to learn as I got to ride in it while setting up for a trade show. That being said, this gallery is a gem and worth a visit for those of you who are visiting out of town. Glad to have a gallery like this in my city.

If Museums hold our past narrative, then Art Galleries have the opportunity to shape the vision we want for our future one. The Mackenzie Art Gallery in Regina is a STUNNING place! Walking in and seeing sculptures of elderly women, a pregnant woman reading a book, a child being kind to an elder in a wheel chair, an elderly couple clearly in love, amidst the most gorgeous indoor garden was a breathtaking, hope filling experience. The gallery's exhibitions were mindblowing, edgy, provocative and beautiful and left me full of questions and wonderings. An absolutely incredible building and experience.

Zia ur Rehman Ahmed

It's a beautiful place and lot of green grass and grounds to play for kids.

Robert Last

Overrated. The prices are really high for what we got. We went there and most of the exhibits were closed. They had some videos as exhibits that were quite pointless and not art. It was boring in general.

We went to the Mackenzie art gallery on a Saturday afternoon thinking that it might be quite busy but in fact it wasn't there were a number of tour guides available in fact quite anxious to help us out they were number of exhibits that were interesting and the tour guides were quite knowledgeable about the exhibits we were unable to see the Inuit carvings they were put away for the moment I guess to make space for the other exhibits we found that the entire experience was was quite good at the same time we went to the tour the building itself including all of the statues that are on display in the TC Douglas building the commissioner was very helpful he knew that history of every statue of every picture every sculpture that was around there he even allowed us to go up the elevator which had a window on one side so we were able to see pretty far away overall it was a very very welcoming experience we were quite happy with our experience and it caused us to reflect a lot particularly the one exhibit was quite thought-provoking so I recommend the visit I think that and certainly the gift shop was full of items to tempt you to bring home things.

Probably the best place in Regina for art. Also it's the biggest gallery of the city! But compare to other cities it is not, but yeah you are in Regina:))) the exhibitions are various but almost all are very good and it's free! Huuray There is a nice cafe that you can try and they have very good coffee as well as there is an store at the beginning which has very beautiful fancy fantasy old-fashion artistic stuffs! But yep it is expensive! So don't check it if you are like me and cannot resist lolll

Really enjoy going to this place. Calm atmosphere and friendly staff. I also enjoy the new cafe there. Great food, fast service but just a little too overpriced in my personal opinion.. but I am a broke university student so that makes a difference. In the end my experience was 10 for 10 would recommend and cant wait to go back there again.

Always have such varied and interesting things for sale. Bought myself a pair of purple/green socks that match and don’t match - the latest craze today. Prices are very high.

Fantastic, well worth a stop if you are looking for something to do. There are typically rotating exibits of art to keep it fresh along with some permeant pieces. Staff are always helpful and love to talk about the pieces. The gift shop is awesome for unique gifts.

Went to visit the gallery today after being unable to register ahead of time for the free Rawlco addimission. The web site simply only flashed red. Then after the visit I was also unable to access the on line survey with the website. While at the gallery we visited a couple exhibit rooms and then went on a tour. There were 3 leaders and three participants. I could not understand the lady who could barely speak English. I could not hear what the man said through his mask, with no microphone and a motor going in the next room to keep an inflatable castle up. Some tour. That's okay, I could not understand the principles involved with the displays taking up whole rooms when a 5 foot wall would have sufficed. The gift shop was nice and the workers friendly. I asked why local art shows are not supported and they didn't know. Seems like all the local talent is overlooked. I know established artists need promoting too but I there would be very little time and energy needed to support local artists with a weekend show! There are lots of wonderful artists in Regina that would draw a crowd.

THINK ABOUT ART!

Beate Pradel

Note - admission is $10, far too high for this gallery. It should be $5 as a recommend donation in line with the other museum nearby. The ceramic collection (folk art) had far too many pieces and it was rather repetitive. I noticed a few J. Fafard sculptures which were amazing, these should not have been hidden but displayed near the entrance. There were also a few paintings in a smaller section.

Have not been inside the exhibition, but others' have told me this is a good art exhibition. I parked in the car park, which is free parking and could afford the outdoor art and craft market. I am wondering why I am paying to enter the market to be sold stuff. After all, all the vendors are paying to be there to sell me stuff and now I have less money to spend on vendors. I don't need to pay to enter any other kind of market or store.

The right spot to spend an early morning, late afternoon or weekend - actually, anytime or day would be right! Vibrant gallery with a quaint coffee shop. Coffee is brewed by local roasters 33 1/3 and fresh eats are made throughout the day. Note: If you want to jazz up your drink with cinnamon after you’ve ordered, you will have to ask the barista for help! Overall, I felt inspired in this space. Will return with clients and friends.

The Cicansky exhibit was the most enjoyable exhibit I have seen in a gallery for years. This made my trip to Regina worthwhile! The visit was made even better with the display of local Sask. artists such as William Perehudoff, Dorothy Knowles, and Reta Cowley. It is a small gallery but this exhibit punched far, far, above its weight! Contrary to what another reviewer reported from a few weeks ago, this gallery does charge admission ($10) and this display is easily worth that.

This art gallery a variety of art forms. The last one was composed of soapstone carvings by northern natives, oil paintings by various artists, in one part of the gallery from a private collection. Another section held art owned by the gallery itself. The exhibits change from time to time so it is best to inquire before attending. The price is right - no fee. Yes, like most galleries in Regina there is no cost. There is also a gift shop on the premises that carries a wide selection of fine art, China, jewelry, etc. It is time well spent if you are an art lover.

Jhaik Windy Hair

Entrance by donation, which is nice as it allows for people of more limited means to enjoy the gallery. Gallery was just fine, but exhibits were not really to our taste. Friendly helpful staff. I used the railing to get down the stairs and my hand turned black and grey with dirt and grime! If we are ever back in Regina with an hour to kill, we'd probably go back, just isn't something we would carve special time out during a visit to do.

Me and my girlfriend love going to the art gallery, just for 10-15 minutes each time to just see the new stuff and appreciate art, but now they are charging 10 dollars admission per person to enter the gallery. Definetly not worth it and will not be going anymore. Just horrible. We are both extremely upset because we go so much but 20 dollars for both of us each time is just ridiculous.
