So...I took the day off to get colour with Jacki, and confirmed online yesterday. I showed up this morning, only to be told by the girl at the reception desk that she would be doing my hair?! She even said that Jacki had confirmed this with me over the phone. Not true, I have never spoken to the woman in my life. They tried to book me at another time, obviously I want nothing to do with that salon ever again. I left and went to Pepper Tree, and they ended up doing my hair on the spot. It is amazing, I never thought my hair could look that good. I work in a very visible position, and I will be sure to share this story every time someone compliments my hair :)

I had a set of volume lashes done by Mikayla and it was the worst set I have ever had. I felt she was careless with the placement of lashes. Normally when I get lashes done, each lash is individually separated and adhered to an extension. Mikayla was fast and careless with the application process. Within 24 hours, 90% of my lashes had fallen out, despite performing all of the necessary lash care regiment. I have had lashes done at other places before and this has NEVER happened. Not enough glue was used on the extensions. I went back to the store and they gave me my refund, but she was very rude towards me and blamed me for the lashes falling out. Not to mention, they did not refund me my tip. Tips are a gratuity for when services are appreciated. When I give a 20% tip of $200 and spend hours out of my day, and the product lasts me only 24 hours, I do not think that service is deserving of a tip. Completely dissapointed in this place and will NOT return. I do not recommend any of you make the same expensive mistake I did.

My favorite thing about this hair salon is that they're always have appointments available. It seems as thoughthe other salons in town always going to be booked or don't have enough hairdressers and never have availability. Every time I've called this location they've always had a spot for me.

Most of all, I respect the environmentally sustainable practices they have adopted and will continue to be a client of theirs because of this.

My first choice to have my hair and make up done for my wedding. My wedding is Sunday and they can't do it as they are closed on Sunday. I just wish they could do Sunday as well. Not everyone is getting married on the weekdays or Saturday.

I think I finally found my forever beauty place! Quinn is fabulous! She is so professional, friendly and talented! She did my lashes and I'm over the moon! Quinn did amazing job and I'm definitely her forever client. She as well teach me how to do my daily make up which I really appreciate it. Quinn - you're the best! ♥ Ming is another fabulous girl. First she did my nails and I'm very pleased with the results at the end. She is perfectionist and at the top of that friendly,happy and easy going. I've had done waxing by her as well and can't say a single word as she didn't left a single hair ( she is so great - M kept me engaged in whole process that became almost painless) :) great job Ming! ♥ definitely sticking with that girl for nails and waxing! Overall, I feel super comfortable at Shine store and I would definitely recommend for YOU to go and check out yourself. Satisfaction guaranteed! Cheers Marta

Not good customer service with the lash extensions. Fell out right away and were not glued on properly. Went back in to see if they could fix it and said they "couldn't do anything about it"

I love the team at Shine. I can tell that they really care about me as a guest. They are super friendly, very knowledgeble, and i leave feeling great! I cannot say enough good things about them. I thought that when I moved to Prince George that I would not find a place as good as the one back home ... but I did! If you are looking for a great cut & colour definitely go here. The complimentary cup of tea is a nice touch as well!

I called in on Saturday the 14th with a lashcatastrophe! I was in PG on business with 2 weeks left to go and I needed a lash fill fix stat. So happy they were able to get me in. My lashes by Mikayla were better than I hoped for. They were still full and fluffy when I got home. My lash tech in Kelowna also expressed how great they were when I had my regular fill yesterday. Thank you Shine for helping me out and thank you Mikayla for an awesome lash exprience!

Absolutely one of the best hair cuts I have had!!! I cut off about 15 inches and Ailsa did a wonderful job! I couldn't be more happy with it, their service was above and beyond what I was expecting. I usually have a very hard time with having my hair cut well as it is rather thick but Ailsa is truly a master! The atmosphere was fun and friendly and the prices are very reasonable; truly a gem in Prince George! I will be recommending all of my friends to come here.

The worst experience I've ever had at a salon. Although my horrifying experience was over six months ago, I still think about it and want to warn others. I had gone to this salon for three prior appointments and had great results. However, my next appointment was a completely different experience. I booked in to get my roots done in highlights. I'm a natural ash blond and have or (had) long hair down to my shoulder blades. The girl that usually worked on my hair wasn't in that day so I was paired with a very young girl I had never seen before. I explained that I wanted the same roots/highlighted that I always get hought and explained in detail. Something obviously went wrong because she washed the dye out and when I looked in the mirror my hair was really dark. She started blow drying it and it was a dark mud brown and silver. I told her that something was wrong and asked why it was so dark. She said that it looked nice to her. I was a bit shocked because it was nothing like what I had walked in with. I showed her a picture of my hair from a few days before, bright pretty blonde. This was not that. She had me wait while she got a senior staff member who asked what I didn't like about it. I also showed her the picture. She agreed it was dark but said she liked the colour. I was pretty upset at this point and felt like they weren't listening to me. Clearly it was a chemical mistake of some sort and clearly they were trying to convince me that I liked the disgusting muddy mess my hair had become. She asked me what colour I was looking for and I showed her my picture again and she told me that they could lighten it up. Back to the sink we went and they applied another chemical and left me. After only a few minutes my scalp started burning really badly from the chemical. I tried to tough it out and after about ten minutes no one had come back. I started getting tears in my eyes because of the pain and was about to go get one of the girls when she came back in. I told her that my scalp was on fire and that it was really painful. She rinsed it out and walked me back to the chair. When I looked in the mirror my heart just sunk. She had bleached my entire head and it was orange at the roots with white at the ends. I burst into tears. They had never asked if they could bleach my hair. She said "lighten up" not bleach. I was so mortified and I looked rediculous. Then she started brushing it out and it was so tangled and damaged that she could hardly get a brush through it. She offered to trim it but I told her not to touch my hair and that I just wanted to leave. I was crying as I went up to the till. Not only did neither of them apologize but they didn't offer me any type of discount or or offer to fix it. I paid full price. I had come in with my healthy blonde hair and left with a damage bleached head. What's worse is that I had chemical burns all over my scalp. Horrible scabs formed all over the burnt areas. I went to see a stylist at Razors edge to ask her what to do and she was shocked when she saw my hair and said I couldn't touch it for at least a month. Then she gave me two treatments over the next few months to try to repair it which cost a lot of money. She also had to cut off almost four inches of my hair because the ends were just frizz. I really have never experienced anything like this and I should have written this review a long time ago. I wish they would have just owned up to what had happened, apologized and fixed my hair properly. I would never bleach my hair by choice. For now, my hair is only able to take some lowlights until I grow it out. I miss my blonde hair and I will never go back to Shine. Hopefully they can work on the basics of their hair skills and customer service so that no one has to go through what I did. But more assuredly, just don't take the chance with this place.

Horrible customer service and experience for lash extensions. I went in today and already I’ve had lashes falling out and bald spots. The lady could not finish removing my old lashes so she just filled around them!???? Not to mention, when I called to book my appointment I was told it would be $80-$90 and I left with the bill coming to $120. Not impressed AT ALL. I wouldn’t have even gone to this place if it would have been more than $100 for a fill. Bad business, bad service. Really unhappy.

Well, where do I start, from the moment you walk in to Shine, you are greeted with a friendly smile, offered a beverage, and 9/10 times, there is no wait, they always seem to be running on time. I've had hair and lashes done here, and I know for sure, I won't be going anywhere else. I can't wait to be getting my nails done next with Mikayla, if they're only half as good as her lashing techniques, they'll still be incredible. I honestly can't recommend Shine enough to anyone I know. Keep up the good work ladies.

I was visiting PG and needed my nails done so made an appointment here for a gel fill and polish. Unfortunately it did not go well. The young girl who did them for me left my nails uneven lengths after taking a very long time filing them and two of them chipped within a day so badly that I had to file them right down to fix it. Sorry but I cannot recommend this salon for nails.

I went into Shine for the first time to get a set of gel nails. I was really apprehensive as I previously had an awesome nail tech, but due to a new job her appointment availability does not work for me. Mikayla did my nails at Shine and I was so impressed. She was so detail oriented. Due to COVID, she was using latex gloves, which mustve been so challenging! Very accommodating and polite! Love the new set!
