Cody visited my condo last Wednesday to give a painting estimate. He never asked for my email to send the estimate. A full week later, I still do not have a written estimate, despite texting Leanne three days ago to send it and providing my email via text. She said she would and never did. All the other painters provided written estimates within one business day of the visit. It should be up to the customer to select the painter, not the other way around. This experience doesn't sit right with me and I felt they should know this is not acceptable. Response to owner: Leanne and I had an exchange about this review over text. First she sent the screen shot of the email being sent (without the full email visible) and told me she would post the screen shot if I didn't take down my review. She told me I sent her the wrong email, I told her to scroll up her texts and she acknowledged I sent the right email and he sent it to the wrong address but her point was that he sent it. She sent me another screen shot that it was sent to the wrong email address with the error message. She said that he didn't see the error message come through that the email couldn't be sent, which I find hard to believe given that it comes right away to notify you of the error. First of all, Cody should have called me to get my email address or asked me for it when he came like every other painter, he didn't do that. I shouldn't have to follow up and text it to Leanne. Every other painter sends it the same day or next day and this business sends it to the wrong email address 5 days later. Secondly, sending it to the wrong address doesn't seem to be accidental to me (I'm sure they will dispute this). In my opinion, he didn't want the job. I've already found a much better company for my painting needs at this time.

Very happy with the results. Main floor and upstairs hallway took 1.5 days, but that was because the job partially required oil paint. Great communication and fast response time to emails. There were still some details to iron out on the day of the job and the team was professional, friendly and efficient. Not the cheapest quote we got, but it was the best value. We'll be happy with the results for years to come.

I honestly can’t say enough great things about Cody and Leanne. When I renovated my kitchen a couple of years ago, they did a fantastic job so it was a no brainer to call them up again. What separates them from others is they really do CARE about the work they do. This is obvious not only in the end results (which are amazing btw!)...but even just in your interactions with them. They were prompt in getting back to me, accomodated my rather specific scheduling needs and also tried to find ways for me to save money. They are genuinely good people who pride themselves in doing a good and honest job. So if you want a team you can trust...look no further!!

We just bought a new house and needed to paint pretty much every single room. We contacted The Urban Palette to paint our entire main floor (hallways, living room and dining room), stairs and hallways, and three bedrooms. We couldn't be happier with the end result! Where to start with such an amazing company! Upon my first time reaching out to the Urban Palette I was very promptly responded to by Leanne (who has been a pleasure to deal with since day 1) scheduled a time for her partner Cody to come out and assess my needs. I was unfortunate at the start of my project to not be able to use them because of my timing. Boy did I make a mistake in not waiting. After letting go the painter that I originally hired (because he fit into my tight schedule) for not showing up and doing poor quality work. I called the Urban Palette back in. Cody and Leanne came out the 2nd time to go over what I needed done. All 3 levels of my home needed painting, feature walls in 3 bedrooms, featured accent entrance and my exterior brick. The excitement Cody had and his vision on how to go about the process made me know I made the right choice going with them. Despite their hectic lives in just bringing in a new baby to the world they far surpassed my expectations. Their customer service and communication is unsurpassed. In doing a full gut and renovation on my home and dealing with numerous contractors they are on the top of the list and will not hesitate to contact them for all of my forthcoming projects. They truly were a pleasure to deal with even their employees fall under this same category, Marco treated my home like it was his own and was always very pleasant. Take my advise and hire these painters you will not be disappointed!

We had Cody refinish our cedar deck which had turned a dark ugly colour. He spent the time to sand it down to its natural colour and stained it a beautiful clear cedar tone. We are so happy with the results and his work. He was so pleasant to deal with and threw in some additional items for free! We will definitely call him again when we have another project.

tl;dr: Hire the Urban Palette. They take their time to get every aspect right. They do it at a fair price. They take pride in their work and it shows. -- I needed a lot of painting done: most of my main floor, hallway and several bedrooms. Each room had different requirements - some needed trim converted from wood, some needed refreshed white trim, some needed new colours, some needed the ceiling, outside painting, fireplaces... Cody took his time going through my requirements and wrote up a detailed quote. I got a few different quotes and this one was the easiest and clearest. Next, Leanne helped pick colours. She also took her time to listen to what I was thinking, consider the look of the rest of the house and put together a great palette. Some of her suggestions were bolder than I would have ever thought of on my own and are some of the best pieces of our new look. I was having some other work done to prep for the painting and Leanne & Cody were flexible to schedule in when I was ready. Again, when they started, they took their time to get it right. Some wood doors I was changing to white required some extra attention and special products and again, they took the time to make sure it looked right. I am so happy with the final product - my house looks better than I imagined. I have already recommended the Urban Palette to several friends and family.

We did a kitchen reno and needed to repaint some walls on the first floor as well as paint all the doors. We hired Urban Palette to complete the project after reading the reviews on HomeStars. The job was done on time and the crew was friendly. The price was reasonable, but with some unexpected additions at the end. However, on the quality side I was disappointed. - Although the walls were painted well, the job on the doors was not as good. I have french doors with glass inserts and the paint work around the glass was very sloppy. The glass was not taped and protected at all, lines are not straight and glass was stained with paint. We were also charged extra for 3rd coat on the doors, although I highly doubt it was necessary and if it was done, they were not covering the entire door surface for the 3rd time, but perhaps some small areas. - Overall quite a bit of stains were left on the hardwood floor as well, I had to scrape off after they left. - None of the hardware or electric plates were removed, as was listed on the agreement. We removed most of it ourselves, they did not remove any remaining ones and just painted around those. Overall, I know there are much worse contractors out there and the experience with Urban Palette was pleasant overall. But I was not lucky with the craftsmanship of the particular team working at my project.
