There were several hiccups in the process such as the estimate of coats needed being under-estimated, resulting in additional costs and a full week delay in getting my condo painted. The paint job itself is good and I am satisfied with it. Due to the challenges and inconveniences I experienced with the job, the manager reached out to me to discuss the experience. We came to an agreement on that was satisfactory to both parties. They appear be committed to making sure they have satisfied customers.

We just used Certapro to paint the trim on our house. From the moment that they started preping our house for painting I regretted hiring them. If I can save just one homeowner the hastle of using this company writing a review will be worth it. Our patio furniture, new car, bbq, all walkways, gardens, etc. covered in copious amounts of paint chips. They don't protect your furniture, put down drop clothes, move things out of the way they just trudge ahead. The owner did send a crew back and it took them 8 hours to clean up the paint chips - I mean it when I say it was a huge mess. Our 'painter' if I had to guess had probably not painted many times before. He was not going to scrape, sand of remaining chips or repair spots before painting. He said this was not his job - it was the prep crew. He just paints. The owner had to come out and tell the painter that he did have to prep and scrape off paint chips before painting. ugh. He didn't want to paint our doors which were included in the quote and clearly labeled because he would lose money on the contract by painting the doors, too time consuming. (?) It's in the quote but he was subcontracted. One day, He showed up in the rain to paint....? I said he couldn't paint my trim while it's wet and he assured me his brush would not slip with the water. I sent him home - It needs to be dry to paint. It felt like a full time job managing this very small project. He asked me for the money at least 8 times before the job was even completed and finally tossed all the empty paint cans into our garbage can which I will fish out and take to the paint recycling depot. Please just save yourself the headache.

Certa Pro did our strata and,in my opinion, we did not get what we paid for. First off,the pressure wash was done haphazardly as they were supposed to use bleach on the blackened areas which wasn't done for a lot of the affected areas.I know this because I watched the pressure washers for a half hour and not once was the bleach hand pump sprayer used(they may have used it in the court yard area as they can be easily seen in that area).You can smell bleach if it is being used,even 3-4 hours after the fact, and neither rain nor wind makes the smell go away .They did start using the bleach on the back of the building after I had mentioned it to the off site foreman.Note,when you can see wand marks on blackened areas,this is a good indication of a quick,once over type wash. We were supposed to get 2 coats and although we may have got that in some areas,we definitely did not get that on all the painted surfaces.A crew member actually told me that he was told "2 coats if it needs it" and although he may have just been hired,why would he say that?He was obviously being truthful because that is not something a foreman would want the customers to know.Fyi,if you are getting 2 coats,you shouldn't see areas with absolutely no fresh paint on it .These areas were seen after the the company had stated they were completely finished and a supposed inspection had been done .A crew guy/gal might miss an area once,but he/she sure the heck doesn't miss it twice if 2 coats were applied. If asked,the off site foreman may tell you that I don't know what I am talking about but, I am not an old lady on the strata council who doesn't know her ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to trade work.I have been in the business for 27 years,and a project foreman for 16 years working for a company that has been around for 33 years.I run 7 crews,a stucco crew,and pressure washing crews.This year we completed the exteriors of 4 five story strata "block" buildings,3 business strata buildings,a 20 story hotel,2 BCIT buildings,and 62 houses.That is a normal year for me so yes.I absolutely know what I am talking about . I will say that the painting,cutting in was clean and the crew guys acted professional and were courteous and,although I wouldn't recommend Certa Pro for strata type work or big projects ,as the proper supervision is not prevalent,I am sure they would do a nice job on residential houses and similar type jobs.

They organized the work to remove old gutters first, scheduled painting so new gutters were installed on fresh paint. Work completed as promised. Alex is very professional and diligent. Our experience with CertaPro had its highs and lows. We found the front office very disappointing to work with, we were quoted a job to be done in 7-9 days (it took 16 days, after starting late, and most days only 1 painter was sent) and many times our emails to their staff went unanswered. This caused a lot of unneeded stress for my family. We also were quoted for 2 coats of paint with us having dark yellow walls and changing them to an off-white, which for anyone that has painted ever before knows 2 coats would be completely inadequate. Once the painting started, we were fortunate enough to have the ‘2 Jasons’ who were both excellent painters and really wonderful guys. They were individually fast and worked hard to make sure we were pleased with the final job. Other painters were sent in as well at points, yet not all were of the same skill level and some work had to be redone. We would consider hiring either of the 2 Jason’s again for painting projects as individuals. One saving grace, the owner of the company came to our home twice after learning about what a mess everything had been for us to apologize, which was the right thing to do and we appreciated the gesture.

This was our first experience using a professional painting company and I cannot say enough good things! Matt came out to our place to give us a quote, and I never felt rushed or pushed - I asked tons of questions and he was very patient. We were able to have Jason come out in a matter of two weeks from our first meeting and he did an amazing job - got our whole interior of a two bedroom place done in a day and a half! The house looks amazing, I'm so mad that I didn't do this years ago for our own benefit! Terrible. Did not show up when they said they would and when they did finally come they painted part of the house that they were not supposed to paint. They splashed paint all over the siding and windows and through an open window on to the back of the couch and hardwood floors. When I called them to discuss they would not return my calls. They worked around my schedule even though it was around the holidays and got the job done in a good amount of time. There was an issue with one of the paint colors in my bathrooms not matching with the paint sample I had wanted and Jason resolved the issue immediately. We have used CertaPro services on 2 occasions this summer, once to paint exterior trim on a house we prepared to sell. and then the interior walls of a newly purchased townhouse The staff were courteous and helpful with prompt estimates and in each case they provided the lowest estimate! The work was scheduled efficiently for both jobs each of which were very time sensitive. The painters arrived as scheduled and gave excellent service, with careful attention to preparation, with removal of blinds, edge taping, filling of small holes and the use of drop sheets at all times..(usually taped to the floor!). Both jobs were completed with 2 coats applied to all areas, on time and with excellent final results. We are very happy with the services provided by CertaPro and we are recommending this company to anyone who sees the finished work.

Had almost 1,000 square foot new deck stained. Times were explained and provided with regular updates. Have had nothing but compliments regarding how nice it all looks. Price was as quoted. I gave the go ahead on painting the exterior of my house in July. There has been no communication unless I call - I call for paint swatches, schedule, I was told that I had to pick up the samples and paint them on the house (which I refused to do - the PM did it after prompting), to inform the project manager of what is happening on his job site. The painters dropped off ladders in my backyard on a Sunday night without even calling. I heard a bang and it was a complete stranger- late - after 9 pm on my deck! Helped themselves and then left my gate open. Closing the gate seems to be a difficult concept to grasp even though I have brought my dog out and they see that I have one. There has been no discussion on schedules or specific needs for my family. My exterior has not been completed but I already am questioning the quality of workmanship. They have painted in bits and pieces with the paint that has been applied not covering, day 4 and at this rate, and the speed of the workers, the house won't be painted for another week. Then again how would I know when they intend on finishing? No one can be bothered to call and provide me with a schedule of work. Buyers remorse. Go with another company this is the worst service I have ever received!
