Max has a great crew that takes great pride in doing great work. They are professional, respectful, and will leave you with a quality product at a fair price. They added loose fill to our attic insulation to our 1960's home, installed multiple cold air flow vents in the roof, and properly secured/insulated a bathroom fan. They also re-textured our ceilings to give us a nice flat finish. We are looking forward to a warmer space this winter with no risk of condensation in our ceilings!

I hired Maxime to mud and tape a garage I had drywalled myself. He was the only company that actually came to the site to review the project with me. The rest just gave me a quote over the phone., He gave me some helpful tips that I could do to make his work turn out better which I was happy to do. The weather conditions were not favorable due to the long cold snap but he communicated this to me on a regualar basis and the final product turned out great. I would definitely hire Maxime for any drywall projects in the future.

I have contacted MKZ and met up with the owner Maxime to go over the scope of work for my house in Calgary in late 2019. We would like to legallize our existing basement suite. Maxime presented kn a very professional way. He did a great job and left the house clean after completion of the work. He has done great drywall and smoke tight for our ceilings so we can comply with the City of Calgary fire code. We contacted Maxime this year for replacing our existing insulation, vapour barrier and drywall, his company did a fantastic job again. We used MKZ to board, repair and mud and tape (level 5 ceiling) the main floor of our gut job home renovation. The boarders were very high level and fast. I hired MKZ to repair drywall patches/ holes in the ceilings and walls in our home. These holes were left as a result of us changing Poly B piping in our whole house. I also included the removal of popcorn texture in our main floor and installation of new knock down texture. Max was very accommodating in rescheduling the work after my electrician could not complete some of the electrical work in time that needed to be completed before start of drywall repair. Max started the work right on the revised day we agreed and gave me a schedule which worked for me as I was planning to go on vacation. Max and big Max (who did Mudding, taping, painting and popcorn removal) were both very professional, polite and accommodating. They ensured that the work areas are very well covered by poly before starting the work and cleared the poly at the end of each day and vacuumed and even mopped the wooden floors each day before they left. They are both very courteous and respectful while doing the work. Charles, the texture install guy and his crew were very Thorough in preparing the work area to ensure everything is properly covered by poly and no dust or texture material get on the walls or carpets etc. They also cleared the poly, vacuumed and mopped the floors before they left. They were also very accommodating to ensure we have a way to open our main door and also to go in the basement. The quality of the work Max, big Max and Charles performed is close to perfect. I recommend these guys any day and every day. They are one of the best contractors I have ever used. Thank you Max, Big Max and Charles for a job well done.

Visited a friend in Calgary and got to see what this owner was like. We thought he would be good to work with based on reviews but quickly found out they are fake, when he offered to pay us for a good review. Very unprofessional and could not stay off the phone long enough to make a quote. Very rude and difficult person to work with. Do not recommend at all and not good for a new company Added. They can claim as much fake reviews as they want to try and keep their paid off 5 star reviews. Treat your customers like trash and you get bad reviews. Oh, and I still have their business card.

No one regrets buying quality. MKZ Construction stood out even during the estimate phase of developing the basement. Other contractors were disorganized or disinterested and lacked any sense of urgency. This was not the case with Max at MKZ. The process was laid out clearly at all stages. He coordinated a team of highly skilled tradesmen that completed their part of the process to a high standard of quality work in a timely manner. There were no issues or delays with the various inspectors. The basement was finished in less than three months from initial estimate to project completion. The before and after pictures speak for themselves.

Tried hiring MKZ to do drywall in my house, he subbed out vapour barrier and spray foam, and those subs were great. Unfortunately, when it came to him and his crew doing any actual work, Maxime was far from professional. From stopping in-person conversations at my house to deal with his own personal side projects on the phone, to belittling my own career, to demanding a ridiculous amount of cleaning and material moving, and pressure "you have to book now" sales tactics, it was not a good process. When he couldn't get ideal perfect parking to unload material he decided to walk away. To top it all off, he buys good reviews. In his estimate/invoice directly: "*** A $50.00 discount is offered when a review is completed on GOOGLE or HOMESTARS. Please ask us for more info! ***" so, take all those high stars with a big grain of salt.

We had MKZ help us out after a big poly-b replacement job; the company fixed over 50 drywall/ceiling holes and the job took around 2 weeks. Overall we are extremely pleased with Max and his team. We had countless contractors over several months for this job and we found MKZ had the best communication and had the highest standard of work. We did end up expanding the scope of this job a bit and the price increase was very reasonable; usually pricing is more aggressive at this point since you are already captive but I'm very happy MKZ did not take advantage of the situation. Lastly, they did a bunch of things (ie, some extra painting and handling some fixtures) for basically no cost which we are also very thankful for. In terms of the individual staff, Johnathan, who fixed most of the holes, was really efficient and friendly. Big Max, the taper/mudder/painter, was exceptional. He is a perfectionist in some ways, which means he is willing to go the extra mile to make his work look amazing. Time is money for trades and we appreciate the willingness to deal with the minor details. Versus its competition we found that pricing was not the lowest but below the median of the quotes we received. We ultimately chose MKZ because Max was very detailed in what they were going to do exactly, which in some cases was more than competing quotes (ie, they will repaint an entire wall to blend while some will just patch the patch, or some will not paint at all). The company did ask for us to write an honest review, but we were not paid or compensated in any way.

We went through a very rigorous process of having our basement quoted for a little bit of framing, then complete drywall, mud and tape, and first prime. We wanted as many options as possible so ended up getting a total of 5 estimates done. It took me over a week to get the first companies to even schedule a time. I ended up going through Homestars which connected us to MKZ and was also referred to MKZ by a friend. I have to say. The immediate response from Max at MKZ was incredible.
