We first saw Johnathan's work hanging in a restaurant in Waterloo. After speaking with Laura, we were thrilled to hang a canvas print of "Matapica" over our living room mantle. It really makes the room. Laura was very helpful with the ordering and shipping process, and we can't wait to buy our next piece from Paint by Munzy.

I first discovered Munzy's art a few years ago when I found one of his calendars on a neighbour's lawn on Churchill St. I loved all the artwork (and was very confused as to why anyone would have discarded it) and treasured the calendar despite it having been rained on and being a bit tattered. I didn't realize they were complimentary until a friend mentioned that he had visited the gallery and got a few of them himself! It was always in the back of my mind to visit but it wasn't until this past Christmas that I wandered in. Laura is so friendly and supportive of her brother and his art, it's very heartwarming! I bought my Christmas cards there and the people I gave them to just absolutely loved them! I also received the "Blue Birch" canvas print as a gift and I've hung it up in my room and love waking up to it!

Absolutely love Johnathan's artwork. His talent shines through in every work he does regardless of the style of the piece. He can paint the most beautiful forest scene, capturing the essence of the moment, so you feel you are there. Or there are the stylized paintings, including the New York City Collection that so capture the mood of the moment. Some are breathtakingly beautiful and some are painfully moody. I have to visit the gallery a few more times before I can decide what piece I want to buy. Laura is an awesome gallery host, showcasing her brother's work fabulously. Jonathan Munz's work portrays landscapes that are reminiscent of the Group of Seven, but with his own unique Contemporary or Impressionist lens applied. So many stunning pieces; the "Killarney Rock Trees" piece is my personal favourite. Definitely to worth popping by the Uptown Waterloo Gallery for a print, a greeting card, or to view the exceptional display of original works. The brother-sister run gallery "Paint by Munzy" is one of the many treasures of the community.

I was downtown and saw Paint by Munzy. I had no idea it was even there! As soon as I walked in I fell in love with Johnathan's art. After talking with Laura I knew I had to get a piece. She was so helpful and gave me a calendar and told me to send her an email so we could pick out the right size and art for us. She even photoshopped in our favourite piece into a picture of our room so we could see what it would look like. Fantastic service, amazing art. I will definitely be getting more art from here in the future.

At Christmastime, my husband, son, daughter, and grandson attended the Munzy holiday party and enjoyed ourselves immensely!! His art is wonderful and it was great to peruse his paintings, enter the silent auction, taste refreshments, listen to the fabulous pianist, get a free calendar, buy some prints, meet Munzy and his sister, interact with the friendly helpers and other guests and friends....but the biggest thrill was to go in the photo booth complete with props with Munzy (although he did say not to tell anyone! lol I do think it was not really a secret or I would not tell!) Anyway, it was great fun!!

We commissioned a painting for my parents 40th anniversary. Our family loves Georgian bay and my father has a number of pictures from that area that are dear to our hearts. We loved Jonathan's work - especially some of this Georgian bay landscapes so knew immediately that he would be the best person to put one of my dads photos on canvas. Working with Laura was a dream. She is professional, courteous, funny, honest and is so kind. She worked with my parents to understand their desires for the painting and helped to narrow down a few photo options to pass along to Jonathan. Not only was working with her amazing, but the finished product took our breath away. Not only was Jonathan was able to paint a stunning piece of art but he was able to capture a feeling in his painting - one that we've all felt spending our summers in Georgian Bay. We loved the experience of working with them and are so happy with the finished product. I highly recommend Paint by Munzy in all they do!

Paul and I have followed Jon's work for many years. Once we retired we finally took the time to do a camping trip around the great lakes. We love our provincial and federal parks, however, Lake Superior Provincial Park was one of our favorites. We brought home some lovely shots of the shoreline and while looking at them, I thought, "this is a scene that Jon can bring to life'. So I dropped him a line along with a few shots and asked him if he would create a piece that I could give to Paul for his birthday. This magnificent original hangs on our wall and we have the good fortune to view it every day. Jon captures the essence and beauty of Canada's rugged landscapes in his own unique way.
