We originally hired Stephen’s edge to paint our master bedroom. We were getting ready to sell and had a very tight window of time before listing. Before they arrived, we asked them if they could paint out a feature wall in our family room that was orange. Once they had done that, we were so impressed with their work and how much better it looked, that we asked them to paint pretty much the rest of the main floor. We were getting ready to sell and had a very tight window of time. They got together a small army of guys to make it happen, were back in two days, and finished within a few days. They were very professional, very friendly, patched everything that we needed and did an excellent job. They even went through the entire house the day after finishing to make sure we were satisfied and do any touchups that were needed. I can’t thank them enough, because our house showed so well, it sold the day it got listed on MLS! I believe the fresh, neutral paint job was one of the reasons our house sold so quickly! Can't be a real contractor ???? ... showed up repeatedly on time when he said he would... quoted in a couple days... final bill was per quote... went out of his way to finish 1 room 1st to enable other reno to continue. I cannot recommend. Discussed the job expectations in detail regarding crack repairs first, pointing out plaster flaws to cover before painting Agreed on 2 coats and which cracks etc and instructions were not at all followed as agreed upon. Needed to hire another painter who honored his word and did the job right. Found Stephen to be deceptive. He presents himself one way before the job and another way after. I'm sure he will have a rude and unprofessional reply as you can see he has made for each negative review here vs addressing customer concerns in earnest. Very unfortunate. Not an ideal way to conduct business. Disrespectful manner. This is not a person concerned with consumer feedback. Just ego and appearances.

When we first contacted Stephen (the owner) for a quote, everything seemed professional on the phone. He showed up 1.5 hours late to give us an estimate, which is no big deal since we didn’t have to be anywhere. But after he did a quick walk around the house and gave us an estimate, his attitude all changed when we told him, we need 1 week to decide which painting company to choose for the job (as he was the first company to give us quote). Stephen has some serious attitude issues, and a horrible customer service. He is extremely arrogant, and putting pressure on us to only write you a 5 star review the first day you give us a quote is not brilliant business approach.

We have a 100 year old house that needed much more than a quick coat of paint since the old paint was alligatored and needed to be completely removed. Stephen's team took the time to get all of it off with an electric shaver and hand scraped where the shaver couldn't access. Not a fun job on an old Wolesley 2.5 story home. They then primed the entire surface and palm sanded it before applying a solid stain (Sharkskin). The end result is a fabulous looking house with a skin that should last for years to come. The job was completed as quoted with a few extras thrown in. I have no hesitation recommending Stephen and his crew - they are professional and conscientious.

You get what you pay for. We initially hired someone else to paint the exterior of our home at 1/2 the price but quickly realized we were not going to get the result we wanted and that we would have to scrape and repaint within a couple of years. When I contacted Stephen, he listened to what we wanted ( 2 storey wood siding house scraped down to the wood and painted) and delivered. His team was prompt, hard working and proud of the work they did. They did an outstanding job and we have absolutely no reservations recommending them.

A number of years ago I needed the stucco on my house redoing. I used the phone book to find a painter and after talking to several selected Stephen’s Edge. The job was messy as old stucco had to be pressured off and different colours used to repaint.(A grey with white and red trim) Five years later we decided to have much of the interior of the house repainted. As I have been pleased with the outside painting, I chose Stephen’s Edge again. My house is of the 40’s vintage meaning that edges are not straight, walls uneven and the ceilings ornate. We chose a lighter grey and white for the colours and some of the rooms used these colours more than once from wall to ceiling. This meant a lot of painting where the two colours met .i.e. free hand straight lines. The finish was good. We did use Stephen’s knowledge for advice on colours, texture and related issues. The painters worked steadily while they were working and were careful when moving furniture around and they were pleasant to have around our home.

Phoned for an estimate to paint the exterior of our house. Came when he said he would. Checked around the whole house and was very nice. Said he would get back to us in a couple days with an estimate. Contacted him four days later, said he was very busy and would get it for us that night or the next day. We are now well into the second week since he has been here and still haven't heard anything. If you don't want to do the job just say so. Not very professional.

My wife read the reviews and thought would send an email to stain our kitchen cabinets. Sent an email via his website, never heard from him for over a week, so she called him back personally. Spoke to Stephen, and asked if he got the email. He said, he is not sure? Ok.. Hmmm So, told him AGAIN what i was calling about (email was detailed). He advised he would check with another person he works with suggested to send pics of our kitchen cabinets. So, Sent pics same day. He never got back to her again. Obviously, we didn't go with him, but if he can't be bothered to reply to emails and have the common courtesy to get back to us either way, then I how dependable would he be?? I'm wondering if these reviews are from friends?? UPDATE: Oct 31/2015, I can see from this guys reply he is NOT Honest. our Telephone number was left with him as well. This guy wasted our time. Stephen is NOT trustworthy. I can see from other reviews that he has ASKED Customers to give him a 5 star rating!! This is BAD BUSINESS. I truly hope people read these reviews prior to using this guy. He is not being honest on here. I have been in customer Service for 25 plus Years this is not a man of integrity. He gave us a quote and I was really excited because it was reasonable but then I made and appointment for him to come back and look at a few rooms inside and he made the work sound so easy no big deal and then quoted me $2000 which was kind of crazy considering what he quoted on the outside of the house but then as he was leaving he said he needed to requote on the outside of the house because he didn't realize additional wood all around but he should have seenor looked for that the first time he looked and shouldn't of made much of a difference it was very minimal and he said he get back to us in two days and he took two weeks and that was with me bothering him and then he kept asking me the same question over and over back-and-forth on emails until he finally sent me an email basically telling me that he's too busy and to go somewhere else. Now knowing how he handles his business I would not trust him with my hard earned money, maybe he wouldn't Finnish the job, who knows.

Stephen's crew painted the exterior of our house this month. Their price was in line with 2 other estimates I got ( but with Stephen I got actual painters instead of "students" and a company that had WCB & liability insurance) Since our house hadn't been painted in 14 years I was leery of a "this needs more work than we thought with a corresponding price increase" but there were no surprises. I was especially impressed with the prep work that was done & priming before the actual paint went on. The finished job looks good now & I am confident that it will look good in years to come.
