To All Students and Starving Artists!
Their prices are really steep, not to mention poor inventory.
I paid $94 for 4 artists grade paints 2 of which are hues at 2.1 Oz.
Also I found that their knowledgeable staff is not that knowledgeable at all. When I purchased the paints they did not have a colour I needed in heavy body so the knowledgeable staff helping me, gives me a student grade colour and says. " Heavy body is heavy body it'll work fine". ARTIST COLOURS ARE WAY DIFFERENT FROM STUDENS . The following day I brought back all the colours unopened, unused, and they refused to take them back. The attendant said its printed on the receipt that we don't take back paint. I was furrious! I told her they have not been opened at all and for her to compare the weight from the ones in the shelf. I was furrious. I left the store. This is whats on the receipt:
" No returns or exchanges on items after 7 days without a receipt or on damaged or open products." "No returns on portfolios furniture airbrushes compressors paint brushes pens pencils markers books rulers surfaces papers mat boards canvas etc."
So you can't return anything? LMAO
Remember I paid $94 for 4 artist colours?
At Delta Art you can get 6 of the same 2.1 Oz Artist colours for $72.
At Deserres 8 artists colours of the same is $112.
So, after all this I went to Delta Art 11116 - 120 St. and purchased 9 Artist colours. Not hues, cadmium red, yellow, etc. 2.1 Oz at $113.20 + tax. So for like another $20 you get 5 more artist colours...
Laughable!!!
In short If you buy your products from here you will remain a starving artist!!!!
Hope this helps!
:)
P.S. By this time I had been coming into the store quite regularly, buying product every time.
Not being happy is such an understatement! I felt ripped off!!! And still do!
To answer you back:
Even though you're only blocks away I'll gladly go for a ride elsewhere to get my supplies. It doesn't matter what you do now or in the future, the damage was done a two weeks ago, you should have acted then. Not react when you get a bad write up! That is poor business sense and judgement.
Sure, I and every other student and artist keep their expensive artist colours it in the car out in the cold over night then we bring it in and put it in the furnace room to warm them up!
What you said is just absolutely ridiculous!
Also, the manufacturer of the brand of paints I bought are not getting rid of their cadmium line any time soon! Neither I or any one else, wants to hear lame excuses for poor customer service, poor judgement and decision making after the fact.
Thanks for the eye opening experience though!
