Nice place, but openings are kind of erratic. Some restaurants were only open on certain days. Many shops and restaurants closed on holidays. A few shops open especially for ship passengers, no matter if it's a holiday.

The colour & character of the buildings is very unique. It makes you want to keep walking to see what's around the corner - everything uphill. I certainly got my exercise but loved every minute. I actually had a woman stop & give me a little history of the area. The people are amazing.

Beautiful store with gorgeous plaque mounts, canvases and mailboxes of the charming row houses that make St. John's such a wonderful city! The row house paintings on slate are unique and one of a kind and capture the beauty and spirit of St. John's! Also sells lots of trinkets for the traveler, such as keychains, greeting cards, magnets, etc...

Lovely rows of colourful, coordinated houses called "Jellybean Row". It's a must see for tourist but also joyful to walk around by the locals. Which colour would you choose if you live here? I would probably choose either yellow or orange.
