Great concept and a great location. It was closed when I got here on Sunday but the view from the wharf was amazing. Got to talk to some local fisherman bringing in cod. And the close proximity to the brewery helps as well.

yu chen

Many artists working and selling art. Interesting to watch the process. When we went and spoke with a lovely artist (who I can't remember the name of) from BC. We bought some of her art and art from another artist. Recommended.

Cool concept, like an indoor flea market for various local crafter's and artists. I bought a mug.

pretty little harbor, but there are lots more where you can find somewhere to park. minimal craftspeople, only six when we got there. the only reasons i can see to go there are to hike the trail or visit the brewery.

Tania Castilhos

First we ended up in the neighborhood. A nice upscale -for the island. Then we went to the crafted for the tourist little place. A nice gallery with beautiful display and done Crafters working. It feels like you entered a painting. The falls, the boats, the colors... All feed the eyes with beauty

Nice location - it wasn't open when I got here - it was on Sunday. But what a quaint place to visit and walk the narrow streets. I was told it is one of the oldest fishing villages in the new world. Lots of history right there, yo!

It was an absolute pleasure to meet with artist Jennifer Morgan (Morgan's Printing) and discuss her pieces and process. Made owning a piece of her wonderful work all the more meaningful. We even took our piece on a little photo shoot outside ;)

Quaint fishing inlet. Filleting cod while I was there.

Gorgeous little plantation on a gorgeous scenic backdrop. The vendors up stairs have something unique for everyone. A must if staying in St. John's. Loved the view so much I got married here!

No restaurant just a food truck. Do servers. Serve yourself.

Over all great spot to visit great newfoundland art for sale there

Donald McKay

Upstairs, the Plantation features resident artisans and craft people who make and sell products from their individual 'shops'. You can watch them create and speak with them to learn about their art/craft. Downstairs can feature itinerant crafts people who are not based out of the Plantation.

Leanne Watt

Pricey but a nice idea for local artisans.

Helena Dang

This nice 2-story "mall" worths a stop. Shops typically runs by local artists who showcase their products here. Most of the items there are locally made, some even made on site. You can chat with them, have some ideas on how the products are made, etc.

(Translated) Peaceful place out of time.We can see the fishermen who prepare the fish. Nearby there is a small shack where you can enjoy fish & chips and even poutine with its Quebec cheese curds. Pleasantly surprised by the discovery of beautiful spaces in Newfoundland. Do not get me wrong Newfoundland is much bigger than we think, we plan to go back there to discover it, people are very friendly.

Loved the concept of workshops and local artisans being able to showcase their work. It’s great to see people crafting in a small town like this one. I would highly recommend a visit here!

Duane Quinlan

You have to wait for your food outside which is okay if weather is good. Table service was awful and left without even a sample. Parking is atrocious but Live music was good however.

We had an above-and-beyond experience at the QV Village Plantation last weekend. The artisans were welcoming and keen to tell us about their respective crafts and unique, high-quality creations. We all had a memorable time with the artists, and my daughter was inspired to make some leather creations, thanks to the kindness and encouragement of Stephen from Modjūl. I left something "key" at the plantation, and the receptionist was kind enough to find me, which saved us a lot of trouble. The space itself is glorious, with magnificent views of a picture-perfect village, like the ones below.

The artist's working here were all so nice! They answered questions about the techniques they were using. Its amazing to see all the action of how the beautiful craft is made. Each artist was doing something completely different and unique to make exquisite pieces of art. Some the art you can even wear! A must see if you are in the St. John's area.

Jim Deal

This building is located right in the historical Village of Quidi Vidi. There are a number of local artisans working their art. You can watch them work, ask them questions and even purchase what they have created. There is also workshops running a different times. There are washrooms inside the building along with a nice sitting area that looks out into the active small harbor.

Parking and attempting to drive in the village was difficult. Looks like some construction going on right in the middle. Artisans building nicely done with market style stores. Irish wood carver, Simon Collins, was awesome! Jacobean bean-to-bar chocolate was delicious. For artisan shopping, a good destination. However, for a picturesque fishing village, I prefer Petty Harbour/ Maddox Cove (20 minute drive south of St. John’s).

A shared venue for artists and artisanal craftspeople. The views are spectacular. There are walking trails nearby that will take you over the hills, where you can pick berries, take a seat and view the Atlantic Ocean, or hike farther along the trails. This is an awesome place located in Quidi Vidi village, excellent for all Newfoundlanders as well as tourists. Information can be obtained on the main level as well as use of washrooms, the upstairs boost small but efficient cubicles for artists to make and sell their products. There's amazing culture from pottery to string art, inks and paints to leather products, from babies wear to puffins, wonderful artistry. A must see if you're in the village.

Their Iceberg beer is magnificent, and if you'll pardon the pun, it really is just the tip of the iceberg. If you're in St. John's, make sure to take a trip out to Quidi Vidi and try a few of their fantastic brews!

Craig Cook

Beautiful spot. If you can, be considerate of those with accessibility issues, park at Quidi Vidi Lake and walk in. Not many places to park, within. This 500 year old fishing village confined in a small harbour wasn't built with car traffic in mind, of course :)

Steven Johnstone

Peter Morgan

Lovely building and worth a visit. We went to something advertised as a weekend Christmas market. We didn't really see anything Christmas about it (no decorations, Christmas crafts, etc) so it was only okay. But we might try again sometime. Wasn't a bad excuse for a drive to scenic and historic Quidi Vidi.

Interesting local artists. There are about 8-10 small workshops upstairs where local artists are working/selling their work. Make sure to check their hours ahead of time as they seem to be open weekends only in winter. Also, a good spot to take pictures of Quidi Vidi. To try and avoid struggling to park, try parking at the "Sugarloaf Path Parking" and taking the short, wheelchair accessible path/bridge over.

Barry Dawe

Fantastic maker's market at plantation today ... sat dec 19th. Lots of great stuff and we bought plenty! Well worth stopping by to have a look at some unique and fabulous locally made things. Please support local this year!
