Edit: No more 50% off coupons, no point in coming to this overpriced store. Dollarama is an affiliate store, so you can find a lot of Michaels items there for an actually reasonable price. Don't like coming here after some genius decided to create "Everyday Value" items. You can't use your coupon on these items, and the everyday deal is just a few dollars knocked off the original price; the coupon would have been a better deal in the long run. More and more items keep getting added to the coupon restrictions as well. Came here to compare bench scrapers, theirs was 4x price of the one I bought, and mine had a ruler on it. I found the perfect one at Winners for $4.99, not a whopping $19.99 plus tax. Even if I used a 50% off coupon, it'd still be double the price.

This store used to be fun and exciting to shop in, with friendly staff greeting me and able to help. However, that seems to have changed over the last few months and it is very quiet and rather depressing. On my last visit, I actually thought someone was stalking me -- I was looking at seasonal and a man kept walking past and kind of peeking at me from the end of the aisle which was quite unnerving. Turns out he worked there, but didn't ask me if I needed help or anything, or even make himself known other than peeking at me and then retreating when I looked his way. Maybe because I'm an aboriginal person he thought I was stealing something instead of shopping? I noticed his vest as I was walking to the till and he told me to have a good day. Other than the cashier that was at the till when I walked in and the creepy employee peeking at me, I didn't see anyone else in the whole store. Luckily I knew where things were, otherwise I probably would have walked out in frustration at the lack of service and hospitality. I don't think I'll be going back though. I'd rather order my supplies online.

For several years the closest Michaels to me was 90 miles away, so I was thrilled when a store was built literally 5 mins. from our home! I generally visit the store a couple times a month, however if I am mid project, or it is a specific season, Christmas for example, I am sometimes visiting weekly. The staff are friendly and helpful, product is always available when I require it, only drawback can be the prices. (I especially dislike when the US price is still attached to the product, as it is always cheaper than the Canadian price). Thank goodness for sales and the discount coupons!

My friends and I attended a cake decorating class @ this Michaels and we all had such a good time learning so much about decorating cakes, cookies and cupcakes! At 1st we felt very rushed, but it got way better as we all started getting the jist of it. It's a good Michael's, nice and large. Things move around a lot, so if you haven't been here in a while, it might be a bit tricky to hunt specific things down. Sometimes a bit disorganized, but I feel this is partly due to the above rearranging. Staff usually perky and happy to help, though have run into a few who seem annoyed by who knows what. Crafts and painting is always worth ignoring those few flops though!

Michaels store is a bit lacking for some materials specially in the baking section/chocolate candy making. I wish they would expand their brands like adding colour mill, chefmaster, etc. The online stock is quite inaccurate as well and I’ve had a incorrect order when I did curbside pick up twice now. I’m glad the stores are open because the online stock is awful.

I love this store! They have everything you need if art is your hobby. If you find them a bit pricey just ask for the coupon (there is always a 40 or 50% off coupon). The staff are really good too. I bought something and lost it when I left the store because there was a hole in my bag and the manager let me get a new one.

if Zero Stars was an option I would have chosen that. On a Saturday, around 11am I went into Michaels to have 3 items matted and framed into 1 large picture frame. At the time i was shocked to find out that for a custom frame it would take 2 weeks. The woman working told me that I would be able to do a custom matte that would take 48 hours and to come back on Monday with my items. Upon doing that, the manager was working. She told me that this was not possible that a custom matte with more than 1 opening would also take 2 weeks Instead of trying to rectify the issue by giving me solutions all she did was throw the associate working under the bus. She was more interested in calling out the worker than fixing our issue. no help to us at all. We had expressed that this was for our Wedding that was a week away. Major misinformation was given. I was quoted a price of over $120. Ultimately I was able to get a matte cut and put into the frame with my images in under 2 hours for $90 cheaper. DON`T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH MICHEALS. They will tell you what you want to hear. This is some of the worst customer service that i have ever received.

You can fill your crafting needs here but do your price checking first. They don't have as much in store as online. Check your product before you buy it as I have had a few flawed piece I had to return. You can also find crafting storage, framing, and decorations like a cute little fall fox. Great place to help you get started in almost any craft.

I have no issue with Michael's except that they don't always have what I need, which is whatever. I like their coupons. I won't say staff is the most knowledgeable, but I don't think retail in a chain shop should entail anyone be an "expert." Google the stuff you need before you ship for it to save yourself time, trial and error, or needing to ask advice. I love the coupons!

Its a pretty robust little craft store, where you can find a bit of everything and some things you cant find any where else locally. The downside is everything is twice the price from online so the only option is to use coupons if you need something. Their house art supplies are actually pretty decent for the price and the framing section is down in house which is nice and hard to find these days. Staff are pleasant and know their way around the shop. Seasonal items are put out way in advance of the season but are usually high quality and unique. Its a pretty decent store all in all.

My wife ordered an item for curbside pick up, on arrival She parked and got out to get the item (so much for meaning of curbside), the staff refused to hand her the item and asked her to get back to the car, demanded she drive up to the curb, and then to step out of the car to pick up the item. The products that only Michaels sells are if great quality and deserves to be 5 stars however it is disappointing to see other items that can be purchased from other stores for a 1/4 of the price. Went in to get some art supplies and saw they had 60% off on canvas so we grabbed 3 of them. Went up to the register and they said that sale was done. I told them to sign was still up and so they radioed the staff to go check, I also made my way that way but by the time I went they took down the signand said it was never up. They forgot to remove it but it was there when I got the supplies. They did not honor the fact that they forgot the sign up and argued that it was never up. This review is now a month or so after the above one and a month into the lockdown. I called to get some help on finding an item that I wasn't able to find online. The lady I spoke to at 4:20pm was so reluctant to help. I knew you had to order online but I asked her for help to see if they had the stock. She kept on telling me she couldn't look for it and that I had to order online. I called a different store and they were able to help me right away and they gave me the location that had my item in stock.

Clean and well stocked. Currently downsizing their bead and jewelry-making supplies. Fine art seems on a bit of an upswing. Discrepancies between "price check machine" and checkout prices not caught until home going over bill. Disappointed.

Lady who helped us find what we were looking for was great but our experience was soured by an older lady who checked us out. She did not care or have any patience to work as a cashier. Tidy store, likely would have given 5 stars if our check-out experience was better. Please take note as we'd love to shop here if it was better.

Overall the store is fine. It is clean and the employees are nice. However, I mostly use Michaels for cross-stitch supplies, and the selection at this store is very sparse. The Niagara Falls location stocks a better variety of embroidery supplies.
