I was pleased with how prompt and efficient everyone I interacted with was. I had asked for multiple quotes from CertaPro (with paint, without paint, including this door that ceiling etc) and I was provided all requests quickly. Their quotes are very detailed and easy to understand. Once I was ready to proceed they scheduled me in quite quickly. The painters showed up on time and were happy to work with whatever little idiosyncrasies I had. They did their best. There were a few oversights, but nothing worth a negative comment. Typically I've done all the painting in my house and I was so pleased to hand this over and the results were better and faster that what I could have done. My one and only feedback is that I was told CertaPro "colour matches" and could easily colour match what I had on my walls. When the painter arrived he said the "closest" colour he could get was... and it turns out to be so very close, but definitely not a match. I am happy with the colour, but I would have preferred knowing it was close instead of thinking it would be a match.

We had a dumpy week of weather for getting our exterior brick stained but I received daily updates as to the status of our job. There was never any "I wonder if they are coming today?" We had made it very clear that the painters only come after a certain date. We emailed a few days before and the response came on a Sunday at lunch time. They advised us that 1 painter (we were told a team) would be there the next morning. which was the day before we had advised us we would be available. That was a problem since we were getting electrical work done and the power would be off a good part of the day. We were forced to re-arrange everything with less than 12 hours notice with my wife being pregnant and 2 kids including a disabled daughter to care for. The painter called us that night after 9pm, which is not acceptable and had really not too much info about our job. He had not been told the power would be off. The day of, only 1 painter showed. Asked when the power would be on. We stated that is why we asked the company only to book for the next day or later. There was an issue with the painter stating the doors, trims, and baseboards were not included which they were based on our quote. He painted a bedroom and a kitchen/dining room and was finishing up by 4pm at which point I asked if he had painted a feature wall in a different color as asked. He said no I was not advised. So after calling the company, he went out and got the color and painted the wall. He was here by himself 10 hours. The job was rushed. Paint on our small appliances, floor, counter tops, inside our outlets, on the painted white trim. Communication was atrocious and multiple issues. This was all blamed on a manager on vacation.

I was provided a quote and they were able to complete the job and actually even touched up a couple plays not listed on the quote at no additional charge. The painter discovered some rot on one of my door trims and rather then just paint over it, he brought it to my attention and then we assessed the situation and arranged to fix the problem correctly before painting. We hired CertaPro painters to paint the soffits, facia and brackets of our Victorian home as well as wash eaves. The estimator came out and took pictures and measurements and understood exactly what was to be done. When painters arrived, two, they had no idea of the scope of the job and did not have the correct equipment to reach the areas to be painted. Their ladders were not long enough. They left and didn’t return for two days as they needed the longer ladders. In summary the one young man did a good job with the actual painting but they did not have the proper safety equipment. Our house is very high and they were using techniques that were not safe. There was also a language barrier. Sam, the young man who did almost all of the painting came each time but with different assistants who could not speak a word of English. This made it difficult to communicate. There was no supervisor on the job. There was no schedule as some days they came early and some days late. We had to provide the caulking. They had no caulking even though this was included in the contract. One day I caught one man adding WATER in an almost full can of paint. This was unacceptable and I told them so. The can was taken away and new paint was brought back the next time they returned to work. Sam did a great job scraping, and painting. He also did a good job washing the eaves by hand. If it weren’t for him this job would have never been completed. We were assured that we would have experienced professional painters but this was questionable. No professional vehicle, no sign put out front, no proper equipment to do the job Safely.

Billy and the boys from Certapro were utterly exceptional!!! This was a HUGE undertaking. We needed to cover 2" thick "popcorn" plaster on our living room ceiling (we called it our "mashed potato look"). What we thought would be an impossible task was done to complete perfection. The ceiling could not possibly look better. To make it even better, the crew cleaned and swept every day and Billy ensured that he kept us updated regarding each phase of the project. We had CertaPro Painters come and paint most of the rooms in our home. We have a large 5 bedroom house with 17' ceilings in our main living area and foyer. I believed that this was going to cause a lot of disruption for us because we work/school from home and it was a large job. The team was amazing. We barely knew they were here. They did the most amazing work. The house looks so different and we are so happy with it. The team asked us the usual typical Covid-19 questions every morning and despite their hard work, wore the masks continually. They also cleaned everything up every night and after the job. I am the manager at Alexanian Flooring, unfortunately sometimes in our profession scuffs and ight damage can happen when replacing your carpet on stairs and in your rooms, but having a contact like Paul and his team at CertaPro Painters on your side really helps! We had a customer who was ready to sell their home and putting in the runner was the final step 2 days before photos. Unfortunately a little bit of damage was caused on the stringers of the hardwood stairs while installing a runner. I had made 1 call to Paul and his team, and by noon that day there was a plan in place to rectify the issue. They were able to have the stair stringers fixed and as good as new before the photo were done!! My client was extremely excited as Paul and his team worked quickly and efficiently to have this problem solved.
