It's like a warehouse. They have lots of stock, great prices and friendly staff. Don't expect any fancy displays or anything like that. It's a nofrills store that allows them to pass along savings to customers.

I bought a bed 4 months ago $1000 with mattress from surplus furniture but it was wasted bcz of poor quality they bring all the stuff from china which is useless and rough in quality and bed frame was broken from bottom because they use poor quality of wood so I suggest all the customers think twice to buy something from this junkyard. So they don’t deserve even a single star.

Got some good deals there but it can be hit and miss. Some end tables came with 1 inch screws that were too short when the instructions indicated 1&1/4 inch screws. Staff are friendly and helpful. Good for a DIYer.

Unfortunate that the management has been upside down. Bought a mattress the first of the summer, it's terrible. Changed management hands 2 times and still waiting to get my 10 year warranty back as the mattress is faulty! Sent in pics 4 times and they have been rejected all 4 times as I have not taken them at this certain angle, yet-- they can't show me a demo of how to take the correct picture in order to get my money back....or to have my mattress replaced! I own a tourist destination in the Atlantic provinces and this is a tell tale of a company who won't be getting my money for 18 new mattresses for my cottages! As is on floor! Don't expect any funds or replacements here! Update; New management came in and it has been a amazing experience now. Cleared up my concerns and even gave me a little bit if a discount for my troubles. Would recommend this place for all your furniture shopping!

Really good prices , I was amazed how good the quailty was compared to brick,Leons etc.. same quailty, same Ashley truck delivery and wayyy better prices. The male staff in the back room who helps you load the stuff was pretty rude but the price made up for it

In early January my husband and went to store and the service was great. We ended up ordering a coffee and end table set. We put a down payment on it and remainder would be paid upon delivery. We were urged to make the down payment because the only set that was there was the display set and when the store got more in that the price could go up as much as $50.00. We did not pay for delivery as we have a truck and we could pick up the set when it arrived. The time of delivery on the invoice was the 19th of January. So, that date came and went. About a week and a half after this date I called the store and asked for the gentlemen that served us on the day we ordered. He insured me that there was a truck due within the next day or two and that our tables would be on that truck. There was also another gentlemen right beside and I could clearly hear him say the same thing. He also told me that we were first on their list and they did not forget about us and they will call as soon as the tables were in. So now we are into February 13th and we hear absolutely nothing from your store. My husband went into the store with our invoice and cancelled the order. No one asked him why he was cancelling and no one tried to find out why the delivery was taking so long. No questions asked,they canceled the order. My husband got the impression that the order was'nt placed at all because they were so quick to give him his money back. They were quick to make a sale but not so quick to deliver the goods. Not sure if I will be going back if this is the kind of service that customers going to get.

Prices are right and staff is very friendly. However that being said phone calls make me feel like I'm getting calls from a Drug Dealer. I don't mind but it might phase some people. Great prices and packages. I'll update when the funiture is delivered later this month.

Myself and my Husband dealt with Andy and Shaun when we were looking for a couch. We had just moved to PEI and I had seen the warehouse advertised online so decided to visit. We were so impressed by their friendly demeanor, knowledge and pressure free sales stance. We went for a beautiful grey sectional couch that was made in Ontario, it was delivered 1.5hrs later, unpacked and set up in less than 5 mins. Delivery lads were excellent too. We will 100% visit here first before any other stores. Thanks again for the amazing service!

I was browsing around furniture stores in Charlottetown today needing a Queen mattress immediately and had no luck until I called Surplus and found out they had one for me - priced and all ready within minutes. Left within 5 minutes with a brand new Queen mattress! The owner was over the top friendly. Great price! Great people! Checked almost all the furniture stores in Charlottetown - and these guys had the best price! ????????

Loved it me stepson and I went in for a visit and we couldn't be treated any better. Great products affordable everything's either in factory bags wrapped up and in cartons without paying all the overhead,which is nice you get what you pay for. And it's all the industries leading name brads, they also have a flexible layaway plan. ☆☆☆☆☆

After working in retail for many years, anyone can appreciate any retail worker with outstanding customer service. I am beyond satisfied with the employee who assisted me today, and I definitely plan on going back when I need more furniture. Hopefully to be assisted by the same employee, granted they are all wonderful people. Although, the employee who assisted me today, Andy, always had a big smile, made me laugh multiple times, and most of all knew all the information about the product that I asked about. Overall, an outstanding experience. I will definitely be referring family, and friends.

Ill take responsibility for giving a "surplus" place a chance. But I know I won't return to a Surplus store so I may as well help others avoid the bother. Firstly, I ordered over 3K worth of furniture yesterday morning, hoping for it to be delivered the same day (as they advertise) because I relocated to the island from across the country and desperately needed furniture. Of course, after they had me pick out some items, they let me know that I wouldn't be able to get the furniture delivered until the next day. They use private movers whom you have to pay cash to, so when I pointed out that they delivered an incorrectly oriented chaise attachment for my sectional, I was SOL. So I contacted the salesperson, who did have a replacement chaise sent a couple of hrs later (to his credit -thats why there are two stars rather than one). Now that I've unwrapped the sectional (no setup available), I've discovered scuffs on the back of the main section. Who knows what else is subpar, but this is enough to know that they got me and all I can do is warn others.

Very disappointed with this Company. We purchased a sofa/love seat set, and after 4 months the arm rest lost it's stitching. The couch was replaced via the manufacture. Less than 2 years later, the same thing has happened and they are denying warranty. We did purchase the 5 year total protection package as well, but this is not part of what is covered, yet it was covered for the first replacement. My recommendation if you purchasing the warranty package, is to completely review what you are paying for, because from my experience, there are a lot of way's out for the Company from providing coverage down the road. Stating on the website that warranty is hassle free is far from the truth. I would expect a couch to last longer than a year and a half for the cost to purchase it, so this type of quality and service is not something that would drive me to come back to the store, or promote a good experience of support from the Company when asked where my couch/love seat was purchased from. *Update* After being denied through the company that provides the warranty support, Jeff at Surplus reached out to me directly to discuss my concerns. He could have easily just left thing alone, but instead he called to try and figure out an option that would improve the situation and in the end, not leave me with a ripped couch. Thanks to Jeff and his direct service to rectify my concerns, we were able to come up with a plan that was satisfactory for the both of us. Thanks to Surplus and Jeff for showing what customer service is all about!

I am very much upset with this company. I had bought a bed box spring mattress in November as well as a sectional couch.had called in December where the spring came up through the couch asked to send proof of picture in which I did .never heard back from anyone I ended up in hospital with surgery when I got out called again same thing send picture and we will get back to you .nope again nothing .contacted again a week ago was told manager was no longer with them and there was a new manager and he was not able to get into old managers files so let's start process over again. Was told there head office manager would be in that same day and they would get back to me later that day .almost two weeks later and no response from anyone .the bed the coils are coming up through mattress again nothing about it either. I have the warranty on both pieces of furniture. A piece of advice do not pay the extra for the warrant because they don't even bother to reply back .if I don't hear from someone by end of next week I am going fully local and let all OF PEI no what a crappy customer service they have and to stay away from SURPLUS there there to take your money and push the warranty but will not bother to do anything when there is a problem . PS . I CAN GIVE YOU OTHER FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO WENT THROUGH SAME CRAO IM GOING THROUGH .PAY THE EXTRA FOLKS AND GO TO BRICK OR LEONS AND GET FURNITURE THAT WILL LAST LONGER THEN A FEW MONTHS AND HONOR THERE WARRANTY OR AT LEAST REPLY BACK TO YOU AFTER 11 MONTHS OF CONSTANT CALLING AND EMAILING THEM .

I wouldn't recommend this store to anyone looking for anything that is of decent quality. Bought 2 couches at the Charlottetown store less than a year ago. Both practically came apart at the seams. I was told on the phone to bring all the cushions in for replacement but when I showed up with them no one seemed to know what I was talking about. They offered me 2 cushions which would look rediculous along side the other 4 that had tears in them too as well as having lost all their form. Will not being going back for anything ever again. Wasted my money!! Don't go here if you're looking for quality furniture!!!
