Unfortunately I can't leave zero stars but this company is what nightmares are made of. I live in a housing co-op currently getting 3 million dollars in upgrades and this is how professional they are, they rip out my kitchen and install a new one with no doors or covers for two weeks. Then they decide to mud which wasn't done properly and had to be redone the day they came to paint, because of that they didn't sand properly and left chunks behind not to mention areas with drips and streaks. Now on to the bathroom which had mold issues but I was patient as I knew renovations were happening soon. They ripped out my vanity and put a new one in and then decided to leave for the day leaving us with no toilet. A carpenter came over and installed the toilet (I wonder if that's a conflict with the Collage of Trades?). When they installed the new vent they moved it over because of the plumbing vent being in the way, so when I came home to the new vent there was a 10"×10" hole in my ceiling with moldy attic insulation falling down into the toilet. So now they have to rip out all my drywall and guess what?? All my new stuff had to be pulled out resulting in my toilet getting broken and the vanity never went back in properly. I guess because of timing they left my bathroom completely gutted with no insulation on the walls making my house cold, but to top it off they left all the drywall screws in the wall for my children to walk into and nails on the floor to step on (we have only 1 bathroom). After this they left us with no bathtub/shower for 8 days! (Not a fun week with 6 people living here). Then to top off their incompetence they left the cover to my vent inside of the drywall leaning against an electrical line. If your looking for something cheap then they're your people but you'd be better off hiring a bunch of 15yr olds, at least there you'll get some craftsmanship.

HCS recently renovated the bathrooms and kitchens in our 40 unit townhouse complex. The conditions they had to work under were sketchy at best. 3 month timeline due to a grant which left little to no time for planning and fabrication, multiple changes mid-work from our end, surprises/more work behind every wall, etc, etc. Despite all this, the project was finished on time! Our kitchens and bathrooms are now mould free, sparkly new and beautiful. They handled every change order with grace. They took care of any complaint we had with class. A huge thank you for sticking with us through all this and doing a wonderful job!

401..630 am. Driver is already going 120 km/h, tries to prevent me from merging into fast lane to avoid a trucker, tailgates me and flashes high beams. Then continues to tailgate and keep his high beams on me while driving in a very busy portion of the 401. Very unprofessional, not to mention very dangerous driver. This is the kind of stuff accidents are made of and judging by the reviews.... this company speaks for itself not only in workmanship, but professionalism and courtesy. Not very happy this am.

Awful work ! I had a couple pieces of tile base board fall off. Contractor came out and mortared the tiles back on, but didn't grout. Complained to my resident managers and they had a contractor come back to do the grout. Well first off the grout is not even the same colour, and they left a complete mess. Why should it be my responsibility to clean up after the "contractor". If you're looking for quality work, this is NOT the place to call. Terrible work.

How is this company in business?? I’m a contractor that has been working in co ops for years. Watching their punctually, workmanship Has been quite funny., a two week job and nothing has been done by week 3... No wonder you’ve been fired!!!! As a professional I urge all that read these reviews to take them to heart. , this company does not care about timelines or customers. Do not hire this company!!!!!

I'm an resident manager of a property complex in Windsor. As such I have to deal with many contractors from various companies and I have to say HCS so far has been my favourite. Everybody is always very polite, the project manager is very efficient and professional and they all go above and beyond by staying till the very late hours of the night or early hours of the morning to complete a project when I need them to. I was puzzled by reading some of these horrible reviews and thought I'd place my positive input into it as there's always two sides to a story. I always get a confirmation email before they show up and I always get multiple phone calls afterwards to make sure that I was satisfied by the job. I've never had an issue with the time of a project needing to be completed and many of my colleagues agree when we discuss our every day ordeals... The bottom line is that whether I need a Paint Job, a bathroom renovation, a kitchen renovation, tiles being installed, flooring put in, anything at all to do with my apartments from top to bottom, I trust HCS more than any other contractor I've worked with in the past and will continue to do so as long as they stay this way.

This has been the worst renovation project I have ever encountered. They were aware of the time constraints that this project had to be done yet nothing but excuses as far as items on backorder and such were given. I was without a stove for 2 days and without a shower curtain rod for almost 2 weeks so I could not take a shower. They put holes in my bathroom and kitchen walls which are still yet to be repaired, stained my living room carpet,entrance carpet and upstairs carpet. I had no kitchen cupboard doors for over a month . They moved my stand over the toilet and broke it . They left a complete mess that took me over an hour to clean up in the kitchen . They absolutely do not clean up after themselves . No renovations to be done in the living room so there is no reason whatsoever for them to be in my living room and drop Caulking and plaster all over my carpet. The bathroom renovation was just as sloppily done as the kitchen Not only is there holes in the wall but there's caulking all over and plaster the bathtub, the floor, my blinds, counters, floors, walls, the back of my door and toilet still has not been replaced. I found the workers to be very rude and disrespectful and on one occasion came home and my door was left wide open after a contractor had been in there supposedly doing work. Nothing has been completed on time and there's been nothing but excuses. I would never recommend this company and if I could score them at a zero I would.
