I had two pieces of furniture that were already painted and varnished and I wanted to refinish them because I didn’t want to replace them but they don’t match my new look. I was googling how to do it and I didn’t want to sand and it seemed quite complicated. My brother in law said to me, “go to Benjamin Moore, they’ll set you all up there”. Went in on Friday and I forget the name of the person I was speaking with but she was very helpful and she said the best way to do it is to buy this special cleaner that strips the vanish off and then a special paint. Bought it and the cleaner worked well, I could clearly see the finish coming off. I did two coats of paint of both pieces after that. The dresser was looking great but the mirror did not look so good (probably because I didn’t use enough of the cleaner on the mirror). I called the store and spoke with Jenny who recommended a primer, drove to the store right after and dealt with Jenny and she sold me the primer and gave me a 10% discount for my troubles. When I was in the store another girl was on the phone dealing with an irate customer. I feel like people get mad at the people who work here because they don’t follow the instructions they were given properly and then they freak out at them and there’s really no reason for that. Did two coats of the primer on my mirror and then painted it and it all worked out. They do know they’re stuff here and they are very helpful. Would definitely come back here if I have another paint project.

Great service until you go back with paint that is the wrong colour. Snotty service, full of attitude and insistant it is the right colour. I spent a lot of money in there too. Left with the same paint, no offer of alternative or to help solve the problem... will never go back Some staff need a course on customer service.

I am extremely pleased with the quality of service I received at this location. The owners were so nice and helpful and the painting tools I purchased here were a better price compared to Home Depot. I had to drive a bit to reach this location, however I will be coming back in the future for all my painting needs!

We purchased some trim paint at Canadian Tire that wasn't very durable, but we really liked the tinted colour. So, we went to Bayleys to get them to match it with a better quality paint. The staff member was incredibly helpful and spent a good amount of time tinting and re-tining it until she could get the perfect match! So incredibly helpful! Will definately return :)

2 girls running the store, most unfriendly service I’ve received. They mixed the paint and don’t even show you the colour mixed, came from out of town so would’ve liked to see the colour. When I asked for a bag to carry all my stuff out to the car she rolled her eyes at me. When I asked for a squirt of hand sanitizer she said there was some at the front door and it was nowhere to be found. Certainly hope they weren’t the owners treating people this way. Will not return to this store ever.

Only paint I will use. Quality beats Behr and other for coverage, and durability. Won't crack or peel in hot or steamy areas. And it won't chalk off years later. Won't come off onto your cleaning cloth when trying to scrub dirty spots. Expensive but you get what you pay for. Staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
