I recently hired My Next Home Reno to renovate a 75 year old cottage that I recently bought. The scope of the project included demolishing most of the interior, building and relocating interior walls, installing a support beam to open up the living space, a new kitchen, a new 3-piece bathroom, installing tongue and groove on the interior walls, installing nine windows, replacing wood siding, rebuilding the deck, removing an old stove pipe and patching the roof, and replacing all of the electrical wiring and breaker box. I've hired several contractors over the years but this was, by far, my largest renovation project.
I sought quotes from seven different contractors. My Next Home Reno's quote was reasonably priced and competitive, but more importantly, I found them to be extremely professional, quick and thorough with their responses to my questions, and transparent with their quote. Although Don and Chad, the President and VP respectively, have several years of experience in the trade, I have to admit that at first I had some reservations about hiring them as they are a relatively new company. However, their openness and professionalism gave me enough confidence to move ahead with them, and I can honestly say I have no regrets about the decision.
Almost immediately, in January 2019, they began work on my three-season cottage. They worked steadily throughout the winter months, often in -30 degree temperatures! James, their Operations Manager, kept me up-to-date on their progress, sending photos and videos, and regularly consulting with me about the direction of the work, finishes I was hoping to achieve, etc. I work in the arts and design field and am, admittedly , quite picky about the details, so I really appreciated his willingness to consult and include me in the decision-making.
My Next Home Reno recently completed my project. They managed to stay on budget and stick to their original quote, which I found quite remarkable given the scope and complexity of the project. There were only a few very small increases for unforeseen items that arose during the project, or for jobs that I added to the project along the way. They also managed to complete the work within a reasonable amount of time.
I was so impressed with the quality of the work and their professionalism as a company that I recommended them to a family member, who has now hired them to complete an addition on his cottage. So far, that project appears to be going just as well.
Given my experience, I would have absolutely no reservations hiring this company again, and would recommend them for any type of building or renovation project.
