I moved here a year ago and have been going to this dollarama ever since because its the only one around. I went in with my fiancé and my new kitten as we didn’t want to leave her home alone. (I have done this 3 other times on past occasion with my other 2 cats and new puppy) However, this time was different, I was stopped in the aisle by someone that worked there and told me I wasn’t allowed in the store with my kitten. She informed me it was due to them having food (but everything is packaged) and I have also gone into grocery stores with my kitten and what about service animals. She said there is a sign on the door so I checked on the way out and there was a SMALL sticker under the handle (so you have to be a child to see it) with a circle ⭕️ with dog and a line through it. Dollarama you just lost a customer for your terrible customer service and discrimination and I hope others who were in the store that were also updated by me being kicked out have similar reactions.

New Dollarama to Hope BC July 2020. Plenty of good quality products for reasonable prices, especially for garden items, workout gear (yoga mats, resistant bands), bicycle gear and pet items. They also carry all the usual house-wares, camp gear, cleaning products, etc. To avoid congestion, aisles are clearly marked one-way, and there is a limit to number of people in the store at a given time. Some staff were masked up, others were not. Generally I'm not keen on the usual dollar store 'junky' offerings, but was impressed with many of their good quality items, like these solid ceramic plant pots and 'bobble' mushroom decorations.

We will never shop at this store again. My wife wanted to get a charging cable for our Pixel phone. She asked the clerk if the package could be opened to make sure it was the right fit. When the clerk said "No", we said then we'd have to return it if we found it was the wrong fit. Then the clerk said, "Oh no, you can't return it if the package is open". The dollar store across the road is SO much better. They were happy to try out what they had on our phone.

I love being able to get things at a cheap price and you can get just about everything that you need here. I have had some bad experience with staff. Like when I was about 12 i agitated a woman in the parking lot who was flipping me off and she got out and chased a 12 year old boy through the store and the staff members got mad at me when this woman was trying to grab me by the back of my jacket.

Me and my friends were shopping there. The time was around 7.55pm the store supposed to close by 9 pm but one of the CSR comes to us told us to leave in 5 minutes without giving any reason. The way she was talking was very rude and looks discriminate to me. I feel very angry and leave the store immediately without buying anything so did most of the other students who were out there.
