HomeFront was one of the recipients of The Urban Painter's 'Paint 4 Good' initiative. As a charity with a very limited budget to freshen up our space, this was an incredible gift. They were super professional and friendly throughout our experience! The designer we worked with to pick colours was super knowledgeable and listened to exactly what we wanted and helped us to execute our vision! The painters were timely, accommodating, clean, professional, paid attention to detail and did an amazing job of transforming our space.

Our whole experience with The Urban Painter was excellent. These guys were a class-act all the way through the process - efficient and skilled, and responsive to our needs. They bent over backwards to make sure communication was clear before the job started, were courteous and friendly while in our home, and incredibly accommodating for a couple quick touchups after everything was dry. Had our whole main floor including vaulted stairwells done, and it took less than two days. The whole process was completely noninvasive, and the guys were very tidy and conscientious. I interviewed 3 companies to paint my kids rooms as my daughters was purple and my sons was blue. I needed to make these rooms neutral again, not an easy task. We hired Urban Painters because they actually came to our house to assess the work and provided a quote where the other companies did not. We booked Urban Painter last year for work to be done this year. Then the pandemic hit and I was worried that they might have gone out of business and our large deposit would be lost. But no...instead they contacted me and organized a time for them to inspect and power wash our house. The dates were pushed back to accommodate our family and they were very gracious. They showed up everyday on time and well prepared. There was a foreman who was there every day, plus other managers who were there to help or check on things. One evening, it was the manager who stayed late to finish a section off for the next day. The staff were very polite and friendly. We did not hear anyone using bad language and all smoking was kept well away from our house. It took two days to prep our house and they were meticulous about taping and protecting the neighbours houses from overspray. They did two coats on the whole house and we are thrilled with the results. The foreman walked through everything with us to ensure that they had not missed anything and that we were happy. The followed up with a gift of cupcakes and asked their photographer to shoot our house. We were very happy with Urban Painter and would wholeheartedly recommend them.

I highly recommend The Urban Painter, they really came through for me in a pinch. We are selling our home, and we hired a guy to paint our cabinets, and he totally botched the job. Everyone else I talked to about fixing it, didn't want to touch it because it had been painted before, but these guys took on the job. I have to tell you, I had my expectation low, given they had to try to strip old paint, and re-paint, and do a colour match, etc. It was a very difficult job. But when they were done, it looked like it just came out of a factory. To say they blew away my expectations is an understatement! I absolutely recommend these guys!

We had all of our cedar window sills sanded and re-stained (not a nice job) and the job was completed on time and within budget. Once the project was underway it was a bit of a nightmare start to finish. Between wrong paint, improper quote, missed spots, closets put back together wrong, broken curtain rods and getting a redo I wasn't very pleased. I chose this company based on the Google reviews and it was a mistake in hindsight. They did do their best to make things right knowing all the bad things that happened, but it still cost $2000 more than I anticipated and too many details slipped through the cracks when it came to communications between their teams.

I have mixed reviews of the Urban Painter. We had our deck and fence painted, and the first crew made a mess of our driveway, and didn't ensure that areas were properly covered with plastic to prevent splatter which resulted in a large mess. The company responded seriously about the concerns and cleaned it up, and sent a new crew to finish the job. The second crew did a great job and we were happy with the work they did. However we are still finding issues in the area that the first crew worked and there spots of the deck that were missed completely and not painted. If you get the right crew from the Urban Painter, you will be happy with the job, but if you don't, expect a lot of frustration and added time for the job.

I submitted a request for an online quote and received a message back within a couple of days from a member of the team via text acknowledging my request. I was then connected with another individual for an initial quote/discussion which was great timing wise; unfortunately, this is where my experience with Urban Painter did not match with many of the positive reviews. I was advised I would receive a more formalized quote via email which I did not receive. When I contacted the office I was advised I would be connected with another representative - this did not occur either. I’m disappointed about the experience as the reviews generally indicated more positive interactions and now my project will be delayed.

We had some trim work touched up and because that job went so smoothly, we asked if they would be able to paint the Kitchen cabinets as well. The trim work involved lots of prep time which was not rushed along. The trim looks as good as new. The newly painted kitchen cabinets look as if they ARE new. What a great change for a small investment!

I had previously given a good review because their interior work was descent. The outdoor work had to wait until the following spring. Unfortunately they seem to have lost tack of outstanding work, and it took a while before I was re-scheduled. At one point when the crew had come out to paint the fence, I went to confirm that they were going to do two coats as specified in the contract. They response was to get upset and insist that only 1 coat was needed and actually walked off the job! At the end of the day I found them to have inconsistent service. When they did the interior work, I found Urban painter to be responsive and professional. Later, I found that had to continually contact them and wait for days to get a response. I would not recommend them because you just don't know what kind of service you will get.

Misleading. So unhappy after 11 months. Urban Painter sprayed the cabinets in our RV in August. They should have told us they couldn’t do the job correctly, but they assured us that their paint quality and superior products would translate well to our home on wheels. We had so many communication issues with them during the job, the timeline was delayed, and my husband and I worked with them (doing the job we paid them to do) for 3 solid days as they only had one guy assigned to the work. The biggest issue? The cabinets are a MESS. The paint has become sticky, it can’t be cleaned properly. It soaks up stains, is cracking in places... they need to be totally redone. It’s clear to see that they weren’t prepped properly - limited sanding, minimal priming, and the paint quality was garbage. We gave them thousands of dollars and not a peep from them on trying to rectify the issue. Yes, they sent someone out in September to “fix the patches” but you’d have to redo the whole project in order to get a good result. I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy. So unprofessional. Just wait, if your cabinets have been sprayed by them, give it 6 to 7 months and you’ll see what I mean.

I admit to not using thier painting service. That said, this appears to be a company with unsafe employees and for that reason i would Not recommend thier services. Today there was an F150 (licence plate ending in 3015) with this company's logo speeding approx 30 km above the limit through semi-residential areas and then weaving and cutting people off trying to get onto stoney trail and on stoney trail. It was appalling to see someone driving so erratically and unsafely in a company vehicle. This occured MAR14 1400 NW YYC.

We hired Urban Painters to complete two fireplace projects for us. Both fireplaces were originally dark grey and we really wanted to lighten the room by painting it white. Urban Painters was efficient and helpful, providing us a recommended paint store close to our home and an accurate quote that they stuck to throughout the project. There were no hidden costs and our painter, Manny, went above and beyond - filling holes that we didn't think could possibly be filled, leaving the areas spotless once his work was complete for the day, and caulking cracks that finished both fireplaces beautifully. We just used urban painters after moving into a new house this past weekend. Initially we thought we would paint ourselves, but at the last minute decided it was enough work moving and hiring painters was a better plan. Since we wanted to set up furniture, we wanted the painting done right away. Adam responsed to our request (on a long weekend) right away and found two great painters, Rafael and Tom, to come in the next day (Saturday). They were easy to coordinate at the beginning, the consultation they provide prior to work being done was so helpful - the girl that helped me out was great and had good pointers when I was trying to narrow down colours. And it was all done within one week! During the week the work was being done, I was able to leave the guys at my apartment to work during the day while I was at work. We spent $8,006.07 to have our cabinets painted. We had researched having cabinets painted and read that unless the cabinets are one-piece MDF the paint would likely crack. We also read that filling knob holes is very difficult and the place of the knob holes would likely show. We did also have concerns about the durability of the paint. It's been 4 months, and we are not impressed. We asked Gabe at The Urban Painter about all of our concerns, and he assured us that their process is different. After we agreed to the project, communication was painful, with calls that were not returned and missed timelines. Everything was taped off, none of the light switch covers or power outlet covers were removed, and when the masking tape was removed, there were missed spots. We are still finding spots where they missed the second coat or missed spots altogether. I could go on forever, but there is no way I could recommend The Urban Painter to anyone.

The Urban Painters are in every way a class act. We decided to have our outside trim and two decks painted last year (2019) and settled on May-June 2020 as the start time. We had just moved into our house in early 2019 and realized the house trim and deck needed painting/staining. Our realtor recommended Urban Painter, so we contacted them in fall 2019. We met with a team member and discussed the project, even then I was impressed by how professional the company was. The work was started on the date we agreed on, the painters were experienced, polite and very accommodating. The team or painters started work early each morning and did not finish until late to mid afternoon. The process of colour matching can be difficult but the lead painter, Felipe, was very helpful and friendly. He made sure we were happy with every choice made. My home has very challenging roof lines and painting the trim can be very awkward/scary. Special ladders were purchased when required and I’m pretty sure less experienced painters would not have attempted some areas at all. These guys had no problem with any of it. The house looks great. The painters are experienced, polite and very responsive to requests we made during the process. They had a terrific attitude. They are very highly recommended.

The painters asked if there was a room that I wanted to be finished in the first day and they completed it. My bed was put together for me and the entertainment centre was put back with the tv all set up! Previous owner had made a mess with paint and the painters removed what they could. I hired The Urban Painter this past summer to stain the exterior of my house and deck, and paint the interior of the garage. It was a sizeable job that took multiple workers over a week and a half to complete. The work was booked three weeks in advance, and the foreman came to my house to meet me three days prior to the scheduled start date to plan and discuss the job in more detail. I was able to meet with the lead painter every two days or so to get progress reports and discuss any issues that had arisen. I also kept in contact via text, and they were quick to respond to any questions I had. The painters worked very efficiently, kept the job site very clean, and did a thorough job. Upon completion, I completed a final walkthrough with the lead painter, and it was obvious that his main objective was to ensure that I was completely satisfied. In the end, I did have some issues with the final invoice as it was a moving target with some changes and additions, but this is where The Urban Painter surpassed my expectations. After a discussion with one of the owners of the company, I was able to settle the discrepancies without any friction. It was at this point that I knew that The Urban Painter is run by owners that are honest and have a lot of integrity. It's always an unknown as to whether you can trust a company to do what it says it will. With this company, I have no doubt. I have since asked them to perform two more jobs for me in the coming weeks.

They had the job of painting the complete interior (main floor and basement) with different types of paint used in bathrooms; the window/door frames and walls. The Urban Painter painted the interior of my entire house in 2018 and did a phenomenal job. Part of he reason why I chose them is the 2 year warranty, with the guarantee that they would fix any scratches or other issues within 2 years no questions asked. I called them to fix a few scratches in the paint and where water damage had peeled the paint off the window sills. They arranged for Nate to come by and fix it all. He was professional, respectful, and very clean. He even went around and fixed other little spots that I had missed! Highly recommend this company!

My review is mixed for this company. I chose them because of all the 5-star experiences and I wanted to support a company that did charity work in the community. We hired them to paint 2.5 levels of our house. The crew were nice guys and the paint job was good but my experience was tainted by the lack of communication and the clean up experience. There was paint on light switches, outlets, handrail, stairs. They did try to make it right but it is frustrating as almost two weeks later and I’m still discovering paint where there shouldn’t be paint and this is after I’ve already spent hours cleaning. I feel just a little more time on prep would have saved me this frustration. In addition, they had attempted to remove a handrail without our knowledge. This resulted in loose parts, specifically loose screw covers that fell onto an area where our 1 year old often plays on. I emailed the company regarding this and was disappointed I received no response. Email communication was also not great prior to the job. I was told they are quite busy so perhaps I hired them during a time where the workload was too much for the staffing but I don’t think I would hire them (or any painters) again given my experience. Edit: After multiple discussions with Gabe from the company, I can accept that my experience was atypical and not their usual standard. I appreciate their accountability and persistent efforts to make things right and I think at the end of the day that says a lot about a company.

I had 4 companies to come and quote my project, so my criteria on choosing a company was how professionally they were represented, Gabe was very friendly (having strangers in my home for 4/5 days, I wanted to feel very comfortable), concise in the information I needed and listened to what I was looking for in having my project done. He presented a quote to me in a timely fashion, which was very much appreciated. They did a phenomenal job, and completed the project on time and very close to their original estimate! Dave was very responsive and made it easy to coordinate this project and get the ball rolling. We met with their colour consultant, Amanda, and she helped us pick out all of the colours and made sure the final colour palette flowed together and would look the way we envisioned it. Nate was the team lead for the first crew on site, and was truly exceptional to work with. We then worked with Rafael’s crew for the last part of the project, and they did such a great job picking up where Nate’s team left off, finishing the painting, cleaning up, and getting everything done, just under the wire! Rafael did a comprehensive final walkthrough with us and made sure that we were happy with the final product before wrapping everything up. From beginning to end, The Urban Painters were so great to work with, in terms of their communication and responsiveness, attention to detail, and the quality of their work. We had a great experience when The Urban Painter painted the interior of the first floor of our house and part of the second floor. Part of the job was the removal of wallpaper in some areas. The painting was flawless, which was especially impressive on the surfaces that had been wallpapered for decades. The estimate was reasonable. As the job progressed they encountered a couple of areas where more coats of paint were required due to the dark paint colour being covered, and because of a couple of surfaces needed to be painted that I had not identified when the estimate was prepared. They kept us apprised of the changes to the price and secured our approval before proceeding. So the bill contained no surprises. We also found them timely, arriving on time every day and completing the job in a reasonable time. They were pleasant to deal with and also cleaned up the work sites at the end of each day. The Urban Painter totally transformed our space and made it look much cleaner and updated. Our space is a preschool and it was painted bright green with many holes and marks all over the walls. The Urban Painter came in and helped us to choose the perfect color. Mike came in on Saturday, Oct 10th to do the re-stippling of the entire ceiling in the games room and the front of the drop down ceiling in the family room. He did extra protective covering making his area of work isolated from the rest of the family room, completing his part of the project with the end re-stippling looking great. 5 Star Rating. 4. On Tuesday October 13 DJ and his assistant Ed arrived on time to finish up the painting. Ed worked efficiently and had the three walls done in very little time (two coats on each wall), the final look is excellent. This part of the work rates a 5 Star Rating. 5. There was a small issue with the final cleanup and inspection but Dave worked through that with a very satisfactory outcome. 6. Thanks to The Urban Painter Team for a job well done. The quotation that Urban’s Sales Manager Gabe prepared included high-quality Sherwin William paint products and the services of a professional colour consultant. We’ve seen far too many examples of “homeowner” selected colour & trim combinations that just don’t look right. Yvonne Laanstra from Staging Calgary got it right. Her attention to detail was evident during the site visit. She arrived at a colour combination and trim details that would best suit our home design and the setting. Having a professional provide this guidance is the only way to go. A plus factor for Urban as it greatly increases the homeowner’s happiness factor when it is all said and done. We hired Urban Painter to paint our home interior walls and doors this summer. The work was phenomenal and overall service experience was terrific. The quote was competitive, they included an interior color consult, paint samples were sent to our home to paint test patches on our walls to confirm a color we were satisfied with and the crew sent over was led by Richard who is top shelf. Staff were pleasant, and worked efficiently, they took care of follow up work/touch ups where there some coverage issues without asking for additional fees. My caution for people considering Urban Painters or any painter currently is there are pretty severe staff shortages and high demand for services. The job started 1 day late which was more than reasonable and something that didn't impact us. The one consistent painter was the crew chief, Richard, but there were a number of different staff they had to juggle on/off the job to get it done. They managed the staffing aspect well on our job as Richard ensured the work quality was at a high level. I would highly recommend their services.

These are nice people, but my experience with their work has been negative. The original job was behind schedule (ok, things happen) and upon leaving I had concerns about the quality, including paint on my floors, paint on my ceiling, and coverage issues. They have returned to my home twice (totalling several hours) to fix and repaint walls, and I felt compelled to write this review as I am still finding short-cuts and mistakes months later. Edit: I do want to acknowledge that the owner since took the time to call and meet with me and put forward a plan to rectify the issues. I appreciate that he is willing to stand behind the work and given the multiple very positive reviews (which encouraged me to work with this company in the first place) I can accept that my experience is not the norm and am encouraged by their willingness to make it right .

I live in a townhouse complex of 200 units. The Urban Painter power wash, sanded and painted the front porch and the back deck. The workmanship was amazing. There wasn't a speck of paint on the porch or deck. I have a dog that usually barks at everything, but she didn't make a peep. except when they did the power washing (that was a tad noisy). The front porch and back deck or not large by any means. They had to work around plants, a bbq, and table. They put everything back in it's place. I would highly recommend The Urban Painters.

Working with them we arranged for the repairs to be done which then permitted a lovely painting job to be done on the house. Everything was done within the agreed time frames. I had to chase them down afterwards, and their initial response was that it wasn’t their fault. When they finally agreed that it wasn’t done properly, the warranty work they have been doing this summer has been characterized by virtually nonexistent communication, and when they do reach out it is nothing but excuses as to why it’s not their responsibility. Urban painters were quick to give me a quote and communicated very professionally about the quote. Everything afterwards went down hill. My quote was from December and I've been following up with them to get the work done(writing this in February). It has been a struggle. Even one of the team member said it was lost in the queue. After trying one last time to schedule a time to get the work done, they gave me two days notice which my business couldn't support during that time. I've reached out to see if there was an alternative time to reschedule the work and there was no response from urban painters. I would not recommend this service as my experience was negative due to the lack of communication and consideration for the timeline for my business. -- Update March 19, 2020 I want to thank Gabe and the team at Urban Painters. The team really took my feedback seriously and made things right. Unfortunately, we did go with another painter company to complete the job but Gabe took the time to find ways to make things right by suggesting they made a donation to a organization that we as a company cared about.
