Lots of goodies. Got a pie iron here. I even got my husband some polarized sunglasses the next day. That was a week ago. .... today I went to look at camp coffee percolators and near the end of my decision someone came up and said I must take off my backpack which is actually a handbag like any other woman carries around and leave it at the front. Ive bought a few 0$100 worth of things from this store in the past 2 months and I've had no issues with my handbag until today. I won't be back. Ill get my coffee percolators elsewhere and my next pair of muck boots . I resent being treated like a theif

Backcountry is awesome. They have almost everything there, cross bows, compound bows, knives, hatchets, machetes, a wide assortment of guns, fishing gear, camping and hunting. They can order guns for you of you don't see it on the shelf. The also have live bate.

I love going to this store, as far as privately owned sporting goods stores go this one tops the list for all of BC and AB for me. The staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, tons of stock and overall a great place to visit if your into anything to do with the great outdoors

This is the kind of experience that you cannot buy on Amazon or get at chain outlets. GO HERE and support this business, they are truly one of a kind and know their stuff. We searched all over BC for a certain kind of gear we needed for Alaska, and not only did this store have it but their store manager generously shared SO MUCH information about how to use the gear, and what to expect where we were headed. Her tips have helped tremendously. After leaving the store we just thought, "WOW!" Retail workers that treat you well and have what you need at great prices. What a concept! Wish we lived in FSJ so we could support them all the time. So we hope that you locals will!

Good outdoor store aimed primarily at hunting and fishing, but lots of other interests are found as well. Good hiking boot selection is actually pretty good (kids selection is lacking this year). Lots of camping supplies, but a lot of it is the mid range Coghlan's brand, but some is higher end MSR, GSI, etc. Wish there was more selection of backcountry sporting gear like avalanche safety (transceiver, probe, shovels), skis, snowshoes, mountaineering gear, climbing rope, etc.

I would like to start by saying that they do have great selection but when it comes to used guns......expect to pay 80+% of list price. Some used guns are retail but it could be a sales gimmick to buy new guns with better margins. Several guns can be bought through Cabela’s online for $200 to $400 cheaper for the exact same gun. Showing them the price isn’t affective because all they do is stare at you and wait for you to walk away.

Excellent camping gear selection, and service in that section of the store. I, however had very poor service in the gun section, and walked away at least 3 times after waiting 15 minutes at the counter with no service. Others were served and for them it seemed like great service even though they had arrived after me. It wasn't very busy when I was there. But excellent in other departments.

Been going there on and off for years. Went with my wife today and understandably they asked to put her small backpack she uses as a purse behind the counter. She was upset but complied and took out all her important stuff. We then overhear the story told at the front and laughter. Maybe make fun of a customer once they leave the store? Sound carries. Unprofessional.

I've now visited and purchased a few times here, and everytime I felt condescension based on my gender. And you should have seen the reaction when I mentioned that I could possibly be from a different province, heaven forbid! Dreadful customer experience. In addition, I bought bullets, they had ran out of the ones I wanted, gave me a pricey box, which later that day I found out I could get at Walmart at half the cost.

I have been trying to get a magazine for my rifle from here for 2 plus years not to my satisfaction and it is a common magazine miny 14 only 10000 of them in the area no cannot find one and the bullet selection is crappie the only people who have a clue are the cashiers

I’ve recently had a great experience with purchasing my new 2018 Hoyt RX1 through Backcountry Archery. Particularly a great customer service experience with an employee by the name of Tell. He was very great to deal with and gave me a very reasonable price. Can’t ask for better, will definitely be back to purchase from him again.
