I had a bad experience and would suggest others staying away from them. The prices are almost double and customer service is bad. I redeemed a Groupon voucher and paid additional 288$ for a normal prescription glasses with a Guess frame. I also paid for shipment as I live very far. I received glasses in a shaggy case of their own brand and weren't willing to ship the original case.

Hello, I have had the privilege to visit Campuseyes to get prescription glasses. First of all, I was impressed by the warm atmosphere the store has. The optometrist is knowledgeable and down to earth; I was told what concerns there were about my vision in addition to a detailed description of how my prescriptions had changed. Then, the optician is courteous and honest. I appreciated this the most since the cost of glasses already is high and it takes the right interaction between customer and optician. In fact, this time I had no coverage for prescription glasses and was uncertain how I was going to afford new glasses. But, I was pleasantly surprised by how well I was accommodated. In the end, the pricing was adjusted to suit me. Furthermore, although my finances were not great, at Campuseyes I was treated seriously and was given the needed glasses. Definitely a FIVE-STARTING store for eye classes. I came visit within this week. During the COIVD time they kept the entire sanitizer and clean. More importantly, I was travel to cross city since I trust their examination and valued pair change service. The optimist is really nice and friendly. He provide me a value price with both daily pairs and backup one. I really wish they have more store in multi-cities/area. But this minor critique does not lower at all their value eye exam/pair change service.

I am a returning customer of Benny's for two years - I have purchased two pairs of glasses two years ago, and two pairs recently. I was very impressed by the quality of service and the frames/eyeglasses themselves. Benny was quick and professional - he fit and adjusted my glasses in a very short time. I have been to other shops where I had trouble getting a good fit, or had to return several times because of issues with the lenses/frames. Benny seems to get it right the first time, which is a huge time and effort saver. Benny also has a quality selection of frames and lenses. I have purchased two sets of titanium frames, and they are holding up fine after two years. Some in his collection are more expensive, but I think they are good investments. As someone with a deep prescription, Benny also offered a nice, thin lenses with a blue coat filter. I can spend most of my day in front of a screen, and I have gotten a lot less headaches with these lenses. In summary, Benny has made the biennial eyeglass purchasing process quick, painless and error-free. He may not offer the cheapest glasses around, but I believe the service he provides is worth it. For anyone on the fence about his prices - I think he will be worth the extra cost in terms of time saved and the quality of product.

For tl;dr people : I've been getting glasses for 22 years and this was my BEST experience. I originally purchased a Groupon for this location when it was located on Victoria Street in Kitchener. I have been wearing glasses since I was five years-old, so I am somewhat of a veteran at glasses shopping. I had never been to Campus Eyes before nor had I heard anyone speak of them, or read any reviews beforehand. I went to the Kitchener location with a friend of mine and was delighted by their selection of frames, overrall presentation of the store, and the friendly staff that was both courteous but also didn't hover too close by during my stay. I felt very at ease and was assisted with all of my questions. The representative on staff ended up calling my insurance, her boss, and taking my personal information down in order to properly answer some of my trickier questions. I have a difficult prescription which can be quite costly, so I appreciated all of her efforts to find the right information for me. Ultimately, I ended up leaving the location without the frames I had chosen. Money was the main issue and I was planning to go back for them but life happened and months passed. Nearing the end of the summer, the owner of the store called me. I was surprised at this as you wouldn't usually expect this sort of follow up from a business, least of all from the owner directly. He was a complete gentleman and had me in tears by the end of our conversation. He understood that money was an issue and offered to allow me to pay in installments, plus giving me a considerable discount on top of that. His original location used to be in Waterloo beside Mel's Diner, which was damaged during a fire a few years ago. He explained to me that he understands financial strife and that he was happy to help me. I just picked up my glasses a few days ago from their new Waterloo location and I love them! They were made quickly, came with protective coatings and blue light diffusion, as well as cleaning materials. I highly recommend going to their new location, conveniently located at the intersection of University and King in Waterloo. It is between Phil's and Short Stop, to be more specific. I would easily rate this the absolute best experience I have had shopping anywhere in my entire life! If I was to compare it to anything, I would say it was as if I travelled back in time to when consumers had personal relationships with store owners, without losing the modern quality of course! Please check them out if you're in need of new glasses. They're definitely worth it! Side note to the elderly and disabled: I am unsure if there is an elevator in the building and this location is the upstairs unit, so I would call and ask before visiting!

After hearing good things about Campus Eyes, I opted to have my vision checked, and found out that I required glasses. As someone who has never required glasses before, I was completely overwhelmed with the seemingly endless choices of frames displayed on the walls. Thankfully Benny pointed me in the right direction. He was quick and efficient, picking stylish glasses that worked well with my face shape, and provided honest feedback when they didn't work well. He answered all of my questions and was very patient with me while I juggled with all of the different choices. The female present while Benny is gone is absolutely lovely and very helpful as well! The establishment is very clean, professional, stylish and extremely welcoming. Benny acts more like a used car salesman than a doctor. Every time I go, the women who do my eye tests tell me my eyes haven't changed too much, they ask about my habits and tell me it's really up to me and I don't need to get new glasses right away; then at the end Benny comes out and scares me into getting new glasses saying my eyes have changed a lot and if I don't want them to get worse I should get new ones ASAP. And the total is always way more than I expect it to be. My boyfriend goes to Highland Optical and his glasses all in for the frames and lenses were less than my lenses alone. Maybe he got cheaper frames but still how did he get the whole pair for less than just my lenses? There's a huge markup and I think it's predatory that they're right beside Laurier and call themselves campus eyes when they have no official affiliation with any of the schools around and use their name to take advantage of students. I won't be going here again and don't recommend this place to anyone on a budget.

I broke my glasses on a Friday night and went into Campus Eyes the next day to replace them. Benny was very sympathetic to my situation, and was an immense help. He got the optometrist (Dr. Fei Mo, a very cheery and enthusiastic lady) to come in right away and get me an exam. He also took the time to help me choose my new frames, which I appreciated since there were so many options. After all this, my glasses were ready in only a couple days. My experience was so great, I went back the next week and bought another pair of glasses, so I wouldn't have to put myself (or him and his staff) through the same ordeal again. Thanks Benny!

OVERPRICED CONTACT LENSES! ALMOST DOUBLE $$$! I am a student in Waterloo. I went for an eye exam and to buy contact lenses because i would not be travelling back home to my usual optometrist in Markham for a while. He recommended me new contact lenses (brand & type). I trusted his "expertise" and bought myself a 12 pairs (monthlys for a year) because i was assured they were "THE BEST" for my conditions (i have high prescription and astigmatism) and the ones i have been wearing for the past 6 months were "very wrong for my eyes". My parents were furious at me after i told them of the purchase. Basically i paid $510 in comparison to $260! AND NO REFUNDS?? Even after assuring me he was giving me a "discount" for free shipping? and that he understood i was a student with not much disposable income at all? I went back a week later for clarification as to why he overcharged me almost double... and he told me that my other optometrist was wrong. I told them the EXACT contact lenses i bought, so this could not be possible. Sir, you are a terrible human being. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Be warned.

I called them to re-check my eyes, but they refused as I have not bought my glasses from them. Doctor was incompetent or negligent. I came in to get help with severe eye discomfort. They sent me on my way with over the counter eye drops for dry eyes. Problem never improved and I saw another doctor in Toronto who told me I have blepharitis and allergies and then prescribed me proper treatment. The girl I saw seemed to be in a rush to leave the office Friday and I was their last appointment. I ended up paying about 100$ for nothing because the girl did not do her job properly. I wish I had collected evidence to file a malpractice.

I had my eye examed in Campus Eyes. The optometrist was kind, yet she made a big mistake on my prescription: she said the astigmia of my right eye changed from 0 to -1.25. I ordered a new pair of glasses based on the prescription but could not get used to it after wearing for a week. Then I went back to Campus Eyes to double check my prescription and the optometrist insisted there was no problem with the prescription. So I ordered another pair of glasses. Unfortunately, same problem! I went to another optometrist and found I only have -0.25 astigmia. I have no idea how an optometrist can make such a mistake! Also, consider I went there twice and got the same WRONG prescription! ------------------------------------------------------------------- Response to the owner's reply on Dec 8: I used to think it was the problem of the glass supplier because it was hard to believe the prescription was wrong. But two pair of glasses based on the prescrption brought the same problem: right-sloped vision, pain in the right eye and headache, even after wearing for a week. I really regret I tried such a long time for wrong-prescribed glasses in otder to get used to them. I should have visited another optometrist earlier to find mistakes in the prescription from Campus Eyes. The glasses from another optometrist are comfortable and give me clearer vision. It is good for people to have confidence in themselves (as Campus Eyes said), yet it is also important to know everyone makes mistakes. I can understand a mistake in my first visit. But same mistake in the second visit makes me question this place.

The owner is a purely business man, the minute you finish paying the mintue he takes off his mask and gives you a look that he's so fed up with you and you can leave asap. BEST EYE CARE EVER!!!!!!!!!! I wish there was a 100 star option because Benny and his amazing and incredible team deserve it. I have been going to see Benny for 15 plus years for eye care, and you couldn't pay me to go anywhere else. He has always made me feel more like family, not just another customer. He is honest, kind and incredibly generous. Unlike most businesses out there, Benny is not worried about the bottom line, he cares about his customers and whats best for them. As soon as I walked in, Benny gave me a great big wave and smile, even though he was in with another customer. His store is beautiful, clean and so well organized. Then I was greeted with a warm bubbly hello and welcome from the girl running the front. She was so nice, and had a smile on her face the whole time. And when I asked if she could open the window cause I was a little warm, she jumped up and opened the window right away, then asked if there was anything else she could do. Next the optometrist that gave my exam was super sweet and friendly and made me feel so comfortable. She answered all my questions and was also so patient, especially when I had to ask her to do a couple of the things twice. Extremely Impressed. Side note; the bathroom is spotless, and that is another example of Benny making sure his customers are taken care of. Then Benny himself helped me pick out my glasses. Which was so helpful, because he has such an amazing selection, it was so hard to pick. He kept finding me ones to try on until, Jackpot!!! We found the perfect pair and I was Ecstatic!!! He even gave me a great deal. Again always taking care of his customers. Bottom line, I just want to thank Benny and his team for yet another great experience, for taking the time to help me and make sure I was happy. What a better world this would be if more business treated their customers like family and not just money in their pockets. Thank-you Benny, your kindness will never be forgotten.

Very unpleasant experience here. The owner is only interested in selling their products. I visited this place to get my eye exam done. I decided to go to this place because it was listed on the Studentcare network. When I was at my appointment, I mentioned to the female doctor that I am wearing both eye glasses and contact lenses. While I was waiting for more tests, the owner asked the receptionist to help me choose the frame (even though I didn’t ask for). In the end, the owner said I need very special types of glasses and contact lenses. When I asked for the price for the contact lenses, he said it’s $900/yr or $700/yr for cheaper one. Then I decided not purchasing anything since I couldn’t afford the money as a student. The owner suddenly changed his attitude and asked “how do you pay?” and charged me $100 for the eye exam. Then I tried to order my contact lenses online and realized that I actually require the prescription for contact lenses to order, which the eye doctor never mentioned that there’s different prescription required for her patient. When I called the Campus eyes back, the owner said they don’t offer a contact lens prescription. (Which doesn’t make sense as he offered me buying contact lenses) I even called the college of optometrists of Ontario to inquire about this, and they said it’s part of patient’s right to request the contact lens prescription with paying additional cost even though I don’t buy contact lenses here. Then I called the Campus eyes again, the receptionist said I have to purchase contact lenses to get the contact lens fitting (prescription). I ended up making another appointment with a different place where they provide a free contact lens fitting. I’m regretting that I didn’t read all the reviews for this place in advance.

Be careful of this place. I went in to get my eyes checked for a new prescription for my contact lenses. because I lost one. After the exam, they only gave me a prescription for regular glasses and said they would only give me the contact lens prescription if I purchased the lenses from them. What a scam!!

I bought a frame from this store but finally realized that the frame does not match with my lens very well. This will affect my eyes conditions so i came to store to refund this item. The guys in this store give me an very definite answer No. The frame has been used less than one day and there is no message from their website and the certificate declaring their non-refund policy. So my experience with this store is very negative and I strongly deny this optical shop.

Had a great experience at Campus Eyes today . Had to see an optometrist , I called and they were super accommodating . After Covid screen over the phone they were able to schedule an appointment for my Eye Exam. Once the exam was done One of the Optician Benny Afrouzi helped me to pick my frames that are appropriate for my high prescription and went over my options for my lenses. They took many measurements to make sure that my glasses will work the best . I was also very impressed with their Eye Exam Equipments. Very high tech ! Amazing selections of frames , great prices and very knowledgeable staff . I had my glasses ready in one day . Very pleasant experience . I will be a client for life . Thanks again Campus Eyes !

My wife and I went for a checkup. The owner of the store (not sure if himself is an optometrist or not), use the usual automated machine, for lack of better words, and did a reading in about 1 minute. There's also an optometrist examined our eyes for another 5 minutes or so (I think based on the readings from the machine). In between the eye exam (have to wait for a few minutes for the pupil dilation drops to work), the owner pulled us into his office and asked us to pay for the exam fee, and all the store owner can tell my wife was her glasses are extremely warped and may cause dizziness at night. We saw a a $25 for $200 off groupon online and was hoping to use see if there are any "deals" we may get, but found their frames are extremely over-priced (for the money, I could buy 3 pairs from another reputable store, local or online). After saying "no" to the owner, he quickly wraps up everything and said "you are done, that's it." Not sure if he forgot about we are still in the middle of eye exam. Seems rude and unprofessional. Friendly staff, nice little store, but frames are way overpriced , owner feels like a pure business man, lack of equipment (they are still recovering from the fire, at the time of my visit, they don't have the machine that takes pictures of iris.), and not worth the money. We wouldn't visit again.

Got a Groupon for 25 dollars which covers 200$, went in thoughg it was a good deal. bought a pair a glasses for 180 with the discount reg 400 on sale foe 350 looked them up online they were 85$ no return policy guys a scam artist. NEVER GO To CAMPUS EYES unless you want your money robbed. The man that owns the store I believe is ripping off so many students. Find a better place even if it is closer.
