I work nearby, and have gone to Kellogg since it opened, but I have ended my relationships there. It takes months to get an appointment to see an eye doctor, then months to get an appointment at the optical shop. Although the staff are top notch, the appointment-based model has killed their ability to provide timely care. It took 5 months to get glasses, and because they don't fit well it would be another month or more to get replacements. That's 6 months from the date of my prescription to the time I'm satisfied with my glasses, which is unacceptable to me. I wish the staff well, but I'm taking my business elsewhere. This is far from the only place in town.

Great drs. Figured out what I had after 44 years of life

The Kellogg Eye Center has excellent doctors, however, they often run out of parking spaces. I have also often waited 2-3 hours after my appointment time to finally be seen by a doctor who spends so little time with me. I think they are overbooked and overwhelmed, and need to expand their facilities and hire more eye doctors.

Christine Sayger

I had a great experience every visit. The staff was very accommodating to my needs. Im disabled and need a caretaker to take me to my appointments to help me with my wheelchair. I was happy to find out the valet staff will not only park my car but they will retrieve a wheelchair for me and then push me to the appointment locat. After the visit the valet comes back to get the patient and takes them back to get your vechicle. I really found this very helpful. Thank you Kellogg's!

Doctors are great but every time you get an appointment scheduled, are there on time and finally the doctor sees you 4 hours later is just too much, especially when you have kids and have to work. Third time in a row...

I went in for a retinal eye exam and asked upfront how much it would be before insurance just to make sure there was a set cost, you know like when you buy literally any other good or service. Nobody knew, they didn't have a price. As part of the exam a doctor looked at my eye and they took some pictures of my retina, I asked how much those would be and nobody knew. In total it was a 1200$ appointment when comparable appointments are about 200-300. My insurance paid about 500 I paid about 280 and now collections is chasing after me for the other 420. DON'T GO HERE unless you either dont care about 1) your money or 2) your credit score

The way I was treated at the eye center can be described only one way extremely good they knew what they were no 1 they had their act together, and the anthem alleges that have had their for many many years took the time to go over things with me, and I was comfortable when I left the center with the information that I was given by are My recommendation to the eye center is this don't lose her or doctor Susan elder because if you do you are losing too highly competent people that give new meaning to the term patient care.

James Howlett

Best place for corrected eye surgery , rated as the number 8 Ophthalmology center in the country , they have the best doctors in Michigan, along with a highly trained staff, and they take the time to address the patient concerns, I highly recommend them, they also have the best advance technology equipment as well, are referred by other doctors in the state. ????????????

I love the staff and Dr. Elner is amazing and very good in her specialty. However I drive 3.5 hours to get here and usually wait 2-3 plus hours in the office. Then drive 3.5 hrs back home. It's a long day. I'm sure they're busy but they need to stop over-scheduling patients. Sometimes I feel like my eyes aren't even dilated anymore by the time I see the doc. Other than the wait, all the staff from check in, nursing staff, to check out and definitely including Dr. Elner are amazing! I've had issues at other offices/doctors with my eye problem and I don't trust anyone else. So I guess I'll deal with the wait.

I love the friendliness there the only down fall is the wait. Always there between 2-3 hours. But other than that always a great experience

Had a very nice and quick visit for my daughter here the only thing that was an issue was traffic around the building because there is construction

Terrible....at no appointment should you be waiting over 2 hours to see a Dr! We drove nearly 2 hours to get there. We were NOT informed that we would be waiting for HOURS!! Not to mention the only reason they took us into the room is because I went to the front desk and told them I was leaving if I wasn't seen within the next few minutes. Only then we're we rushed to a room for a Dr to ask my son just a couple of questions and glance at his eyes. If you HAVE to make an appointment at this place...I'd go for very first appointment, and expect to be there all day long. I think the office management needs an overhaul ????

appointment was at 2, didn't get seen until 5:45pm, ridiculous.

My fiancé had eye surgery yesterday and the professionalism at this center was amazing from preOp, the surgical team with Dr Demirci to post op! We felt blessed that he was in such great hands with an awesome team! They all introduced themselves and made him feel so much at ease! Thank you so much!

terrible place the staff is rude specially doctor Ahiqur Rahman Akanda he creeps me out I was sitting in my chair waiting for him to come back, I saw him in the corner taking pictures of me and him

Michelle Pitts

Great doctors. Very knowledgeable about the eyes and the brain.

Kathleen Miller

Excellent caring physicians and staff. They monitor my Glaucoma and I can’t say enough good things about them.

I had eye muscle surgery and my experience was absolutely amazing from check in to check out. The nurses were so nice, the nurse who put in my iv was amazing. The anesthesia nurse was so kind and was there with me until I fell asleep. The surgeon Dr. Gabby was phenomena he made you feel like a person not just a patient. I would recommend this hospital to anyone with eye problems.

Our family was very disappointed with Dr.Dewey. My daughter started loosing her vision at age 8. When we first came to visit Dr.Dewey at Kellogg Eye Center her vision was minus 1.5. Children's myopia runs in my family's list of diseases and I myself at age 14 had the vision of minus 8.75 (it's being almost blind). I shared that fact with Dr.Dewey asking if any alternative treatment could be done, any new researches have been done since I was a kid, anything that could prevent my daughter from being blind in 5-6 years. Dr.Dewey answered that nothing could be done, we would come to her once a year for stronger eye-glasses prescription. That's it! My husband had made another effort to talk to Dewey, he took time off from his work and went to Kellogg Center himself. Dewey was irritated by it, and again she said that nothing could be done at this point... In a year my daughter's vision was minus 2.75, then the following year - minus 5 (at age 10!) But it turned out that THERE WAS THE ALTERNATIVE! There is the doctor who works at Kellogg Eye Center and he is practicing Cornea Reshaping Method for more than 20 eyes. This method stops vision loosing and allows the patients to see 20 out of 20 without wearing glasses. The name of the doctor is Dr. Lipson. We found it from the friend of us whose daughter is Dr. Lipson's patient for 8 years. What is the most ridiculous Dewey knows Dr.Lipson and she knows about his treatment (they are colleges) I think it is the crime to watch kids getting blind and do not tell their parents that there is the remedy and not to share the information you know. What kind of doctor is she? Your patients trust you and you think only about how to make money out of their disabilities. Or there is anything else, not the money, behind my daughter's story? Please, do not trust Dr.Dewey, there is the way to help your child and to save the vision. Please, make a research for Dr.Lipson and his wonderful technique.

Totally satisfied! Thanks Dr. Del Monte & staff for the care you give my Grandson.

My experience: They are very thorough, and when it comes to your eyes, that is priceless. I'm usually in and out in about 1 hour, so I've never had a problem having to wait- even if I did, it'd be worth it. I wish appointments could be scheduled sooner than they are, but that is not something they can control; they fit you into the first open spot they have. They are a very popular eye center for a reason.

I had lazy eye all my life and it was drifting on the left side, i am 33 years old now and I finally decided to go get it corrected and i went to Kellogg Eye Center and i had nothing but amazing experience from start to finish. I see all of the reviews where people had to wait hours to see a doctor and i was taken in right away no wait, the staff and doctors are so knowledgeable and very professional. I had no issues scheduling the surgery and the day of surgery everyone was so nice, they explained everything to me and whatever questions i had was answered right away. After the surgery i didnt need to take any pain medications, there was no swelling or bruising on the outside of the eye lids, just the eye itself was all red...now is 3 weeks after my muscle surgery and my eye is perfectly straight. Still a bit red but so well done i would recommend this place to everyone.

Be prepared to wait 2 plus hours on almost every visit. Rude.

Got PRK vision correction from Dr Hood with incredible results. I am now 20/15 with no odd issues just five months after surgery. Absolutely fantastic experiences at every appointment. Wait times are very short regardless of time of day and they are well organized and of course clean.

Ok, wow. I am a seasoned professional in my 30's. I almost never leave reviews. I hate leaving negative feedback. But I am astonished at the poor experiences I have had trying to get my eyeglasses and contacts. The first visit to this center gave me a bad prescription twice, so I thought I would try one last time with a different doctor before giving up on this 'highly reputed' center. Before the visit, staff said insurance would cover everything. But when leaving, they said I needed to pay $80 or $90 to leave. I just got a notice that I have an "outstanding balance". How is that possible? What is with the hidden charges? The visit: the PA was openly angry and hostile, and jabbed me in the eye with a new eye pressure tester. I have PTSD and flinched. She became visibly angry and without saying or explaining anything she jabbed harder. When she later brought my trial contacts, she threw them on the counter (again with barely a word or explanation) and left me to figure out how to put them in with tap water from the sink (!); even the doctor was horrified and said "you're supposed to get eye drops, we don't want you using sink water." The doctor was nice enough, and seemed to get the prescription right, though she had an intern do part of the exam and he sat right up on me in a very awkward position, touching his legs to mine the whole time. Ordering: you can't. Full stop. You have to call a phone number to reach the 'optical staff person' who never answers. They always call back when you're at work. When you try to use the advertised message center to reach normal staff it's ok, but when you message the optical order staff, they get angry at you (!) and say it's not convenient for them to use the message center, that you should use the phone (impossible as discussed.) Don't think about asking for price quotes - they will do everything possible to avoid quoting numbers. I will never set foot in a Kellogg Vision branch again and I will warn everyone I meet to avoid it at all costs. Save money, avoid hidden charges, avoid eye-jabbing, patient-hating physician assistants, and get friendly service elsewhere for fair prices.

I know that my son's eye sight would not be the same if we would have taken him any where else. It is worth any amount of wait time for the quality of services they provide. God bless this establishment.

Mira Xiong

I go to the glaucoma eye center every 6 months for a routine check up. Every time I’m there, there’s always, always a long wait. I went there yesterday and my appointment was at 9 am. They took me to the room at 10:05 am. And then I was taken to get photographs of my eyes and waited another half hour. I’ve waited for two hours just to see my eye doctor. Because of my eye condition and insurance, there’s isn’t a place nearby that I can go to. Also when they are busy, the doctors rush in seeing you just to get you in and out. What’s the point in setting up an appointment 6 months in advance when they can’t see you on time. If you go there, have your questions written down so you don’t forget to ask and EXPECT to be there for at least 2 hours.

The staff was courteous and Dr. Jay was very knowledgeable

The greatest optometrist I have ever seen! I went in with floaters that my local optometrist said was astigmatism. After just one look by a resident they confirmed it was retinal detachment. I owe my sight to you.

DR. MD. ASHIQUR RAHMAN AKANDA

I undergoes Three months fellowship training in this institution. This is definitely one of the top class eye institute with great ophthalmologists among the whole world. Everything here is excellent especially patient management. Please go there for your best eye care. Regards

John D

Yes you may have to wait long but the care is uncomparable. These people saved me from going blind

Courtney Mulholland

Love the staff but absolutely HATE coming here only because i know every time i do i will be spending my entire day here. There is no reason to have to wait 3-5 hours when i only see the techs/doctors for 30 minutes of that time. Figure out the scheduling because this is ridiculous. Ive been coming here the past 9 years and ive probably spent years of my life just waiting in this waiting room.

DJ Mammo

The quality of the care is excellent. Those complaining about the wait and other related matters have to realize that this is an academic tertiary care establishment. They are teaching as well as diagnosing and treating. Their knowledge is cutting edge and that is where the emphasis lies at the expense of catering to patient comfort and convenience as is paramount in a private for-profit practice. This is the type of place you need to go when your local doc is stumped or wants more detailed information.

Arthur Busch

This brand new clinic has a brand that doesn't match the service. They are disorganized, screw up your records, are indifferent and don't hesitate to lie about who you doctor will be. The doctors are inexperienced with mediocre credentials. They don't guard your privacy. I'm a former Prosecutor and life long member of The Flint area. My mom used this clinic as I did. Until UM took over it was competently run. I'd descriibe it now as a malpractice case waiting to happen. They concluded my appointment with improper and extremely harmful recommendations all in writing! If I followed these folks suggestion I'd be heading to acute care for my heart problem. They never checked my medical records , wrongly noted my meds. I'd say a jungle clinic in the Amazon is more organized and competent than Kellogg. My advice is to find another doctor as I did. If you are a snowbird go to Florida. There are great doctors there. They are currently staffing with new doctors to UM who are not particularly credentialed as you would expect from a regional clinic. I'd think carefully before going here for care.

Our experience here at the Kelloggs Eye center has always been amazing! Great staff and doctors. The doctors we have had please of meeting are the best. One of the doctors I just love everything about the way she is with my girls. also how she makes sure we clearly understand everything. Our youngest has had several eye surgeries since we've been here, Doctor Bonsack has help my husband and I understand the surgery's our daughter had done. By simplelifing it also drawing a picture while explaining everything. When we ask questions she has never told use she was unsure of what we was asking. We never leave without our questions answered. Can

The staff was kind, friendly and very competent. Unfortunately, the wait was unacceptable. They dilated my eyes and said it would be 25 minutes. Now, I knew it wouldn’t really be 25 minutes, but I waited an hour and then had to start asking staff how much longer my wait would be. Finally, a kind doc took pity on my and finished my exam. I made an appointment for next year, but I may just go elsewhere. I didn’t get to see the doc I usually see, they told me I’d be seeing “a resident;” things just didn’t go well .

Had a bad experience with trying to get my surgery scheduled..

Would have given a higher rating until the nurse came to "tend" to my mother. My mother is hard of hearing and I swear she was purposely not speaking up so that my mother could hear her. Then she seemed annoyed that my mom couldn't hear her. She then asked my why I had to be there! Well, because it is my mom, that's why! She proceeded to attach the pads for the heart monitor and asked my mom to lift her shirt without closing the curtain and providing privacy. Unacceptable! William the nurse anesthetic was super sweet and so was Sheryl who sharted the IV. They made the experience more tolerable. Had we only had to deal with the nurse, I would have given 1 star.

Margaret M. Williams

The doctors are excellent and my care has always been wonderful. I wouldn't go any place else.

Benjamin Price

The doctors are knowledgeable but the price is outrageous! One visit is billed twice, you pay for the doctor and the exam/room separately. If you haven’t met your deductible it is $500+ for your visit. They don’t tell their patients about the crazy prices either, they send you home and bill you later.

Sage Pazyamor

Always receive excellent care here. Doctors are wonderful. The optical shop is reasonably priced, gives great service. I won't go to other places to get my glassses since the doctor here found that my prescription lenses were not done correctly at the private business I used to go to. For accuracy and excellent service, this is the place to go for eye care and prescriptions!

Long wait is a pattern for this place. Also the WIFI was not working for laptop, it was working good for cell phone though. Need your IT people to look into it. Specially when someone is accompanying a patient and had to be there for over 3 hours, having a good WIFI is a must. Other than this very well mannered and professional staff.

shailesh saigal

Glasses smear ALL the time. You do not even have to touch them. Lenses are somewhat loose, i guess you get what you do not pay for.

Rachel Doane

Great staff and doctors from our experience. If you have to wait it’s only because they give such attention to every single patient. Once when we had to wait for a while they offered us snacks. They are lovely people.

So far very unorganized suppose to have surgery Friday and its Wed eve and they still cant give answer to when to be there. And im at a physical rehab place and have to give them notice of what time it is so they can schedule me a ride. These people wouldnt like the time game played with them or their family. Plus my parents wanna be up there when it happens. I really hope they can get it togetber because my nurses have also been asking about diet and meds for the night before. So ask kelogg and they had nerve to hang up on me. Thinking twice if I should even let them touch me

It's a great place probably the best in Michigan I commute an hour to come here and it's well worth the commute. The staff is knowledgable and caring for the patients. Very personal service the only reason I didn't rate it five stars is because of the wait which is usually a hour or more.

Excellent care. My case was well coordinated across many specialists. Everyone I met was caring and competent.

L O

Very happy with the quality of eye care I received but the wait time and office procedure is extraordinarily inconsiderate of patients and dismissive of the value of their time. I arrived on time for my appointment, and waited 45 minutes to be seen by the tech. Ten minutes later, I was sent to another waiting room, where I waited over an hour for the doctor. Ten minutes later I had a treatment plan and was ready to go but was told to return to the waiting room so the supervising physician could sign off. An hour later, I inquired and was told there were still three patients to be seen before me. I chose not to wait any longer, to the visible annoyance of the office staff, who informed me I should EXPECT to spend up to four hours on an appointment. I had already sat there for three hours for 10 minutes of time with the doctor; waiting another hour (for no additional treatment) is beyond the pale. The administration's lack of consideration for the patient is staggering and overshadows the quality of care provided by the physicians.

Asha Dimoji

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I had an appointment at 10, I barely seen the nurse at 12, and they have the audacity to say I have to go back to the waiting room, for the FOURTH time, to see someone else.

Jason Fetterman

been going here for some time now for my son without major issues. recently had an appointment with a specialist on the third floor. stormed out of the exam room after 2hours and 15 minutes without seeing the doctor and they acted like I was crazy. she said it could typically take up to 3 hours for a new patient. He's 6. I would have gladly rescheduled if they had problems keeping up with the patient load, but there was no communication no consideration of patient time.

Mary Gerlach

M Martin

Great doctors and staff but consistently run far, far behind in appointments. Like over an hour behind. So if you have to get your eyes dilated too, you will we wind up being there for 3 + hours. My husband waited over 3 hours and no one came out to call him. Turns out the doctor had left. He rescheduled only to have the same thing happen again.

Kathy Bodary

Had a 9:15 AM appointment, and finally saw the doctor at 11:45 AM. He took about 10 to 15 minutes. Finally checked at by 12:15 PM, 3 hours later. NEVER had to wait so long. Wonder what these doctors are doing all this time. They should be paying us for OUR TIME that was wasted. $300 per hour?

Very rude ???? had a hole through Corina they didn't numb very well didn't offer any kind of sedative before we started yelled at me when i saying it hurts and is causing to much pain. Not very happy with the way the doctors and nurses treated us. We understand it's a very hard situation to deal with but being treated like my pain and we'll being doesn't matter is completely un called for . My friend Nicole who's Google I'm using to give my complaint was there and also seen the way they were treating me it's very uncalled for. We come here needing help and comforting but get treated like I'm of no matter.

G CB

Horrible wait times. Expect it at a doctor's office, sure, but not like this.

Annie K

I was in a freak accident and suffered trauma to my eye. The staff at Kellogg were with me every step of the way, from sending specialists to the emergency room to surgically repairing a retinal tear that took a few days to form after that, and continually monitoring my progress over the course of its healing. They saved my vision, and I never was treated like "just another chart on the doctors list." I hear they are the best in the state, and among the best in the nation. I would recommend them to my loved ones.

Tammy Holbrook

Alot of people have comcomplained about the long waits and I get that but Im so happy to have had my eye surgery at such a reputable center by a fantastic dr. Every appointment I had and my surgery from check in to check out was great. So sitting and waiting for an appointment wasnt an issue for me. My eyes being better is worth it!

Due to my rare disease that I was fortunate to have diagnosed at our University of Michigan Medical Center just prior to the current Covid-19 Crisis and pandemic times, I requested this appointment at their Kellogg Eye Center to assure myself that I didn't have the very early stages of retinopathy or eye disease. Everyone that we interacted with was professional, efficient and effective while being helpful and personable. During every interaction from check in to check out every individual was excellent at thorough explanations and very informative. I received good news but knew that if I was in danger if losing my eyesight, the would offer immediate options for care.

I think that Dr. Mian is a top skilled surgeon. He did the cataract surgery on my very near sight eyes. I'm so happy for the result. He and his team are excellent. The surgery was quick, clean and accurate.

I took my 94 year old mom to see a doctor about her glaucoma at the center. We moved her recently here to a local care facility. She was already under care for her glaucoma for several years. She is in a wheel chair, has some dementia, wears depends and can only walk a few steps with assistance. We arrived at 12:40. It took more than hour to be seen by the first tech. We spent the next 4 hours and 40 minutes there going through a series of tests and repeated questions. The tests lasted just a couple minutes so we were mostly waiting. They asked her name and date of birth no less than 5 different times. They asked her about her marihuana use, how often she played a wind instrument etc... The diagnosis; your eyes are the same and we'll continue with the same treatment you've been on for the last several years. When we left at 5:20 the lobby was dark and there was no one there. I'm sure the doctors are great but our corporate healthcare system is broke if you think an 94 year old woman in depends can last 5 hours. When I tried to talk to the intern and doctor about their expectations for an elderly patient, their first responses were confusion and to make excuses. There was no understanding or empathy or willingness to listen. They are so focused on the problem or the method they have been taught they are all just out of touch to the patient.

This PLACE IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST, I've been coming since maybe 2010! Dr. Alon Kahana is beyond the best, he changed my life, I'll forever be grateful. ( He's still my doctor if I need him or have an issue he’d be who ,I'm running too ) “ he’s not in Kellogg eye center anymore sadly but he easy to find! Dr.Roni Shtein has also been nothing but phenomenon she’s the best in her field , better than the best she’s kind considerate & compassionate about you & your care she’s truly god sent , I’ve truly been blessed to have her !!! I also had the honor in meeting Dr. Alan Sugar he is just wonderful extremely qualified and knowledgeable ! Dr. Steven Archer the man that makes the Magic happen , I can’t imagine where I’d be without this phenomenal man around to “” straighten out things “” (literally) when I need him , I can’t say anything but if you want the BEST , he exceeds that, no matter the case he’s experienced overqualified , I bet he can (straighten things out ) in his sleep , Imso very thankful to Kellogg Eye Center , this place gave me a team of the absolute BEST !!! Including Dr.Kasten he cares , he’s truly wonderful & the best at what he does …. Ps… It’s usually in & out too , but if there’s a wait , this place has a lot of “ THE BEST DOCTOR’S relax its 100% Worth the wait , I thank God For this place & my Doctors !

Had field vision testing appt on the 3rd floor. Waited over 40 minutes to be seen, the waiting room was packed. During my apt, the PA (Sheri) was impatient with me and not at all polite. It was an uncomfortable situation and I felt rushed and could not focus, I feel it may have affected the outcome of my results. I will not recommend this Ann Arbor location, I will get a 2nd opinion and I will not return to this center but I might consider a different Kellogg location next time.

I had excellent care for my first appt. I am scheduled for a brow lift. Shouldn’t that be done by a plastic surgeon? Anyone have one done here? I’m concerned.

This is a great facility but super super pricey!!! I am dealing with Retina tear issues, it was an emergency I end up seeing a specialist (who had independent practice) for four times for laser procedure. Once things stabilized, I thought it is better to see a facility much closer to Ann Arbor. I got 3 laser procedures done at this place and total bill is THREE TIMES what I paid to independent provider. Both providers are part of United Healthcare - In Network doctors. This place has emptied my HSA account and I have to go to monthly payment plan. The place charges for doctor and facility. And the facility charges are huge. Lesson learnt - Ask pricing in advance and SHOP outside before getting any procedures done.

I see Dr. Cornblath for Blepharospasms. He injects Botox to keep me from suffering. I think he's GREAT.

Whoever does scheduling at this place need to lose their job!!

My daughter had a routine eye appointment on the 3rd floor to check her prosthetic, and as always everyone is so friendly. Everything is set up for social distancing with seating spaced apart, hand sanitizer, everyone wore masks, signs on floor, etc. Always a 5 star visit!

Austin Macfarlane

Wayyyyy to long of wait times. Will not return

Joann Sadro

Took my son who was only 3 months old for an eye problem, so I thought. They got us in so fast and right away for being a brand new patient. The staff was amazing and I am willing to drive over an hour for his eye dr. Highly recommend them and we been there multiple times we go back in September for his 1 year check up.

Darin James

Always expect people to be on time just to make them wait hours. They say if your late you have to reschedule. But wait for some long time in waiting room. Them bounce you all around.

Jerry Hamilton

TIM BREHMER

Here I sit by a crowded waiting area in the retina reception room with a patient with high risk pre-existing conditions because apparently Michigan Medicine and the Eye Center cannot handle the logistics of scheduling safely, i.e., limiting appointments and creating waiting room space that is safe for everyone. Absolutely ridiculous! Not to mention it's been an hour, and she still hasn't seen her doctor. If you can't adapt to ensure the safety of your patients, you shouldn't be in business.

K H

I’ve gone here for 12 years for my retinitis pigmentosa and have no complaints. Dr. Fahim is fantastic.

The facility is renowned, but actual services could use some effort. Appointments are scheduled months in advance and changed a couple of weeks before. Being an alum of UofM, i sometimes wonder why have they not taken any lessons from the university's Business School on getting efficient? They literally produce printed documents to throw away! Paper? Really? My private practice dentist went high tech and efficient. If nothing has changed, then no paper. At Kellogg, they seem so restrained by the particular rules they developed, that reception "apologizes" while printing the paper, that says "no change", for you to carry to the nurse, so she can throw it away. I had 28 docs after an accident, and after I found out I could get copies of my paperwork, i not only got everything, but scanned it and was able to put it on a "thumb drive". Imagine doctors saying, "we'll check on that in a couple of weeks, once ypur records are pulled...", and you say "i have copiea of all my MRIs, x-rays, doctor's notes, prescriptions, and therapies right here in my pocket." This is the efficiency U of M taught us, but the expanding world class medical campus doesn't seem aware of it. I wonder do visitors judge the rest of U of M's "world class" designation by hand filed records and paper waste? I really loved U of M and proud to be an Alum...and cringe at what I see.

This was my 1st visit here and I was impressed from the moment I walked in. The receptionist .....so.sorry I did not get her name....was so pleasant, welxoming and genuinely kind. Michelle retrieved me from the waiting room in a surprisingly short time and proceeded to treat me like I was the only patient there. She was so authentic and knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything to me, without feeling rushed. Michelle was simply amazing. Enter Dr. Ward. She showed me a model of the eye and what was happening within mine. She also treated me like I waa the only patient there. I never felt rushed. I asked questions and it was so obvious that both Dr. Ward and Michelle were listening to me and took all the time I needed to explain. Even the wonderful woman who checked me out was so very kind. I can't thank then enough. I can honestly say, in my years of life, this was the BEST experience I have ever had in a medical office!! Thank you all. You are a shining example of what every appointment in every office should be like.

Special thanks to Dr Grenier, he is the best!

Eric Williamson is very knowledgeable, he answered all my questions patiently. He also made my glasses perfectly fit, I appreciate his help!

Doctors are wonderful. Shop has terrible customer service. You have to call for an appointment, but no one answers the phone. When I did speak with someone they told me my prescription change was too minor. The difference in my prescription between the glasses I have and need is 1.5 and 1.75 diopters.... Will not be returning.

The entire staff at the cornea center and the staff in the cataract surgery center are phenomenal. My father is nearly blind in one eye and was very apprehensive about having cataract surgery on his good eye. Dr. Shtein did a terrific job working with my father; treating the patient, not just treating a medical issue. The surgery went very well and the staff were so very kind, taking great care to keep him comfortable to minimize the tremors he gets from Parkinson's Disease. My father is recovering very well from his surgery. As we left the building after surgery, my very reserved father giggled; he was tickled he could see and identify other buildings nearby. When your father with Parkinson's giggles, you can't help but love all those people who made that giggle happen. Thank you! Thank you as well for putting his plan on paper so that we could refer to that plan to help him prepare and recover from the surgery.

I went to several different ophthalmologists, each one unsure of what was wrong, when I was finally sent here I was so relieved to finally get answers. I gladly drive 3+ hours to see my doctors here. Everyone is knowledgeable and supportive. I have never had to wait more than 15 minutes beyond my scheduled time. If you need to see a specialist, this is the place to go.

Doctors and staff were great. Waiting too get in for your appt is a little long. But the doctors have helped with my eye condition and nurses are fantastic.

I would rate this in the negative if there were a possibility to do so. If you would like to grow old waiting to be seen then this is the place for you. Last appointment was over 1 hour after scheduled time, and I saw the doctor -Kamat - only after wandering the hallway and finding someone. She took me to an exam room where Dr. Kamat told me to come in, she could “see me real quick”. Not able to ask questions, she was finished in 5 minutes. Today I am waiting for Dr Mian. Currently it is 10:58. My appointment was for 9:15. So my thought is that they assume I have nothing better to do with my time and I should consider myself fortunate to be seen. If you can find anywhere else to go for your eye care, then to that place!

Many of my family members have been seen and treated at the Kellogg eye center. Everyone is professional and well trained and educated.

Kristen Owen thought she was clever by ignoring me in her office and when she walked us to the elevator. It makes me wonder how she won an employee of the year award in June 2016.

The Kellogg Eye Center has been the most thorough ophthalmology and neuro-ophthalmology eye center I've ever been to. My first appointment with ophthalmology was 6 hours long, and it wasn't because I was waiting, it was because they were performing outstanding tests to try to figure out what was happening. I don't have the most amazing insurance, I have government benefits because I am disabled and have a rare physical disability. That did not factor into my treatment here at Kellogg, where in my home state on the East Coast, state insurance wouldn't cover any of the same services and treated me like garbage because of it. I went to an emergency eye ER back home and they wouldn't do any testing unless I could pay out of pocket. I have issues with my vision due my disease, and it wasn't until moving to Michigan that I finally had doctors working to find answers. Most ophthalmology centers where I am from do not offer things like retinal pictures, and they are not a usual service and they are actually quite complicated and expensive. I appreciate the people at Kellogg and Michigan Medicine because they really do care. My experiences here as a whole have been phenomenal. Everyone regardless of their job title goes above and beyond. I would take a lot of the reviews on this page with a grain of salt. I have been to multiple parts of the Kellogg Eye Center, different times of day, and there has always been social distancing, masks, lots of room for patients to spread out, etc. When I had testing, none of the wait times were abnormal for a specialist. The waiting rooms are huge, and even at peak times I had more than enough room to stay away from people. Even what Kellogg considers slow is way quicker than the wait times I had at doctors on the East Coast. I'm actually really sad that the Kellogg Eye Center has a 3.7 in reviews. They are amazing and I hope that people are not deterred from going.

This is for an average of the highest and lowest number of stars. The lack of organization at what I've been told is an amazing eye center is a zero stars - I went there for a 3 month recurring problem in which my ophthalmologist told me he can't help me and I need to figure it out after 6 visits to him. By the time I got an appointment at Kellogg, it was flared down. When it flared up again, no appointment for 4 months! How about keeping some appointments open every day for these situations? The highest rating goes to the folks answering the phones! Every one I spoke to was caring and compassionate and offered suggestions to try to help.

Avoid Dr Leung for your routine eye check! He does not know how to measure a correct prescription...I have been wearing glasses for more than 20 years and never see one who is so clueless about glasses. My eyes are actually very flexible and can easily adjust to new pairs of glasses. But his prescription just does NOT work!! He is a good person and he did multiple rechecks. But how ridiculous that NONE of them work AT ALL!! Totally waste of my time....

My husband was sent to Kellogg Eye Center after emergency surgery at the U's main hospital to suture the puncture wound into his eye. After that literal eye saving surgery, we had to wait 12 hours to discover if the eye would hold pressure or collapse. His second surgery was at the eye center 24 hours after our arrival the first evening. The removal of the destroyed lens and any dirt or puncture material. Surgery was needed from the back of the eye,so not to disrupt the sutures in the front that were placed 12 hours earlier. That was 9 months ago. Tomorrow we head back so he can get a new lens transplanted. Then the next step will be to see if corneal transplant is required due to the jagged scar tissue from the original puncture wound. The technology and doctor expertise is definitely here. We have had to make many trips back and forth to see several different doctors who helped in the two surgeries. At the least, more than a dozen trips. Our experience waiting on doctors hasn't been fun. The office scheduling is sometimes hours late. Even though you are supposedly next in line. We too have waited more than three hours to be seen by a doctor, on more than one occasion. Even though well past the office hours, if you wait patiently, THEY WILL SEE every last patient! (No pun intended!) Its very tedious waiting, we drive 1 1/2 hours one way, so it does take up a whole day. However, the expert care and great success, makes it all worth it in the end.

This review is about the optical shop: Very sales oriented staff. Only trying to make a sale without being very informative. If you don't buy from them then they are rude to you. I regret taking my business to them.
