I have gone to this optical for several years and Carmen is really great at picking out several frames for me to try and is very patient when I've tried on many, many frames! She also understands the budget request based upon my insurance coverage and works with me to get the best possible combination (i wear contacts as well as glasses) for my needs. Extra little things like offering to give my existing glasses a thorough clean, trying to repair a loved pair of old frames and, letting my children amuse themselves trying on kids frames are all appreciated extras that you just don't get at a big box store. It's nice to be remembered when you walk into a store and receive personalized treatment from someone who has passion about her products.

I am writing this after owning glasses purchased from here for 2 years. I was optimistic about this place when I read the reviews and Carmen was very friendly and seemed like a genuinely nice person. However the quality of the frames we purchased were the worst I've ever experienced in 30 years as an eyeglass wearer. A screw holding the lenses on the frame popped out within a few months of getting the frames. This happened both on my wife's glasses and mine. We took them and because they were under warranty Carmen glued the screw back on. It held for a while but over the past few years it's popped out 4 or 5 more times, ie every few months. I never took them back to her because she when I went back the first time the warranty had almost run out already. I have never had this happen with glasses. When I bought the frames I inquired specifically about the quality because they were not a name brand and I was reassured they were great quality. I could try to believe perhaps I got a dud but the fact it happened to two pairs of different glasses worn by different people really casts doubt. I am really disappointed also that more wasn't done to address the issue as glue clearly did not cut it.

I used to despise the act of looking for a new pair of frames! Requiring corrective lens since I was a teenager, I have gone through many pairs of glasses. I used to have buyer’s remorse when I picked up a new pair back then when I could see myself clearly in them. Looking back, the opticians I used to go to were pushy and I feel they weren’t being honest with what I looked good in. This hasn’t happened since I found May’s Optical! They have a lot of frame selection and Carmen is patient and really helpful in finding glasses that fit my lifestyle and look good on me! She is also great at working within my budget and I really appreciate her honest opinion each and every time. She is an expert in helping pick the right frames and I think this is why I have never had buyer’s remorse ever since I found her store. I highly recommend May’s Optical!
