Took my 4 year old kid to get his eyes examined. The staff was patient and quite clever with getting him to look through the devices looking for Spider-Man to come out the parachute. ???? The doc was also great with calming my emotions ????when I realized my kid needed glasses. How come I didn’t notice that he couldn’t see? Was it something I could have done? She shared her own personal story to put me at ease and I am super grateful. Not to mention the kid got some cool glasses ???? that he enjoys wearing.

I went here for an eye exam and to get glasses and sunglasses. The front staff are very nice and helpful. Dr. Zaiffdeen is very friendly, knowledgable and diligent. Courtney taught my 14 year old son to put in contacts in half an hour which is no easy feat. We also bought him a pair of glasses along with contacts but the arm broke off within 3 weeks. I was expecting only to get a replacement arm, but the optician ( forgot her name) called me less than two business days and had a whole new frame for him. Very impressed, he loves his glasses!! Great service.

We are a family of five and have been seeing Dr Lauren Zaiffdeen for almost ten years. She is extremely professional, knowledgeable and personable. When she opened The Monocle we moved over immediately, wow what a beautiful store! On our last visit we also met Courtenay Magos and Cassie Sanchez, also amazing professional’s who were very kind and really know what they are doing. We are looking forward to meeting Lisa Urbanosky on the next visit. At The Monocle, with the combination of incredible people and the decor, you feel relaxed while there. A very good experience that’s tough to pull off when it comes to doctor appointments.

This boutique style Optometry Clinic is so stylish and sleek. But don’t worry about bringing your kiddos there because despite its impeccably designed space it is still kid friendly. Dr Lauren is amazing with children and really takes the time to ensure you and your family are comfortable and know what’s expected and then the results. She gets right down to their level and makes eye contact and knows how to talk to them so they understand. She did a full exam on my 3 year old daughter and 9 month old son - and they have a treasure chest (and paw patrol stickers!) for the kids ???? She and her staff are so warm and approachable. Dr Lauren is able to adjust the vision exam to ensure the child’s engagement and participation while still maintaining professionalism and proper testing. Also if you need any glasses they have a wide range of frames and sun glasses that will keep you looking cool. I have full confidence in Dr Lauren to promote and ensure the eye and vision health for myself and my two young children. I will go back annually, especially since children are covered under our provincial health plan in Alberta for eye exams every year ????????

Dr. Zaiffdeen is as good as it gets. The level of dedication, passion, and vest she has for her patients are beyond. Every visit with her makes you feel taken care of on all levels. She always makes time for me and my family even when I’m worried and want to come in last minute for a check-up. In regards to children she really goes above and beyond; by not only being very accommodating and understanding but by also meeting the child at their level! The Monocle offers a very positive atmosphere and the staff is amazing as well, everyone is very attentive and friendly. I can’t recommend them highly enough!

Do yourself a favour and get your eyes taken care of here. Dr. Z has taken care of my eyes for years and her new shop is fantastic. My daughter was experiencing dizziness from glasses purchased elsewhere and Dr. Z was able to come up with an great plan to get her back on track. I was drawn to the space when I first saw the interior design, I figured if the interior was so beautifully chosen and done then the glasses must be as well. I was absolutely right, they have the most stylish, beautiful and timeless selection of glasses. The ladies that worked there were approachable and friendly. I spoke with Cassie and she gave me a personal experience and helped me find two pairs of glasses that suited my face shape and skin tone. She was very helpful and responded quickly whether it was through email or by phone through the whole process. I would highly recommend The Monocle to anyone who wants beautiful hand picked glasses and a warm/helpful experience. The shop itself is a little piece of art in St. Albert and like nothing I’ve seen in any optometry spaces.

I had a fabulous experience getting my eyes examined and picking out frames at the Monocle. Dr. Lauren has such amazing bedside manner, is knowledgeable, and not only does she care about the health of your eyes, but she even assisted with helping me pick which frames suited me best. The only hard part was narrowing which frame to purchase as the Monocle has so many stylish, cool frames to choose from. You can tell great care was taken to hand pick only the most stylish and high quality frames. Not to mention the space is gorgeous, warm and stylish. As you can tell I can’t say enough good things about my experience at the Monocle and ended up purchasing one pair of sunglasses and two pairs of glasses!

Visited this shop within its first few weeks of opening and I was amazed. Such a beautiful boutique with the trendiest frames. I was greeted right away by three friendly employees and they made me feel right at home with their customer service. Dr. Zaiffdeen was very knowledgeable on everything I asked and was able to communicate/teach me throughout my visit. Walking into the clinic you immediately are impressed not only by the clinic but also by the helpful and friendly staff. I have never had a eye exam as thorough as I have had with Dr. Zaiffdeen. Very knowledgeable, thorough and friendly. She managed to get my 12 month old to sit through the whole exam and get her eyes checked while having a great time. I have always struggled finding chic, modern, unique glasses. Monocle has an amazing collection of glasses!!! They sat with me one on one and helped me pick out the perfect pair to suit my face and taste. Great experience!

I have nothing but praises for THE MONOCLE! My first experience here was wonderful. Today I went for my annual vision exam and everything about this new boutique style clinic was awesome. The location at the Shops at Boudreau in St. Albert is easy to find with good parking and the clinic itself is so beautiful, bright, and classy with the best state-of-the-art technology and a wide selection of unique designer frames. When I walked in for the first time, I was immediately greeted and treated as if I had been a long-time customer. Everyone on staff is very friendly, helpful, and professional. Dr. Zaiffdeen is a fabulous optometrist! She is a warm, caring, knowledgeable, and thorough doctor! Not only did she communicate with clarity about my vision health and exam results, but she went well beyond to answer all my questions and help me with my glasses and selection of new frames and lens. The staff at The Monocle are the best! They were so helpful in finding frames that I would be happy with and they took the time to find the right ones to suit my personality and lifestyle. Their attentiveness to my needs was appreciated! Overall, hands down the best quality vision care and service experience I have ever had – second to none!
