Well it started off great, got my eye exam done and the doctor said I needed glasses. My prescription was EXTREMELY LOW at .25 I decided upon glasses I liked and they were around $500 and i was concerned about the price so The eye doctor told me, "no worries if they dont work out, we have a 90 day refund policy". So I get the glasses and I am out of sorts. I called to tell them I think they are wrong.. They replied "wear them for 2 weeks straight and call back". So I DID. They were still horrible, I was dizzy, had problems with depth perception and had all day long headaches.. So I called again and they made me an appointment. I had a second eye exam where they told me that they were going to change the prescription. "no worries" they assure me, its still within your 90 day warranty plan. So anyways pick up the glasses the next week and its like nothing changed. So I wore them for 2 weeks AGAIN, feeling horrible with them on again and then I call back, annoyed, wanting my money back. They inform me there is NO 90 DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE and that they have no idea where I heard that, the receptionist actually laughed at me, SO UNPROFESSIONAL. They inform me the doctor will call me back with options, that was over a week ago and no one has called. STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE. After dealing with this, I would not recommend this place. It seems they are only in it for the money, not to actually help people with eye problems. Now i'm stuck with $500 glasses I cant even use. Thanks for nothing. Work on your customer service skills! -Sincerely, An angry customer.

I initially purchased a very expensive pair of progressive safety glasses. The staff was very friendly and extremely professional. I used the glasses for two weeks and found that I had difficulty adjusting to them (got dizzy when I looked down) so I decided to go back to a pair of normal readers and a pair prescription safety glasses. I thought this would be a problem at an added cost however a young lady from the back room (Tamara) was very kind and understanding to my situation. She not only gave me a new set of prescription safety glasses but also added in a really nice pair of prescription readers at no extra cost. She even gave me straps and a case for each of them. Tamara then noticed I was using a old pair of Oakley readers from years ago that were damaged. At no extra cost to me, she replaced the lenses with my new prescription, and repaired the frame that had me bent for years. She was amazing. Coming from a military background I was astonished how far someone would go to ensure that my vision needs were met. Truly a wonderful experience.

The expertise and support that I received from both Dr. Roed and Tamara was invaluable. I am near-sighted with severe astigmatism, and when I experienced difficulties with my new contact lenses and glasses, they went above and beyond to take the time to listen to my concerns (including lifestyle and budget), answer my questions, and explain everything in detail. Although I am a new client who is only in St. Albert temporarily, I have been cared for a long-time patient (rather than just treated as just a one-time customer). Plus, it's the first time in 30+ years of glasses-wearing that an optician has properly fitted me for frames! Tamara did a stellar job in helping me pick out new frames that I love. This place is amazing! Everyone is super friendly and caring. You feel like you are with friends when you visit and Dr. Roed is great at explaining things. I have a very challenging prescription and they have worked with me to get things "just right." They have gone above and beyond in taking care of my entire family. My husband lost his new glasses in a traumatic water accident that almost claimed his life. They were compassionate and replaced his glasses for free. It meant so much to us to not have to worry about such a small, but important detail in our life at the time. I will only take my business here.

He diagnosed a condition my previous optometrist had failed to uncover... if left untreated it could have posed a serious risk to my eye health. I was impressed with his modern equipment & the amount of attention I received. He was very personable & took time to answer questions & explain my results. I found both premises to be extremely stylish, and the staff to be professional, friendly & knowledgeable. Eyewear options were extensive...large variety of good quality frames. Well after a six year hiatus from visiting optometrists so I could become a professional squinter extraodinaire, I finally booked an appointment. I chose this business solely based on Google reviews, and man it was great. Bless Google for not playing Russian roulette with my retinas. The place was pristine - even with the snow and slush outside. The receptionist was great to deal with, as was the fit-glasses-to-your-face lady. My family has been dealing with Eyeland for a number of years now, we love the friendly and personalized service. Dr. Roed does a great job making sure we're "looking" and seeing our best! I wanted to share what an amazing thing they did for my Dad who lost everything in the fire at Citadel Mews West. All I had to do was call them and they completely replaced my Dads glasses and even sent them to his new home. What a huge blessing to give Dad the gift of sight again after losing everything. I bought a pair of progressive glasses and was charged the same price for their "house brand" as I would have been for an upgraded high end lens elsewhere. The house lenses used in my progressive lenses were not good at all. Very blurry. Clinic staff sent them away to get re-done. When they came back, my vision was still blurry. Staff did not have any other suggestions or answers. I asked for my money back which they agreed to do on the spot. I appreciated that. I went elsewhere and got a fantastic pair of glasses I can see through very well. This clinic places a "final sale" marking on their receipt. I learned afterwards that this is a practice only some eyeglass shops do. Not common. The house lens company actually offers money back to the clinic if you don't get on with the lenses - so if you buy from this clinic and you cant see well, then call the manufacturer.

Had an excellent experience, and so did my wife. We both needed an eye exam and a prescription change, Dr. Peter Roed was excellent and informative, Wendy was very efficient in the pre-exam portion of the visit, and Tamara was extremely helpful in picking frames that not only looked appropriate for our face structure, but also felt good on our ears and nose. Would highly recommend Eyeland Optometry. Great selection of frames to choose from.

This place felt like being swindled on a used car lot. I went in knowing I needed the basics, and was “up-sold” and pushed into things I know I don’t need. I ended up ordering glasses that took twice as long to get as they originally stated, I had to call them multiple times to check if they were ready because they weren’t keeping me informed of the delay, and the prescription from the doctor for some reason includes bifocals even though I see perfectly up close and made it clear I didn’t want them. I was told “with your age you may eventually need them”. Since when do doctors treat people for issues they don’t have? Are they that hard up for money?... All in all, I will never go back, I do not recommend, and I’m stuck with overpriced glasses that make me feel dizzy and disoriented. Waste of time and money.

My visit to Eyeland Optometry was very nice. Dr. Roed was great, staff were also very kind and helpful. During my eye exam they cleaned up my glasses and replaced some nose pads which was a kind gesture. Dr. Roed has great bedside manner, he is very thorough and is willing to listen to your concerns and discuss your symptoms, diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment with great detail. I am happy to find an optometrist that demonstrates this level of passion towards helping his patients. I will certainly be coming back and will recommend them to anyone looking for an eye exam, lenses, or frames.

Doc was pleasant and took care to explain my prescription. Very professional. Staff was friendly and selection/prices seem competitive. They took a 1 star penalty however, because their automated phone menu is obnoxiously long. I actually hung up once after I ran out of stamina... otherwise, all good!

My experience was anything but pleasant. Upon receiving my glasses, which took quite some time, my vision was blurred. I mentioned to the Technician that things were not right. Was told to try them for awhile. I tried them for 2 months and still my vision was blurry. I took them back as I was told, along with 3 other people, that there was a one year return warranty, no questions asked if not totally pleased. When I went in they told me they would not say that, that I now owned the glasses. Doctor retested and supposedly sent them back or upgrade the lens. Within the week we received a call they were done. I went to pick them up and my right eye was like looking under water still. Could not see. I told the Technician that they were no better. The doctor was standing there and neither of them made a comment. I left once again with glasses I could not use. We paid $1300.00 for the lens, frames and sunglasses. My husband paid $1500.00 for his. Guess this was not enough to grant good customer service. Neither I nor any of our families will return to this establishment.
