Awesome experience getting my son's glasses from Factory Optical. They have excellent prices, a big selection of frames and it only took a day for my son to get his new glasses. We were especially impressed by the patience, care and thoughtfulness the optician demonstrated when fitting the glasses to my son. I’ve been coming here for over 30 years. Several of the senior staff have not changed. The service is always excellent, the quality very good and the prices extremely affordable. I’ve had the pleasure of introducing Factory Optical to several friends . PS Judging by the graph, I’d deduce that the negative 1-star reviews have been ‘seeded’ by people deliberately trying to sabotage the comments - perhaps other glass frame stores?

Over the last 20 years I have had numerous pairs (I'd say 4-5) of vintage frames filled with polarized lenses for sunglasses, and since I started wearing prescription glasses 5 years ago I have had 3 pairs of progressive lens glasses made by Steven and the employees here. I have 2 pairs of prescription sunglasses, including some Drivers by Transitions I had put in my vintage Ray Ban aviator frames and I am very happy with the service and the finished products. I always bring my own frame, and while they cannot guarantee the frame when they don't provide it, I have never had any problems with the frames I've brought in, even some very old vintage acetate frames. They take great care of me, and go the extra mile to make sure I am happy with my lenses. Thanks again!

Affordable prices. Selection limited. Advice or input to match frame to face is really bad, profit driven as usual. Technicians are somewhat incompetent: Lens was cut slightly oversized and was still forced into the frame, which stripped the screw thread out in the frame. The original screw was replaced by a bigger screw without tapping a matching thread into the frame. Second screw failed later anyhow.

I've always have really great customer service here. Above and beyond what you'd expect. I also really like that they make the lenses onsite (as well as high end professional optics!) - you can tell they all take the care with their product that comes with making it yourself and selling it. Very reasonable prices. I recently picked up a pair of Silhouettes titanium frames; I love the fit and the lenses are super light.

I think it can happen that you can visit any business once and have a bad experience with an employee. It doesn't necessarily reflect what the company is about. Perhaps that employee you dealt with only lasted that one day! ha ha This is what I propose, because over my many years of dealing with factory optical I have never ever had a bad experience; quite the opposite - they have always amazed me by going above and beyond expectations. Every time. And, they have the best prices on frames and lenses. I use them, and I recommend them to everyone! You will be happy with your glasses.

Tried this place a few times and more than once the prescription was off. Most recently I got a new pair of glasses last year, and it didn't seem right, but I figured it was because I had magnification for the first time and had to get used to it. Found I was having headaches etc so went to my optician, who found that one lens was way, way off -- so bad that when I covered my right eye I couldn't read at all. (Maybe this is a test Factory Optical should do when people pick up their glasses?) Called Factory Optical and they said that, because it was longer than three months, they couldn't do anything about it, so, in order for me to just get the correct prescription, I would have to pay all over again. (One for the price of two!) Save yourself the money and go somewhere where they get it right the first time -- and if there's a problem they stand behind their work, no matter when you sort it out.

This is the ONLY place to get contact lenses for an excellent price, they are NOT connected to Optik International, Google has connected this shop to the wrong website. This store is one of a kind and located in Vancouver off of Cambie street, you will save hundreds of dollars shopping here and the service is excellent

Worst customer experience ever. Went in to look for glasses. Was 'greeted' by a woman asking me why I came in. Told her I was looking for glasses and then she left. I look around a bit and 5 minutes later a family of three entered and was helped right away because they were only picking up glasses. Had another look around and noticed the frames are quite dated. Left and took my business somewhere else.

They broke my frames, which happens. I understand. But I had to call three times throughout the week before they told me what happened. They even gave me a phoney excuse the first time. The glasses were supposed to be ready the next day, but it ended up taking a week and a half. Yes, I got new frames. But I received no apology, no discount, nothing. And they refused to return my old frames. Very poor customer service.

Love this place. They are quite busy much of the time, and for good reason, so make sure to go when you are not necessarily in a rush. Both myself and my partner get our glasses from here - they have always been attentive and friendly. The employees are especially good with children as well. Our glasses have always been finished quickly and are very affordable.

Today, Mar.3,2020 I picked up a pair of progressive lenses eyeglass. The edge of the lenses had only a bit distortion. The eyeglass was light and good quality. The price was good. The customer service is excellent. I will go again for my next pair of eyeglass. Thank you.

This place is garbage, there was a mistake with my lenses, I went back 4 times and still not corrected, when I asked for my money back they said it was not their fault and that it was my doctor that made the mistake, the funny thing about that is that they took my prescription from my old lenses therefore it was their fault. Very rude I did however get my money back, and no one asked for the old lenses back I put my glasses back on, I do need them to drive, I received a nasty message shortly after I left calling me a thief and that I stole the lenses.... Horrible people I will never return to this horrible place nor should anyone else!!!!!!!!!!! Rant over....

Beware -- They will accept frames bought online and fit custom lenses -- however -- they cracked mine when putting them in and were quite glib about the whole thing afterwards. You have to sign a waiver saying they are not responsible for any damage, so there is a risk. But they are so desperate for business they will take any frames without discretion -- and will then go on to shame you for buying less expensive frames in the first place, even though gladly taking the frames you bring in when you make your first appointment. Shady business model. I now have cracked frames and out $700.

I have been going here for 32 years and have NEVER had a bad experience. I think that the people who have written the bad reviews are actually reviewing the group who keep hijacking their info. There is only ONE Factory Optical and I know for a fact that the have had a LOT of trouble with the other store claiming to be them. This is not a chain and never has been. They are an AWESOME place to get your glasses and they NEVER treat people like the single star people claim. Steven, April and Joyce will treat you like the valued customer you are

I was here this early morning, Monday, March 9 for eyeglass minor repair. I had a number 2 card. The number 1 was done in less than 7 minutes, mine was done in 10 minutes with different customer service tech. The best thing CS reps were all professional, accommodating & smiling. The service is free of charge (including the#1customer). For those looking for eyeglasses, this company is best recommended.

Went when there was a promo for 50% off lenses. The frames I wanted were out of stock so Jules helped me find a pair that were even better. Unfortunately the glasses came with a small chip but they ordered a new lens once I called them about it and they fixed it in one trip.

I recently broke my only pair of glasses. Monique at Factory Optical helped me pick out two new pairs that better suited my face and were reasonably priced. It was the week before Christmas, but she was able to get one pair rushed through in just a few days so I had at least one pair of glasses over the Christmas holidays. I am very pleased with the friendly and attentive customer service I received and would 100% recommend this office to a friend.

Went in at 10, glasses ready by noon. VERY helpful and friendly staff. Will go again for sure. I brought in 3 frames and she helped me choose the best fit for it's use. Price wise they cannot be beat since they get business from most of the larger eyeglass retailers. SECOND VISIT 2 years later... Same great service and best prices in town. Why would anyone even consider going elsewhere !

Hmmm, not sure why there's so many 1-star reviews here. True, they have a limited selection of frames, but there's enough that you can find something you like. All my lenses were good and they used to be unbeatable price wise, but the recent quotes I got from them were not the killer deals they used to be. Still, a much better option than crafty Lens Crafters.
