This review is for the Hakim Optical store on Lansdowne St as I didn't find a location on Google for doing my review. Our Hakim experience was garbage at this location,not even acknowledgment we entered the store. We let it go and looked around trying on Glasses. Almost 20 minutes from us entering the store and still nothing not even sorry for the wait like we didn't exist in the store. We even stood in the line of (two) yes two people !!! Again NO! care as we left the store either. It's a nice looking store but customer service is (-10) hell would even give a rating of (-100) if that was a real rating that's how bad this store operates. I will be buying from a business that wants our $$$ and appreciates it.

You may be able to tell she doesn’t enjoy answering your questions, but she is the only person who would give me more of an answer than “no we don’t do that”. The one place I could get an answer that actually helped me get my glasses.

Was not impressed with the eye exam service. Seemed far more interested in selling glasses - REQUIRE you to choose glasses BEFORE you get your eye exam, and won't sell you contacts if you don't buy glasses. Sign out front says "free frames" - asked about those and told "we don't really do that any more." Also told that we can't find out the prices of any frames we are interested in UNTIL (a) we make a final choice, (b) the eye exam is complete and IF the Optometrist prescribes glasses. I believe the frame prices vary widely depending on factors such as your insurance, or lack thereof: In our case, they knew what insurance we had and, interestingly enough, the ultimate price, when they would finally give one, was just $8.00 over what insurance will pay. I also question the legality of their "free eye exams" advertising: Our experience is that the exam wasn't free - they asked for the Ontario Health Card, which covers eye exams every 2 years, I believe, so they are billing public health insurance, which means the exam isn't free. It would be interesting to go for your "free" exam and tell them you don't have a health card, and see if the answer is "we don't really do that any more" like with the supposed "free" frames offer.

I also visited the one on Landsdowne, the guy who worked there was very nice and funny but I found the woman to be so rude to me. You could tell she hated answering questions and customers just annoy her. She actually made me feel terrible so I had to leave the store. I hope she gets fired soon so I can go back one day.

I was really happy with the company. They sized my glasses properly. My glasses came on time and they cleaned them very well for me when I got them sized again. The transition is amazing too and I can finally see. Thank you so much Hakim Optical ????????

I have always had incredible customer service experiences at Hakim. Recently I got an updated distance prescription that was much stronger. The Optometry office didn't include a reading add on my prescription, nor had talked with me about how my middle vision would be wiped out with the strength needed to see distance. As a result I panicked when I received my new glasses as I no longer had the middle distance assistance I needed for my daily work at a computer. Ben at Hakim came to the rescue - he contacted the Optometry office for the "full prescription" and arranged for one of my pairs of glasses to be re-lensed so I could use it for my work. He even drove the pair straight to the lab so I could have them sooner. I was so grateful for his knowledge and assistance. Thank you Ben! And thank you Hakim. For 15 years I've had great experiences with you, and I will always remain a loyal customer. Julie, Peterborough

Peterborough George St.....The man who helped us was great! WE bought 5 pairs of glasses....The younger woman working there is RUDE and disrespectful! ....She is a know it all ...who thinks she is the only one who who knows anything...and is not at all helpful! We have been wearing glasses longer then she has been alive.... and refuse to be disrespected .. ... stay away

Went to get glasses fixed there. Left my extremely expensive "Hakim" glasses case. When I went back to get glasses they took my case and said they couldn't find it.. Unbelieveable!!! They handed me a five away case and that was that.. Just unreal.. Ludicrous people to deal with. That's what you get for patronizing such ungrateful, snotty morons.. Never again!!!

A terrible experience, the lenses were damaged when they were being fitted so we had to return and complain. After 8 weeks and dealing with many different excuses they repaired the glasses but lost our case, they blamed other workers & the manufacturer and offered no apologies.
