I was refused a refund on my credit card and was given a gift card. After contacting Home Depot Canada I got a call from the manager and apologized for the service received and was offered a refund on my credit card. I appreciated that the situation is corrected. Home Depot is not for the customers I Purchased on sale set of 4 chairs. Asked the cashier if they would be set aside ? They said yes . Left next day I receive a call from them saying they were sold and removed from the store already. If the staff entered it in the system and says paid for and if they did their job properly at the time and set items away off the floor after they were sold. There would be no chance that another customer came along and bought them. But the lady said she went to send her picker to set them aside today and they were gone. As a customer that is very frustrating and then not even be offered the discount on another set. To me this was a mistake on their end not the customer and they should give the same discount on the same or similar set . They stated if they get more returns i could have the opportunity to Purchase them for that discount before the new year. If not the only thing she could offer is a $100 off a new set in the new year. I was told it happens all the time ????

Jus like every big box store, there's never an associate around when u need one and they are sometimes weirdly out of stock of that one thing I desperately need. Despite all that, the staff I do find are helpful and the stock that I can purchase, can been easily returned when I ended up buying the wrong thing.

The store was clean but cluttered. There were 2 aisles closed and the bathrooms were out-of-order. The aisles are short so items normally found together in other stores may be difficult to locate. A few of the items I was looking for were out-of-stock, of course. However, the staff is very friendly and courteous, and they seem to know what they're talking about.

At this Home Depot, the staff are incredibly friendly, and always go out of their way to help me. It never takes long to find someone available if you need help finding something or making a decision about the right product. I have had a staff go out of their way to help me put together a large order from numerous departments, and ensure all of my purchases were shipped and delivered to me, together. I find the store is always clean and well organized, and my dogs are always made to feel welcome when I bring them in with me. It is always a pleasure to shop at the Parry Sound Home Depot.

The rental department is mostly good, beware of the following: They will add tool insurance on top of the rental price (Other tool rental places in R.D. do not) I got hit with a ~$30 insurance charge on a $100 rental. Also make sure the tool rented is fit for service. I rented a concrete grinder and the dust skirt was 1/2" too short. This results in dust blowing everywhere even if the vacuum is connected correctly. They also have technical issues adding your rental onto your Pro card. I'd suggest getting a print out of your rental agreement, and reading it before you leave to ensure they did not add insurance.

I go in here all the time. They almost always have what I need. The staff is somewhat helpful depending who you ask but they're all pleasant. They honor mask exemptions which is a huge positive for me. Update: I had the displeasure of renting a 1 man auger from Rob. Nothing was disclosed as far as cleaning upon return or a $25 charge. But he happily joked about it and took the piece to the back. He came back and I asked if he was joking and he said no I will be charged $25 - so I said well give it back and I'll clean it. Again, none of this was disclosed when I picked it up and wouldn't have been a problem if it was communicated correctly. Some places clean rented tools and I know this from experience. The whole situation could've been handled a lot better. I will be renting tools elsewhere.

I went to this store to find some paper window shades the website said they had lots so I go to where they should be and can't find them so I start to look around for someone who works here when I do spot some one they notice I am walking towards them they do a 180 and do a fast walk in the other direction now I would thing okay they are helping someone else and missed the lane they needed to go down if this didn't happen 2 more times. The floor staff seem to avoid helping customers as much as possible. About a month ago I purchased something for curb side pick up, they emailed me saying it was ready so I followed the steps selecting “I’m here” and listing my parking spot. I was the only one waiting for pick up... after 40 minutes waiting I called, waited 10 more minutes for them to pick up, finally somebody came out... with the wrong items. 20 more minutes go by I finally got my items. Over an hour waiting.. I recently ordered an item, and selected same day pick up (WHICH WAS LISTED as an option) and after 6 hours waiting for an email I decide to call.. and they tell me to wait a couple days to see if they can squeeze me in.. absolute horrible service ESPECIALLY since I was under the influence of getting it the same day.. very disappointed.

Home depot is my go to place for just about everything if we go to Sudbury. They did a very efficient job during the pandemic. Ordering online and picking us was a breeze compared to other places. I like shopping there good customer service, but you do need a few additional employees covering dept. Usually have to go on a mission to find someone. This review is for the Barrie ON store!! I used to think highly of this place until I bought a fridge. I bough it on December 14th, they promised me it would be delivered before christmas on the 21st. I had no fridge for my Christmas dinner. I did not receive a phone call on the 20th as they had promised. I called on the 21st, They claimed there was no delivery detail and a glitch on their computers. We had to use coolers for our Christmas dinner. They then said it would be delivered on December 28th. Again same story, no record of delivery. I am angry and disappointed on the service. Went into the store and we were told, there's no need for you to come. Fridge will be delivered on December 31st though my fridge is already in Barrie, when the delivery company called, they said your fridge will arrive sometime during the 31st we were third in line! After all the waiting, lies and wasted time we were to wait again. I am angry and this experience has been so bad that I will never purchase anything from Home Depot I dont recommend anyone buy a major appliance there. They were dishonest to make a sale! I bought a fridge from a different major store, they matched the price and delivery was made already. Home depot doesnt care about their customers satisfaction so long as they make a sale!!! Horrible, unprofessional experience, the escalating department manager promised he would call me back and on the 30th and turned out the guy wasnt even working thst day another lie to brush me off!! First I'd like to comment on the online experience. If you need any help finding anything, you can connect to a chat-bot which asks you if you'd like to connect to a live agent. I waited less than two minutes and spoke to a friendly and helpful live person who helped me find what I needed without me being in the store or even knowing whether or not I was going to purchase from them. For this, I would give five stars. Secondly, I've been in the Sudbury store numerous times and almost always need to ask someone a question. I would say about 75% of the time it's fairly easy to find someone and they're always friendly and helpful. Thirdly, the only reason that I'm not giving five stars is because of the push for the self-serve checkout lanes. I'm all for them for those who choose them but there are still a lot of people who don't want them and I'm one of them. There are times of the day, including early in the morning where self-checkout is the only option even. There are other times where the full-serve lanes are moving at a snail's pace with the self-checkout lanes free. I would recommend serving the customers in the way they want to be served. So much is done already done online so it's important to have excellent in-store customer service.

A word of advise to buyers: for the sake of your already vulnerable mental state you may want to check your order on spot - when you pick it up at the 'curb side". Returns are not currently allowed so you have to put on hold your project or order more and wait longer. Of 20 various sized lumber pieces ordered online 6 were damaged: either split in the middle, shortened due to a smashed end, other sorts of damage that renders them completely unusable for the intended purpose; it is over 25% of the entire order and is unacceptable. I mean, would you put a piece of 1x6x8 in your cart when it's barely held together by a few wood fibers and would fall apart once you start working on it? It might be the same person who saw the lumber was damaged and still picked the pieces and then assembled the order putting the damaged pieces in the middle of the pile and turned most damaged sides inside and wrapped them up? I cannot imagine a few people in that assembly line all failed to notice so much damage! Or if they did notice then they decided it's all right, it's not THEIR order. Being in a lockdown is not an excuse; that is just plain and simple - bad customer service.

I visited five carpet stores in Red Deer before being lured in to Home Depot by their promise of free installation. Beware! Advance Flooring (the carpet installer that they subcontract) are crooks! I had already done a rough estimate of my living room size (12'x16'), but the lady from Advance Flooring said it was 12'3" wide (measuring with her laser pointer), which would require buying extra carpet to fill in that last 3-inch strip. After she left, I measured it again myself very carefully, and my living room is 11'8" wide; one 12'-wide roll of carpet should be enough. I noticed that she was sloppy with her laser pointer, resting it on top of the stair railing to make the measurement instead of placing the butt of the pointer on the side of the railing. When I got the estimate, it was the most expensive of all of the stores I had been to, despite free installation! Furthermore, it wasn't itemized, so I couldn't see the calculations that went into the subtotal ($/sq.ft. x square footage), so I couldn't figure out if the expense was due to inaccurate measurement, wrong carpet price, wrong pad price, or what. When I asked for an itemized estimate, she refused, simply reiterating that installation is free. I went with another store in the end -- one which gave me an itemized estimate (so I could know where to save costs) and which more accurately measured my living room at 11'9" wide (requiring only one roll of carpet). Home Depot's good reputation is being dragged down by association with this dishonest company! They should disassociate themselves with Advance Flooring.

Nice big store. The staff are very friendly most of the time always asking if we need help. They have a Harvey’s outside that closes at 8pm and a huge parking lot. Nice clean washrooms and accessible entrance. In summer I get my flowers and plants from there. They also carry Christmas and seasonal decorations. We get the paint and washroom renovation materials there as well as the temporary signs (house for sale/open house etc) I recommend this place much bigger than the home hardware. They cut keys and wood. They have roofing materials. If you are new to renovating by yourself they also have books and will guide you.

I'm not sure what happened to this store but when Phil was at the Building centre pro help desk, it was the best place to shop for materials to build. Lately the staff they had there have been unwelcoming, un-interested and unhelpful. It's three separate times, three different ladies that are put there too. We spend up to 15k a year sometimes on business related purchases and other personal purchases. We went there the other day to purchase almost 1200$ of OSB material and asked for help to load the material on our truck. The lady at the front told us to "load it ourselves". As if hauling 30+ full sized boards onto the cart would be "easy peasy". Either way, after hauling 12+ boards onto the cart and realizing that not only was it tedious and back breaking work, we'd have to haul it the other way to the truck. We gave up and spent only $400. A simple forklift would have saved time and gotten us out of the store faster than lugging it by hand. Sorry to have bothered the lady at the Pro Desk, she's obviously too busy.... The place hasn't been the same ever since Phil left. Won't be going there unless there's something that's exclusively home depot now.

Smaller version of store. Drive-through lumber yard is closed for winter and poorly maintained. Was not designed for northern Ontario. Very pushy appliance sales. Customer service desk is very helpful but many of the staff on the floor have limited product knowledge and I always double check any advice I receive

Terribly run store with new COVID procedures. People at the entrance give you bad information, tell you to go to the wrong zone, online system for pickup works only some of the time. Tool rental is extraordinarily slow. Expect to be on hold for 15-20 minutes and then wait an additional 20 minutes to actually get an item. Time of day for service speed seems irrelevant, just always slow.

Tried twice to get assistance on two different days. Needed help to get a runner cut to length. No one came to help, even after asking someone from another department to call an associate.
