Lats time I needed an eye appointment I saw Dr. Dixit at Rideau Optmetric. It was a great experience and the new prescription was perfect - I don't know how I was getting around with my old glasses!

This office accommodated me for an urgent appointment when I forgot all my prescription lenses while traveling. Their office was friendly and efficient, and I left with some new knowledge about my eye care as well. It was a bonus to be able to buy glasses the same day at the adjacent Lens Crafters! A terrific experience.

I have been a patient of Rideau Optometric for 5 years.Although they are more expensive than some clinics in the downtown core, it is totally worth it! I am a bit nervous about health matters, and Dr. Chan as well as Dr. Butler have always gone out of their way to make sure my concerns are addressed. The retinal scanner they have is really cool! I am glad that I've never needed to have those dilation drops put in my eyes. I recommend this clinic to all of my family members and friends. Thanks Rideau Optometric!

My experience at Rideau Optometric has always been excellent for several years and several reason, the staff is very friendly and helpful and I only have great things to say about Dr. Butler, he is very professional, he takes his time, he explains everything really well and even made a recommendation to what type of eye glasses I should purchase for work at my last appointment, which I just love. I would recommend this clinic anytime !

I rarely leave a negative review, but I am disappointed by my experience with this office. While staff and Dr. were wonderful, the ethics are not. I've had an autoimmune disorder that affects my eyes for 19 years. It can cause vision loss, so it is considered quite serious and my appointments are fully covered by OHIP. I have a wonderful eye Dr. I see, but in March at the peak of the pandemic I had one of the worst flares in the history of my condition and she was closed. It was imperative I see a medical professional in person. Not wanting to burden/ being afraid to go to the hospital, I called my regular eye Dr. who directed me to this chain of clinics- literally the only ones open and taking patients in March. This clinic billed me $65 for "OHIP charges" something that in all my years of having this condition has never happened. I was told "It has to do with OHIP billing protocol, which can be very particular sometimes." So I paid out of my fear and desperation, shocked that they would be charging folks who were stuck seeing *only them* during a pandemic. It seemed an extra poor choice as everyone was so frightened and losing their jobs. It felt like a cash grab. I would still like my money back.

The staff at the glasses store are nice, but in the optometrists office... The receptionist is extremely unprofessional, and treated me like a child and would not take me seriously. I need to know the OHIP procedure code of the eye exam to ask my insurance if I am covered before booking, but she refused to give it to me. And she also said that they won’t provide me with a standard claim form and the only thing I could get would be the invoice (which is not enough to file an insurance claim even if it turns out they covered it). This visit happened on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 27, 2018. It felt like she was speaking to a child, and it made it awkward for my friend who was waiting. The optometrists don’t do direct billing, but the glasses store does. How weird is that. The optometrists are supposed to be independent yet within the store. $150 for an eye exam.

Dr. Butler is excellent with children and adults. We have seen him regularly for the past 6 years, and he and his team are professional, kind, incredibly patient with young kids. Best of all, Dr. Butler takes the time to help us understand our eye health instead of simply prescribing solutions. We highly recommend him and his team!

Had a great experience here for my eye exam. They were very efficient with all their testing and examinations, and thoroughly cleaned all equipment before and after each patient. Dr. Dixit was very knowledgeable and kind! Would recommend this clinic, and Dr. Dixit in particular.

I love this place so much! It's clear they really genuinely care about you and take the time to make sure the long term health of your eyes is being taken care of. They don't rush you out like so many places, but they take time to make sure you understand everything and answer any questions you have. They also take Covid very seriously, keep everything super clean, and keep you separate from other customers. They're the best of the best!

Totally recommend this location! Although my appointment was at 1:30 pm, I reached there early and the receptionist started the procedure early. She was sweet, did her job well and finished 2 examinations. By 1:38 pm, I saw Dr Dixit. She was polite, patient, answered all my questions well. I received 10 set of daily lenses which to be my surprise I didn't knew I'll get. They gave my receipt and claim form too for my insurance. The procedure was quick, smooth and I was done in nearly 20 mins. I am happy with the visit.

I had booked an appointment for a contact fitting. When booking over the phone I was told to bring my current prescription in person if it was within a two year time frame. I showed up for my appointment and handed my prescription to the receptionist with the date stamp of Feb 2017. They would not see me as they said my perscription was too dated (even though it was within the two year mark). I had booked this appointment 3 weeks ago and had to make special arrangements with my work to get the time off (the staff did not care when I mentioned this). I was told that my only option was to do a full eye exam (this was not what I was told over the phone). If I did choose to do an eye exam this would not be covered by insurance as I am still within my 2 year time frame of my current prescription, this appeared to me as a pure money grab. The staff do not seem to have a good understanding of their policy as I received different information (phone vs. In person). I would highly recommend going elsewhere!

I was treated by a young female optometrist. she asked me to use eye drops but it didn't stop my pain. Fortunatlly I tried another optometric clinic and they gave me FML and it cured me.

I just wanted to say thanks to the doctors and staff at Rideau Optometric for always being friendly and professional. I've been a patient for over 3 years, and have consistently been pleased with the services they provide. Dr. Butler is thorough in his exams and very pleasant to talk to. I especially appreciate that when I woke up one morning with an eye infection, they made a point to squeeze me in to their already busy schedule to ensure I was taken care of same day. Thanks again!

I took my (now) 4 year old daughter to her first appointment with Dr. Chan at the St Laurent center last year and she was so awesome I was a little disappointed when we returned this year and she wasn't at that location, but Dr. Butler was just as great!! He made it really enjoyable for my daughter (and me!) I would recommend either of those two to anyone, but especially anyone with kids. They're super friendly, approachable, and dare I say cool. Not your typical doctors! :) UPDATE: My daughter's now 8 and we make the commute to whichever location Dr. Butler is at. Still just as great as when we wrote this 3-4 years ago.

Very professional, clean and felt very safe with their covid protocols! My doctor Crystal was very friendly and a great help with all my questions. Reception staff was great as well. Would definitely recommend for getting an eye exam!

Had a fabulous and fun eye exam with Dr. Dixit at Rideau Optometry. I was greeted by a lovely receptionist who was very efficient and ensured all of the équipement was cleaned throughly before and after each patient. Dr. Dixit was very knowledgeable and energetic. I would recommend this clinic, but most of all Dr. Dixit!

Very professional and friendly staff. Dr. Dixit was my optometrist and she is clearly comfortable with patient assessments and management. They are a knowledgeable and competent group who look out for the safety and care of their patients. Location is great and the clinic is organized and clean. I plan to continue going to this location for all my eye care needs.

The customer service is nice. But the doctor seems a kind of not so professional(maybe just too busy). I brought my kid to this place today, as his left eye is a little bit nearsighted, which we found it yesterday. They asked for $65 as compulsory fee for retina exam. We don't really care about the money, although the other places are free for kids. The problem is the doctor didn't do the Dilated Eye Exam even we emphasized that we wanted to check the kid's vision problem. We realized that after we returned home. Now we have to pay another $115 to do the test :( Follow up: Katrerine explained everything for me, it is a miscommunication. Fast reply and great help, I think they really care their customers. Recommend!

The Best staff I've encountered. Not grumpy or unprofessional like going to the dentist. Lovely staff, and clinic. Too bad they are were fully booked, but I can see why, I look forward to a future appointment.
