Last night, the arm fell off of my eyeglasses. That arm had been loose. I could not find the screw. I do not have a spare of glasses with the same prescription; only a pair from 8 years ago that have a weaker prescription. I feared that it might take me week to have them replaced during the era of COVID-19. I need my glasses to work at the computer. I did a search and found Goo Goo goggles that repaired eyeglasses. I sent in an online request last night. This morning, I had a reply and an appointment time later in the morning. I am just returning from my visit to Goo Goo Goggles. I was greeted at the door by a pleasant person who took my glasses and worked on them while I waited outside. (For those reading this in the future, during the COVID-19 pandemic, this was the norm for most establishments.) After about 10 minutes, my glasses were ready. The arm was reattached and was no longer loose! They are like new. I tried to pay, but was told that it was on them. This might not be your experience, but I was very impressed with the service. I will definitely return if I ever need my glasses repaired.

I am so incredibly over the moon with the service at Goo Goo Goggles! Sorry in advance for the novel of a review. Let me preface that I thought looking for new glasses was going to be fun, but instead, it had been the biggest frustration. No other frames were comparing to my old ones, and I went back to my original glasses shop last to see if they could reorder the frames. They could, which was a huge relief, but I decided to try Goo Goo because I had always been curious about their funky style. When I first walked in, the person over the counter asked if I wanted help to look for glasses or wanted to be left alone, which is amazing! I feel as though so many shops don't give you breathing space to do your own shopping and it feels uncomfortable. After looking by myself for a bit, I felt comfortable enough to ask for some assistance. Rachel was awesome enough to inform me of an event coming up related to one of the brands in store, and then took me through affordable options that worked with my insurance. After having walked through several shops, all with choices that felt lukewarm, I finally found a pair of frames that spoke to me with Rachel's help. I had forgotten about my original frames, and was excited to be wearing the new ones from Mascot! The frames in the shop vary from the $200 - $500 range, and they have some incredibly gorgeous choices. Some of the Japanese brands were on the more expensive end (but were also much classier and sleek), while Mascot and a few vintage pairs were easier to work with for my insurance limit. While on a smaller end for a store, it felt super cozy and no one hovered over my shoulder. I'm really looking forward to picking up my new glasses in a week or so's time! I had such a great experience here! A pair of sunglasses I bought (from another store) had some metal nose pads that were irritating my skin. I had called a few other optical shops to ask if they could replace them to plastic, but was told no. I called Goo Goo Goggles and the person on the phone was so helpful and friendly, told me it would be no problem to swap the pieces for me. When I went to go bring the glasses in, I was blown away at how quickly they swapped them out for me and how great their customer service was - they did the service free of charge! I will definitely be back, and I highly recommend!

So disappointed in the service I received this week. My family purchased 3 pair of glasses late last year and had a great experience through it all. I needed a repair to the nosepiece and stopped by the shop this week . I do realize CoViD has us all doing things differently but being confronted with attitude about making an appointment and needing to leave them for 3 days could be met with a little more compassion. I didn’t want it fixed then and there and I had no issue with having to leave it. If after sales are not important, I will take the business elsewhere. Treating a customer like they are an interruption and a hassle doesn’t appeal to me as a consumer, I’m hoping maybe someone was just having a bad day!

I was visiting Victoria for the first time and my friend was eager to show me this store since I just graduated from Optometry school. I was not disappointed! The staff were super friendly. Although I didn't purchase a pair of glasses, I was Very excited when I saw these cute little glasses keychains (they're made from the extra material left after making real glasses!) I've never found anything quite like them and I must've returned to the store about 3 times because I kept thinking of optometry friends or friends back home that would love them (I ended up buying around 16 pairs of them as souvenirs and think the girls at the store will forever know me as the "keychain girl" ????) It was my last day in Victoria on one of my visits, and I wanted recommendations for where to go. One of the staff was kind enough to tell me her favourites from where to find fun postcards to where to go for lunch. Overall, I'm very happy to have discovered Goo Goo Goggles. I couldn't be happier with GGG! I walked in with 2 loose lenses (my old glasses broke beyond repair) and a tiny budget. They took excellent care of me, the person who helped me truly went above and beyond. They found me a great pair of frames from their $45 Clearance Selection, AND since they felt bad I was walking around with no glasses and it was possible to fix me up quickly, they fit my brought-in lenses into my new frames on the spot!! I was in and out in under 40 minutes, way under budget and with a huge smile on my face. You just can't find the same interesting range of frames anywhere else on the Island. A lot of what they sell is quite expensive, but I think the quality is worth it.

I broke my glasses this week, and require them to drive, I was able to hold them together for a few days till Saturday, I talked with Erin and Sam and told them my predictement. The were fabulous, I dropped off my damaged glasses first thing Saturday morning and by noon they had called and told me they were ready to be picked up! The best part is... Well... So been shopping at this place for my son.. IF it wasn't for my lady they would have given him someone else's prescription .. I Just found out that the glasses they said were fine are not (FOR THE THIRD TIME) and now the arm has completely come off. Their response. We already fixed them a couple times so we shouldn't have to do it again... Yu won't be doing it again EVER. Inept and incompetent are about the best thing I can say about this place.

I can't speak highly enough for the customer service and product I received at Goo Goo Goggles. I came in and admitted that I was very financially constrained, and rather than trying to upsell me on features I didn't need, they kept finding ways to get the price more affordable. I ended up with quality frames and lenses for 1/2 the price the competition had quoted me, perfectly fit and tuned to my needs. But above and beyond the financial considerations, the customer service was just so kind, generous and professional, and I love how LGBTQ+ positive the staff and business is. My cleaning cloth was even a Pride flag! I can't recommend this business enough, I really can't, especially if you are a member of the Queer community. But even if you are not, this is a business you can trust to meet your needs without engaging in predatory sales tactics such as Lens Crafters and the like. Even the turnaround on my lenses was lightning fast, and the support I've received for tuning and the like as I've gone in since has been exceptional and free, and everytime the staff recognized me and was incredibly friendly. My only frustration is that I can't give 10 stars!

Literally the most helpful fun and friendly people ever!! Put up with me being super indecisive about new glasses for ages and offered myself and my partner the best service experience and advice of all time!! They also do holds which is super wonderful, and they offer direct billing to a lot of different insurance providers. I could not have picked a better place to go! Another thing to add is they are very budget conscious and will not try to upsell you on anything so you do not feel pressured to go outside of your budget at all. They will put sunglass lenses in any of their vintage frames for a reasonable price. Recently I brought in a pair of glasses I didn't even purchase there and they replaced the nose pads on the spot for free! Great service and very friendly staff.

The morning of Good Friday in the middle of the Covid 19 crises I broke my glasses in half. I sent an email outlining my problem to Goo Goo Goggles to see if they could help me out. I got an email right back from Sam saying I could drop them off and she would see if my lens would fit in a new frame. We met outside the store due to the pandemic and I went back home. She called back within an hour saying she found one frame that would work. She sent me a picture of them and they looked great to me so I asked her to put my lenses in them. Within a few minutes she had my new glasses ready to go. I then was allowed in the store for my fitting and payment. The store is really welcoming with a vast array of unique frames that you will not see in other places. Sam was really helpful and great to work with amazing response times. I cannot say enough good things about the top quality service and the cool selections of frames. I will definitely be coming back to Goo Goo Goggles for my next pair of glasses.

Broke my glasses while waiting to board the ferry in Port Angela’s for a four day getaway to Victoria. Sent an email to GooGoo Goggles which was answered right away. The frames were ok but the right lens needed to be reset. The lens is held in at the bottom with a cord that looks like fishing line. This was broken. Dropped them off when they opened the next morning and they had them ready for me to pick up in less than an hour. I was fearing a huge charge but ready to pay. They charged me nothing and invited me to bring my service needs back to them. I wish I lived closer so I could. An amazing business!

I really appreciated the personal shopping they did for me before I ever set foot in the store. All I had to do was send them some inspiration photos and the staff selected a great assortment of glasses for me. When I arrived for my appointment all that was left was to sit down and try them on. I broke my glasses on the weekend and showed up at Goo Goo Goggles on Monday my glasses in my hand. Distraught would not be too strong a word to describe my mood. The team sprung into action. The floor person started helping me find a new frame, while the store manager frantically flipped through every drawer in the place to find me a cheap pair of frames to hold my current lenses. An hour later my distraught was gone; in its place a perfectly fine frame holding me old lenses, awesome new frame and an appointment for an updated optical prescription. Amazing! I can only say wonderful things about my personal experience with Goo Goo Goggles. I recently brought my 96 year old dad's glasses there after he suffered a fall which damaged his glasses. My father had purchased the glasses in another province before moving to BC. Despite having no prior dealings with him they promptly repaired as best they could his distorted frames .They put on new temple pieces all the while refusing to charge me anything for the repairs. They have opened a file in my Dad's name in case the repairs don't last and parts need to be ordered. Way to go Goo Goo Goggles.

The Goo Goo Goggles team and myself spent likely in the neighbourhood of 5 hours over the course of a month picking out new frames. Everytime I came in, even when Nigel the dog had other plans and I had to go alone, it was like picking up where we left off with friends who are super into glasses. There's no pressure to grab a pair of glasses and go, and the staff's opinions are honest and helpful. If you're a first time glasses buyer, or a veteran wearer, these kind folk will take great care of you.
