**Edited below Feb 2021** This is the first time my husband and I have shopped at Sherwin-Williams for paint, as we recently bought our first home together and wanted to use good quality paint. I can see why people choose specialty paint shops now - the staff member was not only friendly, but very knowledgeable. She didn't mind that I brought in items from our home to match, or that we wanted to match colours from a different brand. She had really wonderful ideas and insight, and was really helpful. The paint colours are all spot on and I can't wait to see how it transforms our space! **Edit** I'm disappointed how our experience panned out here. We returned four times, unfortunately, it was all for the same paint. We purchased nearly $500 worth of paint and supplies for the main floor of the house. We brought measurements of each room, to ensure we got the right amount of paint. Fast forward to cutting in one room, getting halfway through a wall, and running out. Not a big deal - we went back, and purchased another can of the same paint.; it makes sense that it would need extra to cover a light wall. I get home, paint the other three walls, just to realise the finish and the colour aren't anywhere near the same. I could have cried because again, I didn't have enough to redo all the cutting in. So back we went, and I bought two MORE cans so I could start over and not run out. In total, it took me over 20 hours to paint this room, and four cans of paint. Paint that is NOT inexpensive. The end result was beautiful, but it was painful to get there. When we started putting up art, the paint scuffed quite easily, and left marks when we tried to wash it down from drywall dust (when putting up curtains). I think I'll stick with Behr paint from now on. The worst part is - we bought SW paint for four other rooms in the house, and I'm dreading painting them. My advice is to buy two cans to see if you like it. The first can to try it out, and the second can to finish the room so you don't run out of paint if you like it.

Wish I could just share a pic of the THANK-YOU note Rebecca stuck to my purchase! Shopped at a couple places lately for paint but gotta say Sherwin Williams in Sackville, NS is my favourite. The product, which I hadn’t used before, is REALLY nice. But the staff at this store gets an A-PLUS from me during telephone consultation & front door pick up. Today, Rebecca sold me a paint that a Wednesday employee sent me out chips for. Point is these salespeople SOLD me on your product over the phone and no regrets ????????????????????????

Talked me into buying 1 can of stain when I needed 2 (because they didn't have 2 matching cans in stock I'm guessing). Went home to start staining and the color was not the same as I was shown at the store on the swatch. We were ok with the different color so proceeded with staining anyway. When I ran out of stain 3/4 of the way through the deck they sold me a totally different color when I went back (although I had the right product number, the worker said "its probably close"... it was not at all). I had to run around HRM to 2 other stores to find a match to finish the deck. Wasted 2 weekends worth of time staining a deck that should have taken one day. In the end they did honor the sale price on the second can purchased. Not impressed I lost out on 2 weekends due to oversight in customer service.

I was sent to Lower Sackville store a few weeks ago by the Burnside store as I had ordered my paint online but the colour was not quite dark enough when I started painting. I brought 4 cans into Sackville store. Brent was working and was able to darken the paint to just the colour I was looking for!! Very knowledgeable and great customer service! The quality of paint is excellent! Very pleased with the service!! Thank you Brent!!

Wasn't to impressed with the customer service by the crusty old woman at the counter. Wanted to match paint to an existing color. She said we don't do that unless you're buying the paint on the spot. I explained there was painter's buying the paint from them we just needed the correct paint code. Didn't seem interested and as were were walking out she offered to try and find something "close ". No thanks. Very ignorant and rude to someone that is a potential customer. Wouldn't waste my time or money with a business that doesn't show you any respect.

Attendant could not match our paint colour, he then took far too long to complete the order. Also your paints are considerably more expensive than competitors. Even with 40% discount we paid $300 for five gallons.
