Very welcoming place. For a small store its packed with more variety then you think. Ive tried alot of what they have to offer. And its great. Clean place might i add lol. I know covid is hurting us extremely. But it puts the mind a little at ease seeming theres only allowed a few people at a time. Quick service. They have a smile on even if you cant see it with the mask and all. And they are Representing us. Im about to sip some jd shore and enjoy it. Open 10am to 10 pm 7days a week. Without question, the best place in the North End to grab a craft beer or wine. This place has friendly staff, a wide selection of delicious drinks, and even a growler section. Unlike many liquor stores, Rockhead actually keeps a lot of beer and cider in fridges instead of on shelves, which is very helpful if you intend to drink it immediately. All around good store, would recommend to anyone who enjoys a good drink.

Interesting selection of products that you often can't find at the NSLC. There is a small liquor section as well, stocked with things I haven't seen elsewhere in the province. The store is attached to the Sobeys and is just past the last check out.

Great selection and staff. Perfect alternative to the NSLC if your focus is high quality items you can't get everywhere. Social distancing requires only four people in the store at one time so expect a wait unless you get curbside pickup. This is of course, not the fault of the establishment.

This is a great small location. They have a bunch of special organic wines and beers at pretty good prices. The hours are a little bit better then the standard liquor store hours. The employees are very knowledgeable on the products and if they don't know about one they have a co-worker that normally does. All in all a great place!

it's got beer, it's got wine, but no marijuana!! make sure to not open any of the bottels to smell them because it makes ( the staff upset. Also if you acidentally drop the ottles you don't have to pay for tem but it is derinitely frowbed upo n so don't do that either. hah ha Really all you should do is select the alcohol you wany, purchare it and leave promtply to your homr or reisdence. I learned this the hard way haha! So gfo here t o geT that alcoohol and it madkes the sad feeflings go away for a tim e.)

***My original review was 3-Stars on Facebook, but I'm pulling it back to 2 since they straight up deleted it.*** First off I should start with the staff, are absolutely wonderful. Without question. In what was my first visit in quite some time, I walked in to discover what once were shelves and fridge space dominated by purposefully selected and delicious craft beer, now being edged out with macro selections, homer favorites, unchanged offerings, and RTD selections that left me feeling blank (like some of the beer shelves). There are some nice bottles at amusing prices however, as well as cans of nickelbrook headstock which is a great bang-for-your-buck selection. I will say the wine selection is nice, but limited; If you ask the right questions, you can find what you need, especially if you're looking to spend between $20-$30 for something decent but not too far beyond the reach of serviceable. It's like an NSLC-ish experience but with less selection and more helpful staff.

I was there 2 days ago and I forgot my wallet so I informed them I dont have my ID with me, i apologized and left the store. Today I went there and had a quick chat with the cashier before I pay i told him" I forgot my ID the other day so I came back today". After offering him my ID he asked me to take my mask off so he can see me!? I did it but do they have any right to ask me that ?! BTW, I'm 31 years old!

Rolled in there with one thing on my mind. The employee and I locked in a mask-laden stare. He says "may I help you?" But I know what he meant. It had been a long day, and he had given it a solid effort, trying to appease the unappeasable. The only thing he lacked more than rest, was patience. Little did he know that he was in for a friendly experience. I led with "Actually, yes", and the rest, as they say, is history. Exemplary service provided, hundreds of dollars spent, and a ridiculous, drunken, 5 star review written. You may think this is absolute stupidity. I call it a solid end to a freakin awesome day.

On November 7th I stopped in with my 15yr old daughter to purchase my advent beer for my husband. I was told that my daughter was not allowed in the store and she would have to stand outside on the sidewalk or inside Sobeys while I made my purchase. I questioned this as it didn't seem correct - I was purchasing the liquor, not my 15yr old daughter. I was also not purchasing it for her. I will NEVER step foot in there again. I have purchased liquor before with children in tow and never questioned. I also looked up the liquor laws and no where could I find where it says children are unable to accompany their parents in a liquor store. Terrible customer relations!

I visited this store today to buy a couple of imported beer(s). My wife and I went to the cashier near the interior entrance by Sobeys after getting our items and then we were directed to go to the other cashier near the exterior door entrance because the cashier where we were had to help someone out side with a large order. Right after we went to the other line that cashier demanded for us to go back to the other side again where a new cashier appeared. This all happened in a matter of a few seconds. He should have been nice about it and could have just said hey sorry guys I gotta get you to head back to the other side. (The rude male cashier has long graying dreads that he has tied back.) After he told us to go to the other cashier I told him that we had just been directed to him and he got pretty rude with his reply telling us "Well!, now there's a cashier there!!" and then proceeded to turn around and start talking trash to three other customers that were standing in line waiting for him to ring them through and did it right in front of us. My wife and I just brushed his rudeness off with me saying "indecisive" out loud (Just so you know who is writing this review. At the end of the day we are paying customers and we feel that he was unprofessional and should not be acting in the manner that he was on our visit to this store. All and all the store is a very good store, it has a lot of imported beer/liquor that you cannot get any where else that I have found in Halifax. I gave the store a 2 out of 5 stars just because this cashiers behavior. This is not the first time he has been rude to us. He is the only one there that ever has an attitude about him. We are always nice when we come into the store as we are everywhere so I don't understand what his problem is. The cashier that did serve us was a woman and she was very nice and made up for his lack of professionalism. I hope management has a talk to you about how your conduct yourself in the store in the future and remember to be nice to your paying customers. My wife is in customer service and has a belief "Your customers are essentially paying your wages so treat them with the respect they deserve." and this might be a thing to keep in mind.

I used to love this place, however, the customer service has gone way down hill. I was in on Thursday 7 Feb in the evening and the staff was not service oriented in the least. Peter, the best staffer that was here, has left and gone to The Port. Supporting local businesses is important, but this one has to up its game to survive.

Rockhead is a great place to find more obscure items that may not be in the Liquor Store. Staff is always knowledgeable, willing to answer questions and make suggestions. During lockdown we ordered online for curbside pickup, our order was ready as promised plus staff met us and loaded our vehicle with a cheerful manner.

I want to start off by saying that I have shopped at your store around a dozen times and have always had great service. Today (Sunday, August 26th) I came in at around 4:15 p.m. and received the same great service from the staff circulating the sales floor. However, when I got to the cash I was met by and extremely rude, dismissive cashier. He did not acknowledge me (no hello, how are you, etc.) when I put my bottles down and immediately grabbed them and started scanning. I said "these are eventually going to go in my backpack so I don't know if you have a box or packaging or something for that." He did not respond and continued scanning and said "that will be $45.73 whenever your ready." At this point I am fumbling to get my wallet and wrap the bottles myself and he does not offer to help in any way. I had to ask for a receipt as it was not offered to me (the other dozen or so times I have been in this has always been an option presented to me). Furthermore, as I continued to wrap my own bottles without his help, a line was starting to form behind me. He proceeded to start serving the guy behind me and pack his bottles up, all while rudely reaching over me in the process (I think it goes without saying that he did not say "excuse me"). After I had finished packing my bag, I said thank you (I don't know why, there was no service to thank him form - I guess it is just force of habit) to which I received no reply. All around, this was a really rude and dismissive experience and would have been in any context, let alone in a retail environment between a customer and employee. He was not wearing a name tag, so I can't identity him by name but my receipt says cashier 632. He was wearing a long sleeved white Hollister shirt, just in case he was logged in under someone else's account. I work in retail and I can understand customer interactions can be difficult, especially when it is busy. I am trying to give this guy the benefit of the doubt but I can't see any situation in which this behaviour is acceptable. He clearly does not have a skill set suitable for retail.

This place has a great selection of beer. There is a lot of choice, not just the usual diluted water beer. There are some crazy flavors, but also good quality beer. The staff have always been helpful. I can't comment on the wine and cider, because it is not something I have bought. The beer can be bought in cases or singles. It is also very convenient when I am doing the monthly shop.
