Wow! Very interesting store. If you're looking for something specific and have some special project in mind, this is might be the place you looking for. I was searching for specific pvc connectors that none of stores had. These guys helped me with that and everything was in stock wich is rare in NS. Good stuff! Thanks.

Good selection but you need to know what u I u are looking for when you are here. Was time consuming finding the item I wanted as I had to fill out a form to have the staff pick it from stock out back.

This isn't your typical tool / hardware store and I think many fail to realize that / keep that in mind. It's slower, there may be a wait ... but you'll be rewarded with incredible service. I've been to this location several times in the past but a recent visit really impressed. I've been on the hunt for ladder hardware (specifically hardware for a ladder that would be used to access a cubby space). Lee Valley didn't have what I needed, but staff conveyed interest in the project and were quick to provide recommendations. I felt valued and despite not having any luck (with regards to my specific project) I'll be sure to visit again. A great resource for Haligonians seeking an alternative to the other box stores.

Not a fan. I know a lot of people love this place, but I was really surprised to find out that you couldn’t just pick anything up off the shelf and buy it. You have to fill out an order form and have the staff go get it from their warehouse. Like the old Sears catalogue days that I thought went with the DODO bird. Even if they did have items on the shelf you could buy, a paper form still had to be filled out, by you, or the staff would have to do it. Family run business and I know a lot of people love it. I will be in no rush to come back though. I can see they may have unique, quality items, but I didn’t see anything that would make me want to convert to their way of experiencing shopping.

The older fellows that work here know their stuff, almost worth it to come here just to get some tips from them! Some of the stuff at lee valley is overpriced. I'd say it's probably 1/20 of the things they carry, but if you know what you're looking for and compare prices beforehand, you won't be disappointed. Most of the time, compared to the hassle of going with other places to save pennies, it's worth your time more to go to lee valley. It has saved me from making unnecessary trips so many times

Lee Valley has that tool you need but can't find anywhere else. They even have tools that are based on antique models that have been tried and true designed. They will have that one item you didn't even know existed but now that you see it you have to have it. A wide variety of gardening items. Mostly woodworking tools. Great looking store inside and out.

Just stopped in to ask for a help with getting a couple bolts cut and threaded for a part to a skateboard. Rona, Home Hardware, Home Depot, and Kent were unable to help me. The guys at Lee Valley figured they could find a solution: so they took the bolts, did it, handed them back to me 20 minutes later and said, "Have a nice day! Don't worry about it," and didn't even charge me... It's the kind of service that the next time I have a gardening or hardware issue; I'll come here first. In short: Super friendly and helpful. Great place and great return policy. Those that complain about prices obviously did not price compare their items with the identical item elsewhere. You can't compare a Fiskars Axe with a Mastercraft one and expect same price. They carry quality items for fair prices. Great place to deal with.

I bought the most expensive ocidental tool belt they offer and was told if I ever had any issues to bring it in . One of the pouches tore at a rivet so I brought it back only to be told nothing could be done for me !!! What a joke if you buy tool belts from them don't trust any warranty talk from them

A guy name Andrew was very knowledgeable and friendly. He showed me and convince me to buy only to then find out some of the items were out of stock. Most of the merchandise as sold at full retail. In my opinion both the client and the store would benefit if they would put items on sale.
