As you know, we don't usually stop to give feddbacks when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Optics Shop belongs to the category of Shopping mall.
Too many high end stores. Once upon a time I was able to go here for almost all of my shopping. Now I'd rather go to bayers lake where I can find a better variety of stores and much better prices. What happened to the Halifax shopping centre that used to cater to the community? Now it only caters to the rich.
Nice place with multiple options. Don’t eat there especially at the Chinese restaurants, very bad food. Got food poison next day.
No place to drink and eat rather than the low class food court. No place to have a booz. Escalators are almost always broken and the lack of maintenance is obvious. I can't stop comparing this place with West Edmonton Mall and that's the reason I feel I've gone to a village market.
This mall has improved a lot in the last few years. The renovations on the top floor have really opened it up and all the windows really bring a lot of light in. There is a good selection of stores and the new food court is awesome.
I believe this to be the best mall in Nova Scotia. Not many stores there for "real men"... However, it is a great place to watch the social Freak Show while my wife shops.
I feel like the variety of stores has gone down a bit in the last few years, however, I still can typically find what I’m going to look for.
The guide is not very useful. It shows the store I'm looking for without any context or path from where I am so I had to guess how to find it. I ended up walking almost the entire mall to find the store I wanted (perhaps that is the intention).
The mall has tons of boutiques and restaurants. It's convenient to come by. Very clean and has enough parking spots to park your car. My favourite spot by far in the city
A variety of stores on all of the different levels. Plenty of parking although the spaces are narrow and cars are held up for people trying to get into the parking spaces. Not from Nova Scotia it was difficult to locate the store I wanted. There are no directions or map of the mall at the entrances. There is an information counter however, a line up from people doing fist checks. Would suggest to add location LED screens at each entrance with a nap layout of the Mall. Clerks and checkout staff ate very helpful and friendly. A great place to shop overall.
Food court is now downstairs instead of top floor, lots of new different options and even a few places outside to sit. Other renovations on the mall look great and some new higher end stores.
Love this mall! So many awesome stores to shop at and they are always making improvements. Super clean bathrooms, fantastic food court and huge selection of stores to choose from. I can spend hours here!
Woohoo just gave this place five stars looks like it deserves it because I just hit post it so this is now set in stone engraved forever on Google maps thank you so much Google for giving me the power to use my voice in my fingertips for the greater good of human shopping needs.
Easy to park, great layout & always very clean! Lots of shops, I never go anywhere else to buy clothes/makeup/shoes, etc.
So many different stores and places to eat
So easy to find what I want to get. Very friendly staff members from Coach, to LA VenRose, to Halifax Watch Co , Kiels, Butler Optical and of course Second Cup and always the helpful staff at the Customer Service desk. Great place to shop.
Quite a great place, but every time I came, i just feel is was a little too small to call a shopping center. Easy transportation and have a lot of parking spots.
This place has come a long way in the past few years. Lots of great shops. I wish there was more "day to day" shops in it still and I miss the crew at the bowling alley... But it's all about progress!
This is a slightly more upscale mall than others and offers many large chain stores, particularly clothing and footwear. The food court has a lovely large window to sit near, but the acoustics make it unpleasantly loud.
I love how the glass ceiling is striking now that the new stores, Zara and H&M. The stores are both spacious. Makes for a "relaxing" day at shopping. Beautiful stores for every price range. Something for all ????
Very bright and modern place to shop. Great new food section. A little heavy in just clothing, cosmetics and clothing but enough variety to make a trip worth it.
Great improvments. Lots of stores. Wide selection.
I'm glad they're revamping the look of the mall - it looks a lot better than it did years ago. It's becoming more modern and I feel it can keep up with Mic Mac a little easier. Shopping wise, it is the better mall on the Halifax side but I still find Mic Mac has a better selection.
Really nice, recently redesigned interior. The food court area is particularly nice in it's design and selection. Lots of space, lots of natural light, clean. Parking garage is free, and super convenient. Lots of great shops, a nicer alternative to another mall like the MicMac.
:(... it's a shopping center, pls make it vivid with music and light. Make me want to spend money, don't make me fall asleep..please..
Spent about 5 hours here. Lots of shops and food selections. I found a lot of high end boutiques. Not many shoe stores. Could use a Simons :)
Great place, and it has improved over the last couple years with a very bright food court with exceptional washrooms and numerous food choices. The mall is well laid out and a a decent amount of trendy stores and choice.
With all the construction going on, it's really hard to find the stores you are looking for. The bathrooms were dirty, and I just didn't feel like I was in a shopping atmosphere. The stores in the mall are comparable to their Mic Mac Mall counterparts.
As of Monday August 31st 2020 it was unclear as to what stores are open past 7 p.m. I had an errand Iplanned for the mall and had to reschedule because the the particular store I wanted to go into did close at 7 though the website to that store said was open til 9l but obviously it wasn't. It's still all a little confusing.
First time to visit this place. We asked someone on our way in if we can bring Hero, our puppy, in and the lady said yes. We went on, came across a few security personnel throughout the day and all is good. Even asked the customer service desk for some directions and all is still good. We came back the next day and after a couple of hours, a security approached us to tell us that pets are not allowed. My face was like ???? are you serious? I mean, okay, that’s fine, I understand but what changed from yesterday and today?!? Hubby said not to argue as we need to go anyway, but i feel a bit sad that puppies are being discriminated. ???? as you can see he’s a tiny fella on a leash that couln’t hurt. And he’s hypo allergenic too. Fully trained to pee on pod and outdoors.
Very interesting place lots of stores ????
Visitors are not warmly welcomed here in Halifax Over here people's are watching your skin color Very rude faces here Will not recommend
It's been a few years since I have been to this shopping centre and then the other day during my vacation, I decided to stop by. The whole mall has been renovated and looks wonderful. I also managed to score some great deals on clothes. Can't wait to stop by again. The only thing bad I can say is that it is a bit smaller if you are used to big city malls. So it may not have all the shops you are looking for.
I love how relaxed the environment is and customer service is extremely helpful and always have a smile and is polite.
I like the Halifax Shopping center. It's not the be all end all for your shopping needs, but it does cover some serious ground. Unless you are looking for serious designer outlets (Gucci, Prada, Hermès..etc) you will pretty much find what you need here. Just enough to keep you busy. As well, there's food. The best part of shopping, is always the food court.
That mall always get better/Safer and bigger and Busier and that mall is a good mall to go to just because it have a book store Indigo and an Apple Store and a game store and Spencer and a Food courts and a bunch of Shoe Store for Women and men and a Sport Check and at least 2 Soap store and so much mores
Nice and clean, good job with the renovation, food court is now in the lower level. They have every store you would need, from bookstores, bowling, Michael Hill, Victoria's Secret, Coach, Michael Kors, Call it Spring. Everything is in Halifax Shopping Centre.
Great shops and services. Also a variety of pop up resturants. The atmosphere is modern and new. How evere the stores can be more towards the high end mark, winners is lovatrd just accross the street at the mumford shopping center annex.
Since renovating the mall has veered towards a 'high end' look. A lot of selection, although some stores don't vary much from the next. Beautiful food court called 'The Terrace' and easily accessible for all, good luck with parking though.
This mall is becoming a wonderful place to shop. The new food court is similar in design to larger malls throughout the country. The mall has a good selection of shops from mid to high range fashion.
The food court in this mall was redone a few years back. It has very high ceiling with skylights and is essy to get to from the outside. Many types of food are offered, from the usual fast food places to ethnic choices and healthier offerings The mall itself has variety of shops, but not much to offer guys other than a small handful of clothing shops, only one for older gents (Tip Top), and a large sports store. A few high end stores for the ladies. I always head to Halifax Watch Company for near instant battery or strap replacement. The mall is on the higher end overall and offers a bright, roomy and pleasant experience.
Great place for shopping. But you should have some security measure for the people racing in the parking place. Why don't you put some speed breaker? I am scared of my life every time I visit and park here.
It's the local large indoor mall. It's good. The food court in particular has a very good variety. Parking is also free, which is a big benefit versus going downtown.
Great place, large , with parking Two parts of the street For sport clothes or cheaper winners Nice Rich all taste food court below Banks Cellphone and wireless companies Etc... Easy access Busses or cars Must check
Food Court looks very nice since renovated and relocated. Not a lot of parking for disabled, or anyone for that matter, near the Food Court Door, making it difficult for many customers. No bank machine on Food Court Level. Many customers complain that there is none available and that they have to go looking for one up on upper levels of Mall. There are many customers who come into Food Court from the Patio doors just to grab something to eat or to get a cup of coffee and they need to use the bank machine, but there is none to be found. People smoking on patio or steps beside patio should not be permitted. Every time I come to the Patio Doors there is a wall of smoke to walk through. The garbage/recycle bins seem to be great coffee tables and leaning posts for smokers. Maybe since patio furniture is out for the Summer things will get better.. The rest of the Mall is looking great. What I have been able to see of it anyway. Mobility being my issue.
My favorite shopping centre. It's small enough that it still feels cozy, but it's large enough to offer a wide selection of shopping experiences. The public washrooms are easy to find, and immaculately clean (I have never seen such well kept facilities). There are hand sanitizing stations near all frequently touch surfaces. Surprisingly everybody seems to respect the need to wear a mask. The stores that I frequent, the staff is friendly, and helpful. Such a positive shopping experience it's worth driving from Annapolis Royal. (But please don't until covid-19 is eradicated, stay the blazes home).
I used to work in the Halifax Shopping Centre from 2003 to 2004. The mall has changed a lot since then. There are now more stores and a better selection of them. The food court on the ground floor has reasonable options and is well lit with natural lighting. The mall is clean, much cleaner than it was in the past.
Pretty inside but, not alot of the stores are useful to the average person. They need some furnishing and home decor, an actual sit down restaurant, and something dept store like... maybe a big homesense.
Great place ! Has all the stores you want ( including a official apple store) and is very well cleaned and maintained. Love the giant skylights all over the mall and they have tons of options from AandW to Japanese restaurants and new York fries there is lots to eat here!
Amazing place! Various food vendors, and many many shops to cater to anyone's interests. I would give this a 4.5 if possible, but the ONLY reason I'm not giving it a 5 is because of the layout. The layout of the mall is a little confusing, but once you get the hang of it you're good to go.
It takes a ,getting used to, . I was more 'at home' in the old shopping centre but I have to admit the new look is more attractive and more 'hip'. It caters to the young generation with more name brand stores eg Apple, Coach, La Vie en Rose and many more. I feel these stores are not for me, retired and living on a fixed income. The new ball seems to be catering to young people with good incomes. I do like the shoe stores, the food court, the book store and a few other favourites. I do think the new look of the Halifax Shopping Center is for young, hip, shoppers.
Great location. All the standard shops. One big square to walk around and it comes with an apple store
Much prettier since the construction has finished. Lots of natural sunlight. The only Apple Store in the maritimes. Convenient wheelchair access and elevators in several spots. I'm here every week.
Mall is too expensive. Great I guess if you're looking for designer items but not even close to affordable for the average family. Parking is tight and confusing. Atmosphere is also overly bright and is hard on the eyes. Mic Mac Mall is far better for the average person.
A good selection of chain stores and private shops. All amenities a shopper could want plus a section devoted as a professional center with various practices available, ( massage therapy - school, chiropractor, etc.) It is really a one stop for all needs and there is ample parking everywhere. A good transit system runs through on a regular basis.
Love the new food court, although it's tricky to find a spot that is less noisy.
Glad to see this mall coming back to life! Good place to shop.
It's a mall, a good mall, and the only one in Halifax that matters. Despite that, it's pretty well designed - and only slightly confusing to navigate.
First visit was good. Nice stores, social distancing and cleaning protocols are in place by the shopping centre.
Centre is modern, always clean and a great place to have a great indoor shopping experience. Good variety of stores. Now with Zara and H&M opened, it makes it even more attractive.
It’s a mall, pretty nice
It's a beautiful place to shop. They set up arrows on the floor for one way traffic......now people just need to follow them!
This mall has been extensively renovated in the past couple years. There is a very spacious eating area on the lower level. There is a good variety of popular shops. Sears are still there. It's a great place to shop!
Halifax Shopping centre is a great mall. LOTS OF VERY GOOD STORES, BASICALLY EVERYTHING under one roof. Thanks Sheila Fugere
Honestly, very disappointed in your shopping center. I do not live close by and went in for two stores that were CLOSED ON A THURSDAY EVENING (between 6-9pm). How do you run a business when you have multiple store closures and no news about that?! Made my experience there awful and my trip unsuccessful. Very disappointed and you should get your social media team trained on updating shoppers on unexpected closures with your stores.
Lots of good shopping ???? The restaurant Culture was really good
Large mall with plenty of great stores. Maps are definitely your friend when it comes to navigation if you haven't been here before, but the layout isn't very confusing. Escalators throughout to move around this multi-level building.
The place getting busier with more open stores
This shopping centre has most of the stores I like. It's new and modern, easy and lots of parking available. I love the food court. The is more than just your typical fast food, more than just a couple of better quality - and healthy - food options
Picked up medication at lawtons. Staff is always pleasant and friendly.
Although it's not that big for a city size like Halifax, but it's beautiful place. I have visited there several times and keep visiting there, because there are many various shops available there, very convenient parking lot and all doors and parking lot there are support people with disabilities. Washrooms are very clean and well taken care of them, the interior of mall is very clean and there are more spots to have a coffee and rest. Overall I recommend this place for your shopping.
It's a nice mall, but security has no idea how to ensure lines are social distancing to allow regular shoppers space to walk according to the arrows!
This place has really upped it's game from a decade ago when it was pretty boring. The mall is beautiful after recent renovations, the food court is expansive, the Apple and Telus stores have all the cool tech and gadgets you need. Lots of clothes and other options and luxury brands there too. Worth a visit, probably better than the next best mark, MicMac.
Although the renovations are not complete, the mall feels different in a good way. Now it's much more in line with the better and bigger malls around the country. However, some brands are still missing from the Halifax Shopping Centre's store portfolio.
Spacious, good selection of shops. Open on Sundays.
I always enjoy the Halifax Shopping Centre. Unfortunately I think shopping options are a bit limited as many of the stores are either very similar in products or serve only a certain demographic. I have some favorite shops here though and it's a nice place to meet up with people for a day out.
Majority of stores are rather expensive but the place has a very nice feel to it
Beautiful building and so many stores
The recent renovations have made a huge difference in this mall. Large variety of stores to shop from and lots of options. The food court, named the Terrace, is also great! With lots of healthy options and a good amount of variety. Great shopling location! :)
Very disappointed in the layout and facilities of this mall. Not impressed with the store lineup, either. The stairs/escalators and public washrooms are few and far between, and the interior definitely needs some updating (i.e. a decor make-over). Lots of wear, broken surfaces, etc., mar the appeal. Even the food court's fairly new relocation into the basement is very uninviting, noisy, and visually unappealing, looking much like an army mess hall.
Great shopping centre, easy to lose many hours wandering in and out of shops. Good food court down below too with lots of seating. Plenty of toilets throughout the mall as well as many garbage and recycling stations.
Large mall with a lot of stores but as an individual with disabilities I thought it didn't look good that the accessible door on the second level was inoperable which made it difficult to both enter and leave with my mobility scooter. SHAME!
Awesome contemporary bright clean upscale renovated mall with the best food court this side of Canada! Lots of amazing stores to shop at while being close to other shopping conveviences right across the street. Huge difference from when i was growing up.
New upgrade looks really good.. a bit difficult to find the stores, need more maps and directions to stores.. lots of parking and many places to sit for shoppers.. food court is well placed and had a good variety of options.. outside patio is also a good seating spot for summer time..
Great place to shop.Everything you need under one roof!
Good options of stores. Very clean and organized.
I really love the Brand new look...but I think a of their stores are very over priced....shopping only when sales are on. SPORT CHECKS ARE REASONABLE AND UP TO DATE SPORTS WEAR!! OTHER STORES ARE MORE REASONABLE PRICE. MOST OF THE NEWER STORE ARE OVER PRICED!
Recently updated and modern layout makes for pleasant environment. Stores are very unique in layout and design. Could use a little more greenery for my tastes and parking could use a bit of an update but overall great shopping experience. ☺
Harder to afford ever since Ontario teachers union took over and replaced all the low income friendly stores with expensive high end stores. Beautiful renovations made, just sad that the only place we can afford now is the drug store and the food court.
Lots of great shops, some higher-end/more name-brand shops available. Newly renovated, entire mall looks fresh and modern – food court especially. A bit out of the way for some but not a deal breaker considering their selection of storefronts.
Halifax Shopping Centre has been my go-to for any major shopping ???? I do for special occasions like Christmas. I also go to The Head Shoppe on the upper level.
Nobody there mid week awesome ! People need to still follow floor direction arrows though. 100% use of masks!
I love going shopping here! It's so big and things are just getting improved! I think the wide verities of food and shops is incredible, and the new glass elevator is so pretty!???? I recomend for you others who don't shop here, to start shopping here!!!
About 170 shops, services and restaurants. The new food court looks great - very modern. Renovations will make the mall look even better than it did before, which was nice enough.
This is a very busy shopping center! I do like it though because of its convenient location and ample free parking. You have to be really careful when parking because there are tons of pedestrians due to its proximity to the transit stop where all the buses connect. The layout of the place is a little awkward, but once you get the hang of it it isn't too bad. Lots of good stores in here
The Halifax Shopping Centre has enough variety that any shopper, regardless of preference, could find a store that suits their tastes. And speaking of tastes; the food court here has a surprisingly diverse selection of restaurants to choose from; there's something for everyone, from franchises to international cuisine. Between the food court and the multiple coffee shops, shoppers will have plenty of opportunities to refuel during an extended shopping session.
Beautiful place to hangout with friends and family. Nice food court and shopping places. Parking facility is also convenient.
This placed is packed with a large variety of stores to choose from, however it can get confusing remembering where everything is. Some of the stores are pretty high priced but there are a few stores that offer more reasonable value mixed in as well. The food court also offers a lot of different choices.
Current renovations add a lot more room for stores. The new food terrace has great seating and food. Looking forward to see kind of new stores they will open with the new space.
Great mall. Parking was a little hard to reach coming from certain directions, hence the 4 stars. Aside from that, the mall is clean, fairly well laid out and the sound doesn't echo as bad as some of the other larger malls.
I preferred it before the renovation. If you go, good luck trying to follow the arrows laid out on the floor. Whoever came up with that layout must be related to whomever laid out the streets in Boston. If you've been there you know what I mean.
Great cheap breakfast just 4.59 includes sausage scrambled eggs and two biscuits ! Great value ! Fast friendly table service I also get a glass of water great for on the run breakfast ! Coupons are available on I phone app and mail out which makes it even more affordable and varies your choices and selections great for a quicky breakfast
There are plenty of things to see, that's for sure! I get lost pretty easily, but I do like how you can explore the mall. Interesting variety of food, too!
Big mall with hundreads of shops. They have good parking lots too to park customers car. First floor is mainly filled with restaurants and fast food. I recommend you to go there, If you are planning to buy clothes or footwear, they have almost all shops and good collection for that.
Closes at 7 pm and barely has any stores. Such a depressing mall
You will find what you want here. it's a small shopping center but u have everything.
Too many people in there at a time of a pandemic. Maybe I should have just stayed away but now I know
Great shopping center and they have done a good job of laying out arrows and directions to promote social distancing. Sadly there were a lot of idiots shopping today who ignore the arrows and spoil it for everyone.
I just went to the mall to pickup a pair of sneakers that I ordered off of sport checks website. The store had them in stock so I only had to wait half of a day before they were ready for pickup. Parking lot was pretty full which seems to say it is only going to get more crowded toll christmas.
The new renovations look very nice. Love the plants throughout— always nice to see real plants in malls and not dusty fake ones. 2.5 level mall. Nicer than any in the rest of the east coast
I enjoy walking around the mall and going to the food court. Not many stores grab my attention anymore. I don't go into the super expensive clothing stores or the ones that sell only expensive shoes or purses. The mall has gotten too high end and expensive for the city that Halifax is. The relatively new food court on the bottom level is fantastic, the restaurants are set up very nice and you can easily see your options even from a distance. Much more seating and just a better set up than years ago.
About the most popular place in halifax and perhaps Nova Scotia. I actually rated it 5 star not that it meets up with bigger complex inn Toronto or Calgary but because it is resourceful for it compactness. Store in it are doing great with there wares. It's is an exquisite place and pristine .
I went in to pick up an order at indigo. Mall was quiet and nice. I even took a few minutes to look a what I'd like for my spring shoes
This mall is great! Lots of stores for every age group and taste. Fantastic food court. Bathrooms were clean and large with touchless faucets etc. Plenty of free parking.
Love the pop up store freak lunchbox so great
The mall has changed from before and I think it looks amazing. More stores, better cafeteria and just better looking in general. The mall is more crowded I find but what do you expect when you improve and upgrade older things. I give this mall a 9/10 for its great shops, good customer service and variety of restaurants
It's good. Many stores in that mall. You can get everything you need there.
Do you have another option in the city for shopping
Despite the recent facelift, HSC continues to aim high and fails to really deliver. All of the most usefull stores are ones you can shop online from so why bother trudging around the mall? That being said, it's a pretty decent looking food court.
Very nice mall. Lots of new high end stores as well as some familiar ones. Big new food court but it sadly lost 'Battered Fish'. It also could use at least a couple of places to get a burger, A&W is the sole winner in this food court. Maybe some local artists could come play music....
Good place to hang out. Stores are a little expensive but have good products. Food court is good and there are 3 new restaurants to open up. Currently the shopping center is under renovations.
Well maintained but not much showrooms to shop for clothes. But the food court is quite nice , you can get affordable meals there . Good to take your friends for a quick snack
Nice shopping center buy anything like kitchen equipments to some home essentials, clothes, books, toys, jewelry and other things. Shopping center has good parking area and nice building structure.
This shopping centre has gone through some pretty nice upgrades in recent years. I'm glad to have it nearby. It could still uses some beatification to the exterior facing Mumford street and there's usually pigeon poop around the front entrance. Good selection of stores and food court.
Pretty standard shopping mall with the expected retailers and services. The food court was completely overhauled and offers a lot of variety. I walk up here from work for lunch almost every day.
The Halifax shopping center has really improved a lot over the years. They are clearly making efforts to make the space more modern and aesthetically pleasing, and they're doing pretty well at that. The variety of shops are good and the layout is straightforward enough. My only little complaints are that the wifi is fairly poor quality and that waiting spaces are fairly limited except in the food court. (which is beautiful, albeit a bit messy sonetimes) Overall a fun place to shop and to spend some time.
Small and cozy. It has everything I need.
Clean, good hallway seating, well lit, however generally boring.
If you want to walk around a packed mall with high prices and nothing original while bumping into teenagers on their cell phones, then this is the place for you. The food court is really nice tho, but many of the stores have very little variety. Go to the Source and they constantly try to sign you up to Bell I think it is. I go in there a lot and recently stopped because this was really starting to get on my nerves. I no longer patronize the store specifically because of this spamming. I got asked EVERY...SINGLE...TIME. Please drop this or I'll never spend another dime there, and I am serious about that. They also don't have much of a tech selection unless you are looking for high end tablets. EB Games isn't much better and has basically turned into a toy store(Specifically those stupid bobble head characters) I feel like it only considers pre-teens when getting new stock. It's no wonder that people are shopping online more and more. And in all of those stores they won't even look up from their phones unless you interrupt them.
I go to this mall regularly and its great. The food court has lots of variety. There are many options for cloths shopping. Has pretty much everything you would expect.
Some of the best stores like Hollister, Michael Kors, Apple Store, The Source, and a big Sports Chek/Atmosphere!
Food court has been renovated and is much more friendly. Lots of varied stores. Has an apple store, A+, D for the amount of employees approaching you
No more DQ, so it's not as good as before Cum
It's a nice and big shopping mall. There are lots of brand stores and expensive merchandise, but not many budget friendly things. I don't like options in the food court.
Nice place to shop. Parking is free. There is a security and Police aid post in the building. You may need a while day to shop as it has a lot of shops for your choice. Washrooms are neat and you have family washrooms , which is great help if you have babies using diapers.
The place is extra small, It's the main mall in Nova Scotia and it's still lacking a lot!! The place is super small and for a Canadian Mall, you expect it to have more options to offer. The owners of these mall could use going to Miami and take a glance at the malls there... Just don't expect it to be like an USA mall cuz it won't be like it
Large one stop modern shopping destination in Halifax. Free parking.
One stop solution for all ur needs. Place to decide which luxury brand to pick from
This is a good mall, I like the food court, it has the rarely seen Taco Bell. The mall itself has a bunch of clothing stores and sporting good stores, I think it's just missing a movie theatre so you could lose the whole day visiting. There's also EB games for the occasional game hunt.
I really enjoy shopping centres. There a big place to go with a lot of shops which should make it super easy to get everything u need and go. I feel Halifax shopping center is great for that. It is very large so takes a minute to orient yourself but once you understand what is around it’s a dream. Great shops. Great staff. Great great great
Beautiful well maintained mall. Great experience for shopping. Food Court has excellent variety and is clean...stores are plentiful...nicest indoor shopping complex in the HRM.
Nice mall. Pretty much the main mall for NS. 2 levels, and a small food court with tims, subway, fries, a&w and I think ice cream. Seating was good. Lots of fun stores including Apple, Gap, Sears, etc.
It took them a few years to figure out a good layout and shop placement, but they got there. Easy to navigate, easier to spend money. Just missing a Hot Topic!
Lots of great shops. This mall has everything you could need
Well it's finally more or less fully open now!! Great selection of stores and close to the downtown area. Good place to find interesting things!!
Best mall in Halifax to visit.
The mall is nice and clean, the staff in the stores that I went to are very friendly and curtious, the arrows on the floor are great I just wish that people would actually remember that the arrows are on the floor and actually pay attention to them.
Halifax's main covered shopping mall is of a modest size but is modern and filled with natural light in certain sections. It has most major retailers that anyone would need and has an easygoing vibe. The food court is airy and has ample seating. When its rainy or snowy outside and you can't spend the day by lower water street or the boardwalk, I wouldn't mind hanging out here. Free wifi and parking.
Perhaps the showcase mall in Metro that has a huge selection of shops. Still completing wonderful renovations that keep it modern and inviting with lots of glass and sky lighting. Love the Terrace (eatery) design although all the glass and hard surfaces make the acoustics terrible, very loud.
Everyone was great and wearing the masks on these hard times. Pay attention to the floor stickers follow the arrows please. Stay safe everyone ????
Lots of great stores, some off which don't exist anywhere else East of Montreal. The big renovations they did a couple years ago really improved the place - especially the glass roof area. Really nice spaces.
Very beautiful mall. Lots of great stores. At times I find it really warm though and needs more places to sit.
HSC is getting better but it still needs some upgrades on how the space is used and the quality of the stores. I find it weird that there is a whole side of the store (near Softmoc and etc.) that has no stairs or escalators. It makes it impossible to get there without some weird maneuvering.
Dramatically improved in recent years which has attracted a lot of more upscale stores than before. The food court is also much improved and its basement location means that it is an option for grabbing a fast food meal when passing by. Main attraction is the Apple Store.
I love this mall. So many great stores. So little time. I wish I could just spend all day at the mall.
The recent Reno's have been a nice addition to what was an aged look. The new stores are great with some more popular brands from larger cities. It's been a long time coming. The parking is good, but can get congested. The food court has lots of variety.
After the renovations done with the third floor and food court the place has amazing vibes. Love shopping here with a wide range of stores to choose from and seeing families from a wide range of cultures. The place is in the center of halifax~ the perfect spot. Highly suggest checking out this place ????
Lots of parking spaces available. Stores well stocked and friendly, helpful staff. Definitely a pleasurable experience, even on a busy weekend.
5 stars just because of the Apple store.
The Halifax Shopping Centre (HSC) is a decent mall, however, it's very geared towards clothes shopping. If you need anything else your selection is very limited. The food court downstairs though had excellent selection!
This was the first time we had visited since the beginning of the pandemic and we only visited the Eastlink store.
They’ve made plenty of improvements over the past few years. New food court, lots of new stores. It’s shifting towards a higher end mall slowly but surely.
Great place to shop and find almost anything you would need. Like small grocery items, gifts for a loved one like jewelry, cosmetics, shoes or even a bag. Some back to school items can be sourced here as well. Bathroom 4/5 Good in food court 4/5 Covid safe 3/4 Affordability 3/5
The place is really not made for Halifax Shoppers. It's made for the rich and fabulous as opposed to the real world people that make an average dollar amount.
Bright and airy. Fave mall to shop at year round.
December 19th 2021, the mall was not crowded, most stores had s good amount of stock available. Everyone was wearing masks and hand sanitizer was available in every store for customer use.
Standard fashion mall with good compliment of brand names. Recently well renovated introducing tons of natural light to the complex. Nice food court and ample parking.
Nice mall with lots of shops and stores and nice decoration. Heated on the winter and has free wifi available for all customers. There’s also places where you can get food which is always really important. I like the parking too, there’s always space for your car :) My go-to mall in Halifax.
The largest shopping centre East of Montreal. They had some issues with cleanliness, but that was mainly due to some of the renovations that they were doing. Now that we've seen most of the renovations complete. It is absolutely wonderful. Parking is convenient and shopping does take some time. I highly recommend going to the customer service desk on the main level and getting a cart for your children if you have them. In paragraph. I also recommend if you're going to get something to eat not to go around lunch time. To go either early for lunch or go a little later for lunch. The same thing would apply to dinner. Everybody goes to the food court at lunchtime and the lineups and seating can definitely be quite the challenge.
Great mall, fantastic new look with the recent renovations. The new food court is night and day better than the one it replaced. Many new stores have come in and there's several more to come in the future.
Clean mall, decent parking
lots of variety of clean and modern retail locations
It's a cacophonous entity that specializes in boutique style shops with little left for the more budget minded shopper. It's ok, but if you don't mind paying the maximum price for a given product, then this is your place. It's clean and wide open allowing for physical distancing.
I find the layout a bit confusing. The food court seems to always be chaotic and doesn’t make me want to sit and eat let alone grab a coffee or drink from anywhere.
Shopping center located at convenient location and have lots of shopping options along with renovated pantry.
Pretty meh for a mall, dartmouth mall is much more worth it
Love the food court but hate that DQ have left and would love to get quiznos subs there too
Slowly but surely things are getting back to normal. Many stores are now open a few still closed due to COVID 19. A few sales but prices are not good enough to boost comsumers confidence to spend. Due to economic uncertainty and job losses, consumer spending will remain very conservative so stores have to plan strategically to encourage consumers to buy. Nevertheless, get out, check out the mall, get some lunch and see what's new!
This is the best place for shopping
Staff are great and lots of products for consideration are on display in their showroom!!
Malls are antiquated and tired. I can't like this one.
Nice shopping, important stores inside.
Everytime I visit, it either feels small or big, but it's not a bad thing either. Right in the middle of West End, traffic around the place can be good or bad time depending, and cant wait to see how well the flow of the mall is going to be when they redo the Mumford Terminal in a year or two. Walking across the street to the annex is pretty deadly even getting to the bus terminal. Hope the new terminal makes it feel easier and safer, and will be glad to have a new warm spot to sit in the harsher weather conditions instead of standing where it smells like sewer and urine.
This is the first mall I visit in Canada and I can love to cone back over and over again????
This is the biggest shopping center in Halifax or I can say in Nova Scotia. All major brands available here with some locals too. Have a really nice food court big Parking lot, maintaining social distancing and mask mandatory. Toilets are available and very clean.
Beautiful redone. Love the food court. Clean bathroom.
Not too many people. Stores easy to shop in due to less people allowed in store at one time.
We are still in a pandemic and u wish people would respect the arrows on the floor and follow them. The food court is a joke due to the fact you have the same people day and day out sipping their small Tim Horton coffee for hours. The seat are limited and they should be limited on the time they spend sipping their 99 cents coffee.
Nice atmosphere, cosy and spacious food court, almost all brands I like (CK and DKNY would be nice to see, too????), indoor parking lot.. So far, so good.
They did a lot of work and it shows! The mall is beautiful and clean. I am certainly not their demographic, and only go there for a few stores as a lot of them are high end like Aritiza, Coach, etc.
The food court was beautifully redone a few years ago. There is typical seating as well as more lounge like seating with fireplaces and plush chairs. There is a wide variety of stores and boutiques. It is clean and comfortable and usually not extremely crowded. Most importantly they put in a stunning breastfeeding room that is so comfortable and includes all the amenities you could want including a separate washroom with a little toddler potty.
I love the new look of the mall. The best part for me is the nursing room that is located on the bottom floor in the food court. The mall feels very clean and open . There is outdoor and covered parking.
Well done on the renovation, can park in the back and grab a bite without having to go through the mall. Thai Express, enough said.
Nice shopping mall with good varieties of shops
The renovations make this mall look absolutely beautiful. Honestly if I didn't know any better I would swear it was just built recently. Alot of great stores to choose from. I like how bright and welcoming it is. It's not a huge mall or anything but it's definitely worth a visit.
I understand the idea of trying to upscale the mall so they took out dollar store but I never had any bad experience with customer service and they never cheated me at that store COMPARED to the Philippine Workers of Mezza and Pretzel Maker (new owner) - The Blatant UNETHICAL and DISHONEST Nature of their PHILIPPINE WORKERS when dealing with customers are downgrading the mall too! Their new layout is real nice. Much brighter and much cleaner. More stores. Security are nice and visible
The store has had a major facelift, its very beautiful. I would be remiss to note there are more high end stores$$. There are good places to eat etc. There are good deals, but if your looking for Walmart/Giant Tiger prices your out of luck. I must note even strolling around really puts you in the Xmas Spirit. ????
Great mall. Lots of shops. Big food court
Better than Micmac, no little mall rat punks running around in the food court, all day loitering without making a single purchase.
I eat at the Thai Express here all the time. I think they have the best fried rice with chicken & pineapple compared to other Thai Expresses. Yummy ????
It was great. A lot of people but not too many. I really went to mall walk a bit. Elevators were nice. We did not do all of the mall, there are several levels, we had a bit of a walk around, in a couple of shops then had a nosh in the Food Court. Was a lovely time.
It's ok, could do with more notices on store locations. Good parking, lots of variety in the food hall.
This mall is small compared to other malls but it does have a variety of shops and the selection here is pretty decent. The food court also has lots of options. I like how the mall is located not too far from downtown and Dalhousie.
A great place to shop for Christmas
Was great price on items on clearance
Great customer service at the Source, I got what I needed. Thank you for working during this difficult time! Stay safe!
Too many expensive stores, not like when I was a boy when it had more affordable stores. Food court is nicely designed.
Renovations which are still a work in progress are certainly going a long way to improve the look and function of the mall. Gone is the bowling alley and in its place a large open food court. Many more opened up areas in the mall contribute to a modern and structurally beautiful place to shop.
I really enjoyed the mall, it's always kept clean and the bathrooms are very nice and clean. The selection of stores is also nice too. The food court is great and there is always tons of seating.
The mall has pretty much everything you need. Personally I find that it's slowly turning into a spot for upscale shops. You're never able to find a spot to sit down around the mall because they're always taken by teens who seem to always have a hoodie on and are always looking down at their phone. Sometimes you'll even see them putting their feet up on the benches to take up two spots.
Has a little bit of everything. I'd be a little surprised if they didn't have what you're looking for. Food court was renovated and is pretty nice now with a pretty large selection.
Wonderful place to shop by yourself, with friends, your children or even your parents. I am disappointed that some store spots were vacant. I can not say I go to the mall often and that is probably why there was spots. I know people shop more online now for convenience which put store employees out of a job. It is a viscous circle.
An extremely nice place to shop. Great selection of better quality shops. One complaint, the rest furniture throughout the mall is tattered and takes away from the great decor.
I think this is the largest department store in Halifax. There are shops selling apparels, jewelry, cafe and more. Bright and airy atmosphere.
It's a mall that's conveniently located, and has got nearly everything you need. Everything else you can get at the Walmart or the strip mall across the street.
Very nice shopping complex with lots of free parking. A good visible presence of security helps to allow customers to relax as they shop. The wide variety of stores mean there's something for everyone here.
Can always find what your looking for.
Best Shopping place in Nova Scotia. Everything here. *****
L9ts of great stores here and a new store Torrid, which is awesome
Halifax watch. Took in two watches for batteries. One was replaced, new battery. The other watch battery was good cleaned contacts at n/c it works. Thanks
As far as malls go, this one is fine. It's got stores and hallways and food places, and really, isn't that what you want from a mall? There's no skating rink or anything like that, but I wasn't expecting one so I can't say I'm all that disappointed. I didn't need to use the bathroom while I was there, but I have no reason to believe they were unclean. If you are reading this review with the hopes of finding out about the state of the bathrooms, then I'm sorry to disappoint you- I simply don't know. The mall is well lit, but not so bright that you would need to wear sunglasses inside. You may want to bring them though, depending on what the weather is like outside, as it would be impossible for me to predict that at the time of this writing. All in all, I'd say that if you're looking for a mall, this one is as good as any you're likely to find in the immediate area, but that's just one person's opinion.
Nice shopping centre with good stores
Nice range of stores and easy to get around. Having an Apple store and covered parking are bonuses. The food court is a bit limited for the size of the mall but not a problem. Easy to get to and nice area.
Even with the social distancing I can say my experience at Halifax Shopping center today was very good. My friend and I ate at the courtyard and as always it was very clean.
After the renovations its pretty nice. The new food court is great.
I liked the mall of the old way and I really miss the dollar store that use to be there ,it seems like its and made for the rich to shop there ...I feel uncomfortable going there ,besides the place smells of perfumes which I am allergic too .But I do love the new food court . Good job on that part
Good mall, undergoing some renovation still with quite a few stores still not open yet. Definitely needs a sit down restaurant in there somewhere to take a load off and grab a drink. New renovation is very nice and bright.
Really good selection of shops, good flow of shoppers in these very trying times. Very clean.
Good stores, clean bright wide halls
It's there. Nothing too extravagant but also not boring. I only like four stores and the Terrace. Its definitely one of the favorite malls I been to ever since the late 90s.
This is a great mall, and it has grown alot over the years. Plenty of renovations and new stores and a new food court. Is a great place to shop with lots of options and plenty of character.
Mall is always clean. Not a lot of places that I'd shop at, but it's a mall.
No anchor store since Sears folded. But a decent selection of small chain stores. Food court is organized for social distancing. The markings in the mall reminded me a bit of the Twister game. You can't quite follow the arrows. And I found a lot of great shoppers didn't even try when it was obvious. Lots of good outside and covered parking.
The new HSC is bright and exciting- Drawback? In their modernization, they extensively used hard-edge finishings except for a minimal scattering of seating-way, way, too little- and consequently, the main concourses are echo chambers. Is it planned so that visitors seek refuge inside the stores?
A wide variety or retail outlets and ample parking made holiday shopping easier
Clean, spacious & modern looking. Food court good selection.
Great mall. Good size, clean, nicely updated.
It was really nice shopping mall!! A little too busy for my liking but overall great shopping mall
One of our favorite places to shop when we are in Halifax.
Lots of parking, many safety standards for covid
Could be more COVID rules through out the mall. More hand sanitizers around
I liked it here, but that's me. If you looking for good clothing there are plenty of places for that, most of which for woman's clothing, however still plenty for men as well. Do keep in mind that the clothing can be expensive though. The food court is nice, but if you are looking at Google maps, you won't find it easily. There are three floors technically, except the lowest one is just the food court, which is below Roots. I don't know how busy the shipping center usually is, but it was really busy when I was there because it was the only mall open, the Mic Mac Mall, and many other places were closed due to power outage from the storm (Dorian).
it was not crowded, so it was very easy to social distance
The new renovations to Halifax Shopping Centre are looking great. I'm also really impressed by the Christmas Decorations this Year.
Love the Halifax Shopping Centre. There’s always new stores to explore whenever I go up to Halifax.
Probably the only mall where you can find all the top brands showcasing their best product line and the mall also has a food court in the lower level.
Seems cleaner, nicer, and brighter after the renovation. More space at the food court but it could get crowded since some sitting area are close but it is understandable. Customer service on the first floor are nice. The management needs to talk to Th.Express to give importance to safety food handling esp.to their staff the other day 22nd.
First trip there since Covid-19, shut down the world. 90% of people wore masks, all stores had hand sanitizer, store staff wore masks. Limited number of people allowed in stores. Some bargains. Just happy to return to some sense of normalcy.
Busy even in off seasons. Most people here are kind but you get an occasional rude employee. The employees in the cafeteria however, are very kind and respectful, despite sometimes being treated poorly by others as I have seen.
Great place to go for a wide variety of shopping. Multiple clothing options including sport equipment, as well as electronics and a food court to satisfy any craving. Be sure to give Shanghai fast food a try!
Lots of clear marking on the floor and most stores explain everything to you when you come in. Always see people cleaning in the food court. Mall security is sometimes directing people when they are going the wrong way as well
This mall has improved so much over the years. Really impressed with it and we go there a lot.
Awsome place for your leisure time.
Best place in Halifax for shop. Also have all major stores.
Kind of a winter getaway. Place is quiet dirty and shops are just the same all around the world. Free parking but too small for pick-up trucks or large suv.
What have they done to this mall??? What’s with the massive extremely expensive renovation. The malls layout is worse than it was. We now try to avoid shopping here. The money spent on the mall should have been put into parking. Add more levels and widen the spaces. Of you’re not driving a smart car it’s a nightmare.
Why are all your ads geared towards women? Do you not encourage men to shop? The "music" or noise that accompanies your non Christmas ad needs to have a diction lesson. I haven't shopped at HSC for quite a while and nothing in your TV commercials entices me to do so. G
They are trying to get better over time but food is... lacking. They have some really quality security individuals actually. Shopping might be better in Dartmouth though. Oh well, nice to have close by.
I have always loved this mall. Its always clean and inviting. The only problem I have is there are no shopping carts, and I'm unable to walk very far.
They've recently renovated and the change is amazing. I did enjoy the smaller businesses that were there previously and presumably were pushed out by the flashier big chain stores. The new layout is much nicer now.
really good mall with good selection of stores and large hallways makes it very easy to get around even during busy times.
Great place for shopping and to hang out with friends. Do try Habanero Modern Taco Bar.
As time goes on and they "renovate" the more homogenized it becomes. Most of the stores look the same and offer the exact same service. Definitely moving towards a certain clientele which I am not. The new food court is pretty nice and has some different options than what one usually gets.
This mall has really become one that has quite a lot of stores with great products and value. I was able to get some great Sorel boots at Soft Moc for cheaper than online and the Gap always seems to have great sales cheaper than the ticket price. It is a mall that is pleasant to walk around and also have a tea or coffee with a variety of places from which to choose.
Went to the post office at the drug store , normally would not have much positive to say , but people behind the counter did a great job of trying to help me.. tks
It's ok. IF you're looking for shoes or clothes best spot for stores galore
One word: huge. But amazing too. You can almost all the clothing items you want there. Let's not forget that you can also get food when you get hungry from all the walking and shopping
Clothes and more clothes, would like to see more Hobbie spaces but it is what it is
Awesome ???? great customer service and friendly staff.
Pretty nice mall with an okay amount of stores in it.
Too many high end stores. Lawtons... Koodo, foodcourt very nice, bath and body works. Hardly ever go there even though it is closer to me thsn Scotia Square. Not a fan of Halifax Shopping Centre at all.
