Yesterday my bridesmaids & I went to David’s bridal to try & possibly buy the bridesmaid dresses for my wedding this fall. Kaleigh was our consultant & she was by far the best one I’ve had at your store. She was patient, & helpful while we tried the huge list of dresses I had picked! She was so kind & funny during our appointment. I highly recommend her & our experience was so great! We love the dresses we picked❤️

I was bridesmaids dress shopping with my sister in law who is the bride. She was super excited and had the vision of a say yes to the dress experience. It did not happen. The person that was assigned to us was never anywhere to be found when we need assistance in the dressing room and it was utter chaos. There were so many people and dresses throw everywhere. We somehow ended with up with another sales person who was very pushy. I wasn't really finding anything that I was in love with so I told him I didn't want to commit and I wanted to check out a few more shops as this was our first place and he said "Well you won't have enough time to find a dress with a wedding in 8 months and there's nothing they had that the other shops didnt". I had enough and left as quick as I could get my clothes on. Who says that?? Went Karma bridal and had an excellent experience. Service was amazing and I found the perfect dress in 15 minutes. Some advice check out the smaller bridal shops before going here. Your experience will be 10 times better.

I had booked an appointment a week or so in advance as I would have been flying into the Halifax area. Upon arrival, we were greeted by my stylist, Sophie. I cannot say enough about Sophie, she was great and a real pleasure to deal with! I had no idea of what I was looking for, not the shape, material, etc. Sophie listened to what I didn’t want and went from there. 4 dresses in and we had a winner! I was even lucky enough to buy it right off the rack in a real “Start The Car” moment as the price was a steal! I had hoped to find my dress that day but fully expected that I would need to order it and go from there but with such a great deal on the spot, Sophie also assisted me with shoes, actually a couple of pairs, earrings and a headband. My entourage that day consisted of 4 of my dear friends and we even picked out the bridesmaids dresses. The ladies were able to try them on so we could see the fit/style on different body types and the color is great for all. One of my friends also purchased her shoes to wear at her upcoming wedding this summer and her sister also found a beautiful pair at another great price. Our stylist Erica was beyond amazing ! We were there for a bridesmaid dress appointment and she managed to also squeeze in a bridal appointment for myself. She absolutely went above and beyond what she needed to. Great service !

Honestly I was pretty disappointed. When I went to go purchase my dress everything was fine not the best experience but not the worst… However when I went to get my dress fitted the dress boning was sitting on my hips which wasn’t happening when I try the dress on a few months earlier. When I asked if they could do anything about it the alterations personnel said no and I asked her to put a bunch of rolled up fabric at least on the end so it wouldn’t stab me for the six hours I was likely going to be in the dress if not longer. When I went back to pick up my dress they did not complete the padding however the different alterations personnel said we could cut the boning. I was a little bit frustrated as I wasn’t sure why the first appointment this was not brought up. finally when I went to go pick up my dress after the second alterations I waited 45 minutes because they had trimmed the front boning but not the back when there was nothing wrong with the front boning but the back bonding was set to be trimmed. we waited so long for the initial appointment to find out that they had trimmed the wrong boning that I’m pretty sure they had done it while we were sitting there. Not a bad place to get a dress selected would not recommend for alterations.

A great experience! I was very nervous going to my first bridal dress shopping being plus size, worried nothing would fit. They had plenty of size options and very helpful helping you into dresses and finding options based on preferences. Left feeling very happy and confident! I was looking for a Maid of Honour dress, so I didn't have an appointment. Thankfully my sister was with me because she found every dress I tried on and found the one I ended up buying. There was no one from the front of the store, no associate, or consultant who helped, or even came to see if I needed help carrying the dresses, with the help of my sister that hauled the dresses around until I found someone and asked for a dressing room. Again my sister helped me with every dress, even going to ask for clips for the back of the dresses. Everything changed when I asked for Laura from alterations she was attentive, helpful and more importantly PRESENT when I needed her; she understood what I wanted with the dress. She's kind, supportive, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. I did get my maid of Honour dress, but my thanks and appreciation goes to the seamstress Laura and Alterations. They were the ones who made my experience at David's Bridal a good and memorable one. THANK YOU LAURA, AND THE ALTERATIONS DEPARTMENT???? The Stars are for Alterations and Laura.

I went into my appointment with the idea that they would have nothing that fit my vision (especially after attending several bridal shows). I found a few dresses I wanted to try on and, after explaining my vision to my stylist Sophie, went to the dressing room to get started. It became very clear to me that she listened to what I was looking for in a dress as the first one she put me was perfect. I cried, my mom cried, my sister cried. I still tried on a couple others but we all kept thinking about that first dress. She was very excited when I wanted to try it on a second time. Sophie was incredible at helping complete my vision by finding the perfect veil and helping maneuver the dress to showcase some possible alterations. She was absolutely incredible despite that fact that I had told her I had no intentions of leaving with a dress. She wrote down the information of everything I tried on and even gave me a mini calendar so I could see when my dress would be coming, in relation to my wedding date (less than four months away!). I went back less than 24 hours later and purchased the ensemble she had set for me. I highly recommend her!

I had an incredible experience with David’s Bridal this past Saturday. It was an exciting day spent with Friends and family choosing “the dress”‘of your lifetime. Adrianna (Adi) was an incredible consultant that was knowledgeable, and understood the style and price points I was interested in. She made me feel very comfortable (and beautiful) and ensured she checked in with me privately in the dressing room as many voices and opinions can be overwhelming but she listened to me first and that was important. The short version: I had an absolutely wonderful experience at David's Bridal in Dartmouth Crossing. I highly recommend giving them a whirl if you are looking for attire for a special event, soiree or wedding event. The long version: The employees that I met with were kind, friendly, courteous, approachable and professional. Those I met with were not only knowledgeable but helpful, and they exemplified the most important rule of sales... Be excited! The key to making a sale is when the transfer of enthusiasm about what you are selling passes from you to the client/prospective buyer, and that definitely took place for me. The employees all seemed genuinely happy to be working there, to enjoy their work, and it showed in their deportment. If you've ever seen an episode of TLC's "Say yes to the dress" (without all the crazy drama), my experience was quite similar. When I arrived for my appointment, I was met with excited staff members eager to help my find "The Dress". After signing in (for COVID protocols), I met with my own personal dress assistant, Liza. She very kindly asked some great questions to start with to best determine my needs. She asked what type of dress I was looking for (or if I knew yet) and if it was my first time shopping for the dress. She then went to set up my dressing room, pulling a couple of pieces on the way and asked if I wouldn't mind browsing for a bit while she did. She very kindly set up a room for me that was large enough that I could bring my 3-year-old daughter and soon to be MIL in with me. This was a great help, as my daughter can be quite the handful when she can't see me, and my soon to be MIL helped watch her while I tried on the dresses. After trying on each of the dresses, she asked if she could see me in them to see how they fit. She then helped me see the areas where the dresses could be altered, so they highlighted my figure in a more flattering way. It immediately showed her knowledge of not only the dresses themselves but of women's figures and shapes. After we found " The Dress", she was able to help us set up an alterations consultation appointment immediately afterwards. After the consultation, we were offered a few different options for the time frame in which we could get it altered (mine was a rush order in 1 week, the average was 2 to 4 weeks) and then set up a final fitting appointment. Overall, I had a lovely time, and it was a fantastic experience. I was thrilled with not only my dress but the care the staff took with me and their overall professionalism. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is in need of formal wear for any occasion, not just for getting married as the name would suggest.

My experience at David's Bridal was amazing! The first time I went in they were so polite and they gave me a stylist to help find dresses to try on. I went on a slow weekday so many of the staff came over to look and commented on what they liked and gave helpful input, even agreeing when something didn't work for me. It was so much fun and I didn't feel awkward when telling them something I didn't like, cause they know not every feature is for everyone. I did find a dress that I loved and the manager, Angela, actually came over and started helping me too. And when I came in for a second time, the manager remembered me and started helping me again! She showed real interest and excitement for me in finding the right dress! The staff is so professional, patient and polite, and the dresses there come in all shapes, sizes and prices. I went to a few bridal stores in the area, but David's Bridal is the only one that makes it feel like a special experience. Definitely recommend to all future brides! And the dress I found I feel absolutely fantastic in! Everyone said I looked like a princess and I cant wait to wear it on my wedding day!

The staff here are tactful and helpful. They do not make rude statements and their body language is open. I came in to choose a bridesmaid dress from a selection that the bride had previously chosen for her party. The lady, Amina (?), that was selected to help me, was straight forward with the process, explaining which dresses would be available for me to try on that day, and the consequences of waiting for more to come in as far as the timeline for ordering and tailoring is concerned. In the end, I was able to make a choice that makes me feel confident, well within the timeline, and with the support of Amina. There were little touches to our consultation that made me feel like a true client rather than another dollar. For example, we discussed adding a belt to the dress after the wedding so that it could be worn at other events. During another walk through of the store to check a dress skirt, Amina organically pointed out the belts she was mentioning earlier. It is very clear that they enjoy the process of choosing the right dress and genuinely want their clients to be confident when they leave.

I was the lucky winner of a contest that David's Bridal had put on their website and won a $1200 shopping spree or my wedding dress which I already had. Upon arriving at the Dartmouth location I felt quite overwhelmed but Laura made the experience very enjoyable. I had two appointments with Kim. She was wonderful, very knowledgeable, and good at pulling dresses both in my budget and that I would like. The store's dresses are reasonably priced. It was very quiet on the days I went (mid-day Wednesday) which was nice, though I heard for the staff it gets much busier on the weekend. Definitely a place (and Kim specifically as a consultant) to add to your list of stores for wedding dress shopping.

They found me the perfect dress, no alternations needed, and turned a stressful situation into an enjoyable experience. All of the staff were delightful, but most especially Melissa. A couple of friends and I went into David's bridal on short notice recently and they were so welcoming there! This was my first bridal experience and they were kind and didn't overwhelm me, yet still addressed me when talking to us even though my friends definitely knew more about what we were looking for than I did. Our consultant was Adrienne and she was amazing! The absolute sweetest and had fun with us and made us feel so comfortable. I've dipped my toes in other shops to check out different selections and I wish I could take Adrienne with me to all of them! I didn't try too much of the David's Bridal selection since it was last minute and my first time but the dresses I did try were beautiful and reasonably priced!

She had already pulled dresses from my favourites list before we arrived and picked out a few of her own for extra ideas. They were also very respectful about my budget. I called to ask if it was alright if my family and I were able to come in and peruse and try on dresses without assistance. I was instructed that we needed someone to assist us and was told that we’d have to make an appointment. That was fine. When we got there, our salesgirl was LOVELY, very sweet and very personable. She did her best to help us with everything we needed. However, to no fault of her own, she was overbooked and we pretty much handled our appointment on our own. Our experience has we solely based it on our salesgirl would have been a 5/5 but because we found ourselves idle and waiting for extended periods of time, the overall experience was only a 3/5.

I'm a plus size bride at the larger end of the possible sizes available here. My first visit I told the consultant that I wanted a tighter fitting dress and she kept bringing me dresses that were 4-5 sizes too small and when they didn't fit she said that's why a tighter dress won't work for me and I should try looser dresses. She then proceeded to only bring me empire waist chiffon dresses which I hated. I left that appointment feeling so frustrated, dejected, fat and like my dream dress is impossible. After trying many other local bridal stores I finally let a friend talk me into trying David's again and I'm so happy I did! My second visit I got Julie and she was AMAZING. Julie totally understood what I was looking for the the struggle of finding a dress that you can visualize ad try on. She didn't just bring me dresses but she helped me go through the racks and pick dresses there were my right size and made helpful comments about things that could be done to adjust or make things fit. By the end of my appointment with Julie I was able to have the perfect idea of what dress I wanted, we just ran out of time while trying to find it. I went home and using the information I got from Julie I was able to go through the website and perfectly pinpoint the perfect dress for me. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get another appointment with Julie but the consultant I did get was able to bring me the dress I had picked, tried it on and it was perfect! David's can be great as they have a large selection of dresses, but most of their sample sizes only go to a 20 / 22. If you're looking for a 24/26 options that you can actually try on will be limited. As well really try to get a good consultant. Out of 3 appointments I had 1 amazing one (Julie), one meh (Joanne - she wasn't horrible, just not quite right) and one that left me feeling like I never wanted to go back (Debbie).

Had the BEST experience at David's Bridal today. I would give it 10 stars if I could (specifically the stylist who worked with me, Aly, she was absolutely amazing)! I went to buy a bridal dress with my mom, and was dreading trying on a bunch of dresses and how it might make me feel (I was imagining it as jeans shopping on steroids). I was really nervous when I came in, but Aly put me at ease right away, and was so sweet and respectful. I can't say enough wonderful things about her! The rest of the staff were excellent too (right down to one of them hanging a bridesmaid dress in my chosen colour on herself and standing next to me in the mirror, to show me what it would like with the dress!), but Aly stood out as a shining star. She was respectful in the change room, asked permission every step of the way (before tucking parts in, for example), and made sure I was comfortable all along. Not only did she listen to my dress preferences, but she was actually the one who found my dress for me! I had picked out a few others, which I liked, but weren't "the" dress. She got inspired grabbed a particular one, and that was it! She made this experience so amazing, and I am so grateful for her. Aly, you rock!

I didn't feel un-pretty, even when a dress wasn't the one or didn't fit. From start to finish our experience with David's Bridal in Dartmouth was aweful. When we arrived for our booked appointment (1030 opening time) we were left to look around the store on our own with no indication of how the bridesmaid gowns were organized or what sizes would be available to try on. When our "Consultant" Melissa finally made her way to us after 3 overhead announcements; she did not explain how anything worked and took the dresses from our hands to set up changing rooms. The next time we saw her was 15 minutes later while we still browsed dresses, unable to find proper sizing. She escorted us to dressing rooms and said she would find our sizes.. which she did not do and after asking her 3 times we went back out the the racks to find them ourselves. The consultant made many remarks on our size including "even if you lost 15 pounds your waist won't be smaller" "You measure at a 26.. there is NO was you will wear a 22" (which the bridesmaid was wearing at the time). "I'm a petite little thing" and "I don't like that dress on you at all". We were obviously disgusted by these comments. When we finally pick out some dresses although not completely satisfied we went to the cash where a different lady rung us up, she was also not very friendly and did not know the answer to any of our questions. To say the least we left unhappy and feeling bad about ourselves on a day that we wanted to be fun and exciting.. David's Bridal ruined bridesmaid shopping for this party of 4.

The consultant, albeit sweet and very nice, was double booked and so I didn't even get the one on one time that I was expecting. I didn't feel that the staff was overly knowledgable about the dresses or how to pin them. There was no pedestal to stand on and it was extremely crowded. Overall, I went be going back there, and I wish I had chosen somewhere else as my first time.

Not pleased with how my appointment went AT ALL. The lady at the front desk was great, showed us where the dresses were located, which ones could not be ordered and said most could be ordered in a certain color (as I was looking for cinnamon and satin) we were early so she explained somebody would be by to take my bridesmaids measurements and help us out. But then it goes downhill. I am currently looking at a photo I have from their website that has the dresses I want. Prices and all. A male employee started assisting us but told me their pictures change all the time on the website and that the dresses MIGHT be in the store sperately. We looked all over the SMALL selection of dresses we were directed to see by him, and he seemed pretty annoyed to even have to do that. Only 2 of my bridesmaids picked a dress each that they thought they might like to try on and I know that not everyone is going to find their dress right away but 2 dresses does not seem that hard to deal with. No measurementswere taken, no direction was given when he took the dresses. We stood there feeling stupid not knowing what to Do. FINALLY one of my bridesmaids asked "is this changing room mine?" He said yes. She said "but is it going to fit me?" His response was rude and his reply was "well I grabbed a 10 so??" She was disappointed as no measurements were taken for EITHER of my bridesmaids. The 2nd bridesmaid walked out Ina. Swimming pool of a dress. Nobody to pin it or tell her anything good. The consultants were just gone. They took the dresses off, unsure of what to do with them because again, nobody was there. As we were leaving a woman working there decided to help my 3rd bridesmaid find a dress that matched what we were looking for and she was helpful but by then we had already made an appointment at a different bridal store because this one was just horrible. this is supposed to be fun, and your one particular employee and the unprofessionalism of this place has ruined that for us today. I will not be returning back, this is not my first bad experience with you guys.

It was a super busy Sunday but the store in Dartmouth NS still accommodated to us perfectly! They gave us enough space but also were right there if we needed anything. I took my step daughter in for a flower girl dress and they made her feel as special as a bride! I believe it was the manager, I didn’t catch his name, even gave her little heals to wear while she tried on her 5 dress picks. Mariah was our consultant and she did great at juggling her two appointments she had on the go. We also got to take the dress home rather than order it in as the wedding is sooner than later. I am so thankful I went with a friend for her to find her wedding dress before I went to get mine. This is the last place I will go for a dress. My friend booked an appointment online and they didn’t have it on file. The customer service was poor at best. The consultant was nice but she had to help 2 brides at once. After my friend paid for her dress and alterations they charged her an extra $40 for labour (to put the sleeves she bought on) and tried to charge her a $50 rush charge because her wedding was “too soon”. She bought the dress in June and the wedding is in September. They knew her date when she purchased. She fought the rush charge and they didn’t end up charging her but I see this as taking advantage of people since she had already purchased the dress. May the odds be ever in your favour if you decide to buy your dress here.

Once inside we used hand sanitizer that was provided and Laura came out (with a face shield on) to escort us into the back room to do the alterations. She was amazing! Every experience I've had at David's Dartmouth crossing has been great. Most recently, after purchasing my dress there a few months ago, I had an appointment for alterations and cancelled because I heard they were expensive, could be closing soon, bad results, etc. However, after trying another local tailor and having a very bad experience (to the point I was in tears thinking about leaving my dress there.. so I didn't), I had a really great experience with Laura today! She was so friendly, the fitting room was large and private for just her and I, and she was very knowledgeable in her recommendations. And, while she made great observations about what could be done with the dress, she didn't force me into anything I wasn't comfortable with. Overall, the staff was very helpful and friendly as well!

The staff was knowledgable and helpful. All bridesmaids are wearing different dresses and the staff was able to recommend coordinating dresses that suited our individual tastes. Our bride is very flexible! The store was clean and easily allowed for social distancing with other customers. Appointments were easy to book online and staff follow up with a phone call to review safety measures within the store. Hand sanitizer was available at key points throughout the store! A fun, positive, and relatively normal experience in uncertain times. After 2 visits and exploring other shops we all ordered our dresses from David's Bridal. We are waiting to hear about possible matching masks! Fingers crossed they become available in our colour as we get closer to the fall season.

She had beautiful red hair. So sweet and so welcoming. Erica was our consultant and she was fantastic! She made my daughter feel so special and allowed Janelle to take all the time she needed to explore all the dresses of interest. Janelle never felt rushed or pressured during the appointment. Erica is very good at making people feel comfortable. She offered great advice and suggestions while Janelle was making one of the biggest decisions of her wedding day! Scott - the manager, was top notch as well. He would pass by and make a sweet comment and spoke to Janelle as if they were old friends! He too was terrific and so helpful. She was incredible & I am forever grateful - without her, I wouldn’t have my dream wedding dress! As well, all of the stylists and employees were wearing masks, and were attentive in making sure I kept mine on after changing, and their cleaning protocols made me feel much safer! My only note would be they allowed a very large party of people when the rule was explained to me that I could only have 3 people brought with me, and none of them wore masks.

I made an appointment here and my family came up (3 hours away). I was expecting a lot from them since I've heard so many good things. I would say your experience would possibly be better if you weren't a plus size bride. I was not treated well at all. The girl that was helping me with my dresses wasn't really helping at all. She seemed uninterested and had very little input/advice for dresses. There were actually only 6 dresses I could try on (size 18) because their plus size section was so limited. She suggested I just buy online... I would not go here if you are a plus size bride.

I went in with three friends and my mum without really knowing what would look good for my shape. The lady who helped me was enthusiastic and definitely knew her stuff. She warned me when prices on dresses were a bit higher than my budget and found me accessories to go with my dress. The selection of different styles and colours is impressive. I didn't think I'd find a dress like the ones I'd been looking at, but it's pretty gosh darn close! Highly recommended! My first experience at David's was fantastic, that's why this review is so conflicted. Unfortunately, my second visit for my alterations was not great. The woman helping me had no input about length (I'm doing a fast-paced dance and I was concerned about tripping) until I dragged it out of her, where she just agreed with me and she spent the majority of the time staring blankly at me as I talked without offering any kind of feedback or suggestions about what to do. I had to ask what a few different things she said meant (which is fine, but I feel like there is a lot of jargon that people who haven't been married or involved in fancy productions wouldn't know and that should be something she took into consideration considering how expensive each thing will cost). They had me try on a couple of different slips with crinoline on their bottoms, and when trying to take them off, she had me try to pull my dress down over them, which was utterly ridiculous. It took a couple of minutes of me struggling to get the dress down around it before she said she'd help me pull the dress over my head. All around not a great experience and I hope I have a different person helping me at my next appointment. Went for my second alterations appointment and the lady I worked with was much better this time around. She was very attentive, aware of what I should be doing, and willing to give me concrete answers about what I should and shouldn't do. Significant improvement over my previous appointment!

But with the help of my consultant, Mandy, I ended up finding the most beautiful dress! She catered to everything I asked, but also handled all the thoughts, advise, and demands of the people I brought with me. In the end we accomplished what we set out to do, which was find bridesmaid's dresses. The experience was fine, but found it to be overbooked/understaffed. Our assistant was very busy and it did not feel like we had her full attention during our appointment. Everyone was polite and the dress was on sale, so that was a bonus. I'd come back here again if I needed a dress, but I'd likely select a different day than Saturday.

My first stop in was just a quick look and Kelsey was a huge help! It was like she read my mind about what styles I was looking for and showed me a new dress style that I ended up choosing as my Maid of Honour dress! All the staff there are so friendly and nice--it's a very welcoming atmosphere. At my fitting, Kaleigh was fantastic as well--she found some great options that I hadn't seen before and was both there when needed but not too hovering, which I loved! She was also encouraging/patient while we organized a video chat with the bride-to-be to help make the final pick! I really enjoyed both visits there and will absolutely come back for future bridesmaid dress and wedding dress shopping!!

After a very upsetting issue with the custom outfit I had made, I had only 6 weeks left to find something else to wear and I wasn’t feeling very optimistic. I have unconventional taste and so I didn’t think I would find anything for me at a traditional bridal shop. My friend said we should just try David’s Bridal for the sake of it. We booked an appointment for a Friday night and when I arrived, I saw one dress I really loved in their showroom. Unfortunately, my size wasn’t in stock, so the salesperson suggested I look for some other styles. I found nothing that suited me. Luckily, I was paired with a new salesperson, Scott, when another appointment came in and he was very confident he could find something for me. He got a feel for what I was looking for, pulled a few very different styles, and we narrowed down what I’d be happy with. Nothing was going to hold a candle to that one dress though. He checked their other stores and luckily, there was one available in another province. We made the arrangements to have it shipped here and to my surprise, it arrived on the following Tuesday. I was finally able to try on the dress and it was perfect! I was very relieved and so happy Scott was able to pull that together for me, I really don’t know what I would have done if I hadn’t been able to get that dress. His customer service was fantastic. He really listened to me and made the experience comfortable for someone who did not want to be the typical princess for a day. I can’t thank him enough.

The employees appear overwhelmed with helping bridal parties. I spent most of the time fetching dresses for bridal party members because they were so busy helping other people they couldn’t give us their full attention. Limited space- party of 7 given two chairs to sit on and two change rooms. It would be nice for the experience to of felt more special. Happy I did not purchase my wedding dress here.

I had a great stylist named Jade! She was extremely helpful and was able to guide me through the different dress styles and elements I like. It was difficult to see the silhouette of some of the dresses since the sizes on hand were all quite large; however, Jade did her best to fit the dress so I could get a good idea of how it would fit on my body type. She also did a great job of discussing my alterations options and little ways I could tweek the dresses to have the elements I like.

My experience at David’s bridal was very discouraging. We were paired with a consultant and almost immediately were switched and switched back between consultants. They informed us that another bride and the other consultant had a conflict of interest for some reason and they had to switch. I didn’t mind the switch but could have done without the explanation. We selected some options and told her what I was looking for and she completely dismissed what I had told her. She did bring my selected dresses to the dressing room but when I went into the fitting room she put the dresses I selected back (my bridal party who came with me told me what had happened after the fact). She pulled various options that were the complete opposite from what I told her I wanted eg: I told her I didn’t want a train, she brought the longest trains. I wanted lace, she brought all options without lace. We had a 2 hr appt booked. We walked out 45mins into it.

The seamstress was very nice and as helpful as I think she could be. However Not having any beige options was incredibly inconvenient. I was sent to get a beige bra from the bay, which had none like the white one I chose at david's. I wanted my dress lined, but wasn't told I needed at least 12 weeks for that alteration until my appointment, a month from my wedding.

I went to davids bridal to try on bridesmaid dresses with a bridal party. The lady helping, Kelsie made my experience extremely discouraging that we did not want to buy our dresses to give her our commission. Her demeanour the entire experience was negative and unwelcoming. When we began to try on dresses she audibly said I was a size 20-22 in front of the store (I am no where near this size). We were trying to decide on shades for some time until it took the male employee to overhear and finally pull out swatches. He was extremely friendly and positive. I would simply hold a dress while waiting to show the Bride and Kelsie asked me to put the dress back so I wouldn’t ruin it. I had the dress lightly draped over my arm, as everyone else did. When I finally found a dress i felt comfortable in and asked for a different size, she yelled my size from across the store while carrying it. I am not ashamed of my dress size but would hate for this to happen to someone struggling with body image. When I was looking through the store, I pulled a dress out and she took it right from my hands and said it wasn’t my size. I asked if she could take measurements so I could buy the perfect size for me and she completely shut me down and instead told me to try on a different dress that I could alter once it arrives. She made a scene saying she was going into my room to “tidy up” even though I said all the dresses were hung up nicely. She had no reason to go in there but still did and tidied up nothing. Her tone was never friendly towards us. I left embarrassed and confused and don’t want anyone going through the same thing.

I could tell she wanted to make this experience special for me. I spoke with a few other staff members and they were also very helpful and all around really nice people. Everyone I have dealt with through the course of our wedding at David’s Bridal has been wonderful to deal with! I have gone into the Dartmouth, NS location many times over the last 8 months and was treated superb every time. Their selection is vast, the prices are reasonable for the dresses and the quality was fantastic. The best part of my experience has to be the alterations department. I am an odd shaped woman. I am short, and much smaller on my upper body than my lower body. The gals in the alterations department took my dress ( which I ordered in store) and took it in up top, let it out on the bottom and did all kinds of tricks, and in the end- I was over the moon happy with the results! Loved working with this store- I highly recommend them!!

Please read to end!!! Me and my bridesmaids where in recently for an appointment for bridesmaids dress. Our first appointment was terrible and left very frustrated, we felt rushed from the very beginning, our consultant didn’t introduce her self, she didn’t ask us our names. She wasn’t very helpful or knowledge able. i was clipping the girls in to the dresses my self. She just stood there and watched. She wanted my plus size bridesmaids to try on size 8 dresses. We some how found a dress in this one collection that we liked but not in love with it, but we kept saying we really like the colour of this dress and some of the features, but we couldn't find anything similar to it till the very end of the appointment we found the entire collection of them. we were very frustrated that we weren't shown these dresses at first. one of my bridesmaids is from Newfoundland, and flew done for the dress shopping specifically. we were very lucky they had an appointment the following day. From the very beginning when we met Aly our experience at Davids bridal was completely different. She introduced her self as well as asked us all our names. she took measurements before any of the girls tried on dresses, so all the girls got to try on dresses they may not have fit perfectly but at least they could go on. after every dress that was tried on she asked what we liked and disliked about it and gave us suggestions on which dress they should try on next. She made our experience at Davids bridal so much better! my bridesmaids found a dress that they all love, and where so happy when they left. we couldn't thank Aly enough. we were so grateful for the amazing experience she gave us as well as all the help she provided us.

I had went to another Bridal place in the area and had a terrible experience. I was hesitant to try another, however from the moment I walked in I was treated with respect, they catered to every need. They were helpful and had so much to choose from. I ended up with an amazing Vera Wang dress for under 100 dollars. They had lots of brides maid dresses and at every price range. There is definitely something for everyone. I would totally recommend them to any bride if she is looking for a stress free experience. They are amazing!!!!

Although I didn’t end up saying yes to the dress, I was close and will definitely be going back! I would have loved to give them my business and look forward to giving them some in alternative ways (bridesmaids, mothers, veil, accessories). You never feel pressured and even in the height of Covid, I never felt rushed or pushed in anyways. Just a very positive experience. Especially, in comparison to my first bridal shop experience at a local shop out of town.

I won't lie, I came into this shop expecting rude staff and uncomfortable staring. (That's become my usual experience in bridal shops) but I was pleasantly surprised. Most of the staff were really polite and helpful. I was there with a friend picking out a slip, but I will highly consider David's for my dress when the time comes. A lot of places judge too quickly on appearance. I appreciate being treated as an equal to the other customers.

They have a huge selection of dresses for bridesmaids and wedding gowns however I was not impressed with the fact that they told us there would be a six month wait for our dresses and we had to order right away. We did but would have preferred to wait for holiday sales if possible. They assured us if we waited we would not get them in time. Turns out our dresses all are arriving about a month away from ordering and we could have waited to place our orders. Their time estimates for dress ordering doesn’t make any sense and they will pressure you to order when it might not be necessary.

Wonderful experience, wonderful staff, and a wonderful dress! This was the first - and only - place I ended up going for my wedding dress. I was a little nervous going in as I always wanted a full skirt, but I am very short and I was worried the dress would swallow me. Megan was my consultant and she was beyond wonderful!! Extremely helpful, pulled dresses based off of the first one I picked and liked as well as my photo samples. She helped determine the waistline that complimented my body and made me look my best. I left my appointment with the full, beautiful skirt I wanted and the perfect dress for my day. She found me exactly what I wanted in the price range that I wanted, and I could not be happier. The entire staff along with Megan were extremely welcoming and made me feel super special during my appointment! My only regret is having to leave the store and take it off! With her fashion knowledge and styling advice she recommended styles that would look good on my body type. I gained weight and was self conscious, but she made me feel totally at ease. In the dressing room she was very patient with me and quick to grab suggestions. She found the perfect dress and accessories. I also loved the shoes she picked for me. She was too busy helping the other bride to be who had an entourage of about 15 people. I did find my dream dress and then the Bell ringing experience was over powered by the other brides entourage talking so loudly. Made an appointment for my mother who is celebrating her 50th wedding anniversary. We wanted to get her a beautiful dress. She received zero service or attention. It was sad really. She was very excited. We picked out 7 dresses. I myself got her in and out of them in the dirtiest dressing room. Not even a stool to put your clothes on. The dresses themselves were tatty and snagged. When we found the one she loved we were told it was on sale and that was the only one. No offer to check online or anything. Not even an offer of alterations. What should have been a fun experience for my 75 year old mother, was instead chaotic, and stressful. My sister and I would have likely purchased our dresses there for the event but that turned us right off. David's Bridal is basically the Walmart of bridal wear.

I looked through all the wedding dresses in DB website literally thousand times to order one through the online and I’m so glad I ended up going to the store and tried them. It’s so different what you think and expect when you actually put it on. My stylist was Alicia who was so kind to me and my friend and made us very comfortable. I picked some dresses that I wanted to try and I also asked Alicia for her recommendations as well. I finally got the dress that Alicia recommended and I love it. The dress is so beautiful even less than my budget plan. If you are hesitating like I was to go to the store, I strongly recommend It’s so much easier and better to find your perfect wedding dress with expert’s advices.

Mandy took time to walk the store with me and see my vision of a dress to make me comfortable as a MOH for my best friends wedding . I would say I tried on about 15 dresses and she was just as happy zipping me up in my last as she was my first and even a few double times of trying on ! I would recommend 100% . As a size 20/22 I was a bit nervous they wouldn’t have much selection however that was not the case .Plus sizing is not an issue they are truly the most accommodating . Thankfully the staff was beyond amazing last night. That said, shame on my previous 3 visits when no one thought to tell me we needed 16 weeks lead time for our bridesmaid dresses! Here we are 8 weeks before the wedding and impossible to get the dresses we wanted. With the help of very accommodating staff we ended up with cocktail dresses that are not the colour we wanted or the style. Thankfully the staff on July 7th had it together, and shame on my previous 3 visits!

My daughters have bought semi dresses & a prom dress from David’s Bridal, in Dartmouth. Every time, the staff went above and beyond. My daughter, needed her prom dress altered in August. She had bought it in late February, but due to Covid she wasn’t able to have it fitted. Fast forward to August, her school was able to have an outdoor prom. They had 2 weeks notice. The alterations team, were amazing!! They were professional & very friendly. It was short notice, but the staff were more than happy to help.

I would definitely recommend this bridal salon to anyone looking for a beautiful and reasonably priced wedding gown.

The service I experienced was awful. The woman "helping" me told me I was too picky and that designers don't care what I want. She told my friends to hold their jackets because they needed seats for other customers, we were the first appointment of the day and there were literally 15 other available seats. While I was changing into dresses she was telling my friends how picky I was, saying I clearly wasn't going to be happy with any of the dresses. For someone who works in the bridal industry, you'd think you'd be approachable and warm. It made the overall experience uncomfortable instead of fun. I went to several other bridal shops and had a far better experience. Happy to say I found the dress I wanted the exact same day, at a different place.

She gave me and my party so much attention and had us laughing the entire time. She wasn’t pushy and gave me so much time in each dress to really take it in and decide what I liked and didn’t like. I was lucky enough to find my gown on the first visit and Sophie had a lot to do with that. She provided me with a great experience on such a special day when she wished me well and let me ring the bell. I would highly, highly recommend Miss Sophie if you are looking for a sweet, helpful, and genuine consultant. We also interacted with several other consultants and the manager during this visit, each and every one was equally as friendly and helpful. As a rule, embroidery is not done there from what I understand. Without knowing this, I asked to have my stepdaughter's name stitched inside my dress so she could be a part of our day. I booked my appointment months in advance to ensure I had a booking time where I could be assisted and guided while selecting a dress for my bridesmaids. Upon arriving to the store we were told to look around at the dresses, once we started looking at dresses the attendant left and provided no support placing dresses into our dressing rooms or gathering information about what we were looking for in a dress. Once the bridesmaids and I were shown to our dressing room again the attendant left us and we were left to find our own sizes, help each other with zippers, find other dresses to try on, etc. Overall the customer service was terrible and I wouldn't recommend the store to any future brides or people looking for formal wear.

I will admit that when I walked into David's Bridal I was very overwhelmed. I'm not much of a wedding girl, and I certainly didn't have a dress I'd been envisioning since childhood!! I mostly decided to check out David's Bridal to give my Mum and my Mother In Law the experience of "dress shopping" thinking I'd end up finding "the one" at a thrift store or something at a later date. However, Kristiana was SO helpful!! She could tell that I was immediately overwhelmed and stepped in to pull dresses on my behalf so I could try on different styles and see what I liked. She was very patience with us and our requests. She was very upfront and honest with me that with my wedding only 3 months away I would be buying off of the rack and wouldn't have time to order in alternate sizes. She did this compassionately which I appreciated instead of making me feel more stressed out. In the end I found two dresses that I love and both very reasonably priced. Kristiana told me that since they only had one of each dress in my size in stock that I should buy them both and was offered 7 days to return them. She suggested I take them both home, try them on every day, dance around, play with hair and makeup and different shoes and truly get a sense of which one felt the most "me" and the most appropriate for our intimate wedding. I was SO grateful for this!! In the end I happily deciding and was able to return the other dress after 6 days with no hassle or issues :)

I love Davids bridal and it is where I bought my dream wedding dress. But I have to say that going in for our bridesmaid dress appointment was very overwhelming. I have 5 bridesmaids and there was not enough space for them to try on dresses... we were smushed to one side given only 1 room for all 5 of them and no where for me or my aunts to sit. We kept being pushed out of the way most of the appointment so people could walk by us, leaving it hard to see what the dresses looked like on them in the time allotted for us. Also the lady helping us was very sweet and kind but she kept walking off with us not knowing where she was. I'm so glad I'm prepared and had the dress style ready or our appointment would have been a waste of time! Sorry to say but being totally honest, girls should know what they're going into. Highly recommend doing your appointments on the weekdays, but in our case bridesmaid dress shopping had to be on weekend with people traveling. Hope this helps a future bride!

FANTASTIC ordering experience from the staff over the phone. They couldn't have made it easier!! I was helped by two staffers, one still learning the ropes. Obviously there is a very well planned orientation program because when the seasoned employee jumped in, they had everything they needed. The Dartmouth staff were knowledgeable, friendly and even had a few tips to pass along!! The hardest part of the whole process was having to admit to my measurements this soon after Christmas.

Kate was the lady I was working with and while I appreciate her attempt at being nice, she came across as very fake and she looked bored to be there. I had an appointment at David's bridal with my bridesmaids to try on dresses for my upcoming wedding. I was planning on also shopping at David's Bridal for a wedding dress, but thankfully had an appointment at Chester and Felicity in the days prior that showed me what wedding dress shopping SHOULD look like. We came in and were greeted by staff, gave some information and then we were off looking at dresses. There is a huge selection of dress styles, colors, and sizes in store, however we did have some difficulty finding dresses in the correct color or size. Some of the dresses in the same color have slightly varying tones and I found I didn’t like how they looked next to each other. You can order dresses in but need to factor in time to order in a new dress if it isn’t what you wanted. It wasn’t until after an hour into our appointment that the store manager brought over color swatches for us to look at. He was wonderful in suggested styles for my girls. The staff member assigned to help us was not very helpful, was attending to other customers, and at points outright rude and disrespectful. She repeatedly targeted one of my bridesmaids, loudly announcing she would need a size 20, probably 22 (which in the end – a size 12 fits this girl perfectly). As a bride who ordered a size 12 dress, I was in shock. Having an associate speak to me in that manner would have left me in tears in my change room, and ultimately would have made me so self-conscious I probably would have extreme difficulties feeling confident in ANY dress. Every time I look at photos of my wedding dress, I think about how wonderful my experience was shopping for it. Leaving my appointment at David’s bridal, I specifically told the girls not to buy a dress. I don’t want to look at the bridesmaids on my wedding day and remember that awful experience. After the appointment, I called the store and spoke to a manager and was given an apology – but I will likely take my business elsewhere, as I don’t know what can be done to remedy that experience. While David’s bridal had a large selection of dresses and some really good prices, I would strongly suggest any bride consider going to another store where the customer service is top notch.

Exceptional service, the two ladies that we're helping us were well informed on their product and inventory. I came in with my 3 bridesmaid to find dresses and all were successful. Different styles same color, the two ladies, (I apologize, I'm bad with remembering names) listened to what my bridesmaids and I were saying, what we liked about the dresses and what we didn't, they offered suggestions which helped us. My first visit there in, I think, February, was less than steller we were constantly rushed by the consultant and reminded that her shift was almost up. This appointment made up for that, I didn't mention it before hand so I was please when we weren't put with the same women. We couldn't have had a better experience this time around. I'm so sorry for not writing your names down but know we were beyond happy with the exceptional customer service you showed us. When I called to book an appt, I asked if they had the styles/size/price range of wedding dresses that I wanted. They assured me there was a large selection. Drove 2.5 hrs to shop there because I always thought it was the go-to bridal shop, and I had found several styles on the website that I liked. They found me nothing I liked. I tried on one ugly dress and it was too big. They had nothing like they said they did. Not one dress from the website that I liked was in store, and I had found over 10 online. What a disappointing experience. Was so excited to get there, only to leave about 15 minutes later. I had a much better experience at Karma Bridal in Dartmouth. The sales associate quickly found me a gorgeous gown there, in a much smaller size than I had thought would ever fit me. If you have a particular style/price range in mind, make sure you ask exactly what they have in store at David’s before you get your hopes up looking at their website and wasting your time.

David’s Bridal (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia) made shopping for a bridesmaid dress incredibly easy! They were able to accommodate all my requests and connect my dress to the bride’s account in Ontario. Emily was so incredibly knowledgeable, attentive and helpful; she was able to suggest options that worked within the bride’s parameters and found me the perfect dress! This couldn’t have been an easier process. Covid protocols were also very well executed and I felt completely comfortable for the duration of the appointment.

It was a wonderful experience working with the alterations team. I had a horrible experience with another tailor who told me to buy another dress instead of having the dress altered. I am a plus sized woman and needed the sleeves on my dress changed. On my first appointment, Deborah told me they could certainly make the changes needed to my dress. I just completed two appointments at David's bridal and I had a really great experience! Emily Borgal was my stylist and she was AMAZING!!!!! I highly recommend that you request to work with Emily if possible! She was so sweet and personable, and she made me feel so beautiful! She had Spanx, shoes, accessories & jewelry picked out for me to try on with the dresses which really added to the experience. She pulled a dress for me to try based on what she was seeing on me - & that was the dress that was my top contender. Unfortunately I did not end up purchasing this dress, as I found the dress for me elsewhere. But the experience working with Emily was BY FAR the best experience when comparing the four shops that I went to. Do yourself a favor and book with this girl!

Bought my dream dress at David's bridal! They had a great selection to choose from. My 2 star rating is due to the lack of attention they give to their clients. I made an appointment and was double booked so my representative was going back and forth between myself and another client. I wasn't asked if I wanted to try on with accessories, and pretty much just given a dress and had to try it on myself. Many dresses were hard to get on,l due to the volume of tule etc...

I could not be more happy with David’s Bridal in Dartmouth NS!!!! Today we had appointments for 2/5 of my Bridesmaids and Amina was beyond amazing! She was extremely helpful; knew exactly how to direct us in the right direction so they could say YES to their bridesmaids dresses. She helped make both the girls very comfortable and found the perfect dresses that complemented their bodies! When she found out that I didn’t have a wedding dress yet, she acted immediately and booked me in for try-ons later that day. When I arrived an hour after we left from our Bridal try on, Selena was my gal and we clicked instantly! She understood exactly what I wanted and didn’t want for my wedding dress. She helped me find my dress a lot quicker than I expected I would and helped me with veils, payment, ordering, and sizing. At the end of a very emotional journey I am beyond excited that I said YES TO THE DRESS at David’s Bridal!!! We could not recommend them more!

I had a great experience! I walked in without an appointment just to look around and Emma, my consultant, arranged time for me and was by my side the whole time. I was very nervous going in as I had no idea what to expect. Emma took me under her wing and got me to try on different styles to have options and was very down to earth and so patient with me. I had an appointment with Alicia and due to unforeseen circumstances I was late. She happily said she'd do her best with the remaining time I had. I was able to try on a few dresses before the end of my appointment and she excused herself. When she came back she told me she had asked one of the other consultants to help me with a few more dresses. They were both very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating to my 5 month old daughter and mom. Also found a dress that I love .

She was absolutely amazing to work with, and made sure I found the right gown for me. Not only did she help me say yes to the dress , but she stayed PAST her shift for my bridal party appointment. I had a fantastic experience at David's Bridal this evening. I called and made a very last minute appointment, and chatted with Nicole a bit about my "vision". When I got to the store she had pulled some dresses for me to try that were perfect. The last one she showed me had little polka dots sewn into the tulle, similar to a dress I had been looking at online. I got goosebumps when I saw it... I tried it on, and it fit perfectly. It's the only dress I tried. Nicole was amazing... we connected right away, and I really felt like she understood what I was looking for. She anticipated any needs I had, but was never pushy. I had a great time with her. I highly recommend Nicole and David's Bridal to anyone.

I had the one and only bridal appointment I needed With Melissa at David's Bridal Dartmouth (and assisted by Scott). I had no intentions of buying my dress during my first bridal appointment (In fact , I was very firm, I certainly would not). Melissa was amazing! She got my input where it was needed and then used her knowledge to pick the perfect 4 dresses to try on. She allowed the time for me and my mom to share the experience by facetime with other family members. I never felt rushed to try on the next dress, or pressure to purchase. She made both my mom and I feel very comfortable, and we had her undivided attention through the entire experience. Scott was there to offer his assistance (which made a difference because the sample was just a bit big on my frame and I was losing the clips. He made sure I really had a good idea what the dress would look like when fitted appropriately ). I cannot say enough kind words about these two ! I walked away so thankful for an experience I was entirely nervous for, and they were a huge part of that!

Having visited the Hamilton store, I was BLOWN AWAY by the team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Our associate for the day was Logan. Not only was she real and relatable, but she was friendly, eager, and seemed genuinely interested in helping me find the dress of my dreams. Because I can never have too many opinions, I also grabbed Erika as she was going by checking in on everything. She was equally as invested. I had a bit of a different situation after purchasing a dress last year, then having substantial weight loss, I needed to return it, and find something else. These ladies made me feel fantastic from the second I walked in the door until the time I left. I managed to decide on a dress of a completely different style than I could have ever imagined. Being that I had to travel almost 6 hours, twice, they offered to ship the dress after the last adjustments. The fantastic seamstress made me feel like I had the perfect body and she was going to make that dress work for me. Thank you to the whole team there, you’re worth your weight in gold, and I can’t wait for my dress to arrive!

First of all my appointment was scheduled for 6pm and I arrived 30 minutes early. The employees had zero issues accommodating my early arrival. Both my maid of honour and Jr. bridesmaid were looked after first and were taken care of by a lovely young lady who revealed that it was her very first day. She had a great attitude and was very helpful. With shift changeover I was then personally taken care of by Rebecca. She has an amazing upbeat attitude and was wonderful to deal with.
