The team at the Dartmouth Chapters is always so helpful! On my recent visit I was asked by Alex if I needed help finding anything and I let him know I was there to find my next book club book but that I was browsing the front sections first before finding the book (because there is no such thing as having too many books)... and while I was browsing he went and found that book and brought it to me! THAT is amazing and such thoughtful customer service. The young lady that checked me through (I regretfully forgot to check her name tag!) was also amazing and I purchased the new Plum rewards and scored on a gorgeous blanket that will be a gift for someone this holiday season.

This book store is awesome. Reminded me of a Barnes and Noble from home but with a much bigger games and toys section. I was very excited to see the board game selection. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I also like that the staff carried around handheld devices and could check you out right there in the isle when you found what you were looking for. I look forward to visiting again next time i am in town.

On top of that you can't go wrong with the selection of books they have. Also, if you frequent Chapters it is worth your while to invest in their Plums reward card. Chapters at Mic Mac Mall carries a large variety of different books, toys, and other products that provides literal hours of browsing if you love reading as much as I do. The store is always in good shape, and the staff is very friendly.

The clerk who served me informed me that there debit machines where down to which I replied ok I'll get my wife as I had no cash on me. When my wife went to pay after I retrieved her the clerk said sorry he has no money to her I doubt I'll ever go back to this location. I can appreciate being careful at this time, but closing your washrooms and refusing to touch my purchases was a little off putting. That is what we wash our hands for and why we use sanitizer. You have touched the books when shelved, and then I am touching them. If you are a cashier then this comes with the territory. Perhaps Chapters should invest in some self checkouts? Thought you had staff walking around the store with checkouts for that, but no one offered us this option.

The only bookstore in my opinion. Support used book stores of course if you can, but even for obscure product that you have to order in Indigo and chapters make it the thing. Staff here is usually very friendly unless Arts around the holidays in which case they're friendly but usually a little more curt. Prices are reasonable but always better online.

You can always rely on chapters. Sad that they are required to sell less books to stay afloat but if that's the demand then I am glad we still have a great bookstore because it's worth it in the same way as we will always need libraries and the end justifies the means in the case of ensuring we always have access to great books. Plus the service is really solid and it has the best starbucks in the area.

This is my favourite chapters in Nova Scotia! The staff are friendly and knowledgable, they have LOTS of books and merchandise to browse and it has a comfortable, no rush atmosphere. Prior to covid, I'd grab a coffee from Starbucks and browse the shelves for a while before settling on a book. With covid, this is no longer possible however, Chapters has been able to maintain the magic of the book store during the pandemic.

Books! It's no Waterstones, but as far as book selection in Canada goes, it's the best. There's an attached Starbucks, and (at the time of this posting) a table in the back for students, book clubs (talk to management for accomodation), or readers in general. Friendly staff. Relatively organised stacks, though things are sometimes misshelved by your fellow customers.

The price of books these days is ridiculous. $31 for a children's book is pure stupidity. No wonder we have a literacy problem in this country, only rich people can afford new books. I will never buy a new book again. I'd rather get books from value village. At least they know that books shouldn't cost more then $5. Who do these authors think the are? The second coming of Christ? Their books have like 4 words a page and it looks like a 12 year old drew the pictures. Some of them are even digital pictures which require almost know effort at all. Shame on all of you.

I go to Chapters as often as I can, just as often for beautiful giftware, stationary items and stocking stuffers as much as I do for books. The children’s section is particularly fantastic, and there is always a large assortment of board games, puzzles and pleasantly on my last trip I discovered- records. Yes, actual vinyl LP’s. The only complaint I ever had about Chapters was when they removed all the easy chairs from amongst the stacks years ago. Even if they still had them they'd have to be taken out because of the pandemic. A great layout that keeps it easy to find what you're looking for. Staff are always helpful and pleasant and can always point you in the right direction. Apart from books Chapters is a great place to find new board games or puzzles, a massive section of children's books and even a dedicated teens area too.

How do bookstores even stay afloat these days!? Nevertheless, this one persists, largely (I think) due to the wide variety of interior decorations and other tchotchkies they sell. Still there is no better place to go browse a huge selection of books with a coffee in hand than here. Well, there's the library, but then you can't own it!

Lots of free parking. Great store. A solid third is giftware and stationary. Can have lineups during peak times and is primarily focused on top selling books, so be prepared to special order anything too out of the ordinary or older books. Excellent Starbucks with tonnes of seating and an amazing staff.

Love the kids section and so does my 4.5 year old. Found out not too long ago that they sell LOL items and have the newest collection always in stock. They even send emails offering discounts for toys and they can be used for LOL items. Great news for parents with kids that are obsessed with LOLs.

Poor Customer Service After ordering a book online and being notified it was ready for pickup, I went to Chapters this morning to collect it. After waiting in a long line to get to the register (no problem - good that they're busy), the cashier then called out over the PA for someone to bring me my book and I was told to wait off to the side near the entrance. And of course I waited and waited and no-one came. I then approached an employee standing idle and asked if he could follow up. He came back a few minutes later to say there was no-one attending to my request but that he could. After a quick scan of my email, he disappeared for a minute or two and then he was back with my book - easy! So here's a suggestion for Chapters - keep online orders for pickup behind the registers to make it nice and easy for your customers instead of it being the long drawn out 20 minute process it turned into.

Great store with a good size. Massive selection of books ranging from new to classics. I even like their selection of those new e reader devices, they are fun to play around with. My wife keeps trying to talk me into buying one but I still feel pretty committed to good old fashioned paper. I find the staff here to be overall not very forward with being helpful, some that I have talked to do seem fairly knowledgeable though!
