My hubby and I went into Stanton Optical and immediately as we walked inside Kyle Mager greeted us and assisted with a broken arm of his glasses It ended up being an irreparable situation but the way in which Kyle and the other lab optician was committed to working on the frames was an impressive commitment like none other. Truly appreciate all of their hard work and dedication and Kyle was sure that we did not leave disappointed.
I’ve been going to Stanton for years. I’ve even walked out with glasses in an hour. This time around, I was helped out primarily by Chris. From checking out to picking up, he spent time making sure my glasses were exactly what I wanted. You definitely get what you’re looking for here.

Spoke to someone in the scheduling department named Elise and they recommended I drive to Toledo, Ohio for an eye examination. She then proceeded to hang up on me when I asked to speak to a manager. I called back and spoke to a representative named Junior and explained what happened and he was very helpful. He was able to get me in within the next couple of hours. I truly hope the lines are recorded so they can hear how the first representative spoke to me. Elise is very unprofessional and makes the company look TERRIBLE. She need to be fired immediately.

Bad quality frames made in china for very high prices, they don't have good brands or quality. I don't feel comfortable with my prescreption thinking to go somewhere else for new exam and eyeglasses.
Had the best experience purchasing glasses for my almost 4 year old daughter. Chris was knowledgeable & efficient. I didn’t feel rushed at all, but he did what he could to get us in & out. Quickly went through my options without being pushy.

This is a very unprofessional atmosphere. I have ordered 2 pairs of glasses and contacts and paid for top lenses and frames in MARCH 2012 and it is now September and I STILL HAVE NOT RECEiVED MY GLASSES!! Have been fighting to get my money back and they have continued to play dumb and act like they cant believe something like this happened. The manager refuses to return my calls and when I walk in, he randomly has something to take care of in the back and never returns to speak with me. Absolutely horrible service and I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place at all.

DO NOT GO HERE I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO OTHER REVIEWS I BASICALLY GOT ROBBED $300 first off there is no return policy. I was unsatisfied with my first pair of lenses, it felt like i was in a fish bowl and i would get very nautious after wearing them. The technician claimed the perscription from my was wrong or i just needed to adapt to the new lenses. BS They upgraded my lenses for free after bartering, and the vision got a little better, but i was still in a fish bowl. I can't even wear them. All they will offer is a re style, which is pointless because their actual lenses are crap and ill run into the same exact problem with different frames. Bottom line, spend the money and go to an eye doctor that knows what they are doing. Ive been trying to get a refund for a couple months, wasting time and effort going back and forth from their store. Worst service, worst product, and worst experience I have ever had, while ive been wearing glasses my whole life and have never had a problem with my certified eye doctor. DO NOT SHOP HERE you'll end up writing a review just like me...
Made a reservation online. Modified it and got it updated and drove 35 miles for the confirmed reservation at 10AM October 5, 2020. After checking in at the front desk they stated "NO RESERVATION" was booked for the day at or time. After driving away 30 minutes later we received an email stating (your appointment has been canceled". STAY AWAY!!
Everyone was very friendly, but they were not clear on the cost of everything. I asked a lot of questions and was told the same thing. Thinking I was going to spend about $100, no almost $300! I went on a Saturday and was told my order would be ready by noon on Monday since they have the lenses there. I checked the status on line it said the 17th when I called to check it I’m told not till the 19th over two weeks later. When I told her what I was told when I checked out, she was rude! I don’t recommend going there. Very disappointed!
I was in and out in an hour with 2 pairs of new glasses. Not sure why all the bad reviews. If im not happy with my prescription I can come back and fix it.
Returned there for my long overdue checkup, of course my Eyes had changed, I had very specific request as to what I wanted, (Progressives, Deep Grey Photo Grades, Springs in the Bows) Chris the Asst Sales Mgr. and his compatriot answered every question very Professionally had suggestions but listened to me. The office has state of the art equipment, Hugh selection and I am of an age I shop for value both in my time and $$$, Stanton Met and exceeded my expectations in all ways…Highly recommend, Thanks Chris and assistant (I’m sorry I didn’t catch your name).
Ordered a pair of bifocals and was told they would be in two weeks later. Date come and they are in but not checked so come in next day (friday). Go in and they are wrong, someone used wrong measurement. Have to wait until next tuesday. Call and they are not done, call back next day. Call and again told not done but they will put a rush on it and call in an hour or two. Never call. Finally, three weeks and two days after placing order I get my glasses. Staff made out at every turn that it was some how my fault for the delay due to my prescription. Never waited longer than a week anywhere before. Never going back there!
The Dr. is great and efficient, everything else is low budget at high prices! They tell you one thing over the phone at the 800 number then they don't honor it at the location, "Oh we don't do that at this location" well this is the only location in this city and the chick on the phone knew where I was calling from !!!! The frames aren't worth the price hence, I suppose the buy one get one. You wonder around with no one paying any attention to you, no sign in, "Oh just sit at one of the tables, someone will help you" Really!!!!! Wall to wall of the same frames, I would appreciate them more if they advertised for just what they are low rate, instead of perpetrating to be legit! This is the worse place, I'm confused as to why they're still open! Gave one star for the Dr. and besides you have to give a star in order to post!
The eye exam was a joke (Was asked two read two letters off a chart) and quality of frames are questionable! Very disappointed.

Went for an exam the receptionist was jot at her desk and a man walked in 10 minutes after me and she services hom first. Not right never will I return and this was my first time there very unprofessional.

I can't even rn! Yesterday I decided I needed new glasses so I went online to find free eye exams cuz b**** has no insurance. I made my appointment yesterday afternoon (online - thumbs up for no necessary human contact) for this morning and I am ALREADY wearing my new glasses! My mind is blown!

I spent 377 dollars. I was told buy one get one free but you pay for lenses then they charge you for other things that I would never have had to pay for at another place or at least not as much..... I'm having a hard time with this situation I also was told that they take insurance but they only accept insurances that are only for vision..… Not a very good experience with Stanton optical…... I will not be returning no time soon if I don't have to.…
I called about a concern and went in to be seen. The team and manager were amazing and helped figure out what could be done to help the vision problem I was having with my prescription. They took their time and did testing and were happy to keep me informed throughout the entire process. A solution was found and corrections made. They cared and provided great customer service. I did not feel like a number or just an appointment with dollar signs. Thank you Kyle!
Absolutely terrible service. I called asked if they take my insurance they say yes. I go for my appointment and they have time reschedule. Go back 2 days later and its isn't a short trip. They now tell me they don't take my insurance. I call absolutely livid about it and they transfer me 7 times to speak with Todd the manager that never gets on the phone. Do not believe a word they say.

Kyle helped me with my new prescription glasses, and I was really satisfied with the result! I couldn't believe that glasses at such a convenient price would be also so well made. Highly recommended.

First time at stanton optical and had a great experience. I went in with a script from my dr to have sunglasses and clear glasses made. Their frame selection is huge and the staff is very friendly much more so than others that i had been too. Chris's service was superb in ordering, measuring and fitting. He was very understanding and compassionate toward my extream sensetivity to light and the pain that it brings me. He also educated me on why light colored eye people are generally more light sensetive and found him to be very interesting. Im hoping that my new glasses will in fact reduce my pain i been experienceing and reduce the light going in. Chris assured me that if i want to change anything that i can do so within 30days. I felt good about that policy. I will defenatly recommend Stanton to my friends. Thank you so much Chris for your amazing help! Namaste
This was the single worst experience I have ever had shopping for glasses. I went in there on a Tuesday afternoon, and upon entering-- one gets the sense that they are either severely understaffed, or that they are just poorly managed. I waited an hour for the eye doctor even though I had an appointment for a week. After he finally performed my "exam", I was told to go pick out a pair of glasses. None of the frames were in my size and all seemed rather poorly made. What's worse is that I had some obnoxious little salesgirl following me around the store in a hyper-conscious manner. One got the sense that she was instructed to do so with every customer in order to cut back on shoplifting. It was horrible having this little troll on my heals as I tried on glasses. She was rude and unprofessional. I finally NEGOTIATED a pair of frames that I only sort of liked. DO NOT PAY STICKER PRICE-- REGARDLESS OF WHAT "SALE" IS GOING ON!!!! They are no better than a used car lot and are READY TO NEGOTIATE! I walked out of there with a pair of crappy frames that I hated for like a hundred bucks. I'm not even sad that I lost them a week later, because they gave me a headache and were blurry. This was a hundred dollar lesson learned. NEVER again.

Best experience in a eye shop, very friendly staff. Was able to give me a close subscription so I had contacts for my wedding. I live out of state, was able to walk in and they took care of me highly recommend. Got a 6 month subscription shipped to my house.
Quick and easy got my glasses the same day and Chris and every one else were extremely nice and the glasses i got were ready in 30 minutes , over all a nice and simple experience!

Kyle and everyone actually working in the store are wonderful. My issues are with the helpline and customer service! When you try to call the phone number listed you are directed to a call center. I have questions for the people who actually helped me in person and it's impossible to reach them. It is very frustrating and it honestly is enough for me to never want to do business with them again.

Today was my first time at Staton and it most definitely wont be my last! The staff was so efficient and beyond friendly! Kristina was amazing with my registration, pre exam, and helping me pick the perfect glasses and Chris was so patient with helping me decide what I need for my glasses and checkout! Kyle, while busy with other tasks, still made it a point to notice me and be super kind. Also love the atmosphere overall in there! And cant forget to mention, so many unique glasses to choose from!!!

The only decent one in this whole place was the Doctor. Glasses are overpriced, sales ppl rush and push you. Two young men behind the counter can't be bothered once your card has been swiped and that's clear. When it came to picking up glasses I was never called like they said on would be a week goes by and I CALLED THEM, where I was told"yea, they've been ready". When I picked them up, they were horribly done, not even cleaned and the guy again, didn't want to be bothered and told me to come back when the adjuster was there to have my glasses fitted correctly. Will never be back! 3 months later, on hold trying to get a copy of my prescription and I've been on hold for over 10minutes! THEY CAN NOT LEGALLY KEEP YOUR Prescription From You! I called an attorney! Shame on this businesss!
Terrible experience. I wish I could rate it zero stars instead of one. Do not fall for their "buy one get one free" gimmick My experience 1) Eye exam: The eye exam was only a few minutes long. I have had eye exams in the past, and this was a joke. 2) Picking out frames: All of their frames are knock off, low quality frames. The staff wasn't very helpful. 3) Placing my order: The low quality frames are what is buy one get one free. You still have to pay for the lenses, and then they try to up-sell you every option on the lenses to try and make money. She wrote my order down on a piece of paper and used a calculator and pencil to figure out my total. It did not seem very legit. 4) Picking up my glasses: The lenses we not put in the frames correctly and I had to wait for them to fix them. None of the glasses come with a case or cloth. They just toss them in a stanton optical sleeve. She quickly made sure they fit and sent me on my way. A day later, my head hurts because they are way too tight and they are certainly not sitting straight on my face either. I am dreading having to go back to have them adjusted. Bottom line: I felt like I was on a conveyor belt.They wanted me spending the most amount of money in the least amount of time, and before I had a chance to question how terrible the place is. I would strongly recommend going somewhere else. And even at "buy one get one free with a free eye exam" and low quality $100 frames, you are still not going to leave spending less than $400.

Horrible exam that has you only reading letters in the dark with 1 hand over each eye. Now I understand why they don't feel right, because I use the glasses with both eyes OPEN! Service was quick, so quick I was rushed out the door after telling them the 2 pairs of glasses I just purchased and tried on were very wrong. I was then told to take these 2 pairs of beer goggles home and get used to them and call back in a week or so.

Edited again: management contacted me after reading this review to do everything they could to fix the bad experience we had. I will return. Edited: When we went back to pick up the glasses we had the same staff member helping us. My wife was unhappy with one of her selections and when she told him this he proceeded to guilt trip her as if their 30 day guarantee was some how going to cost him personally. He made her feel so bad for not liking how the glasses looked that she decided she’d just take them. Now she has a pair of glasses she’ll never wear and that guy is still the running joke in our house. Prices are GREAT. Selection is ok. Service during the eye exams is spectacular (the sharp dressed man who sets up the appointments and I believe is the manager of the place is absolutely awesome-easy to talk to and very good and efficient at his work!), but the sales floor lack experience, tact, and empathy. I would totally go here if you’re looking to save money or don’t mind having frames that are “so last season” (like me lol), but if you actually want help with selecting frames, if you want modern, current fashions, or if you’re not just totally headstrong and able to tell a person “no” without caring about their reaction, then you probably want to go somewhere else. (I only left a review because the sales guy begged me to during our first visit. I only edited it today because his service after receiving the review went through the floor and my original review was not representative of the overall service I/we received.) Great customer service. Nice selection of products. Super helpful and informative Mgmt staff. EXTREMELY affordable, service is better than the cost.

I absolutely recommend Stanton Optical. Jason and Ashley took excellent care of me and I ended up with two pair of beautiful glasses at an amazing price. Ashley helped me choose frames to flatter my face and Jason made sure the fit was perfect when I picked them up. In addition Jason was able to help with my insurance question when I made an error in understanding my coverage. Overall a truly pleasant experience. I will be back!
Great experience. At first it was really frustrating because the man on the phone told me that they accepted my insurance and once I got there I was told that they don't. So I was ready to leave and go find another place but the woman that helped me at first was very kind and explained I wouldn't end up paying as much as one would think one would pay without having insurance. Once my eye exam was completed Chris the manager helped out, showing me frames, and was extremely personable. Looking forward to picking up my two glasses in 2 weeks and I highly recommend going to this establishment for your eye exam and frames. I feel the reason there are so many negative reviews is because there's not enough people who leave good reviews most people only leave reviews when they're dissatisfied when people are satisfied they really don't take the time to sit down to write much about a place. I wouldn't pay too much attention to these negative reviews as I had a great experience and I'm sure the other customers that were there when I was there also had a great experience I did not hear one complaint or one disgruntled patient.
The Stanton on Sheridan Drive is a top-notch operation filled with people that are knowledgeable & helpful. I'm thankful for the store manager & specifically Buck who helped resolved my eyeglass needs. Guess what? I got my glasses the same day!!!

Had another great experience at Stanton Optical, my glasses arm broke so I stopped in to have it , within minutes they repaired my glasses and went I ask about the charge, I was told No Charge!!!
I was skeptical at first, after seeing so many negative reviews for this location, however I really like the sound of their deal of the Free Exam and Buy One Get One on frames. So, against my anxiety built from all the reviews, I decided to check it out. I must say, I was blown away by the whole experience. I saw Dr. Glenn who was very nice. He explained how my astigmatism worked/looked compared to most on top of letting me know I should get my peripheral vision tested again to see if it worsened or stayed the same. There were so many frame options and you could match frames or even pick out different ones, including sunglasses if you wanted one to be sunglasses and the other normal frames. Dana helped me with selecting my lenses and answered the questions I had. (Like why I had these weird streaks on the lenses I got from Wal-Mart - I learned Anti-Glare coating is delicate that day.) To make everything even more shocking was they had my new glasses ready for me two days later. I picked them up, they had me try them on to see how they fit/sat on my face and bam I was done. It was quick and painless and I will totally come again when I need to renew my script.
Way too much fine print for any of their promotional offers. So typical in this industry, just use an online vendor and save yourself the hassle. My recommendation: don't bury things like "eye exam required" in the fine print if you're pretending to be up front about things. Seeing that kind of thing immediately turns me off to ever shopping somewhere. If you're going to have promotions, put the caveats in the same print as the offer.

Went in to get a cuple pair of glasses and the crew was awesome!! They didnt rush me helped me will all my questions and gave me a great price. I got a set and did not like them all the way I went to get a another pair and the gentleman saved me the money and told me to pick a new set and swap them out for me ! They made sure i was comfortable and happy! Now that's customer survice!

I had no idea that I even needed glasses until I came to Staton Optical. I originally came because I needed an updated eye exam to renew my driver's license. Turns out, I needed glasses! The staff was super friendly and helpful. They explained everything that was going on with my eyes in a way that I could easily understand. I was able to look around and select my frames and found a pair that I actually really liked. (I'm not a big fan of my face shape, so the idea of picking out glasses was daunting to me, but like I said, I found them!) Now I notice a huge difference when I don't wear my glasses, and again, I didn't even know I needed them! Will definitely come the next time I need an eye exam or glasses.

I came in July 2nd to have my frames fitted with my prescription, I was told they would be ready for pick up July 16th. I have called in every day since, spoke to the customer service number as well and all they tell me is "it shows here they'll be in tomorrow". I've asked to speak to a manager more than a dozen times and they say they'll forward my info to them because apparently they're never in store, and no one has contacted me, they won't refund my money, and no one knows where MY frames are.
YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! My 10 yr old daughter picked out plastic frames and a pair of wire frames (with her dad). When I took her to pick them up, the plastic frames didn't fit her correct at all. No one ever fit her for the frames! The 'metal' frames which feel more like plastic had the lens pop out 3 days after she got them, and at least once a week thereafter. We went back to the store, and they did offer to exchange the plastic frames, and they are getting the lens for the wire frames re-cut because it wasn't right from the beginning. We wasted an hour and a half yesterday to resolve these problems - the service was terribly slow. Also, the eye exam was incorrect! I had her at our regular small optical store that we've always used for her exam, but the next week her dad got her the '$100 eye exam, with 2 pair of glasses'. The exam was off from the prescription from our normal doctor so I told Stanton I wanted them to use that prescription. I called today and waited 30 MINUTES ON HOLD to speak with the gentleman that was helpful at yesterdays visit, hung up and called back - he finally got on the line and said no one ever told him there was a call for him. A WASTE OF TIME! WASTE OF MONEY! VERY POOR QUALITY!!! I will never, ever shop there and was furious when her dad said he took her there and bought that junk. You only have one pair of eyes, and your vision is very important! DON'T SKIMP ON EYE EXAMS, GLASSES OR CONTACTS!!!
I desperately need glasses and can not give high enough praise for Stanton optical and their staff. Kyle was extremely professional, helpful, and the entire process was quicker than I assumed it’d be! Very satisfied customer and will be returning to kyle in the future for any other eye needs.

Always under staffed. Once called for general information and was transferred 3 times, never answered my question. Gave up when they asked to call me back. Have had them cancel and reschedule my appointment multiple times on me also.

What a lovely place. Had a warm welcome upon waking in. The doctor is so sweet and thorough- made sure my script was just perfect. I had a little bit of anxiety anticipating spending hundreds of dollars but Leah helped me price match my new glasses and I was able to buy them for such a reasonable price. This was the WORST experience with a supposed "doctor" that I have ever had. I had to go to a different eye doctor to get a legitimate exam, which had a far different script than the "Doctor" from Stanton Optical. They have refused to give me a refund on this bogus exam, essentially stealing $79 from me. NEVER GO HERE! If there were a zero star option I would pick that.
Bought 2 pair of glasses at Tonawanda location for which I paid over $ 300 and I am totally dissatisfied with their quality. Less than a month and 1 pair is coming apart and I cannot wear it, the lens gives you a distorted view in certain angles. Very poor quality of Chinese frames/lens and you do not get a feeling they care more than getting your money. You can buy better glasses at RIte Aid for 10 bucks. That's what happens when you get chains in medical and dental field, quality goes way down !

Feels like a scam to me, because the guy gives me the bill and tell me to sign after I had the dilating eye drops. Thank god I was alert enough to take my time to make sure everything is correct. So I picked two pair of glasses with a total price of around $120, the bill came out to be $300+. I asked him what those extra costs are, turned out to be all the garbage accessories which I don't need.

The strangest business model I've ever encountered, No sign in sheet, nobody to take a name, you wander around the store until someone is available, which can be a very long time. Not sure if all locations operate this way, but the Sheridan/Eggert branch is unorganized. This store is all about profits, not about customer service or satisfaction. I'd stongly recommend finding another optician.

He said yes we have Versace dolce Gabbana Oakley and Gucci so I make my appointment get there after a 40 minute drive only to find out that they don't have any of the ones I asked for except Nike. I had a great experience. The only thing that would have made it perfect was to have a DR. on staff who could dilate my eyes as I am diabetic. Other than that, everything was great from the choice of glasses to the speed of pick-up--same day!
I waited a month for my contacts and then they told me that the color I chose was discontinued.??? Why didn't they call to tell me that? I won't return here again.

The good was the service and selection was good. The bad is they fail to tell me they didn't take my insurance until after the eye exam. If I would have left I would have been stuck with the eye exam bill. The frames on sale are not my taste they are something my grandfather would wear so ended up walking out with a $450 bill.
I wish i could give a zero review. I bought the prescription glasses along with the frame on12/16/2014. It broke in couple of months and I paid good purchase price for this "Metro" brand product. Now, I went to the store today 11/27/15 to get it fixed since these were still under one year warranty. When I went to the store, I discovered that this frame cannot be replaced because this model was discontinued. They cannot fix it either. The solution to this horrible situation was- Get another prescription glasses and frame and get 20 % on them which means that I am paying roughly $25 for prescription glasses and at least 30-50 dollars on a new frame. What is the point of a one year warranty when they cant fix it nor they can replace it? Bullshit. This place is a rip off and sell cheap frames that are made in China. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. Trust my words and go some place else. Very dissatisfied!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the place to go for eyeglasses. The customer service is perfect. The attention to detail is way above par. My daughter needed special care due to the astigmatism. Ashley spent a lot of time with her to make sure she had confidence and ability to put contacts in. She was so sweet to her. Buck was not only efficient and very helpful when figuring out what our best deal would be for my son and daughter. Both of these employees treated us like family aND made us feel that our needs were important. important. I will definitely be coming back .
So... this place is a complete scam!!! I show up for two appts... for 7 & 10 years old..I get there and is told my 7yo can’t be seen because the doctor isn’t there...however, my 10 yo can be seen by the doctor on the screen. WT*? Right???!?! I had to ask..how is my daughter going to communicate the issues she been having with her vision?? So the representative proceeds to tell me that it is the same eye exam except the computer sends the doctor a message if there is a problem...this is a complete waste of time and energy to go to this place! When I booked the appointment, I expected my 7&10 yo to be seen by a doctor...I guessed I should not have ever thought that! So if you are having issues with your vision... please do not waste your time visiting this establishment...especially if you want answers or if you want to speak with a doctor!

Picked up a pair of glasses but they allowed me to use a set of frames I've been using for a number of years and I really like them. The new set of lenses was a strange combo as my left eye is weaker so it's actually two Rx extremes between the right and left eye; the order had to be sent out and took exactly 2wks to the day. A nice gentleman even replaced my older nose-pads on my old frames now with the newer lenses at no cost, and even allowed me to keep the older lenses that were replaced!
Chris moerman is always so helpful for the visits I have here, he remembers you and always makes sure you have the best experience, he educates you about things with optical and makes the whole thing just fun and easy. Definitely look forward to seeing him when we come into shop, keep up the great work! (Side note everything is very clean in shop and they take safety measures very seriously)

I have seen some scary reviews, but my husband and I have gone multiple times now and have only had positive experiences. Both the purchasing of glasses, along with some standard adjustments that took place later, went very smoothly. The staff was helpful and quick. No complaints!

Very unhappy with this place, called to make an appointment asked them if they took my insurance, they said yes. When I got there they didn't take it, then the lady at the desk says that their phone service just tells everyone that they take all insurances. Sounds like bad business to me, I walked out.
Buying glasses here was okay, however I also had an appointment with the eye doctor. He spent 3 minutes with me, and said I needed a stronger prescription. I didn't think my vision had changed but I am not the doctor, so I trusted him. A year later I went to a different eye doctor, who said that my precription was to stronger! So now I understand why they give free appointments here.
When I called them and asked if they excepted my insurance independent health they said yes so I scheduled an appointment on my lunch break from work and when I there they took care of people that had a later appointment than me first then when they finally got to me they said they didn’t except my insurance and I was late getting back from my lunch because they don’t follow their scheduled appointments. Absolutely terrible service.

Do not waste your time and money with Stanton Optical. Here is my personal experience with them. I purchased my glasses on October 2nd 2013. I was told to pick them up on the 21st. I arrived on the 22nd, they had a hard time finding my glasses took 20 minutes. I had them make only one pair not trusting they would get them right. Sure enough after two days of trying them out, they were made wrong. I returned them on the 24th, explained the issue, they tested and confirmed the issue. Its October 30th today and I still do not have my glasses. They have my $595.00 since October 2nd and I have noting but a waste of my time and effort. I called the national customer service line and receive an automated attendant that directs me to leave a message. I left a message with the information that was requested on the recording. UPDATE - So today is the 31st of October and still no glasses and no call. Plus customer service did not call me back at all. I called customer service again and left them a second message. In my second message I told them that this was my second attempt to contact them. UPDATE - Today is November 1st! Day 31 - Customer service has not responded to my messages and the store has not called me. I decided to call the store today and request a refund. They kept me on the phone for 30 minutes and ignored my request. The manager finally got on the phone, I told him I wanted a refund. He insisted that I come into the store and was extremely rude and belligerent. Very unprofessional and poor customer service. He was extremely confrontational talking over me and did not listen. I asked that his district manager call me and hung up. UPDATE - Today is November 6th 2013 and I have left the 3rd and final message to national customer service. UPDATE - Today is November 8th 2013 and I have not received and phone calls from customer service or the store. I have decided to contact my credit card company and dispute the charges. I will be taking my business else where.

I read a few reviews before going to buy my glasses today and was a little apprehensive about going as most of the reviews were negative, but I figured that most of the people that take the time to post a review do it cause they are angry, because of a bad experience or they were just having a bad day, or they were the one of the few who actually had a problem. I was met by a service rep named Dana who made the entire experience more than enjoyable, I actually had fun. The place was bright and clean and everyone was pleasant. I went in to get the 2 pairs for $69.00 and I wasn't going to get any extras cause they can add up fast and they do try to sell you on all the ameneties, cause its also they're job to make money, so I don't blame them for trying to sell me on the extras. I explained to Dana that I broke two pairs of my glasses in the past 6 months and don't want to spend alot on them cause they will probly suffer a similar fate as my previous glasses, so she explained the warranty plan available and went with that, which brought my grand total to $105 out the door with my eye exam and tax included. I'm happy with that as the last time I bought glasses elsewhere with a few of the extras it was over $600. Before I left I asked Dana how long it would be till I could pick up my glasses, expecting it to be 7 to 10 days according to some of the reviews I had read and feared longer as one review said it took 26 days to get theirs. I was amazed when she said I can pick them up after 4pm tomorrow!!! I have absolutely NO complaints about this place for buying glasses, I give them 5 stars and I mean it! the lesson learned: take those "bad" reviews with a grain of salt... go to Stanton with an open mind and have your own experience there and then write a review about it, good or bad, just be honest about it so that it can help others. thankyou for taking the time to read my review - Edward

I would like to send out a thank u to Kyle Mager from the Sheridan Avenue in Tonawanda, New York. I needed the nose pieces on my glasses and I am a Disabled Veteran. I went to the V.A. on Bailey Avenue and they could not get me in on Thursday, January 9th, 2020.So I stopped this Stanton Optical location and Kyle went above and beyond to make sure I had what I needed. I went in on a Saturday and was greeted instantly when I walked in. They are very quick and efficient while being very friendly and personable. They were able to get me in instantly then I picked out my frames and was told they would be ready in 2 days. After the woman walked to the back and came out she told me that the manager was going to get them done for me right away and would be done in an hour. For lenses and frames?!? That is the fastest and nicest service I have ever experienced in my years of eyecare. I would recommend this place to everyone and their prices are great with huge deals with eye exams and glasses, even for people like me without insurance.
They say they work with all insurances but they don't actually bill your insurance, the doctor is not in person nor in the same country, and I'm getting texts to pick up an order I never placed. Seems a lot like their system is hacked so now I am regretting giving them my personal information in the first place. Not a trustworthy company.
Walked out. The doctor yelled at my special needs child who is 17, told me he was uncooperative as he could not hold his eyes open for the drops, demanded he "remove that hat" meaning the helmet he has to wear for seizures. RUDE staff. Waited over an hour to spend 5 minutes in the doctor's area and told to go out and wait another 30 minutes. Quality of frames is far below standard. If I could give less than one star I would. GO ELSEWHERE. Charging additional for Medicaid for the lenses and frames and coatings when his sister's glasses 4 weeks ago at another place were FREE with medicaid despite being very very thick. Steer clear. They are unprofessional, unethical, and nasty.
Chris, Kyle , and Ashley were quick to help me out...gave me such amazing service I've never had any customer service as great as theirs anywhere.... there attn to detail and the ability to help.me figure out my best options were by far the best in buffalo I'd highly recommend this place and these people to anyone that needs glasses new or replacement. Sorry to say only 2 Were Very Helpful and rest Not at all- and I know have bifocals I can’t rwad from and when picked Up my glasses the creepy guy who helped me said I wasn’t use to it being so strong- That was after the eye doctor told me my prescription wasn’t strong enough on the ones I had and when I left I can’t read when I got there I was able to read I found this to be disgusting and when I got there I had a choice of two rows of frames America best help so much better they never called me to tell me my glasses were ready there so unfriendly

He helped me pick the best brand of contacts that were best for my high astigmatism it’s taken me years to find a comfortable fitting pair and I finally have them! On top of that he was kind enough to fix my damaged glasses on the spot. Would highly recommend this place.

The worst place to ever go to. The glasses are horrifically bad and snap quickly. I have the experience. I tried to put my glasses on and they snapped in minutes. I've had two pairs of glasses within 6 months and they have broke. Save your money and please never got to this horrible unskilled waste of space clinic.

I had scheduled an eye exam for 10:45am and was not seen until NOON. I was not even seen by a real live doctor, rather just a guy over a webcam who did the eye exam. They told me the glasses I chose would be ready in 15 minutes and I have been sitting here for almost an hour. In total, I have been here for 2 hrs and 15 minutes and am still waiting for my glasses. I will never come here again. I would rather pay regular price for good glasses than waste my day waiting for a pair of mediocre ones.

Get to the appointment and that doctor doing the exam does not take that insurance, so i need to pay for the exam. SCAM 2 Told me i could get 2 pairs of glasses $99 and the cost of the exam is free. I picked out 2 pair os glasses they said it would be $300. SCAM 3 I told them i just wanted to pay for the exam and take my script elsewhere. They charged me $45 my co pay was suppose to be $25. Just recently moved and needed a new place to get glasses some reviews had me feeling lenient, but I had a great experience with the people at Stanton. They were kind gave me all the time I needed to find the pair of glasses I wanted. When it came to buying the glasses the manager Kyle noticed my prescription was 2 years behind and squeezed me in for a quick check up and I was in and out! Glad I chose this place highly highly recommend.

Overall they had probably 10 different child glasses to choose from. When I scheduled an appointment for my son's first pair of glasses, I asked questions about his age and the kinds of glasses they have for smaller children. When I arrived for my appointment the staff were rude. They cared more about talking with each other rather then helping the customers. They made me feel awful because my son is so young and needs glasses. I left very upset from the low level of care they showed.

So, I personally have mixed feelings and opinions about this particular location of Stanton Optical. I am a regular costumer of Stanton Optical for two years and after having not a good experience this last month, I have come to my thoughts that I no longer would prefer to be seen as eye patient at this company. First, their areas are not sanitary. The people are just fine, on what I understand that they do not like their job only by not showing up when they are supposed to do so exactly when you have an appointment with them. Back to sanitary issues, the building itself looks amazing but inside it gives you the wrong idea. Most of the times there is no receptionist available so you may want to sit tight and wait a good six to ten minutes for the person who most likely will put you on hold until another person is available. Second, their ridiculously priced exams. They have "deals" on where you can get two pairs of glasses and a "free eye exam" for XYZ amount of dollars, while you can absolutely order your glasses AND lens contacts online by saving an enormous time going back and forth to this location. While I did that, I understand the high convenience you get once you learn there is a way to really save time and money. Third, the appointments. I always go online and set up an appointment for a certain time. You show up five to ten minutes (I show up way earlier than that) hoping to get settled right away or at least sometime earlier than you scheduled. No. It sure does not happen even when you are right on time. It's short-staffed and one person does many things at once for all costumers. Like what in the world do you do this? Run around, take one costumer and put them on hold and go back to the other one, back and forth. Fourth, this is personalized issue. For the sake of my life I needed contacts. I went at the location (where everything went the same as the description above) on a Saturday, and bam!, the internet went off. We had to reschedule for the next Saturday. I did. They tried to call me but never left a message (reasons I do not know). Went on Saturday and while I scheduled on my phone this appointment, the Staton Optical representative stated on the phone together: I will make sure the store is informed to give you an additional price discount since you went through this particular issue where internet disconnected and you have to go again. Alright, thanked the girl who was helpful and understanding but did not call the store (I am guessing). Never received a price discount but it's okay. We do the exam and then for next Saturday (January 30, 2021) I had to come and see again the same individual to show me how to put my contact lenses on. I come in, wait for the guy who surprisingly did not show me but made another gentleman who I did not know do his job. Again, reasons that I do not know. At the end, I want to say that you have lost me as your costumer but please you must understand that many people out there see you as their first choice to stop by their eyesight. Behave good and treat them well because you are not paying us for those exams, we are.
Caitlin was extremely helpful. She was always attentive and helped me understand why certain options were better than others for my particular prescription. She got me into not only one pair with an extremely light lense, but two for less than what I budgeted. Even when there was an issue with one of the frames I bought, she helped me pick out something else that would work better for my needs and replaced the old pair. I would recommend seeing her to all my family and friends because of how well I was treated and how knowledgeable she was on my particular prescription.
I have several problems with the lenses and the frame, but talking with Ashely, the sales manager was the solution to my problem.! She was very professional and took good care of my lenses and the frame. She has excellent customer service skills!! Thanks

The store manager, Kyle, was a pleasure to work with! I had a few issues with my glasses, and after showing him the problem with the nose pads, he quickly went to work fixing them. Unbeknownst to me, he actually completely replaced both! It took no time at all and he did it at no charge. He was happy to help and I was beyond grateful. I haven’t had any problems since! Wonderful store with very helpful staff, like Kyle!

Horrible experience! Glasses are completely unwearable. You can never get the right view out of them. I got anti-glare & a few other things but they were STILL awful. I would never ever recommend anyone going there & they even conned me into doing a family deal thing. Such a waste of money.

Walked in on a busy Saturday afternoon without an appointment. The eye doctor was very pleasant and seemed to do a thorough eye exam. There were so many pairs of frames to chose from and literally every single one was "affordable". For anyone who has been to a place such as Lens Crafters, you understand that glasses with any type of designer label on them can break the bank, but at Stanton the prices ranged from $45.00 up to about $200.00 with plenty of great options on both ends of the scale. In a few years I will come back for more!

NEVER AGAIN Hands down, the worst optical store I have ever dealt with. I ordered the 2 for 1 special on eyeglasses, which were promised in 2 days. The glasses weren't ready for over 2 weeks. One frameless pair broke after one week. I took the remaining pair to another optician who determined that the anti-reflective coating, which I'd paid an extra $29 for, was not even applied.

Clean, organized, and extremely helpful facility! Not only were they able to get me in quickly but Kyle helped me through the entire process. Explained to me in detail what my stigmatism was and explained that it had gotten worse, I only needed contacts but I will be going out of my way to come here for glasses. I’ve been nearly blind my entire life so the eye doctors is something I loath going to. For the first time I won’t look at getting an eye exam as a chore! Very affordable, very quick, extremely helpful! If I could give it more stars I would!

Wrong Prescription and Poorly Made Glasses everytime!!!!! If I could give no stars, I would. The glasses are cheap and if you have any kind of metal on your frames, they will rust and turn green and then turn your skin green! Their glasses break easily and they always give me the wrong prescription!!! I gave them too many chances. Walmart Eye Center, here I come!

Stopped coming here because you don't actually see the doctor- just a technician on the TV screen. Can't see out of the glasses I got here and the lenses are cheaply made and peeled within a month or two. It has been over a year since I was last there I'm now getting texts about an order ready for pickup. Calling the number listed sends you to a call center, not the actual store.
Horrible experience first of all this lady who I'm not sure who she was did an eye exam on me having me look at the letters on the wall with the door blocking then I tell her maybe we should shut the door she go yeah sometiimes it does get in the was then she proceeds to having me read this card with letters how I would normally read covering my eyes with some type of lens but I could because had the sleeves of cape sweater in the way. So after the exam Is done she said oh you have no problem seeing distant I say no it's not to bad then she say ok I have a script for you . Okayyy not saying if my vision changed from last script . Obviously it did because that's why I was there but she said absolutely nothing went and sat down on waiting area watching TV..

I had a great experience at the Tonawanda, NY location. My glasses were ready 20 minutes after I chose the frames. All staff was polite and helpful, Ray Calhoun was my Salesman. He wasn't pushy, helped me stay close to my budget, nice fellow.
Just left this location. Great place to go. I called this morning to make an appointment for my daughter and myself. They got us in an hour later. Then the assistant manager Chris Moerman helped us pick out new glasses. He was wonderful. Would definitely recommend him and this location!

Everyone was super nice, and I was out within 45 minutes. I was caught off guard that the eye exam was done virtually with the doctor on the other end. This was my first time here so I am not sure if this is always the case or because of covid. There was an assistant to do a few tests. But the eye exam was done completely virtual with the doctor on a TV screen in the corner.
Lana at the Tonawanda, NY location was amazing. She stepped into action to help my daughter and i when there was a mixup with her insurance. They were amazing, the entire staff!!! My sons glasses so flimsy. They broke we brought them in and they replaced them, 2 days later broke again in the same spot. Now my son has had glasses since he was very young and he knows how to handle them. The frames are not up to par to what we paid for. We will be coming back in for another frame since we are under warranty. But get heftier frames!

I've taken my daughter who is 6 years old to Stanton optical on Sheridan Dr in Tonawanda, NY. There was a young lady named Ashley who was VERY child friendly and made my daughter feel so comfortable and at ease. She did an amazing job prepping us for the doctor and she also took the time to help us pick out glasses. Another woman by the name of Leah assisted us after that and she was wonderful! She was able to meet my financial limit. These two ladies were amazing to work with and I will most definitely return to Stanton optical in hopes that I can work with them again!!!

I took my grandson for a very much needed eye exam. Stanton Optical did a very thorough eye exam and prescribed glasses that have made a huge difference for him. Knowing I was overdue for my own eye exam, I booked one with Stanton and through the very precise help I received from Ray, I have contact lenses that work better for me than any I’ve ever been prescribed, by previous eye clinics. I'm writing this review for my 76 year old mom whom was here from Rochester. I was INSTANTLY shocked at the level of care and professionalism we were met with from arrival. It's sometimes hard with an older client and people get frustrated and it shows. The level of respect and care given to her by the optometrist as well as the General Manager was the top notch. I really can't even define in words how amazing every person we encountered there was. Not only will I recommend every person I see to go here, I will write reviews on every outlet I can to get the word out. Professionalism and genuine compassion in customer service had been a lost art until we had our experience here yesterday. You guys are the BEST OF THE BEST. Not to mention she received 2 beautiful and perfectly prescribed pair of glasses for 1/3 the cost she's ever paid for a single pair. Anyone whom is shopping around for an eye care center, GO HERE!!!

I ordered glasses on June 15th. I called to see if they were ready they told me they were delayed due to a quality control issue til a later date. That turned out to be a lie cuz they weren't ready that date and when I called again they said they were waiting on the frames and that they'd be ready by another date. They were not ready on that date and this time a manager was supposed to call me. I received no call and my date for receiving my glasses is now August 3rd. All together I've been told by Stanton Optical that my glasses were going to be ready June 30th, July 7th, July 21st, July 30th, and August 3rd. I will never get my glasses. EDIT: I've called customer service 5 times, asked to speak to a manager, they say they'll call me back. Then I never hear from them and nothing is resolved. There service is complete garbage.
I went there this morning because one of the screws on my glasses kept popping out. I left there about 5 minutes later with fixed glasses! They put in a bigger screw,cleaned and adjusted my glasses and that was it. No charge! I bought these from them but they were not obligated to fix them for free. Great service!

Prior to my cataract surgery, my eyeglass experience had only been for sunglasses with a distance prescription. I called Stanton Optical and quickly got an appt. for that very day. I arrived, was quickly checked in and my insurance coverage was verified. Then I met Chris, one of their opticians; he listened to what my reading needs and usage were. He helped me to figure out the type of eyeglasses that would work best for different situations. We found the frames that suited (there was an awesome amount to choose from) and all along Chris made me aware of what my insurance would cover. Based on my appointment with Stanton Optical and especially, Chris; I would certainly recommend this company to anyone needing eyewear. This was a great experience and helped to make my day better. I have been to the Tonawanda location several times over the past 2 months and I have to say that from the very first time I walked into the store, the customer service was excellent! Ashley, Buck, and Lana were all so friendly and professional and helpful. Over the next few weeks, as I was back in the store 3 or 4 more times, each time I was greeted warmly and was helped by every person in the store. They each were so friendly and patient. Buck and Lana are overwhelmingly warm and personable --- and both went out of their way to help me. Lana even went out of her way to get me a very big discount, because I wasn't satisfied with one of my orders. I never asked her to do that - she went and did it on her own and it was such a nice surprise! They even let my daughter walk around the store and clean all the sample eyeglasses! (This is fun for a nine year old!) I had some glitches with the eyeglasses themselves, but this has happened at other places. What I've never gotten from other places is this kind of customer service!

My husband and I recently purchased glasses at your Tonawanda, NY store. Optomitrist Ray Calhoun was wonderful! He was very patient, professional and made sure our new glasses were perfect. He even had my husband come back when his 1st 2 pairs weren't just right. Thank you, Ray! However, the store was not as neat and tidy as it has been in the past. It looks like the windows haven't been cleaned in years, there was trash in the parking lot and weeds all around. I know there's a pandemic going on but I'm sure your could find someone to clean and weed! Some of the glasses on the racks were backwards and dirty. You have great people and great selections. Clean up the inside and the outside of the store and you'll have a great store, too!

I cannot recommend this business at all. After seeing all the ads "$69.00 two pairs of glass and eye exam" i thought what could i lose. I explained what i wanted to no less than 4 people on my 1st visit and the price came out to over $700.00. i complained and they lowered it to $278.00. I wanted glasses for reading and close up work, nothing more. When i returned to pick up my order the glass we for driving and reading. I was told that my requirement was unusual and i agreed that is why i explained in detail to all your staff of my requirements. another eye test and this person was a professional and did the testing perfectly. upon my return for the 3rd time The had adjusted my glasses for reading but not close up work. it takes me several hours to go here and i was not offered a full refund, but i indicated i was not leaving and they gave me a full refund. i will be shopping online as i only need glasses for magnification.
Have to give one star, would prefer to give zero. After calling and being told they accepted my insurance, gave them my daughter's insurance card at the desk, and asked again that they took it, I was still charged the regular price. My daughter has vision insurance. Was repeatedly told they took our insurance. They also advertise 2 for 1 but you only have a choice of maybe 15 frames. Will NEVER go back. Sears takes our insurance, is honest and the selection is much better.
I picked up 2 pairs of glasses, Kyle neither checked them for fit or asked if they were comfortable, Kyle also never measured the bows of the Eyewear to the backs ok my ears, and told me how I saved 900 plus dollars on top of my 614 dollar bill, not happy at all would never refer them

Best eye doctor i have been to since moving back to New York! Chris was extremely helpful and was great with my son. My son was able too find two pairs of frames he’s excited to show off at school this year. Very thorough and a great experience overall, everyone was friendly and very professional.
