My mother is staying directly next door at Linhaven. She needed new proper fitting glasses and she suffers from dementia. I explained this to them, made an appointment, brought her over in a wheelchair it couldn't of gone any better. They were very helpful, accommodating and made the visit very unstressful. It couldn't of worked out any better. They fitted her with a proper fit and size of glasses for her needs. Thanks for a very pleasant and helpful experience all around.

Now that I've had some time to live and work with them, here's my review: They are awesome! I love the colour - thank you to the staff who worked with me on this choice. I truly got what I wanted out of my glasses, for the first time ever. They are as light as expected and it's life-changing to be able to get through an entire day without my face aching. The lenses are great - it's like a whole new world of clarity. I can see myself and the world much more clearly. They are like a new car for my face/eyes and I am very pleased.

We have shopped at speers a few times and its always the same story. They have great glasses and the Dr is a very nice guy but the rest of the staff always seem so stuck up until you make a $700 purchase. They also screwed up our billing to the insurance and told us they had done it when they had not. Great glasses but common guys....quit acting stuck up and rude.

I can't believe that there is this superior of a selection of glasses in St. Catharines! They're even better than the stores I went to in Toronto. I wish I'd found this place sooner. The glasses are *gorgeous* from all over the world and not the usual styles that you see everywhere. They carry really beautiful, unique glasses with only the best craftsmanship. Very fashion forward. Paul and Pat are both really nice and helpful and I didn't feel pressured at all. I'm in love with several pairs of glasses and will definitely be back!

Speer Opticians stands alone in Niagara as a distributor of premier designer frames. There's nothing that can even remotely compare in this area to what Paul and his team have to offer. All of the staff are extremely friendly, professional and have the expertise to get just the right look for you. I first stepped foot into Speer back in 2008 and the thought of shopping anywhere else for frames has never crossed my mind since. The only problem you'll encounter shopping here is they have such amazing and unique frames you'll want to buy new glasses even when you don't need them! I just purchased my 6th pair from them today and couldn't be happier. As always, I look forward to doing business with Speer in the future.

My odd prescription was so well balanced in my new glasses. You have to go there to check them out - I travelled 3.5 hours to be a client!

I wrote a review earlier and was asked if I could remove it. The following story is exactly as it happened and I will ask you the readers to form your own conclusion. Is this good customer service or would you feel a bit taken for granted ? I purchased these glasses in Feb. 2019 paying $1450.00 for Lindberg frames and Zeiss lens. This is the most I have ever paid for glasses ,my expectations were high . In October 2021 I decided to visit the Speer store in St Catharines with a problem. I was having difficulty cleaning the lenses . The lenses were inspected and I was told the lenses had crazed meaning the film had lifted from the lenses and this was causing hazy visibility. I asked what caused this and was told that it could be a sudden blast of heat or that the glasses might have come in contact with extreme heat that could be created if the glasses were left in a car on a hot summer day. I was told that they could be returned to Zeiss for another opinion , they were and I received the same feedback, crazed. I was then told that the lenses were no longer covered by the warranty and that I would then have to pay for the replacement lenses but that the owner would speak to the rep to see what might be done to reduced the price . I was also told to write Zeiss explaining the situation, this might help get a reduced price on the replacement lenses. I was disappointed because I was told that Zeiss had not control over these things and it was the store’s responsibility to resolve the issue. I was then told by the store that the best that could be done was a 50% reduction on the retail price because that is all Zeiss was willing to do. The price of the replacement lenses was $425.00 . I told the store that I thought I didn’t have a choice and was told by the owner that if I didn’t like it he was sorry but that was all that could be done and we would go our separate ways. I then said I have know choice and if I wanted to be able to see clearly I would have to order the replacement lenses on their terms. . Please note that there is a warranty of 2 years on Zeiss lenses ,I don’t recall being told this but was assured I had been. I felt the warranty should be increased because the store was not always available during Covid. This was rejected by the store. I have paid $425.00 for the new lenses but feel my experience was not satisfying. I have written this review because I have read nothing but positive experiences and was wondering if those that might have had poor experiences were asked to remove these reviews as I was.

For the first few months I was back in the store for problems at least half a dozen times. They were never fixed and a year later I have to say it was the worst thousand dollars I ever spent. Glasses do not fit and believe when I tell you I tried to have it addressed. Lens are the worst I have ever had. I see all the positive reviews and wonder how this experience has happened.

We have all heard the saying " we get what we pay for". For Paul Speers every customer gets nothing less than the best service and products. Paul does not just take a pair of frames off a rack send them away to have lenses installed ....Speers takes to time to consult and advise you of the options personally suited to you and your lifestyle. At Speers they know your glasses will define your personality. I am hard on glasses, I wanted something very stylist that could take abuse like me stepping on them. Speers recommended Lindberg glasses and he was right. After 40 years of wearing glasses, never have I had such a good fit, and i dont feel like i have them on. They are light weight, able to take hard abuse, so stylish that EVERYONE compliments me. I cannot think of a better description than AMAZING. I recommend you just visit Paul Speers, he owns the store it's not a franchise. He will provide you a free consultation. I'm certain you will be impressed. Stop in and tell Paul that Curt Harley recommends him.

The best selection of different and stylish frames. Excelent quality lenses and fantstic service from Paul and Pat. Pat did a wonderful job of showing me the expansive aray of frames and was honest on what looked good and what didn't suit my face. Ended up with exceptionally well suited & unique frames. The lens quality exceeded my expectations. Once you try a quality lenses you won't go back. I found both Paul and Pat to be very friendly and warm and I value the service they provided. If you love glasses and want quality and different, this is a must go to shop. Highly recommend!

I have been a customer of Speer Opticans for over 40 years. The service is and has always been excellent. Paul has an amazing inventory of frames and uses high quality lens suppliers such as Zeiss. I just replaced a pair of frames that brought me compliments on an almost daily basis. Although they were close to 10 years old they remained in style. The lenses were replaced during that time as required . I am very pleased with the care taken during the fittings of my "special" lenses requirements. THANK YOU Paul, Sara and Andrea's.

Last week I broke my frame on my distance glasses. I am waiting for cataract surgery and did not want to get new glasses for a few months. My friend advised me to try Speer. When I dropped by, the owner Paul was as friendly and nice as can be. I explained what I was there for and he took my info and said the glasses would be ready the next afternoon. I picked them up the next day and the price was very reasonable and I was able to buy a new glass case that I needed. The lovely young sales girl showed me new sunglasses and I was thrilled with the choices. Lots of bling so I will be sharing that info, with my friends and family. It is hard to find a place with so many pieces in stock. Great place, super staff and owner. I would go back there again in a heartbeat.

WOW!! Sarah was incredible- she really has a wealth of knowledge and experience and helped to find a great pair of glasses that I think are perfect. I find the entire process of getting glasses very daunting. Sarah made it easy!! Speer is the right place to find great glasses and very expert help and service. I will never go back to one of those "value" optical places!! If you want the best service, knowledge and choices for fabulous frames and lenses- do NOT miss Speer.
