I had a very negative experience at another optical provider and tried Economy on the recommendation of a friend. After hearing about my experience, they went above and beyond to be absolutely certain the glasses they made for me would be perfect in every way - and they are! Every aspect of my experience at Economy was exceptional, from the frame selection process to the measurements and fitting right through to the fitting and adjustments for my face when I picked my glasses up. Friendly service, quick turnaround for lenses and amazing prices. I ordered lenses for an older set of frames, and about a month later the arm fell off. I brought them in to see what could be done and they fixed them on the spot (temporarily - unfortunately I will need new frames). Highly recommend this place for the service alone but the quality and prices are amazing too.

Whenever I had any questions or needed any help with adjustments with my glasses from them (or even my older pairs), they were quick to help at no charge. They work fast too! You can tell they're appreciative of every customer. Prices are very fair, coupled with the customer service...I will continue making a special trip downtown to their shop. I went to Economy Optical to get a pair of FL-41 tinted glasses for migraines. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The selection was varied and had a good range of prices. I averaged about 4 migraines a week before I used the FL-41 filtered glasses. The first two weeks that I wore them I had 1 migraine. I highly suggest the FL-41 filter to anyone with migraine. They have changed how I experience the world in a profound way.

Economy Optical is rare thing in the big city, it's an old school family business with a thoroughly modern and excellent set of services and products. Isaac and his family are warm, professional and always a pleasure to work with. The location is great, right across from the College subway station. Prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend.

Really great place to get your frames! The people that work there are super friendly and really take the time to explain everything to you. They dont push you to buy anything either, which is always refreshing. I've purchased regular prescription glasses and recently purchased prescription sunglasses, love them both. I think the prices are average, not super cheap but also not super expensive. Would recommend!

The best Eyeglasses store downtown. This store is not only easy to get to as it is right off the college subway on the Yonge Line but it is the caring and patient staff that make the experience unforgettable. I have been coming to this store for close to 20 years. Albert is the main reason I often recommend this optical. He is extremely patient and knowledgeable in helping you chose the right frames for you. He does not push you into the high end luxury frames but tries to find a pair that flatters you instead. The selection is excellent ; there is a wide selection as well as high-end brands if this is what you are looking for as well. Prices are very reasonable. Recently, they are able to have the eye exams done in their premises which is always convenient. Albert and his wife will make the complicated experience of chosing the right pair of glasses and easy an easy one. I will keep recommending them to friends and family and you will do the same.

I am EXTREMELY happy with the service I have received. They definitely care for you and understand your needs. I was unlucky to break my frame and they were very helpful in helping me ordering new pair of glasses (as the frame could not be fixed) within my budget. Moreover, as my lenses are for astigmatism and I have to wait for 7-10 days till they arrive, they were able to help me fitting lenses from the broken frame to a cheap frame for a small price, which I can use as spare glasses. Just 15 minutes of work and I can see again :) Previously I was coming into big chain shops and they just don't care about you and don't want to help you if you have any problems and usually not giving you the best prices. Also, the frames and brands are so great there! If you want to spend a fair amount of money and have a SUPER-GREAT service, don't hesitate. Definitely my ultimate place for any future eyewear purchase!

Dr. Lisa and Isaac are amazing! They are very thorough, patient and informative. Isaac is like a computer with his knowledge of glasses. He can tell you anything you need to know about any single pair out of the many they have available. Friendly customer service and reasonable prices make this is a great store. However, the last time I bought a pair, it came to an even $200. They gave me a lens cleaner, which I did not ask for and was not in the bill. So, either they charged me for it without my consent or lowered the price to a round figure (unlikely!). It's better than several in Toronto and I will buy again but this time I'll ask.

I have been visiting Albert since 2002 when I first moved from Halifax. I was super nervous being in a big city and Albert and his family set me up in style. It is now 2019 and I still see Albert but this time I bring my wife, our 6 year old and my entire crew of friends. TL;DR Excellent service. Had an issue with my prescription, and it was resolved, without hesitation, by polite and kind staff/optometrist. Updated my glasses prescription next door. Large selection of glasses. Happy with my choice and price. Ready for pickup in a few business days. Then I started experiencing headaches and eye straining, so I went back to the store. I was anticipating a sort of awkward negotiation, but instead was met with courteous understanding. They had me set up with a repeat eye exam in minutes. The optometrist was also very patient and understanding. She had changes made to my lenses on the spot without hesitation, and I am now very happy with my glasses. Very pleased.

Edit - just came back to say that I am consistently happy with continuously bringing my business here. I am, thankfully, no longer a student on (as tight of a...) budget, and as my glasses needs develop, economy optical always has something to offer. Beyond the lenses and frames, these are great people to the core. After purchasing and returning several glasses from other stores, I found economy optical. Their prices are very fair and the service I received was unparalleled. Isaac was incredibly knowledgeable and guided me through every step of getting both new lenses for my frames and an additional set of sunglasses. I am a student on a budget, but I was treated as if I was purchasing top of the line glasses. There were no pushy sales tactics, they only offered what I need and I am thankful for that. Highly recommended.

This is THE place to go for glasses! It's like going to a shop in the 50s (so I've been told) in terms of customer service. Even with covid restrictions, they manage to offer customers a personalized experience and you can tell they really take pride in their service. There was a slight complication with my insurance but they expertly sorted it out and were very clear with what I needed to do, and we still did the fitting- I appreciated the respect I was shown! Emily helped me select the PERFECT frames. There was an overwhelming selection, but after telling her what I was looking for - BOOM, the 1st pair she suggested were a home run! She knows her stuff! They are very informative but you never feel they are upselling and putting pressure on you. Forget getting a pair online, go here to get the PERFECT pair of glasses! You will not be disappointed! I purchased a few different progressive lenses over the last few years and am very happy with the recommended option from this store. I have tried a few brands (Nikon essilor and even zeiss). The higher-definition progressive offered has really made an impression on me right from the first wear. I highly recommend looking at this optical and what they offer in terms of frame selection and lenses. 5/5 on quality and 5/5 on service. Thank you to the two saleswomen helping me select my frame.

I stumbled on this place by going in to fix my sunglasses. They fixed the arm of the sunglasses and didnt charge me which was nice ... so i decided to go back. I spent tons of time with this younger gentleman as there were a few people there to see the older one (main guy) and he helped me before. I am really picky, but i found something i loved and there didnt seem to be any pressure to buy anything. They are exactly what i wanted and much less expensive (MUCH) from other comparable places... I really dont get lenscrafters.......anyways. I recommend this place. Have been back once to tighten the arms a bit 6 months after buying them and still perfect customer experience and complete backing of their product 'any issues come back to see me'. I think you should check this place out if you need new frames.... dont waste your time with lenscrafters.

I love this place! Excellent service and very affordable prices. Discovered this little gem last summer when Lenscrafters wanted to charge me $800 for a pair of prescription sunglasses. Instead I bought a pair of Guess sunglasses, and brought them to Economy Optical for the lenses to be replaced. The gentleman there (whom I believe is named Albert), patiently explained to me the process of lens replacement, as well as helped me find the best lenses for my prescription (I have a very high prescription and the lenses are usually very thick). After everything, my sunglasses only came to $300, and they are incredibly sturdy and well-made! Albert is so incredibly helpful and is always available to take a look at my glasses if I go to him with any problems. I just dropped off another pair of glasses this morning to get prescription lenses fitted--they're only charging $150! Would highly, HIGHLY recommend this place if you want top notch service and quality products!

This place is amazing!! They have a terrific selection of frames - it's incredible. Their prices are very, very competitive. I have a very high plus prescription and am normally not comfortable wearing my glasses in public. They worked with me to get 1.74 Nikon lenses at a terrific price. Bonus is that they are so patient and thoughtful when helping you select frames. I just picked up my glasses today and couldn't be happier. I wore them (and a smile) on the subway, all the way home. Highly, highly recommend!

Tried this place and I'm glad I did. They have a massive selection of styles and brands... unlike others that have maybe 5 frames. I can't believe the service I got from the minute I walked in. My bad!! I'm very late giving this review. I shopped at Economy Optical in August of 2018 and Isaac and the rest of the staff were very very helpful and knowledgeable. I am a horrible shopper and quite indecisive however Isaac was extremely patient with me and assisted me in finding the perfect pair of glasses for my needs. I also decided to go with the new prescription lens in my old frames so as to have a second pair of glasses handy. Isaac gave me a wonderfully reasonable price for this second transaction. My experience with the staff at Economy Optical was brilliant.

Dropped off my frames on a Friday to get new lenses put in. They were done by Tuesday! For my very high prescription, I was pleased to find out that it was only $200. I was quoted $300-500 at several other places in the area. Very fast and professional service! Will be coming back!

“Economy” is a good name for this “business”. You basically “get what you pay for” here and they seem above critique. TERRIBLE/childish customer service (the mother and son especially - the father (Albert) is wonderful).
