Overpriced. So naturally I expected good service when I went to try to exchange something with no receipt. So obvious it was their product, but their “manager” who was no where to be found, denied my exchange. Won’t be back sorry. Nice foyer when entering with seating. Pond with fish in the back of the store. Overall a great place for everything outdoors you need.

Great place for all your fishing, hunting and outdoor needs! We bought all of our new fishing rods and a huge saltwater rod and the prices were fantastic. They always have lots of sales and they products they offer from clothing to cookware, hunting gear to ice fishing huts, there is something for everyone of all ages who enjoys the great outdoors. The staff are kind, personable and knowlegable about the products they sell and you can always locate an employee quickly if you have any questions. Totslly reccomend this place if you want a nuce taste of outdoorsy and hunting gear.

So, Bass Pro taking over Cabelas was a baaaad idea. This store is heavy on the non-hunting clothing and the actual selection of hunting gear is limited. RedHead brand is not as good as the Cabela's brand clothing/gear. Is this the end of cabelas?

Had most everything in the sports line. Clean store good layout. Cash registers don't seem to work very well. Two open, with one tied up with one customer for an eternity while several employees tried to find the problem. Other cash slowly handled the customers. Wouldn't hurt to open another in these circumstances.

Asked one of the people working at the front to see if someone could give me a hand lifting into my SUV and they looked at me like i had two heads. Then told me to bring the low deck cart back inside when done so they can put it out back again. Lazy employees makes me sick..

It's a Bass Pro Shop, how can it not be a 5 star. This store is dog friendly, the staff were so nice and welcoming. Our dogs love to visit the dog toy section to pick up a treat after getting our annual picture with Santa.

Stopped by on a recent visit to Dartmouth. Not quite as much selection as some of the larger USA Cabelas/ bass pro shops, but it still has a good variety. However, the sole purpose of the visit was to get a kids bass pro ballcap and there was very little selection compared to the online shop. Most likely a popular item, but it was a bit of a disappointment.

I luv our outdoor supply store... Yes, it's a niche store, but as a camper, hiker, hunter or fishing person, they have something to fill the need/want. Tools and equipment, clothing etc... Their prices are right on with competitive markets, and often have sales that save a few $. The popular items go fast, so it shows that they have what people need and want. The staff are awesome, having a good knowledge of their products. I purchase any licenses needed at this location, and the staff are always professional, courteous and pleasant. Thanks for being our outdoor store ????

This was more then I was expecting when I walked through the doors this store is amazing if you love the outdoors this place has everything and more from fishing to hunting to camping to the clothing you would need to do it all plus toys for the kids this place was awesome nice and clean well organized lots of helpful staff to assist you in your purchases if there's something not right here I didn't find it I was even amazed buy the prices very reasonable which left us very pleased with our purchases and we will be back for sure looking forward to our next visit I just wish it wasn't 3 1/2 hours away ????

Front door staff was helpful but the floor staff we asked questions to was rude and very unhelpful. COVID spacing was a joke. The retail displays were so close together and getting around was a maze. I couldn’t even exit without getting too close to people because the walkways through the displays were so narrow. And the only way to exit is through a narrow customer till/aisle. We were looking for some information about bows and we’re told very rudely that the archery people aren’t in and no alternative or additional information about when to come back was given. Condescending and made us feel so uncomfortable. Very disappointing for such a beautiful store. Clearly not concerned about customer service, we will be taking our business elsewhere.

It’s a good store for things hunting and fishing but beware of warranty issues. I bought some lifetime warranty socks which got a hole in them. I called the head office and they told me that they don’t have that product anymore but to take it to the store and they would give me another product. Went to the store and I was told they don’t do it anymore. I explained about calling head office and how I made the trip in store but all the clerk said was sorry. Bought the socks with a lifetime warranty that apparently is only a five year warranty after the fact. Very sad and misleading. Too bad the clerk was unhelpful and they don’t stand behind their product. **Edit** I contacted Bass Pro/Cabela’s and received an email offering to send me a replacement for the socks. They arrived a few days later. I appreciate them reaching out to make things right, but it would have been better to give me $10 socks at the store and honour their warranty. I adjusted them up one star.

I feel like it was not as impressive as the one that closed down in Moncton which doesn't make sense I guess Moncton wasn't good location. However the quality of the equipment that they have is top-notch the Prices range from low to very high. The winter clothing and hunting section was fantastic probably the best part again great price range great service however at times there are a lot of people working but not many on cash and the lines will tend to get long and you may have to wait an extra couple of minutes if you're okay with that definitely hit it up.

It doesn't adjust to Canadian dollars. Otherwise great experience.

First time here ever...came for Santa photos and this place is magical. Friendly atmosphere and the decor is larger than life. My toddler absolutely had an incredible time looking at all the staged wildlife and life size fish tank. The best COVID Santa photo set up I've seen.

I went into this store for the first time today. I was looking at possibly buying a new .22 rifle and ended up buying because the staff were so helpful at the firearm counter. The gun I purchased was at a great price and they removed the scope on it as I wanted a different one. They reduced the price accordingly and I didnt have to ask them to. They went out of their way to talk to me and be personal and just made it a good buying experience. The salesman took me around picked up the ammo I wanted and answered every question I had without hesitation. He also took me to the counter to get a reward card so that this purchase would count towards it. This is how customer service should be and I'll definitely be back because of it. Thanks guys! See you when my sling comes off.

I'm fairly new to fishing in Nova Scotia, it's very different to where I'm from. I called and spoke with the fishing department here about how I might be able to catch some Chain Pickerel, they put together a package of tackle for me, at a very affordable price I might add, and I ended up catching one that same day. Can't beat that service.

It's great to have a place like Bass Pro Shops in Halifax and I have been there multiple times. However they seem to routinely not have stuff in stock and their employees are unable to provide any idea when items may come in. As well, their cashiers are all young and under 18 which causes a problem when bone of them can ring in a restricted item. It took us 20 minutes for someone 18+ to be found to approve the sale.

As long as you're not terrified by taxidermy hunting targets, this store is as much a tourist attraction as it is a outdoorsman Superstore. It's a neat place to walk around and witness what hunters and fishermen will spend thousands of dollars on. My only disappointment was that the vast array of stuffed prey adorning the walls didn't hop up on their hind feet and start singing with animatronics like they would if this was a Disney store

I lost my wife and son in there 2 weeks ago and now I own a new deer stand & beach sun shelter... luckily, my wife got a whiff of my "Ima buy the whole store" scent and found me before choosing a boat and an ATV... This store is excellent in every way that matters: inventory, variety, product placement, customer service; even in its application of covid 19 safety measures. Store entry hand sanitizer available and easy to navigate directional floor markings and 6 foot spacing markers. I love this store so much! We had our dogs photo taken with Santa. They were excellent with her. The prices here are very good and the quality is excellent. This may be a new store, but the staff are super friendly and very knowledgeable. If they do not have an item in stock they get it in for you pretty fast. When they have something on sale it is actually in stock. I love the fact that they carry some if the larger sizes in almost every item. My husband is a big guy so having so many options with clothes that are 2xl-5xl means a lot. And they are in stock and not a special order

Always enjoy my visits here. Keep an eye on their flyers and you can get some pretty sweet deals. Free treats for your four legged hunting friend, and the kiddies can view a very large tank full of the fish in lake ontario. Certain days you can watch them being fed! If you are thinking of ordering anything from this store online think again. When I place my order the items were all in-stock. It two weeks to receive a bag of wood pellets. At the same time I order a can of spice and a smoker. The smoker and spice took over 4 weeks for me to get them. I will never use their online ordering again. I love the items they have but it will only be in-store shopping for. My spouse also ordered boots online and it took 3 week to receive.

Today was my first time out shopping since March 13th and Covid pandemic hit our province. Ventured into Cabelas with mask and the nice person at the door got us to wait outside first. When we were allowed to entered we had to hand sanitize but they were not enforcing people to wear a mask - I wish they would do that. Attached is the picture I was taking to better see the low price tag. After this rude disregard of customers , I replaced my planned purchases on the shelves and headed to your local competition. When we lived in Ontario, the closest store was over 90 minutes away. It's amazing having one so close to home now - we love Bass Pro; it is one of our favourite places! Such a huge variety of different products, for animal people, hiking people, nature people, hunting people, camping people - literally everyone can find something they love in this store. Some of our favourite departments are outdoor cooking - including cast iron, stuff for our dog, excellent attire for camping, and such unique giftware, especially at Christmas. It can get a bit confusing with sales and cross over between Bass Pro and Cabela's, but the staff are good at honoring prices between both. I find that the prices are higher than at other, similar stores, but the quality of items is excellent and they often have awesome sales. It's just a plus that doggos can come in!

Bland and boring is the only way to describe the store. If you've been to other Bass Pro and Cabela's stores then you know what I'm talking about. Has the feel that nothing was done to make the store stand out. Plant of knowledgeable staff and empty hooks. I always looked forward to the Bass Pro and Cabela's in Moncton, NB and now will only come here if I really need to. I'm very glad that I didn't go to the grand opening as it would have been a disappointing visit. I really wish that Bass Pro would have put more effort into making this store exciting and wish they would have kept Cabela's open.

Wow... So unlike the Moncton store. This is more like Walmart. Complete with the depressed staff greeting you at the door, leaning against a table, staring at their shoes. Just kids that likely don't even fish or hunt. No better than Canadian Tire if you're looking for help. One staff member was helping a customer, but they didn't know the product, just reading the label. What a shame. Go to Moncton, that is an experience!

For a brand new store that has just opened it's doors looking for new customers the customer service certainly was lacking on my first and maybe last visit there. So many employees just standing around and not one offered to assist as we stood there for 20 minutes looking at something we knew nothing about. They certainly can all POINT to where you need to go but not one offered to help!! Very disappointing to say the least.

I love the experience of this store, but the practicality is that unless things are marked down, you're going to pay a premium. If you're going there to buy a rifle or outfit your tack box, they're great. If you are going for camping gear, it's mediocre. The store is clean and the staff friendly.

This is my hubby's favorite store, wherever he goes in North America he has to find the nearest Bass Pro shop! The staff was friendly and very helpful, stock levels were generally good and we were able to get the majority of what we were after. Plenty of parking, only a handful of accessible parking spaces so if you have an accessible parking permit and need to park there you might be best to arrive just before opening time.

I bought a 300 dollar pair of ray band glasses from this location with a 1 year warranty. The person I purchased the glasses from took down all my information. 2 months later the arm snapped off and I called in to find out about the warranty and I'm being told I need the receipt or they cant do anything even though it took him 10 minutes to take down information but apparently they cant look that up. What a waste of time and money. Will not be returning to this franchise. Like they don't make enough money they have to screw me over on top of it

Although there are some good prices, all online pricing is in USD It does NOT mention that anywhere! Any company operating a brick-&-mortar store in Canada should HAVE to have Canadian pricing online. Was told by staff to check Cabela's for Canadian pricing, but they do show a Cabela's store in Nova Scotia so there is no way to check inventory. Shady business practices as most of N.S. does not live in HRM so online is a necessity. driving for 3 hours only to find out that the $300 product is $500 in-store is frustrating at best.

This is an awesome store packed with a wide range of interesting products. They do sell guns and other hunting equipment, but it is definitely with a visit even if you don’t hunt. They have a large selection of outdoor clothing, camping gear, food and cooking equipment. There are certain a lot of items that you could buy elsewhere, but there are also a lot of items that you can’t get at any other store in Atlantic Canada.

We were told that an item we were looking for was in stock, but when we came in they had none in stock and had any in to begin with. Aside from that the store has some serious creep factor with all of the real stuffed animals being showcased attacking each other all over the store. I counted 15 in just one cluster, absolutely creepy.

Super fun! Had a great little toy section for both girls and boys! They also have an incredible Santa booth! Great prices and such an amazing set up. Santa has a real beard and is so good with the kids. The staff do a great job getting the kids to smile and look at the camera. They also get a candy cane and a treat of some sort. There are reasonable priced purchase options from 5 to 20 bucks and it's really a great bargin.They print while you shop. Took about 5 mins for them to do. Clothes and footwear were very nice quality. So soft and warm. I added a few items to my Christmas list like the 2 pack slipper socks for 25 bucks! Worth the trip for sure.

Best Amazing Customer Service ever. Outstanding People Where do I begin! This is a long one my friends. Here is two experiences.... June 2021. I'll start with the biggest and best thing that is closest to my heart.... I am mask exempt (I have a Canada government badge, which I sadly feel the need to display for others(roar), however, even with it at other stores, I still usually get asked if I have one, will wear one!!!! Or I am segregated from entering entirely). The lady at the door smiled(its hard to tell but you get the idea) and welcomed me in, and every single employee smiled at me and looked me in the eyes! and from what I felt held no judgement. This alone made me feel like the shopping experience was excellent ( it should be standard procedure but Mask mandates are all dropping anyways) Now, everything else. I was helped by someone in almost every section they have that I went to! I went to several! I'm an over preparer. I asked a ton of questions lol! and they gave informed answers, showed to me and explained the selection and alternatives. Everyone was so nice. Anyways, I got a ton of stuff and happily cashed out. The cashiers were timely and offered me a points card and if I wanted to donate(which I declined the points card on my own terms but they offered). Good job. ------ Now, the second experience. After the last visit I returned a few weeks later with the huge hiking backpack I got. After realizing it just couldnt possibly work(my own bad), the wonderfully helpful Shawna was able to find my receipt through the system even though I paid with cash! (I never expected to return anything so I tossed my receipt) I rattled off all the other items I had bought that day and gave her the total and all sorts of other info that obv no one could just guess) I was amazed their system could find it. Super cool. Up until this 2020, I use to work in retail and usually the systems cant find cash receipts without internal investigations and all that. So again, she found it within I think 5 mins! Good for her. Anyways, because she was able to do that, I was able to get the full original amount I paid back on a gift card(that backpack just went on sale! I was worried I'd lose over 100$!), which I was not really expecting to be able to return and was mostly just inquiring with hope lol but I was ready to have to accept that I wouldnt be able to return it at all.... which I would have sadly understood. (No receipt, no return is fair.) It was alot of money and never used so it would have really sucked to have to sell it online and someone offer 1/3 the price or something silly. Anyways. Idk who hires the people at this location but keep up the good selection! Whatever your standards are, it's working! Most retail peoples ideology is minimum wage, minimum effort but not here. Oh and the store is always very clean and tidy too. Which even before 2020, I very much appreciated. Long story over. Short story.... BEST Bass Pro Shop!

Being from Newfoundland I only get to the Dartmouth Cabelas two or three times a year while visiting my son. It’s always the first place I want to go. Fantastic store, with all the equipment and clothing an outdoorsman needs. And as a bonus, everybody working there are extremely friendly and helpful.

I love going to this store and looking at everything... it's a relaxing spot to go to... I love seeing new ideas about fishing and hunting and they have every size imaginable. The biggest Bass Pro Shop I've seen with the widest and largest selection available. It seems endless once you get inside. Plus this has the best taxidermy natural scenes anywhere. With the grand fish tank display in the center, can easily waste a few hours taking it all in!

I've made a special trips in to the Bass Pro Shop in Dartmouth Crossing for items in their sales flyer. I've been disappointed three times in a row now, wasting an hour and a half each time and they don't provide rain checks. This store is not well stocked and had numerous empty shelves even before Covid19, so that excuse doesn't work for me.

An absolutely ideal experience. I am completely new to archery, and the gentleman in the archery department offered help, walked me through everything that I needed to purchase and know about the bow and equipment, then had another employee set up my bow and teach me how to shoot arrows in the range. He was extremely helpful and stood by my side giving me assistance for as long as I needed it. He allowed me to shoot about 20 arrows before I finally said I was comfortable, and would have allowed me to shoot even more. They even cut my arrows for me immediately as well. Thank you to the wonderful staff in the archery department!

The store is understandably busy BUT should be better prepared for influx of people. Shelves are low with inventory. Today I took my son in and we waited in a huge line only to have gentleman infront of us wait for a ridiculous amount of time for a manager to ring through a knife because the cashier wasn't old enough to ring it through (WHAT!) lol, probably working in the wrong store. He waited for manager forever and then let us through, I had a Cabelas gift card and the cashier said the manager would have to switch it to a bass pro card. So both of us sat on the side line waiting and we both eventually gave up and left with nothing. Very unprepared! I will shop online for now on and take advantage of the free ship to store.

This is an updated review as the relationship with Cabelas has changed. Store is well organized and staff are helpful and friendly. You can now order from Cabelas and pick up in store at this Bass Pro which is a big plus so I have changed my rating from 3 to 4 stars. Downside is you cannot track the order and, as there is no Bass Pro Canadian Site, you can’t check in store stock without calling or just going to the store.

Looking for some braided fishing line, so I visited the site. Punch in our local store in Dartmouth. Look at several options on sale, with several between 11-15 bucks. Local store has several in stock. Go the store and none of said lines are on sale and the prices on the so-called Canadian site were in US funds. The cheapest line they had was 31 bucks. What a waste of time. Would like to support some local employees, but not in this case. I'll order online next time. Service and helpfulness was fantastic, thus the 2 stars for that.

I have really tried to like this place. I was really looking forward to cabelas coming here. And when Bass pro bought them out, I thought awesome. Best of both worlds. First "hybrid" store they said. Everything I go I have to check the Cabelas flyer because they don't have the same sales and get them to price match. Seems ridiculous to me that I have to do this. Feels to me lime they are just ripping off the people that didn't bother to check. And then I have to go through the hassle of getting someone to do that. Which can be easy or a pain depending on which employee you get. When I ask why I get the answer " well we're a Bass Pro Shops, not a Cabelas." Well it says Cabelas on a massive sign on the front of your building. This store is not going to last here unfortunately. I give it 1 more year, maybe 2. Unless they change the way they're operating and bring more of the cabelas experience back into it.

Always great to visit a Cabelas store. It's been a while unfortunately. Just needed a couple T handles for my Yeti cooler. Took my 16 yr old daughter who hates the thought of anything being hunted lol but they had the free 4x6 Halloween photo going on so we had to do that. We told the person we both wanted to apply. She processed my points card and then walked away, forgetting my friend. When I called for her to come back as she was walking away, she kept going. I dropped by the Dartmouth store to pick up some rods on sale for my brother that lives out of town. They had just been unloaded from the truck and not recorded in the system yet. The assistant manager Crystal, was the contact person that had ordered the rods for my brother. Subsequently, Crystal has a true passion for her job and went above and beyond, to expedite things to get me the rods. She even managed to get myself one of the rods that I had not ordered. Whenever I am in the store and Crystal is around, she remembers me and always has such a pleasant disposition and is so willing to accommodate me. Two thumbs up to Crystal and her well trained team, for all their efforts on each and every visit!

FIVE STARS for the hunting department very helpful staff in the hunting section, I had the department manager spend around half an hour with me explain various different hunting tactics for phases of the rut as I was new to it. Very impressed with his advice! However, I always find that the Archery department is not so organized and helpful, still waiting on back ordered arrows that they promised to call me immediately about. Ones I’ve seen in store since.

What an amazing store has everything that you'd ever need for hunting and fishing and everything. However, went and looking for a pair boots with the wife and the lady that was working at the footwear section couldn't care less if we bought a pair of shoes or not. It was almost the point of her being rude. With a dying retail industry and a push to online, you would think that customer service would be among your top priority. However, the lady working with Santa Claus booth was amazing and was super friendly.
