The optometrist here is wonderful and did an amazing job but I ordered my contacts here as well and 3 weeks go by without them showing up, no one called me to tell me they were on back order or I would have purchased somewhere else seeing as I'm on my last pair and they have expired. Total lack of communication and ultimately care as eye sight is a basic human need and a requirement for daily function. I would not order from them again. Update* they ordered me some trials contacts to last me until the order comes in and I really appreciate how quickly they were able to help me fix this issue. Really good customer service

I received them today a simple 4 business days, and they look as good as I was told they did. We all know we can't *really* know how glasses look until we can see ourselves with them. Extraordinary Prices. Young Enthusiastic Staff. Only issue arises from the fine print in that if you do not fall into a specific prescription range you must pay a little extra. Dr Scholfield, the optometrist, is an absolute treat and the sales staff are helpful. Really no comparison to other glasses stores in Woodgrove. Highly recommend walking in to the store.

I had a very good experience with the people at Image in Woodgrove. Dr. Scholfield explained all the different tests and was quick to answer any of the questions I had. He was very attentive during the exam process and gave me plenty of time to be sure about which corrective lens was best. The guys who helped me choose some frames were great! They asked me if I needed help or just wanted to "do my process" which I very much appreciated as I tend to be a bit particular. They gave excellent opinions when I asked and helped me find the perfect frames. They explained the layout of the store and the location of the different frame types. Overall, I had a very positive experience with everyone at Image and will go back again.

First off I do not think this reflects on the optometrist . I believe his work was very good. So where does the bad review come from. 1. The staff is to inexperienced. - stumbling around and marking pupil positions and frame fittings by guess work. You pay hundreds and get messed up vision from immature staff. 2. They don't have computer expertise on the business systems. - They upgraded the systems and still use both. Then they can't find you in there OR like me they missed the new prescription and give you the OLD one that's a year old which means you will not see well. NOT GOOD FOR AN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIST ON THE JOB. I spent $1,400 - $900.00 in the past 3 weeks. I still can't read and the lenses are poorly done and have a glare on them so letters appear GLOSSY? SUMMARY. Professionals that do IT work on systems DON'T RISK THIS ITS NOT WORTH IT. Find a tried and true place where the staff is experienced and the lenses are properly treated. The motto of nothing is free and you get what you pay for is still the TRUTH. Save your eyes and go elsewhere.

I am genuinely surprised by the number of satisfied customers. Here is my experience: went in, ordered 2 pair of glasses, $800. One pair, a single vision got ready right way for a "small" fee of $35 and although usable on my computer work, if I don't remove them right away after, I get dizzy and nausea (odd!). The second pair, expensive, came in, not even close to be usable. When I asked to be adjusted, they told me that just the manager can fix it (very "knowledgeable" personnel) . I left them there and asked to be contacted when the manger is there for adjustment. No call back... Actually I went there 6 times, and I called about 10 times to get almost nothing. Eventually I asked for a refund and when I was told that just the manager can refund and I asked to talk to him, I was asked to leave and eventually they called the security (again odd!). Security personnel laughed and left when they came and figured out the situation. Later on I found out that THERE IS NO RETURN OR REFUND!!!! PLEASE MAKE YOURSELF A SERVICE AND DO NOT STEP IN THERE. WORST SERVICES IN MY LIFE. And I am not difficult to satisfy.

Selection of frames is great. I drove from Duncan and picked up my glasses and the prescription was incorrect. The guy asked if I had got my eyes checked there. Asked for my prescription again; which I provided a week before . He asked me to have my eye doctor send it again. He then found the fax and realized the prescription was entered wrong by himself. He the told me it would take 5 days again but quickly called me back and had the new correct lenses done in 30 minutes. With vision it is best to pay attention to detail!

Piss poor review for the equivalent customer service. Had an appointment set from two weeks ago, showed up 5 minutes early and was made aware I missed my time. Told repeatedly that I was wrong until I proved it with the card given to me at the time we booked. I get that people make mistakes but I felt little to no effort to make it right. Basically had an "oh well, not much we can do for you" response which is not sitting well with me at all. Your loss image, I'll take my family's business to someone who cares.

Ordered a simple pair of Rayban rimless glasses and got them in early January. Two weeks later: frame detaches from lens. The store does a simple fix - that lasts a day. I take them in to have them repaired again...and they sent them away. 'Usually a week' they said. That was late January. A month later....'order in transit' with no further details. No apparent local management. Just a shrug and the 'i am just a salesperson' line, with a promise to pass my concern on to the manager in another city. The glasses were not cheap...just cheaply made, and sold by a retailer who takes zero responsibility. Want good glasses and someone to stand behind them if there is a problem? Shop elsewhere.

I used the warranty (just scratched lenses) and it really is zero hassle. You bring them in, they confirm the issue, register the repair; I had the 1 pair back in 1 week and the other in 1.5 weeks! I really had a great young man helping me try on lots of different frames, who was very friendly, great and patient. I ended up buying my glasses frames called Prada which are from Italy, they are really good quality, and much better and more modern looking then my plastic frames I had bought from a different optometry place in woodgrove that needed to be constantly tightened. I also bought a pair of sunglasses as well with the promotion that was on and I think I got both for a pretty decent price. I also really like my eye doctor at Image!

On-site free eye examination, I'm a senior, followed by non-pressure sales assistance. Very competitive price for my glasses which were ready, as promised in 10 days. I waited with this review for a few days until I had to go back to have the nose pieces adjusted. This was done very professionally, in fact they changed the nose pieces for ones made of a different material. Again, great service with the request to return if I had any problems at all with the frames or lenses. Definitely 5 star in my book.Bill.

Excellent service, courteous staff. I ordered a pair of prescription glasses but when they arrived there was a proble. The staff were very understanding and sent them back to be remade. When the new pair arrived I took them home to try out but after a couple of weeks I couldn't get them to work as they should. Feeling somewhat embarrassed I took them back for the second time and they were happy to have the lenses remade. In less than a week they were back and performed perfectly. Very bad service!!! Sales staff would not listen when asked a question and would say yes. When had sale, every question that was a yes was a no. Free lenses only have a $20 value. Then sales staff is rude. My family left only to have another customer come and tell us how bad the service was they received. Wrote complaint to head office and CEO. Received zero response. Then I read these reviews... interesting they take the time to comment on EVERY positive review. More interesting is they do not have the customer service knowledge to resolve the issues with the people who have had bad service. Seems to me like they do not care about the customer. Do yourself a favour and go to a reputable company that values you as a customer and will tell the truth.

It had been over a decade since I last got glasses and a coworker recommended this place to me. Both the girlfriend and I went in for eye exams and new glasses. Right from the start, it was a good experience. The people were polite and prompt, cheeful and helpful. I found out I can't wear progressive lenses so they made me some bifocals with no issues or hassles. Had to do a warranty scratch repair and that was also flawless and easily taken care of. The best part is the price. What I paid for my full pair of glasses there, would have been the cost for 1 lens anywhere else. I am glad I went here and totally recommend to anyone do a needing glasses on a budget as they will work with you to make you happy and seeing things clearly again.

I was hoping to take advantage of the two pairs of glasses for $277. special deal but by the time I was done the price was over $700. I did choose the transition lens on one set and would expect to pay more for that but it seemed that there were so many add-on charges. Now after ten days my eyes have not adjusted to the glasses but have received several requests for a review so this is my story. The staff there is friendly.

From the ease of booking an appointment to getting my perfect glasses, it was a great experience in contrast to other companies of past. Awesome staff. While initially they seemed young, they were actually very knowledgeable and excited to help. A touch of today's style mixed with patience and understanding of customers wants and needs, lead to a quick selection of frames that were exactly what I was after and no time wasted. Dr. Scholfield was excellent. Experienced in practice and very engaging during the exam, explaining each of the steps he was taking very well and giving layman understandable results of each test. Peace of mind in knowing more than simply 'yep, your eyes are healthy'. The team worked with me to get the perfect fit and vision. I was still fine to drive and could read most print, so my vision was not horrible, however I can now see like an eagle (metaphore, but certainly feels so staring at a pebble 580 feet down my driveway). The cost was unbelievable. Around half the price of other places I had been and that includes all the extras I purchased not already included in their fantastic deal. Very happy customer and wallet. The best pricing and service for eyewear in Nanaimo. Knowledgeable staff and direct billing make getting new glasses here a breeze. I've purchased 4 pairs of glasses since they opened and had to use the warranty for a scratched premium lens once. I walked in with my scratched glasses and they had my replacement lens ordered in under 5 minutes. It arrived and was installed into my frame in under a week.

Bought and paid for my 2 set of lenses in July, we r now on Oct’/1 and still waiting for them to get them right, to top it up they said I only have 5 days left on the 90days to remake them if anything is wrong. I told them I have paid since July big bucks and I haven’t received them doe them to tell me this and they didn’t care. They give excuses but don’t care that they’ve taken the money but service hasn’t been given for a warranty or time for repairs to expire. On the customer side some are friendly, some are with attitude. I wouldn’t buy glasses here again, they’ve done this to me twice and I think that’s more than enough. Not worth it, and not taking responsibility with their issues rather they put it on the client to lose the time and warranty for mistakes to be redone and actually count FROM when the client actually gets the product paid for not to their convenience. 3 month and don’t have my 2 prs of glasses and giving me different excuses why is not done or that things are different now.

I have been in sales for aprox 30 years, and as a result, keenly aware of the quality of service anywhere I go. I have to say that I have had excellent service, consistently, at Image Optometry. Staff are very friendly and welcoming-and yet perfectly professional at all times. They have been quite knowledgable, making me think there must be a very good investment in training. The most important thing you can do for your business is hire great people. Then make sure that every visit is consistently great-so they wouldn't even think of going somewhere else. Have something enticing so that your customer base is always looking at your promo's. I got 2 pairs of designer frame progressives for price of 1!

Bought sunglasses 1.5 years ago, great price and good service. Now the tint has cracked and is wearing off the lenses. Lenses are stored in a case all the time, no damage to them. There is no warranty on my lenses, so they won’t fix them. What seemed like a good deal at the time is now a headache as the sunglasses are unusable.

I had 3 awful experiences in this store. One staff member was extremely rude to me. Another staff member accused me of taking his coffee mug, after I Just bought a pair of Dolce Gabbana. Yesterday I went to get a pair of glasses fixed. The manager was on the phone looked right at me and ignored me. He stayed on the phone while I waited, did not acknowledge me and there was no one in the store. I just left and won’t be going back.

At Image not only is the optometrist more thorough and interested in all going on with me, but open to all the questions I had. The people selling frames and accessories were amazing as well. Went in to get prescription replacement lenses for my Ray-Bans and dealt with Alex who was very friendly, personable and efficient. She told me it would be 2 weeks to get them in. 2 weeks to the day I went in to see if they were there and they had just arrived and I dealt with Jaren who said to leave them there and he would have them ready in an hour. Sure enough they were and they were perfect. He even tightened them a couple times to make sure they felt the same as when I brought them in. Both Alex and Jaren were very friendly, polite and answered all my questions and to top it off they were $180 less even with the 2 year scratch warranty than another place had quoted me. Very satisfied, will definitely be back and recommend!!

Sept.2018 . Son is person with disability. Had eye exam and got new lenses. Price was $300. Asked if any discount options available since he is a PWD. Was told no. Being new to Nanaimo I didn't know the ministry of health rules for PWD. Paid the $300. Few months later his teacher mentioned I shouldn't have paid for it. March 7 2019 Found receipts went to Image. Rep called Blue Cross..funds were available for my son. Long story short: because it was 6 months ago Director of company said No. they would not honour their mistake, refund my money and complete claim form to Blue Cross to be reimbursed. I told rep 'this isn't right. I'll be back.' Sarcastically he replied 'good luck with that one'. Customer service disgraceful when it comes to persons with a disability. I will never go back to this store.

I heard such great things about this place and then when my husband and I went in to find some new lenses & frames for ourselves, the staff didn't bother to even look up and acknowledge us, let alone ask to help us. We waited patiently for a few minutes and looked around, and then left because if they can't be bothered to acknowledge us why would we spend our money here. I wish it was a better first impression/experience.
