If there is a Zero rate, I would give them. They used to be good five years ago, but they recently got terrible in customer service. You ask for a certain type of lenses and you get another type, and of course after you already paid the full price of the lenses, they will tell you take it or leave it but no refund. And this is how they treated a regular customer who pays over $800 on each visit. I stopped visiting this location, then tried a location on Dundas and Hurontario, but they are also not great in customer service. So I am buying from other stores around the area which will take care of you. REMEMBER: After all if you are looking for cheap and good service go to Walmart or Costco, and if you are looking for brand names and good customer service LensCrafters is good.

Overall Ive have a great experience at Hakim, Ive bought 3 pairs of glasses and almost 2 years of contact. Ive read the other reviews and am having a completely difference experience. They know their stuff and have really nice frames. When I look for stylish frames for an outfit , I check at Hakim first.

i had my glasses from hakim square one. after the first 2 days i wasn't comfortable with the lens. i got back to them and they said nothing wrong its your prescription. i went to their doctor and he figured out the lenses are wrong !! he told them to make new ones. after i got the new ones they refused to give me case and lens cleaner because i didn't buy the frame from them although i paid $450 for just the lens!! and they were very rude. even after i got the second pair the coating wasn't right. i saw clearly the green horizontal lines in the lens which was clear to see but they refused to declare that. i also didn't get comfortable with the second ones i always get headache after 2 hours of using my PC .. i have been purchasing glasses for 16 years now , hakim is WORST EVER optical store i have seen in my life !!!

I dropped off my glasses at Hakim to be fixed because one of the hinges for the arm was missing. I never got a call back, i physically went to the store twice within about 3 weeks. Both times i went, they seemed to have forgotten that it was there. Nothing was done. I questioned what was being done to fix them, and the MANAGER felt the need to tell me that they were "doing me a favour". You're not doing me a favour if you haven't done ANYTHING. They didn't even call me within those 3 weeks to let me know that there is nothing that they can do. I could have left it there for months and nothing would have been done. That's not doing someone a favour. When i took my glasses back from them, THAT SAME NIGHT, i went to a further HAKIM OPTICAL location in Heartland (Brtiannia and Mavis). The associate there searched if the same model was available, which he told me it wasn't, but he notified me that he can find an arm for the glasses and he'll call me within 2-3 days. THE NEXT DAY, it was ready. Square One location took 3 WEEKS for nothing and Heartland fixed it in less than 24 hours. THAT'S doing me a favour.

Dr. De Luca and Dr. Ma are very knowledgeable and friendly. I've been getting eye exams from this location for the past few years and will continue to do so. Arman went the extra mile to help me with my glasses and contacts. He was patient with me when I was learning how to put my contacts on. He was always willing to answer any of my questions and if he didn't know the answer, he made sure to find someone else who could help me out. I'm really happy with my experience in the clinic and in the store.

Dr. Danny is wonderful and that's where the experience stops. Aside from Hung, the rest of the staff are useless. I got lenses replaced on two pairs of reading glasses when a month later found a crack in one pair. No warranty on them except to say they aren't responsible for damages when working on the glasses...huh???I went there and was told I had physically damaged them...how,???

"It's the people that make the place" do apply to this store. I bought glasses for my daughter and the asian guy was able to do them in less than an hour at good price. The previous day I asked the lady at the counter and she said they could only be ready in one week. What a difference... She wad also very rude. The same asian guy and and the middle eastern guy helped my daughters with getting their contact lenses for the forst time and they were fantastic. They had patience ( more than 2hours of trial and error) and in the end they were able to put them on theor own. I give a 4star instead of 5 because of the impossible rude and incompetent lady from the previous day.

Trashiest location. I purchased contacts from them... I went in to pick them up and the lady at the counter says they have arrived yet. I wait a week and I hear no response from them... I call them and they said "They were here the whole time" What the hell??? Wasted a trip to go pick them up. No apologies given either...

Honestly if there was a zero, I'd rate it that. This has been the worst experience ever. It has been 4 weeks and I am still waiting for my glasses. I have sent two emails to customer service, apparently they don't care either. I came in to purchase two pairs of glasses, and I put down a $350 deposit with one of the newer optometrists. He calls me up the next day, asking how much deposit I put down. After clearing it up, I had to call and remind the store to get my glasses ready. I got the same response everytime I called, "It will be ready by the next day in the evening." Honestly, it got to the point where I had to yell at the over the phone to get my first pair, which came last week. Still waiting for the next pair, but they continue to say that they don't have them and they are coming from the lab. I'm never coming back herre again, this was the worst possible experience I've ever had.

Loved the selection of durable frames. You can also pick the color of your choice. I got red frames and it looks so good. I got plenty of great compliments about it and i always recommend Hakim Optical. They are the best!

My brother bought two pairs of glasses here. The first prescription was too weak in one eye so we returned to get them fixed. When we went to pick up the 'fixed' pairs, one pair had not even been sent to be fixed. The second pair had the weak lens fixed, but the lens that required no adjustment had been adjusted. So once again the glasses have to be shipped out for adjustment. After about two months of waiting, the glasses are supposed to be ready later today. Then the employee tells me that because of the second adjustment we have to pay 35 dollars per pair. They royally screw up and tell us that we have to pay for it. The guy tells me "the doctor and the store are separate" and blames the doctor. The doctor blames the store. All the while my brother has to live without glasses without the correct prescription. This experience has been absolutely horrible, and I would recommend that you stay far, far away from Hakim optical.

Really amazing service. Came early in the morning asking to be checked by an Eye Doctor. I was the second person to see the Doctor. Dr. Dani De Luca is absolutely amazing in terms of making you feel at ease, very down to earth and humble Person. Takes his time explaining things to you. Really exceptional. I would highly recommend him to anyone. I was prescribed a pair of glasses. The service of the store team is also second to none. Would give them more than 5 stars.

I was met by a friendly staff and my wait was brief while the Dr prepared for my examination. The process of the examination was clearly explained and the Dr was very pleasant and appeared very knowledgeable and thorough.

If i could give them less stars i would. Went by this location ready to purchase glasses, and once inside - noone was in the store, no employees were around to help us. This was at a Sunday around 4pm - hours before closing. There was one employee who walked by the front counter while we were waiting and went right back into the back room. We stood around browsing glasses for at least another 10 minutes, and no staff members had even come out to the counter or the sales floor. Didn't seem like anyone worked here... We took our business elsewhere.

The staff are very helpful and patient. The manager was great! He took the time to assist me with my insurance coverage. I have been going to the Square One location for many year, and I would recommend this location. Dr. Ma is a wonderful optometrist. He takes the time to explain the results of the eye exams. He’s also very friendly and makes the appointment fun.

I definitely recommend this location. I had a bit of trouble with my insurance coverage for eyeglasses and the store manager, Arman, was very quick to resolve these. I ended up with two glasses, one designer and one Hakim brand which I am very happy with. It also doesn’t hurt that the store associates are very generous with their compliments☺️

Got 4 pairs from this store in Nov 2020. In Dec 2020, one pair's frame came loose. In Jan 2021, another pair's frame came loose. The Heartland location fixed both pairs. But, this is just poor workmanship!

I wish I could give a negative star. Worst place ever. First of all, the quality is EXTREMELY poor. Both my mom and my wife bought pairs of glasses from them and both of them were broken within a year and half. And after lots of negotiation and argument, finally they agreed to repair the broken ones without charge. Then it took 2 months to get them fixed and get back to our hands. And we were happy just for 4 months - then both the repaired ones broken down into pieces AGAIN!! (didn't do hard just from regular uses!!). And this time the warrant had gone expired and obviously they now have the legal right to refuse any further services. The staff was very tough and the only thing I got from them is their headquarter phone number which I called and emailed with no answer. Horrible horrible experience. Unbelievable staff. Would never ever go into their door!!

Purchased a pair of glasses from Fayaz at this store. He is a personable, polite, respectful, and co-operative individual who was very helpful throughout the process. Highly recommend this store to anyone for their optical needs. Ask for Fayaz, you won't be disappointed.

The staff could seem friendly when they want you to purchase something but once you buy it they keep lying about the warranty they told you about!! I’ve bought glasses for hakim with warranty and they said they changed the rules and now it’s only 1 year warranty.....what the hell does that have to do with when I purchased it???? I don’t recommend this place at all and I did go to a different place which was much more helpful!

I don’t recommend this place even to my enemies, went for a new pair of eye glasses and I requested a thin lenses and they said they will be thin ( false information)but they made thick and ugly lenses and made me pay extra money to re do them . Had to wait 12 days to get them , they called just once and didn’t call again for pick up as they have got their money in advance, treat people with superiority and desrespect . No body goes their guys .

Service beyond expectations!! I recently brought my niece in to purchase glasses, and was blown away by the experience. At first I was quite skeptical, as when I searched this store on google I saw mostly negative reviews. However, once speaking with the optician, I was told that the store is under new management since September (after having the same manager for many years prior to that) and I had nothing to fear. This definitely seemed to be the case, as not only was the optician helping us very knowledgeable, he was very patient with us and took his time to explain my neice's prescription, and different lens options along with their benefits. This was very different than previous optical experiences we've had where the staff are rushing to take your money, get you out the door and jump on the next sale. The optician really made us feel like his top priority. After asking detailed questions about my neice's day to day life and hobbies, he learned that she loves swimming and suggested perception swimming goggles for her, which up to this point we weren't even aware existed. Fast forward one week, I brought my neice in to pick up her new glasses and swimming goggles, the same optician serving us attended to us and went over our purchase order, and made sure the glasses & goggles were properly fitted to fit her face (unlike most other places, where they're so quick to take your money during the sale then completely ignore you after that point). Being able to see clearly under water for the first time, my cousin was completely blown away. The staff really made us feel like family and worked hand-in-hand to make sure the whole process went smoothly from start to finish. Definitely left a lasting impression on us. I usually don't take the time to write reviews for businesses, but thought it would only be fair to give credit where due, especially considering the negative reviews the store carries from previous years. THANK YOU TO THE STAF AT HAKIM OPTICAL IN SQUARE ONE, AND TO ANYBODY READING THIS, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO IN THE STORE AND SEE WHAT I'M TAKING ABOUT. Keep up the good work!

The reception for the eye test centre gave me the worst customer service; showing me nothing but blatant disrespect, she had the utmost racist manner and treated me in such away I felt belittle. She started to even yell at me which stopped the Doctor who was doing an eye test. He repeatedly said "I know, I know, I know" rather than actually listening to what my concerns where. If I could give them a negative rating for stars I would. I don't recommend you get your eye tested here.

I would give minus ten starts if I could. This place is an absolute disgrace. Do not waste your time or money here. I wish I had seen the reviews first. The concept of customer service does not exist here. Long story short ; there's a complication with my prescription and there is no estimated date for completion. They refuse to update me, they also lied and said they called me. Blaming fellow staff for the mix up, while nobody takes ownership of the situation. If i don't call, I get no information. If I do call, I still get no information. Hopefully I can get a refund. You would think as a business, they would care about the horrible experiences customers continue to have. Sir Hakim would be disappointed. TLDR:Stay away

I went there to get my glasses adjusted, the optometrist accuse me of sitting on my glasses (I didn't sit on them)then he adjust and return my glasses full of finger prints didn't ask me if glasses ok and walk away. Terrible service I will never buy glasses at hakim optical

This is so unreliable a place. I took an appointment for a particular doctor as she gave me a prescription which was quite good. I asked for an appointment from the same doctor and they gave it to me for a day after. On the same day they called me to say that doctor is not available for next 3 weeks which itself is surprising as a they never planned for a 3 week leave in advance . However I waited for 3 weeks as I wanted to see that particular doctor. Again they called me and just left a voice mail that doctor won't be available . I just suffered for a month unnecessarily. Do they have any discipline at all or one can rely on them..I don't think so. I think these considerations are not so important if you are running a retail store but when you are dealing with health of people..behave little more responsibily

Square one Hakim has closed indefinitely and they lost my glasses. I paid but they can’t locate it. Fayaz is not helping, and is not offering a solution. Very poor service. Go somewhere else!

I got over charged big time from this location when they found out I had insurance coverage. As they are supposed to have a buy one get one pair free. They didn't honor their special. I will be filing my complaint in the meantime I hope people think twice before dealing with them.

Dropped my glasses here to be adjusted and came back to get it adjusted again because it seemed off. Explained to the manager that I wasn't blaming them, but I also haven't worn my glasses since they fixed it. He was more concerned about who did it than solving the problem itself. If I can give them 0 stars I would. He was playing the blame game when I specifically stated I'm not blaming them.
