Adjusting my previous 1 star review following a negative experience turned positive. After I attended in early October for my biennial eye exam I was pushed to the point of having to write a 1 star review based on extremely poor customer service provided by a previous staff member that resulted in me leaving the store without purchasing the new eyewear and contacts I was searching for. I had been shocked to learn that two other immediate family members (also long time customers of Linden Ridge Eye Care) both also had recent negative experiences with the same staff member. The other staff members I had dealt with in my last 10 years as a customer were always super helpful, encouraging, and patient; the complete opposite of this individual which is what made the situation so disappointing. I was hoping to have another positive experience finding new frames that day but instead I left not wanting to return. Following my review, Cathy reached out to me directly to thank me for my feedback and apologize for the negative experience. She ensured me that action had been taken so that this type of situation could be avoided at her place of business in the future as this is not the way she wants her customers to feel. She went above and beyond by offering me an after hours appointment where she personally helped me find the new eyewear and contacts I was looking for. Although I can be indecisive and quite picky when picking out new eyewear, Cathy was very patient with me and allowed me to try on as many frames as I needed before I made my final selection. The process was made even more simple and convenient when Cathy offered to directly bill my insurance company for my purchase and initiated the rebate request for my contacts. I am glad I gave Linden Ridge Eye Care another chance as I was able to leave the store feeling like a valued customer again and wanting to continue giving them my business into the future. Kudos to Cathy for taking customer feedback seriously and making every effort to salvage existing relationships with her customers when necessary.

**Updated review** Sept 2021 - We arranged with Cathie to get my mother in law some sunglasses for Mother's Day this year, we are not in town and can't travel back to Winnipeg because of Covid. Cathie took amazing care of my mother in law and got her some great frames. The team mad some great suggestions about looking into her eye care health too! Recommend Cathie and Linden Ridge Eye Care 100% My wife has been going to Linden Ridge Eye Care for over ten years now! I recently visited the store in hopes of finding her a "newlyweds" gift. Will was able to point me into the direction of my wife's favourite brands and styles. With Will's help I was able to pick out an amazing pair of Tom Ford sunglasses. I cannot THANK this business enough! I had a sliver of wood in my eye, and my regular eye doctor was away. We called numerous other locations, and they were either closing, or referring us to the hospital. The wait time at the hospital was 5+ hours, and the pain was increasing by the hour. We landed on Linden Ridge Eye Care, and without hesitation, they told me to come in. Within 5 minutes of arriving, I was seen by Dr.Britton, and she removed the debris. Great staff all around, friendly service, and convenient. THANK YOU

There is also an optometrist on site so it's a one stop convenience to get eyes tested and purchase eyewear ????! Since then, I've probably been back once every six months and they continue to carry such a beautiful and varied selection of frames. Staff has always been super thoughtful and will spend a ton of time with you (if you need it), until you're thrilled with the frame you're gonna go home with. I am new to the need for glasses, other than a basic reader. I walked in and immediately felt like my presence and business was appreciated. The eye exam with Dr. Ashley Britton was very different from any other test I have experienced in the past. Very thorough and she was wonderful at explaining what she was doing and why she was doing it. She also suggested that i come back for a different test to set a base for my eye wellness. THEN, it was time to get progressives. They have a great selection of frames to choose from and then when it came time to pick a lens (who knew there were so many options). I didn't feel pressured to pick the best one, but felt well informed and educated. I would highly recommend the Linden Ridge Eye Care for all your eye health needs. They are professional, fun and most importantly are glad we are doing business there! That in itself is refreshing.

Our family has purchased numerous pairs of glasses and sunglasses at this location. I had purchased a pair of Tom Ford glasses with lenses from Linden Ridge Eye Care. My lenses are scratched up, so I reached out to the store asking for a measurement for the glasses I had purchased, called the PD. Pupillary distance (PD) measures the distance between the centers of your pupils. I was first told: "If you would like that measurement there is a fee. We do it at no charge when glasses or lenses are purchased. The fee is $50". When I pointed out that this measurement had already been taken, and I simply needed it to order new lenses I was told: "When you purchase online, they have instructions on how to take that measurement. If you would like a copy of our file, there is a fee". Simply asking for a measurement already taken at the store for the EXACT pair of glasses they sold really shouldn't be this difficult. I have been increasingly frustrated with the customer service at this store and my family and I won't be returning.

Great staff and huge selection of frames, but had to bring my glasses in 3 times to get adjusted because the lens kept popping out. They were very helpful when I brought them in, but was getting annoying. It wasn't until I brought in an old pair did the gentleman figure out what the issue was.

I was in Winnipeg and needed an adjustment to my glasses. I came upon this optician and was very surprised! The owner, Cathy, helped me and she was so knowledgeable and helpful that I didn't feel like a stranger or a tourist, which of course I was. I don't get to Winnipeg more than once or twice a year, but the next time I'm there I'll shop for new glasses at Linden Ridge Eye Care and see how that goes.

This is probably the only place that I've seen in Winnipeg with the widest and greatest selection of new and well branded glasses! Never again I'll go to another mall outlet for my prescription glasses. From getting my eyes checked, to picking out a fresh pair of glasses, it was such a great, easy, hassle free experience. Staff truly is honest with various picks and like I said, their selections are amazing!

I am sure this place is really good thats why I got my appointment here the first place but I was really disappointed with their customer service. I booked my appointment on Friday and the next day I also got a message confirming my appointment but neither when I called nor in the message they mentioned about their being late policy. I was not aware that you can only be 10 minutes late or otherwise they will have to resechdule my appointment. My appointment was at 12:00pm and I was there at 12:13pm the woman said you could be 10 minutes late but you are 13 minutes and we cannot take you. I didnt mind rescheduling I know I was late but I believe it is their responsibility whenever customers book their appointments to let them know that you have to come on time because we have this policy and if you are late we would have to reschedule or something. I am sure if people know that they would be careful not being late. Thank you Subhroop

The optometrist is good, but the store staff are very rude. I took my kids for eye exam, and told them to look for frames while waiting. Then the staff told us to wait outside, while clearly other customers were free to wait inside. Feel sorry about the optometrist, as I am not coming back.

I had my first visit at linden ridge eye care last week. Dr. Britton was very pleasant. She corrected my prescription as my lenses were too strong. I was particularly impressed with Danielle, who helped check the fit of my contacts. She really took her time to answer all of my questions and make me feel comfortable. She also helped me find a wonderful pair of new frames. Unlike other staff in the past who will give you an overwhelming amount of frames and say they all look good....she only pulled a couple and could confidently say which ones she thought complimented my face. Came here to pair my first glasses as I found myself near-sighted. The staff are really kind and it took only 2-4 days to get my glasses. The optometrists here are very patient and nice. You can really count on them. The missing one star is for the "not so true" statement of glass frames, I chose the cheap one and it works great. There is no need to buy fancy frames if you are on tight budget like me. But anyway this is a very good place to do eye exams and get a prescription glasses.

It's actually astonishing how bad the customer service is here. I can't say I've ever walked away from spending my money and felt worse about the experience. Their frames are also priced way out of the market (that is if the price they TELL you in what they are actually priced at. It seems to be a game time decision on what they will charge you once you select a pair.). Save yourself a lot of unpleasantness and head to the place in the next parking lot (north). The difference on my specific frames was $64 and when I went to that other place to confirm I had been ripped off, they treated me with respect and kindness. Definitely NOT the experience you will get at Linden Ridge EC.

Recently my husband and I got our eyes checked and bought new glasses. We usually go for the transitional lenses, however this time my husband went for customized clip ons onto his eye glasses. On the optometrist's side - superb, Dr. Britton is absolutely fantastic. I'm susceptible to migraines and the right eye-wear prescription is crucial for me. Dr. Britton helped me a lot. On the optical side, I believe the staff works hard to excel and they try to be the best. I had a couple of small issues in the course of two years, which weren't a big deal and a more significant one, which was resolved with the involvement of the owner.

Extremely rude staff - front counter lady hung up the phone on me! And hung up the phone on my teenage daughter! They are trying to bill my teenage daughter a no-show fee for 3 eye examination appointments that I had booked and cancelled for myself and my 2 children! The reason I cancelled the appointments in the first place is that the front counter lady was rude to me when I had called to re-schedule the appointments a few days before the actual appointments - so I just cancelled them instead! Do not go here - you will be treated horribly! Wish I could give zero stars for the rating! I am going to respond to your comment Dr. Britton - there was no "no show" that ever occurred, because I cancelled the 3 appointments several days before they were to occur. This is an out-right lie to save face. You were trying to bill my child when she called to book her own appointment - one year after from when I had cancelled the 3 appointments! And when I phoned to speak to the front counter staff woman - she was extremely rude to me - just like a year ago, and continued to speak over me when I was trying to explain the situation to her and then she hung up on me! I then called back and asked her why she hung up on me and she put me through to your manager. I spoke to the manager and he told me he could not deal with me because my daughter is over 18 years. I told him that it is irrelevant because I booked and cancelled the 3 appointment's last year for myself and my 2 children - and they never sent an invoice once to my home to try and collect any cancellation fees at all because they were cancelled well ahead of any policy! The fact that you run your business in such a shady manner is offensive. Trying to take advantage of collecting non-existent "no show" fees from my child. And your commentary and lack of apology and the way you treated me is even more offensive.

I visited LREC for an eye exam with Dr. Britton who has always been amazing. I was also in the market for new glasses. I had a really negative, uncomfortable encounter with a staff member and decided to leave. About a week later, I decided that to give it another shot because I had always enjoyed their selection and the people there. Luckily I was helped by Taz who did an amazing job at helping me find a new pair of glasses frames that I loved. She made me feel super comfortable and didn’t make me feel pressured at all. The owner Catherine had called me and discussed my negative experience, and made me feel a lot better. She took time out of her day to listen to my experience and take what I had to say seriously. It’s refreshing to see that an owner puts so much time and effort into her place of business. You can tell she values the customers she has and wants to make sure everyone has a great experience! I was issued a prescription by Dr. Ashley Britton in September. I lost the piece if paper and went in today to have my prescription re printed. I was told there would be a $10 charge for this. I told the receptionist it's just a piece of paper and I'm also here to purchase a pair if glasses. The answer was "Sorry those are Dr. Britton's rules" It took 10 min to get it reprinted, I then walked out and will purchase my glasses someplace else. Trying to figure out if business is really good or bad Dr. Britton.

Not impressed with the after service. The optometrist who did eye exam was great, however I can't say the same for the women out front. Still waiting for the info on the four frames I narrowed it down to. No email response, no phone response. I guess they're not hurting for business, otherwise, they would have jumped all over my $900 purchase for frames and lenses. Won't be going back.

I decided to switch to Linden Ridge Eye Care due to dissatisfaction with my previous optometrist and optician. The staff here is very welcoming and customer friendly. Dr. Britton did the most thorough eye exam I have ever went through- making the patient feel well taken care of. She knowledgeably answered all of my questions and concerns. Initially had an issue as it related to covid and contact lens fitting. There was a communication issue and I was unable to get the contacts that I had gone for in the first place. The staff and owner were able to touch base with me, explain the miscommunication and make it right and get my fitting done in a timely fashion before my wedding. Hard to turn a negative experience into a positive one but they managed to do it with flying colors.

This is the second time I am purchasing glasses here. I am extremely happy with the service that I have received. I consider prescription glasses to be an investment, so I ask a lot of functionality questions to make sure I am going to get what I need. I can also get good suggestions on what frames are good for my face, as well as an honest opinion on how they look. The staff were busy (I didn't have an appointment, my fault) but was told someone would assist me shorty. A lady named Catherine came from the back office came to help. She asked me what I was looking for and made suggestions based on my preferences. She was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable... I ended up buying 2 pairs of sunglasses because I was extremely happy with her service. David jumped in shortly after to help gather my information and wrap up the sunglasses I bought. It's later in the day when I realized (after reading Catherine's business card) she was the owner of Linden Ridge Eye Care. Thank you for the amazing service!

Friendly and patient staff. Dr Britton is extremely nice and upbeat. Quick but thorough eye exam and the support staff were great to deal with. Price is on point with anywhere else you would go for an eye exam. I highly recommend this business.
