Friendly staff and funky shop - they make a very good initial impression. Staff are attentive and look like cool people that you'd like to hang out with. Be aware that ALL SALES ARE FINAL - this is NOT written anywhere in the shop. My wife went through frame selection, PD measurement and an invoice was written up for her by hand - what a quaint touch! She was directed toward the cashier and, as she walked that way (her mind on her glasses) the sales person said "and all sales are final." My wife didn't hear it. There were certainly no signs posted in the store about this policy. When the glasses didn't work for her they were willing to to change lenses but NO REFUNDS and NO CHANGING THE FRAMES. This poor business decision cost them the patronage of one family of four - I hope that it was worth it to them.

As someone who gets squeamish when it comes to anything eye-related I found my exam to be such a breeze! Friendliest and knowledgeable staff (from the front desk to the doctors), excellent service, a great selection of dope glasses, and a chill/quirky vibe – I love my time there! Even though it was insanely busy I found myself being treated great, and not just ‘another customer.’ Will be back – support local! Thanks G!

Their glasses selection is curated very well and honestly the best selection I've seen so far! There are some really unique frames. Normally I would be narrowing it down from one or two pairs that I felt OK with, but here I found I was having a hard time narrowing it down from a good dozen that I was excited about! Apparently they change the store front up pretty often so you can have a new experience if/whenever you need any adjustments. The staff here are what really make it an amazing experience though. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and quirky. The whole place is an experience. It perfectly sums up why you would take a chance on a smaller business. I won't be going anywhere else for my glasses any time soon at least! (Also when I purchased my glasses they gifted me the creepiest little ventriloquist finger puppet, named Stubby (I'm sure you can find it if you Google). It gave me a really good laugh and made the whole experience one that I still haven't forgotten!)

I went over to get another frame screw today and they didnt even charge me! Staff are very helpful and caring. when i got my glasses back, they had been polished and were in a small baggie with a new polishing cloth, once again free of charge. I highly recommend going there for glasses and glass repair.

I had been to countless places searching for my next pair of glasses and always walked away disappointed. I saw this shop one evening when I was out having supper across the lot and decided to go have a look the next time they opened. I didn't see anything I liked during my first walkthrough but then Bonni asked if I needed any help. I described what I was looking for and what I wanted to avoid and lo and behold, the very first frame she handed me was the one I ended up buying! The quality of frames they carry all feel and look so much better than what you'd find at the major competitors. The warranty on frames and lenses is fantastic. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Mel also went above and beyond with her customer service. My mother and my boyfriend were equally impressed by this quirky little shop. I'm a happy customer and I definitely recommend checking this place out!

The cutest glasses store in Winnipeg. My mom and I went to check it out last week and the staff and the collections for eyewear were astonishing. Some of the collections have a retro vibe, others are more chic... It catered to alot of what I liked.

Monday I got some small particle from a ceiling tile in my eye. I was told go to Misericordia Health Centre, after a 4 hour wait the doctor finally checked my eye, said you should be fine in 24hrs and sent me on my way. Missed two days of work bc he misdiagnosed me and the particle was stuck in my eyelid. It was so bad I couldn't even drive, just stuck with my eyes closed at home. My project manager booked me into an amazing place called G Is For Glasses where a great Optometrist actually swabbed my eye twice and took out whatever was in there. Prescribed me proper solutions and sent me on my way requesting I follow up. I can actually function now. Highly recommend G Is For Glasses for anyone who ever comes across the same or similar situation. They were amazing. ???????????????? Thanks So Much!!

Very disappointed in the service on a few occasions but today was the last straw. Funky and hip place that drew my husband, daughter and myself in last year but the high prices, too relaxed atmosphere and the general lack of respect, understanding and service for repeat customers like my family made me realize this was not the kind of place I want to go to anymore.

Amazing helpful and professional staff. Warm clean and cozy environment. They found me the perfect pair of glasses within the first 5 minutes of sitting down! A first for me! I'm from Calgary and were willing to ship them to me. Service was swift and the staff was the funniest and most friendly I've come across. No PD provided with $125 eye exam! I booked an eye exam at the Taylor Ave location and was horribly let down after an otherwise great experience. At $125 the eye exam seemed on the pricey side but the staff was friendly and the eye exam was thorough so I was okay with it. After getting to my car I looked at my new perscription and noticed there was no PD measurement. It's one of the most important pieces of information needed to get proper glasses so I went back in and asked for it. They told me the PD os only taken when you buy glasses. This is when all the great service I had recieved became wasted as they are now just another business looking to withhold information from consumers in an attempt to force instore purchases.

Went in to get my glasses adjusted, with no one in the store. They asked if I had an appt, which I didn't. It take 2 mins to adjust glasses, how does that make sense?

Dr. Fillmore is by far the best optometrist I've been to. She actually cares about you and wants what is best for you! After my contact lens fitting, she gave me trials and told me to email her any concerns I had. I have had trouble in the past with different optometrists selling me certain contacts they were trying to promote instead of the ones that are best for me, so this was refreshing. Dr. Fillmore was persistent in trying to get me the right contacts lenses, as all the others I've had were terrible, and finally she found the perfect lenses for me! I will recommend G is for Glasses to everyone I know!

They have an eye for the stylish; the eclectic; and the hip. I have never had so many compliments from complete strangers, in various cities, who say, "I just love your glasses." And yes, I do answer, "g, thanks". My current frames are by Moscot. Orange and antlers only add to the "g" experience. Visit and see for yourself!

Dr. Jessie is great to see; the eye exams are relaxed yet professional, and I always feel comfortable getting a checkup. The glasses selection is unique, hip, and Bonnie makes sure I find the right glasses that look good on me and match my style. There is no pressure and the shop is full of fun decor that makes it exciting to go and see what else is new. All the staff I have dealt with are friendly, and I love stopping by! Check out G is for Glasses - you won't be disappointed!

G is for glad I never have to go there again. Terrible customer service made me exit the store just to be done with “her”. (Unfortunately didn’t get her name). I think people who specialize in something should have a fairly good idea what type of glasses look good on face shapes. Not the case here. When I said I don’t know what I wanted and was relying on her to pick out a few options she chose glasses that did nothing for me then got annoyed when I told her I didn’t like them. She could have handled the situation much better. As for selection the stuff all looked cheap and uninspiring. Store had the potential to be good but it’s a fail. Would not recommend.

I just had a terrible experience at G is for Glasses and would not recommend this shop to anyone. A true test of a great business and great customer service is how you are treated when a mistake is made and hey we are all human and all make mistakes but to be treated the way I was when their team made a mistake with my appointment tells me that they don't understand what even small gestures can make to customer loyalty. If you shop here be prepared to be treated terribly if anything, even something minor goes wrong. Its easy to be nice and happy when everything is going well but your character shows when things go badly. As a new customer, referred by a friend, prepared to spend over $600 on new glasses I just expected someone to care enough to make it right. Not at G is for Glasses.

Bonnie and her team are the.best. Walking into such a cool little boutique - toys for your kids? ✔ Candy? ✔ - you might assume the prices are sky-high, or the staff snooty. Nope! Staff are amazing and engaging. Selection is fantastic, and the prices are great! Bonnie found me a pair of glasses in under 20 minutes. For real. Can't recommend G is for Glasses enough! Will also be moving my optomotry file over and will start getting my eye exams there.
