I am very disappointed in the customer service that I recieved from Eyes in th Village. Note, I emailed this same complaint to them, and all I got back was an automated response thanking me for having interest in their services! So enough is enough. I came in because I was told my new lenses were ready. The previous lenses they gave me were the wrong prescription, and I had to get my eyes rechecked. Although they they were the wrong prescription, they fit into the frame I had provided. I came in with a new frame but the exact same model, because during filling the previous prescription, one of the arms had been broken, so I ordered a replacement. I was told that the new lenses did not fit into the frame I brought and that my frame was too large, claiming that if the frames are not bought in store, they cannot guarantee size consistancy, and it was my fault for buying outside frames. They told me I would need to come in with a new smaller frame in order for the lenses to work. Even when I asked if there was frames in store that would fit the lenses, they said I would just need to choose new frames, then they would fit the lenses afterwards. I left with lenses too small for my glasses, and no other options. Once I got home I tested the new lenses in my old frame, to see if the new frame was the issue. But as I suspected they were also too small, meaning it was the lab's fault for making the wrong size of lenses. The ladies did not seem apologetic, or take any accountability, or offer me any help other than if I found a new frame they wouldn't charge me for the fitting fee. Again, I asked if there were frames in store that would fit my lenses, and they showed me no options. I will say though to be fair, the computers were down that day, so perhaps that had a hand in my terrible experience. Regardless, I left without being shown anything, or any other options, I know retail, and that's just not good customer service. I just want lenses that are the right prescription to fit in my frames. Or just a full set of glasses that I can actually wear. I really don't think that's too much to ask for. Please let me know if I have options in this situation rather than me feeling ripped off, blind, and helpless!

I took a pair of my daughter’s glasses in to have to nose pads replaced b cuz one had come off and went bye bye. When I went to pick them up a week later, cuz that’s when they would supposedly b ready????, they charged me $5 and they weren’t even fixed. Never again going there.

I visited Eyes in the Village, recently for prescription glasses. I was examined by Dr. Low. The examination was thorough and she explained the results to me in a very clear and understandable manner. I bought the frame and the lenses from them and they were very helpful during the process. I am pleased with the service and they also had very good prices and a big variety of frames. All the stuff was polite and friendly and as a plus you get reimbursed for the parking ticket when you park next to them (very convenient parking location).

One of the best doctor's office experiences. Period. Needed to have an eye exam so I picked the location with the most creative name. I was able to get a same-day appointment. Staff was charming. The intake procedure is very streamlined - appointments only, sign a COVID form at the door, sit and wait for a bit, go through three machines, wait for a bit, see the doctor. I saw Doctor Ben, who was excited and engaged with my health and he took the time to explain everything. He performed quick inspections of ducts/glands(?) that I've never had examined anywhere else, and he was able to discover problems that I feel other experts didn't put the time in to check. From the decor to the techniques/machines used, everything felt modern. Eye exam cost was $120, but I feel that is well worth it for the premium service. Overall, definitely make your appointments at Eyes in the Village. All of the staff radiated positivity, and your experience will too.

The dr. Is good. The clerks are not as friendly, they don't tell you what's going on because they are having a hard time figuring it out themselves with billing. I had to pay so much extra when I am on soc. Makes me feel I might of over paid when they had no idea what was going on with soc... I have 3 frames that I decided to re-use with the new Rx. Soc covered a portion of that then I paid the extra for the anti-glare ( plus the other 2 frames ($40 )which i hope it is on. Their lack of communication n knowledge makes me think they dont even know what's goin on. My son also got 2 frames from them since his old frames were too small. So when I was getting them, they were alright the optician seems to be the only one that knows what's going on with the eyeglasses the other girl doesnt even try to fix them when I had asked before to take a look at them. But the stupid thing is with all that I paid which was over $250.00 due to my extra lens with my old frames plus the soc coverage and my son's eyeglasses too.! I didn't even get a case for any of my eyeglasses since I re-used my old frames. I was like am ok since I am not getting a case for any of my eyeglasses, I said " can you at least give me a bag for them to put them in." The optician said, " yea sure.". I am not goin back there. I will get my son's eyes re-check because I am not comfortable they did a good job with his Rx. Not feeling confident with their work. They are not prepared to deal with customers on a professional attitude, no matter what..even if I am under soc. Should still be good service. Plus, I paid lots, was not something I was expecting since i re-used my old frames, I know eyeglasses are expensive but at least give me 1 case, geez..I would like to also have a nice case!!!..guess I had to pay for that too. So upset about that. Very very upsetting!!. Not happy !! Frustrated with the service I had. ????????????????????????

They would do well to focus less on fancy machinery and more on their customer service. It’s impossible to get a hold of them. I have been waiting for trial contacts for a month. I was promised 2-3 business days and that I would have them before a vacation I was taking. The day before my vacation I couldn’t get a hold of them (keep in mind this was 10 business days after I was told it would be 2-3) and to this day I have not heard a word from them.

Dry Eye Treatment: I've had almost a dozen IPL treatments over the past several years at the biggest and best dry eye clinic in Canada (Seema Eye Care Centre in Calgary). Recently a number of clinics in Winnipeg started doing IPL. I was cautiously optimistic to hear this as it's a tricky procedure to do properly and requires an intuitive Dr. that works with their patients, not against. Went to go see Dr. Benjamin Itzkow and was very impressed. He does just as good a job as the leading dry eye clinic in Canada, if not better. Is also quite a bit better than other competitors in Winnipeg.

One quick email and I was able to book an appointment that same week. Whoever was emailing was awesome, made sure I was taken cared of as well. The optometrist was great! Super friendly and for an average person like myself ...the way he explained everything was clear and easy to understand. Testing out glasses at the end, I had help (needed help ha) to pick out the right pair for me. Helped that insurance in this case was eligible for direct billing and I can't wait to receive my glasses. Great service all around. Thanks guys.

I got my eyes checked at Eyes in the village last month. The staff are nice and friendly. I got a stronger prescription form the optometrist. He suggested that I should get blue light filter lenses that I never had before and I was fine without them. I didn’t get the blue light filter because there is not enough research showing that the blue light from monitors are considerable to harm my eyes. I wore my new prescription for 3 weeks. I had headaches and difficulty working with my phone and laptop. I asked them for an appointment to revise my prescription. For my second appointment the optometrist insisted that my only problem was not getting the blue light filters for my lenses. I had to go to another optometrist to get a second opinion. They found that my prescription was not appropriate and that was the cause of my headaches and discomfort for a month. I am really disappointed that the optometrist at Eyes in the village kept insisting that the new and expensive filters are my problem instead of being open minded about the fact that the prescription was not a fit for me.

Not the place for you, if you don't plan to buy your glasses from them. Front area ladies are not friendly or helpful. As soon as I mentioned I had been looking online, no one wanted to help me. My daughter had her eye exam, was given a prescription. We ordered online, and when we went back for her follow up, I mentioned that they didn't seem to be working for her. After giving me a lot of static about buying online he told me there was nothing they could help me with, for them. (understandable, we didn't buy them there) I said I just wanted to know if the glasses matched the prescription, I didn't need any sort of adjustment etc. He asked my daughter to read some letters on the wall, then took her glasses off her face and asked her to read again. Obviously the letters were blurry, it always takes a moment for your eyes to adjust. He looked at me and said, "see, the glasses work" Needless to say his attitude was far from professional. I had always found him to be somewhat snobby (I had seen him for myself a few times as well) but our last appointment sealed the deal. The general atmosphere here is very cold and unwelcoming. We won't be back.

I really liked the optomitrist. He was helpful, friendly, and answered all my questions. I was unimpressed with the staff at the front. The staff was concentrating on talking about social media and their next party rather then acknowledging me. The contacts were supposed to be in the next day, two weeks later I had to track them down to find out they are in. If you live in the village it's convenient but some personal skills are lacking with staff in my opinion.

Where do I start. Their computers are always down. No one can find my prescription or information. They say they'll call me as soon as they get my this and that in for me... no one calls. I order stuff through them...no one calls. The owner seems nice enough, but the staff seem unprofessional or they simply don't care and lack real customer service skills. I mean what's really going on there? It seems like no one knows what they're doing. Is it just me that they're like this to? None of this matters anymore. I've taken my business elsewhere.

Read the online reviews and decided to take my kid, June 2019. This is the best decision I've made regarding eye care. The entire staff were friendly and professional, from start to finish. At no time did we feel pressured or uncomfortable. Dr. Benji is very knowledgeable with an engaging personality. His tone was very reassuring and he provided detailed explanations whenever necessary. Expressing my concerns or having questions answered, were not issues. His expertise with communicating with children is impressive, because that does not come naturally to many people. My child really enjoyed the treatment from Dr. Benji and his staff. They also have an amazing selection of frames, coupled with great prices. What a fun place to shop! The staff was so friendly and the environment made you feel like you were in a real independent business as opposed to a bit chain glasses store. My husband and I have been using Eyes in the Village for a few years mainly because Dr Benji is so nice, as well as professional and has all the newest equipment! They also direct bill our insurance which is bonus. We were especially happy with yesterdays' visit however because of the young lady (Kristen) who helped us pick out our glasses. I went in for a basic eye exam to retest my eyes and nearly paid double from my last exam at a different optometrists. Also very pushy to upsell unecessary products even after stating not interested. The man who did my exam pulled up graphic google images of eye diseases with absolutely no warning. It was horrific and a failed last attempt to try and upsell overpriced visine Definitely would not recommend to anyone and will not be a returning customer.

I have worked at sunglass hut in the past and got great coverage with lense crafters and pearl vision, I was so worried when I came here that I would be swindled into paying the most for my pair of glasses. But I was presently surprised. The staff has went above to make my experience special, I gave them my budget and they never once pressured me to buy somthing more expensive. My glasses were a month late and I was a little annoyed since I was promised them weeks prior but their team went above and beyond to try and help me and rectify the situation. I have actively recommended this place to people for the Real, Personable staff who go above and beyond for their clients.

Horrendous customer service.I requested to have the owner call me back (Dr.Benjamin Itzkow)has yet to return the call. If you purchase your glasses from them you better make sure they do not break because they will not fix them and if they do they'll still be broken! THEN when I did speak to the owner He's rude, abrasive and utterly unprofessional. I absolutely needed my glasses..I'm blind without them and his solution was to cancel my glasses order and give me my prescription to shop elsewhere LOL! PLEASE DON'T SHOP HERE YOU'LL REGRET IT!!!
