I wear progressives and without them I cannot read, work or drive. I was cleaning my glasses when the metal frame snapped in a place I did not think could be repaired. My old pair of progressives were also broken. What to do? I had bought my glasses in English Bay and did not fancy a long drive, so I put both pairs of broken glasses in bags and set of in search of information, advice and prices. First stop was Maxim Eyes Optical - not only because it was closest to me but they had done a free repair for me about 6 months ago. Maxim and Adele listened to my story and they advised that the frame I had broken could possibly be repaired with a solder for a price of $60 - $80 but there was no guarantee the frame would not soon break. I agreed that didn't sound like a good option. Maxim then set out to see if she had a frame that my old lenses would fit - but Maxim told me we would be really lucky if that worked. Well, Maxim found a pair of frames and popped in my old lenses in less than 10 minutes! Then Maxim set out to see if she could find a frame for my old lenses (same prescription) because I wanted a "back-up" pair of glasses. But this time she could only come close - so the lenses would need some minor reshaping to fit that frame. Maxim gave me a very fair price to solve both my problems. I walked out with my new glasses, saved a lot of time and I will soon have a backup pair. But what impressed me most was that both Maxim and Adele were very good listeners and obviously very knowledgeable, taking the time to listen and then explain everything to me. I have found my optician for life. If your experience is as good mine, you will be very pleased to have chosen Maxim Eye Optical.
