The Chateau Lake Louise has sports activities like cross country skiing, guides snow shoeing and other guided activities depending on the season. This review is around Christmas and specifically covers the winter month around December and January. We registered for few winter activities like cross country skiing, Powderfest snowshoeing and the Icefalls of Johnston Falls. The cross country skiing takes place next to the hotel and about 1 minute walk from the back door. Jeff is amazing and does a really good job with the lesson and helping us to learn this sport. He is patient, knowledgeable and capable of helping you get on top of your game. Loved, loved his attention to our form and how he got us to do the sport well. Snowshoeing with Mike was also lots and lots of fun. He is based in the hotel and one he is conformable with what you are equipped with and what you are doing, he takes you to get the snow shoe and off you go to the mountain. Once you are in the mountain he trail blazes through the paths and then once you are at the top he lets you trail blaze down to the bottom on your OWN!!!! He is few feet away but you have to try this hike. Lots of fun and demanding. If you are not capable of running 5k or climbing up the mountain for an hour then you may want to reconsider this epic activity.
